"A warpfold conjugation trapped in a carbonised shell. It's an explosion, Mickey. An explosion waiting to happen." Answered Jack with a glint in his eyes.
With Martha things weren't going so well, she spoke German and talked to a woman with a gun, the woman wanted to stop Martha saying she shouldn't do it, Martha told her to go ahead before walking with a straight back into the lift she had revealed, the parting words of the woman were go to hell in German she just replied I know I am.
"This is Osterhagen Station Five. Are you receiving, Station One?" Spoke a Chinese woman
"I've got you. That makes three of us and three is all we need." Spoke Martha back to her
"My name is Anna Zhou, what's yours?"
"Martha Jones. What about you, Station Four? You never said."
"I don't want my name on this. Given what we're about to do." Spoke a Lebanese man
"So what happens now? Do we do it?" Asked the Chinese woman
"No. Not yet" Spoke Martha to the other two.
"Instructions say, once three Osterhagen Stations are online..."
"Yeah, but I've got a higher authority, way above UNIT. And there's one more thing the Doctor would do." Spoke Martha.
"This message is for the Dalek Crucible, repeat, can you hear me?
"Put me through. It begins. As Dalek Caan foretold." Spoke Davros
"The Children of Time will gather. And one of them will die!" Giggled dalek Cann.
"Stop saying that! Put me through!" Demanded the Doctor of Davros
"Doctor! I'm sorry. I had to."
"Oh, but the Doctor is powerless. My prisoner. State your intent."
"I've got the Osterhagen Key. Leave this planet and its people alone. Or I'll use it."
"Osterhagen what? What's an Osterhagen Key?!" Asked the Doctor sounding confused
"There's a chain of 25 nuclear warheads, placed in strategic points beneath the Earth's crust. If I use the key, they detonate and the Earth gets ripped apart."
"What?! Who invented that?! Well, someone called Osterhagen, I suppose. Martha, are you insane!?"
"The Osterhagen Key is to be used, if the suffering of the human race is so great, so without hope... that this becomes the final option…Don't argue with me, Doctor! Cos it's more than that. Now, I reckon the Daleks need these 27 planets for something, but what if it becomes 26? What happens then? Daleks? Would you risk it?"
"Second transmission, internal!" Spoke a metallic voice
"Display!" Commanded the red dalek that everyone seems to defer to, a second screen appeared. It showed Jack holding the Warp Star high, Sarah, Mickey and Jackie in the background.
"Captain Jack Harkness, calling all Dalek boys and girls! Are you receiving me? Don't send in your goons, or I'll set this thing off!"
"He's still alive! Oh my god, that-that's my mum!"
"And Mickey - Captain, what are you doing?" Asked the Doctor
"I've got a WarpStar wired into the mainframe. I break this shell, the entire Crucible goes up."
"You can't! Where did you get a Warp Star?!"
"From me! We had no choice. We saw what happened to the prisoners." Spoke up Sarah stepping forward
"Impossible. That face... after all these years." Said Davros recognising the woman
"Davros? It's been quite a while. Sarah Jane Smith, remember?" She asked with venom
"Oh, this is meant to be! The Circle of Time is closing. You were there, on Skaro, at the very beginning of my creation."
"And I've learnt how to fight since then! You let the Doctor go, or this WarpStar - it gets opened."
"I'll do it! Don't imagine I wouldn't."
"Now that's what I call a ransom! Doctor?" spoke Rose with a smile, but the Doctor kept his eyes at the floor, overcome with guilt.
"And the prophecy unfolds." Spoke Davros in fascination
"The Doctor's soul is revealed…..See him! See the heart of him!" Sang dalek Caan
"The man who abhors violence. Never carrying a gun. But this is the truth, Doctor. You take ordinary people and you fashion THEM into weapons. Behold your Children of Time, transformed into murders. I made the Daleks, Doctor. You made this. Already, I have seen them sacrifice today, for their beloved Doctor. The Earth woman, who fell opening the Subwave Network."
"Who was that?" Asked the Doctor looking up he hadn't seen that in the timeline.
"Harriet Jones. She gave her life to get you here." Spoke Rose gently to him
"How many more? Just think! How many have died in your name?" Demanded Davros…..And the Doctor reminisced. So many faces over the years, sacrificing themselves for him: Jabe, the Controller, Lynda, Sir Robert, Mrs Moore, Mr Skinner, Ursula, Bridget, the Face of Boe, Chantho, Astrid, Luke Rattigan, Jenny, River Song, the Hostess... The Doctor was trembling, broken.
"The Doctor. The man who keeps running, never looking back. Because he dare not, out of shame. This is my final victory, Doctor. I have shown you... yourself." For once, the Doctor has no answer.
"Enough! Engage defence zero-five." Spoke the red dalek
"It's the Crucible or the Earth." Demanded Martha
"Transmat engaged." Spoke a metallic voice The Osterhagen Key and the WarpStar fell to the ground as the transmat snatched Martha, as well as Jack and company to the Vault. Jack helped Martha to her feet.
"Don't move, all of you, stay still!" Shouted the Doctor out to them all
"Guard them! On your knees, all of you. Surrender!" Demanded Davros.
"Do as he says." Instructed the Master with annoyance
"Mum, I told you not to!" Rose whispered to her
"Yeah, but I couldn't leave you." Spoke Jackie back
"The final prophecy is in place. The Doctor and his children, all gathered as witnesses. Supreme Dalek, the time has come! Now... detonate the Reality bomb!"
"Activate planetary alignment field!" Commanded the red dalek again, the planets started to glow with energy.
"Universal Reality Detonation in 200 rels".
"You can't, Davros, just listen to me! Just stop!" Begged the Doctor he seemed to be doing most of the talking the Master was still flashing back to the time war and wondering what his son was up to.
"Nothing can stop the detonation, nothing and no-one!" laughed an insane Davros.
Back on the Tardis the new Doctor and Harry were getting everything ready,
"I'm going for shock value Harry you take out the crucible, Donna it's your job to cover me and help everyone into the TARDIS."
"Harry you know you will have to take out the reality bomb don't you, you can't just destroy it you need to take it all out." Spoke the new Doctor quietly and just as Harry was about to reply his vison blurred and he was facing his farther in the in-between,
"He will destroy all of reality not just your part, he is trying to become me a deity, this will not be allowed you hold all my power my son now is the time to use it and show him just whose son you are. I am your father who lives in death your dad and the Doctor help you live in life it is a balance for you my son, one I am happy for, people are afraid of me normally, but I am nothing to fear the only one I will never take is my son...But you could be left alone if that thing is allowed to transmit, you would have to join me in the inbetween until the next multiverse is born. As A Deity I can not act so freely on the mortal plain, but you can my son."
"Is that why you made me your son so I can act for you in life father?" Asked Harry upset at the thought.
"NEVER, I have never told you it all before, but I will now. As I know your trust in me is wavering I will tell you the whole truth, yes it was agreed that you would act as my agent on earth or within that universe, TIME interceded and I agreed to allow you to be born as you were but you would still act as my agent I am final I am the only true immortal and I have no attachments to anything why would I? All I do is end up taking it all to see it be reborn again you would carry out my will in that universe whether you liked it or not I didn't care, you were to become my agent and so you would, end of story. That however, all that changed on the night of the 31st of October of 1981. I was there that night. I am not always there when someone or something dies, generally only when it's something that will change the world or when one of my Hallows is about to change hands. Seconds before James Potter died I knew that one of my Hallows was about to get a new owner so I appeared immediately to the person who would next possess it. You can't imagine my surprise when I saw that the one that would possess the Hallow was a toddler, not even a child, a toddler. I knew what you were meant to become but even I didn't expect you to survive that curse when it was sent at you, it shreds the soul I honestly thought looking into the timeline I would need a new agent for that universe. However, that didn't happen and in front of me was a toddler that had done something that mortals considered impossible. I was quite surprised, I had thought that the power to do it had died out long ago as I explained and taught you at seventeen you are a full elemental. Though it surprised me it wouldn't have been enough to keep my interest. No, what kept my interested was the fact that the toddler could see Me.
I stayed with you till the half-giant came to get you and I could have let things end there. I could have attributed the fact that you could see me to the Avada Kedavra. However, it wasn't that simple. Through the connection you had with one of my Hallows you had a connection to me and every night I could feel you calling me. The first few weeks I ignored it, I don't think you even knew what you were doing, though one night I went. After that night I went again and again, till I was going practically every night. And when it became necessary, I stayed the whole night with you, taking care of you."
"It was you!" Null said, "You were the one who healed me, when the Dursleys beat me, or when I was burned."
"Yes, it was me. I was with you as much as I could. But you grew up and you erased me from your mind. You thought I was an imaginary friend and ended up believing that it was all your imagination, then because of the Dursleys you started to not think about anything that wasn't 'normal', so you forced yourself to forget me. However your soul never forgot, your soul always remembered me. I still watched over you every night, even if you could no longer see me.
Then when you finally used the Hallow for the first time, I noticed the difference immediately. The Hallow belonged to you, it was as much yours as it was mine, something that had never happened before. After seeing the difference in that Hallow, I went to look at the others. There was a difference as well. Usually, the Hallows had two connections. However, in that moment there were three. One with me, one with the current holder and one with you.
I have to admit to being rather shocked. The Hallows are a part of me and for them to have that kind of connection with you would only be possible if you were also a part of me, or I apart of you. I was never sure about how it happened, but when you called and I answered, we sealed our fate, and you were out of Life's grasp. The wolde of time changed around us both and continued to change.
After I realized that, I noticed that I had feelings, emotions, for you. I had parental feelings towards you and what father wants to see their child die?
When you appeared to me before I've always told you what you need to know never forcing you to think differently I wanted you to live a long and wonderful life supported by your dads, keeping you grounded in life when you need it, I told you I could bring you here to me if you needed me but the truth is you could always get to here you were just scared of that fact, so I never told you only telling you your powers would grow which they will, you are my son Null, I love you too much to let you fall apart. Or break down because of your immortality, I will always be here for you if you need me." Taking what could have been hours or seconds to allow Null to absorb everything he had just been told, before he continued.
"However we need to discuss something else, the daleks they are to be destroyed. Both TIME and I have agreed they cannot be allowed to set that bomb off even LIFE is asking for my assistance to ask you to help her that is a fully fledged dalek empire they are the heart of what caused TIME to lash out. Kill them son as I know you want to for what they are putting your dad and stepdad through, they are ripping them apart and this will have consequences on the Doctor the most, you MUST remind him of free will as well as his compassion, I am glad to see the three of you getting on so well. Use your power over Death my son to help your dads. One last piece of advice, after you kill the daleks do not interfere in the Doctors timeline either of them this is necessary."
"I'm sorry father for doubting you I know what I have to do, and I know they will finally be at peace but to kill off a whole civilisation, I'm still scared about my powers"
"Only this civilisation and this is a full true dalek empire this is what they were in the time war. As for your powers I taught you how to use them and once you do even you will feel better I promise you little one. NOW go son, go with my love for you and with my strength in your heart, never doubt you are my son and I will always be here for you."
Just like that Harry was back and looking at the Doctor
"I know…..I'll handle the daleks you keep Davros busy and confused." Spoke Harry.
suddenly Harry hit a leaver and the whole of the TARDIS came back to full power. They had agreed between them to leave the breaks on it would make everyone know they were coming.
Harry had aimed for a position that was clear but near the two Timelords.
Everyone was shocked when she came into being even more so when the first one out was a copy of the Doctor carrying some try of gun running at Davros.
"What?" asked Rose
"Brilliant" Shouted jack
And then Davros raised his metal hand and fired electricity at the new Doctor stopping him in his tracks and causing him to fall sending the gun he had made up which only shocked people away from him, suddenly a forcefield surrounded him as well.
Donna came running out behind him and when he fell, she grabbed the gun.
"'I've got it but what do I do?" She shouted looking at the other Doctor in the forcefield the real one he looked confused.
Davros shot her with his metal hand and she fell. Then Harry slowly walked out of the TARDIS his probe ready to work.
Davros spotted him and before he could do anything he was behind a forcefield
"It might stop all the other but I'm sorry Davros I really am but I'm The Son" And with that he apparated through the higher dimensions to the other side of the field.
"That's not possible what are you?" Demanded Davros raising his hand ready to defend himself, but so was Harry even if his probe arm was against his side.
"Most people would ask the son of who? As for what I am, I am a psionic Timelord, my dads are the Doctor and the Master however it's my father you should be worried about Davros" spoke Harry in a very sad voice.
"HE is here HE is finally here the one above most is here, but one will still die today" Spoke dalek Caan in his mad voice
"I've heard prophecy before, it can be taken in many ways and can have many outcomes, also please shut up I can hear you all screaming in your mettle shells, they are not living they are surviving, and that is what you were trying to do Davros its all you've ever done survive, even today you will, but not you abominations…..No Father won't allow it"
"The Son of who? You are just a timelord with tricks"
"I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry, I really am, but my father is DEATH, not these two, at conception HE created me, I became to HIM a son, HE then as a father wanted me protected, still protects me throughout life to be HIS Son. To experience what He can't the mortal plane, and HE's not happy you're trying to kill off souls before their true time"
And with that Harry lifted his probe into the air and every Dalek died just like that, he didn't utter a word he didn't do anything other than lift his probe and focus his intent and will of DEATH power. No one saw it but they all felt it, it was a strange sensation, like it was new, but it was also so old, week as an old grandmother hug, yet as strong as an amazon at the heart of her prime, it was like the last hug of a loved one then all there was, was a feeling of peace everything was okay now it was all over. Just like that with the feelings every dalek died in that instant.
Even Davros' hand backfired and shocked him when he tried to fire at Harry he was using that much poinic power. He looked around in shock only him and dalek Caan remained
Pointing his probe at the roof the force fields dropped and the Doctor and Master ran to Harry hugging him he had a few tears running down his face they could see, he had just killed off the dalek race in one go, it was the only option the bomb had to be stopped but at such a cost.
Suddenly Donna came around
"Oh, my head, my head is full of new things and ideas, I could have blown all the Daleks up, why didn't I do it?"
"What you're?" asked the Master normally that was the Doctors line, but he was still a little out of it and was hugging his upset son. He let go of him after ensuring he was alright and pulled him and the Doctor over to Donna
"Part human! Oh, yes! That was a two-way biological metacrisis. Half Doctor, half Donna!
"The DoctorDonna! Just like the Ood said, remember? They must have seen this coming saw it coming! The DoctorDonna and The master, I thought they'd just commad it not meant it literally." Spoke a shocked Doctor holding onto Harry hand while following them
"Come on then, boys, we've got 27 planets to send home! Did I ever tell you best typist in Chiswick one hundred words a minute, now…..Activate Magnetron!"
"Stop this at once!" Demanded Davros he advanced menacingly, but Jack appeared with his gun and Rose's, that he threw to Mickey.
"Mickey!"
"You will desist!" Demanded Davros still in shock he had lost all his daleks but Mickey stopped him, pointing the massive gun at him.
"Just stay where you are, mister." Mickey informed him.
"Ready? And reverse!" Spoke Donna to the other four One by one, the planets disappeared from the Medusa Cascade, returning to their original location.
"Off you go, Clom." Spoke the Master with humour
"Back home, Adipose 3!" Spoke the new Doctor
"Shallacatop, Pyrovillia and the Lost Moon of Poosh, sorted! Ha!" Donna shouted pumping her fist into the air.
"Ha!" shouted the new Doctor the most in tune with her
"We need more power!" Spoke the Master concerned
"Is anyone gonna tell us what's going on?" Asked a very bemused Rose
"He (Donna gestured to the original Doctor) poured all his regeneration energy into his spare hand, I touched the hand, he (gestured to the new Doctor) grew out of that but that fed back into me. But, it just stayed dormant in my head till the synapses got that little extra spark, kicking them into life. Thank you, Davros! Part human... part Time Lord. And I got the best bit of the Doctor. I got his mind!
"So there's three of you? Three Doctors?" Asked Rose
"I can't tell you what I'm thinking right now." Spoke Jack winking at the three making Harry pull a face
"You're so unique the timelines were converging on you. Human being with a Time Lord brain."
"But you promised me, Dalek Caan! Why did you not foresee this?" Begged Davros, Dalek Caan just giggled on.
"Oh, I think he did. Something's been manipulating the timelines for ages. Getting Donna Noble to the right place at the right time." Spoke the Timelord Doctor
"This would always have happened. I only helped." Then Caan burst into another giggle.
"You betrayed the Daleks!" Demanded a shocked Davros
"I saw the Daleks. What we have done, throughout time and space, I saw the truth of us, Creator, and I decreed "No more!" He said at last.
"We're running out of power…and its gone. Typical it had to be that planet left" Spoke the Master.
"We'll use the TARDIS everyone in Sarah Jane! Rose! Jackie! Jack! Mickey! Master, Son." He stopped waiting for the other Doctor but he was looking at Davros and dalek Cann
"The Son said you would walk away today but every other dalek is to be destroyed" And with that he pulled a leaver and all the daleks including dalek Cann exploded in their machines even though they were dead they were totally unsalvageable now and the Timelord Doctor looked on in shock at what he had done the vault was on fire from all the explosions, the whole crucible was going to blow.
"What do you think you were doing, The Son killed them all off peacefully yet you explode their shells around them so nothing can be done…GET IN THE TARDIS NOW" the Doctor spoke shocked at the beginning seeing the devastation yes he knew Harry had killed them off but they had died in peace for once then his voice changed to that of an order and he wouldn't take any excuses. That explosion was going to cause the crucible to blow up as well.
He turned around and looked at Davros
"Let me save you, I can get you out of here!"
"Never forget, Doctor. You did this! I name you, forever... you are the Destroyer of the Worlds!" He screamed as he disappeared behind flames. The Doctor ran into the TARDIS pushing the other one further in really not happy with him.
He pulled a lever and the TARDIS shook violently as they took off. The Crucible exploded behind them going off like a bomb itself
"What about the Earth?" Asked Sarah always the particle one
"I'm on it" Spoke the Timelord Doctor looking around the new console and pulling a new screen around and tapped a few buttons into the new keyboard.
"Torchwood Hub! This is the Doctor! Are you receiving me?"
"Loud and clear! Is Harry, the Master and Jack there?" Demanded Sirius picking up the call.
"Can't get rid of them, I'll give you jack back soon, the other two I need to borrow for longer"
"Now, Torchwood, I want you to open up that Rift Manipulator. Send all the power to me."
"Doing it now, sir!"
"What's that for?" Asked Sirius watching Ianto do as he said he was
"It's a tow-rope. Now then, Sarah Jane, where is Luke?" Demanded the Doctor
"He's at home in the loft with Mr. Smith the computer"
"Calling Luke and Mr Smith! This is the Doctor. Come on Luke, shake your leg!" Luke ran to Mr Smith.
"Is Mum there?"
"Oh, she's fine and dandy...Now Mr Smith, I want you to harness the rift power and loop it around the TARDIS, you got that?"
"I regret, I will need remote access to TARDIS base code numerals"
"Oh, blimey, that's gonna take a while."
"No, no, no, let me!" Shouted Sarah and she ran to the monitor
"K9! Out you come!" K-9 appeared beside Luke.
"Affirmative, Mistress!"
"Oh, good dog! K-9, give Mr Smith the base code!"
"Master! TARDIS base code now being transferred. The process is simple!" spoke K9 The code appeared on Mr Smith. The Doctor walked around the console, giving instructions to everyone.
"Now then, you lot... Sarah, hold that down. Mickey, you hold that. Cos, you know why this TARDIS is always rattling about the place? Rose, that, there. It's designed to have six pilots. And I had to do it single handed. Martha, keep that level. But not any more! Jack, there you go, steady that. Now we can fly this thing... No, Jackie, no, no, not you, don't touch anything, just... stand back."
"Now we can do it like it's meant to be flown! We've got the Torchwood Rift looped around the TARDIS by Mr Smith, and we're gonna fly Planet Earth back home!" He took the navigation system which was the trickiest job on a TARDIS
"NO the reason we shake everywhere is because you leave the breaks on which you've given to Rose hopefully to release this is going to strain the TARDIS enough." Spoke up Harry cheekily to him, life seemed to be coming back into him and the Doctor gave him a small sad smile.
"Right then! Off we go!" He pulled a lever and the TARDIS started to move, pulling the Earth along behind it. Once the navigation was set in, he walked around adjusting people, helping the ride stay steady, the three of them could do this and keep her like this flying through space but in a TARDIS honestly it was just easier to move through the time vortex to the right time and space coordinates.
The Earth arrived back to its proper position. In the TARDIS, people laughed, cheered, clapped, everyone hugged everyone. Donna pushed aside Sarah from Jack to throw herself in his arms.
On planet Earth, people were celebrating too - Wilfred and his daughter hugged each other in delight, BBC News showed fireworks all around the globe with the headline "Earth returns home", Francine Martha's mother span in her front garden enjoying the sight of the blue sky and the sun. The TARDIS materialised in a park. The Doctor and Sarah emerged, they looked around to find everything back to normal.
"You know, you act like such a lonely man at times but that boy in there loves you. The Master is very protective of you and you have all your different companions You've got the biggest family on Earth!...I have to go I need to check on Luke and see if there is any damage. Don't be a stranger you don't have to come just when we need you." She gave him another hug and then looked over the road before running across it to her house.
"I told you, no teleport! And, Martha, get rid of that Osterhagen thing, eh? Save the world one more time" The Doctor, Jack and Martha were standing in front of the TARDIS. The Doctor sonicing Jack's wrist device.
"Consider it done." Spoke Martha, Jack saluted, and so did Martha. The Doctor seemed surprised for a moment, then saluted back. Jack and Martha walked away hand in hand.
"You know, I'm not sure about UNIT these days. Maybe there's something else you could be doing." The Doctor watched after them, with a touch of sadness in his smile. Mickey appeared from the TARDIS.
"Oi, where are you going?"
"Well I'm not stupid, I can work out what happens next. And hey, I had a good time in that parallel world, but my gran passed away. Nice and peaceful. She spent her last years living in a mansion. There's nothing there for me now, certainly not Rose"
"What will you do?"
"Anything! Brand new life! Just you watch." They knocked fists.
"See you, boss." He ran after Jack and Martha.
"Hey, you two." He shouted out to them
"Oh. Thought I'd got rid of you." Spoke Jack in mock aspiration.
"Just time for one last trip. Darlig Ulv Stranden. Better known as Bad Wolf Bay" Spoke the Doctor The TARDIS materialised on the beach.
Jackie, Rose and the new Doctor emerged.
"Ah, fat lot of good this is! Back of beyond. Bloody Norway! I'm gonna have to phone your father, he's on the nursery run." Spoke Jackie exasperated as they walked ahead, the Doctor, Harry and Donna came out of the TARDIS after them, the Master stayed in the doorway.
"I was pregnant, do you remember? Had a baby boy!" Spoke Jackie to the new Doctor
"Ah, brilliant! What did you call him?"
"Doctor."
"Really?" Asked the new Doctor taken aback
"No, you plum! He's called Tony." Jackie answered him with a smile on her face
"Hold on, this is... the parallel universe, right?" asked Rose confused
"You're back home." Spoke the Timelord Doctor
"And the walls of the world are closing again, now that the Reality bomb never happened. It's dimensional retroclosure. See, I really get that stuff now." Spoke Donna
"No, but... I spent all that time trying to find you. I'm not going back now I want to travel with you and your family like before!" Spoke a shocked Rose
"But you've got to. Cos we saved the universes, this reality cluster, but at a cost." Here while the Doctor was talking, he was looking at the other Doctor
"And the cost is him. He destroyed the Daleks. He committed genocide. He's too dangerous to be left on his own. Harry gave them a peaceful passing you all felt that but what he did can't be forgotten or forgiven."
"You made me!" Spoke the new Doctor in his own defence
"Exactly. You were born in battle, full of blood and anger and revenge…..Remind you of someone?" Asked the Doctor to Rose but she didn't answer.
"That's me, when we first met. And you made me better. Now you can do the same for him."
"But he's not you." She argued Back
"He needs you. That's very me." Spoke the Doctor with conviction
"But it's better than that, though. Don't you see what he's trying to give you? Tell her, go on." Spoke Harry gently to Rose while looking at the new Doctor.
"I look like him, I think like him, same memories, same thoughts, same everything. Except I've only got one heart."
"Which means?"
"I'm part human. Specifically, the aging part. I'll grow old and never regenerate. I've only got one life... Rose Tyler. I could spend it with you. If you want."
"You'll grow - grow old... at the same time as me?" she asked shook up
"Together." He told her. Confused, Rose touched him to feel his single heart. The Doctor, Donna and Harry watched them with small smiles, until a grinding sound came from the TARDIS.
"We've got to go, this reality is sealing itself off... for ever." The three of them started to walk towards the TARDIS the Master was still stood in the doorway. Rose ran after the three, grabbing hold of the Doctor.
"But... it's still not right... cos the Doctor is... still you."
"And I'm him!"
"All right. Both of you, answer me this. When I last stood on this beach, on the worst day of my life, what was the last thing you said to me? Go on, say it."
"I said, 'Rose Tyler'."
"Yeah, and how was that sentence gonna end?"
"Does it need saying?"
"And you, Doctor? What was the end of that sentence?" The new Doctor leaned to her and whispered it into her ear. Rose looked at him, then pulled him closer and kissed him. The Doctor watched them sadly for a moment, then he turned around and got inside the TARDIS, followed by the other two with Harry gently closing the Door behind him. Rose pulled away from the new Doctor as she heard the door closing, she ran towards the TARDIS but all she could do is watch it dematerialising. The new Doctor walked to her slowly and took her hand. They looked at each other and Grabbed each other's hand turning around to walk back to her mother.
"Thought we could try the planet Felspoon. Just cos. What a good name! Felspoon! Apparently, it's got mountains that sway in the breeze. Mountains that move, can you imagine?" Spoke Donna in a happy cheerful mood
"And how d'you know that?" Asked the Doctor gently
"Because it's in your head. And if it's in your head, it's in mine!"
And how does that feel?" Asked Harry with a look of sadness on his face
"Brilliant! Fantastic! Molto bene! Great big universe, packed into my brain! You know you could fix that chameleon circuit if you just tried hotbinding the fragment-links and superseding the binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary" She takes a deep breath.
"I'm fine!"
The Doctor watched her, sad but not surprised.
"Nah, never mind Felspoon. Know who I'd like to meet? Charlie Chaplin! I bet he's great, Charlie Chaplin. Shall we do that? Shall we go and see Charlie Chaplin? Shall we? Charlie Chaplin? Charlie Chester, Charlie Brown, no, he's fiction, friction, fiction, fixing, mixing, Rickston, Brixton..." She gasped and leaned against the console, holding her head. The Doctor, Master and Harry walked over to her slowly
"Oh, my God!" She shouted out while clutching her head
"Do you know what's happening?" Asked the Master gently even he got on really well with her.
"Yeah".
"There's never been a human/Time Lord metacrisis before now. And you know why." Spoke the Doctor gently to her
"Because there can't be." She turned away, unwilling to accept what was happening.
"I want to stay."
"Look at me. Donna. Look at me." Demanded the Doctor She turned back to him.
"I was gonna be with you. Forever." Spoke Donner her voice wobbling her eyes crying
"We know."
"Rest of my life. Travelling. In the TARDIS. The DoctorDonna." The Doctor, Master and Harry just watched her, their eyes full of compassion and sorrow. Donna suddenly realises what's coming.
"No! Oh my god... I can't go back. Don't make me go back. Doctor, please, please don't make me go back!"
"Donna. Oh, Donna Noble. I am so sorry. But we had the best of times. The best." Spoke the Doctor in a gentle voice She looked at him in despair.
"Goodbye".
"No, no, no, please!" She begged of him. He placed his hands on her temples and closed his eyes.
"Please, no, no!" Images from their adventures flashed backwards, ending with the moment she first appeared in the TARDIS.
"NO!" she screamed out as she fell unconscious all the Timelords memories of them removed from the start of her appearing in the TARDIS in her wedding dress.
Inside they heard Knocking on the Noble's door. Delighted, Wilfred ran to answer it.
"That must be her! Donna?" But when he opened the door, he saw the Doctor and the Master holding her and Harry stood to the side of them they were all soaking wet with the rain that was now pouring down the two stood on the doorstep, holding the still unconscious Donna in their arms.
"You!" he pointed at the Doctor recognising him then at Harry
"Help us." Begged the Doctor
"Donna? Donna?"
Donna was laid on her bed. Wilfred left the Doctor, Master and Harry alone with her, watching her sadly.
In the Noble's sitting room, the Doctor explained to Wilfred and his daughter what happened.
"She took my mind into her own head. But that's a Time Lord consciousness. All that knowledge, it was killing her."
"But she'll get better now?" Asked Wilfred not understanding the situation
"I had to wipe her mind completely. Every trace of me and us, or the TARDIS, anything we did together, anywhere we went... had to go."
"All those wonderful things she did." Spoke Wilfred upset
"I know. But that version of Donna is dead. (Leaning forward to stress his point) Cos if she remembers, just for a second, she'll burn up. You can never tell her! You can't mention us or any of it... for the rest of her life."
"But the whole world's talking about it, we travelled across space!" Spoke up Donna's mother she was shocked at what her daughter had been doing
"It'll just be a story. One of those Donna Noble stories, where she missed it all again."
"But she was better with you!" Spoke up Wilfred terribly upset at this
"Don't say that." Spoke Donna's mother annoyed
"No, she was!" Defended Wilfred she was a whole different person the two times she had visited him
"I just want you to know there are worlds out there, safe in the sky, because of her. That there are people living in the light, and singing songs of Donna Noble, a thousand million light years away. They will never forget her... while she can never remember. And for one moment... one shining moment... she was the most important woman in the whole wide universe." He spoke with reverence they could all see it on his face and in his defence Harry had told them about his father confirming all of the multiverse would go
"She still is. She's my daughter!"
"Then maybe you should tell her that once in a while." The Doctor spoke with some venom he had heard what Donna's mother thought of her through Harry.
The conversation broke up when Donna burst into the sitting room demanding to know what was going on with everything wanting to know how she had slept in her bed in her clothes. She didn't even really give a passing notice to the other Timelords in the room it was as though they weren't really there.
The Doctor tried one last time to say goodbye to Donna, but she just brushed him off again while talking on her mobile.
He returned to the outside the other two were waiting there for him and so was Wilfred.
"Are you three going to be alright on your own? I'll watch out for you," Wilfred spoke to all three of them
"You can't ever tell her!" The Doctor spoke with conviction
"No, no, no. But every night, you three, when it gets dark, and the stars come out, I'll look up... on her behalf. I'll look up at the sky and think of you. Thank you, all three of you." At that Wilfred saluted them all. They all nodded back to him then turned and taking Harry by the hand placing him in the middle all three walked back to the TARDIS. Wilfred watched still saluting as it disappeared with the breaks still on.
This is the end of book one if you want a book two let me know please all decent review welcome or even criticism but no nasties please you just make me feel sad for you which is impressive as I'm already bed bound disabled and always in pain but there you go!
