CLUMSY FLATTERER
Hello everyone..I'm happy that I survived another week and I intend to have a nice Sunday, by writing this small piece for you. At the moment, we are having a lot of fanfictions referring to the new movie, so I decided to write something which refers to the series. That should be a nice change.
Story summary: The Carsons are coming back to Downton from their honeymoon and Charles's welcoming words are not very flattering to Elsie. Will he be able to justify himself, when she will inquire why exactly he used those words in front of everyone?
Legal note: I do not own any of DA characters.
Coming back to reality, from their honeymoon, was like a very difficult moment for Elsie...She has been living in her private paradise during those short, few days. When she agreed to marry Charles and she had so many doubts, so many fears, about their future life together, especially concerning their intimacy, but now, after the honeymoon she had absolutely no doubts, that she made the best decision.
She felt like she has met Charles for the first time in her life, even though they knew each other for so long..If anyone asked her, did she know Mr Carson very well she would say yes, without any doubts. She knew Mr Carson very well and she liked, respected and loved him-all those feelings came gradually, during those years that they were working together. But she certainly didn't know Charles. Charles who was nothing like Mr Carson. While Mr Carson was stift, aloof, proud, stern and you could even say unkind sometimes, Charles was nothing like that...During those honeymoon days and nights, Elsie often wondered, did she actually marry the same man, that she knew before?
Charles was like a total opposite person to Mr Carson. He was still a gentelman, with conservative values, reluctant to changes, but other than that, he was as different as day and night.
He was sweet, delicate, tender, loving husband. Ever since the first moment, that they finally were alone, together, Elsie felt nothing but being loved and spoiled by him. He was so attentive, when it came to her needs. He constantly made sure, if she was all right, if she wasn't too cold, or too hot, if she wasn't hungry. He was always asking her opinion, about the way of spending their days-letting her choose, if she preferred to take a walk, or maybe have a coffee in the hotel restaurant.
He was helping her to get her coat, to open the door, to let her pass and thousand of all other small things, that really melted her heart, as she has never been treated with such attendance, by anyone in her life. Elsie was even asking herself, if he was like that before, when they were only co-workers, or did she just notice it now, because for the first time in her life, she had enough free time for herself, to think and analyze such details.
Charles was without a doubt caring about her during day time, but the night time was even better.. She was terrified in the beginning of their wedding night, so frightened, that she started to regret that she decided to marry him, but it lasted for about five minutes, before he took her in his arms and coddled her with the enormity and deepness of his love.
Elsie forgot the whole world, she forgot about existing reality and she had a feeling, that she even forgot her own name, when Charles took her to bed and showed her fully how much he loved her... Each of his kisses, his touches, his caresses, was like a piece of heaven...It was almost unbelievable, that such a big, strong man, could be so delicate and tender during their lovemaking..
The first night together, which was not always the nicest experience for women, was in fact the most beautiful moment in her life...Later on it was even better...
If Elsie had any sort of doubts, about the attractiveness of her body and God knows she had, she instantly got rid of those thoughts, when they went intimate for the first time...
Charles was cherishing her body, in a way that she couldn't imagine, even in her wildest fantasies, her most hidden desires, which she certainly had before they married, that he will be so enchanted with every little part of her...
Not only did he confirm with his words, how beautiful and precious she was to him, but he also let her know, that with his actions and each one of his touches, made her feel shivers, goosebumps and a desire to have more...He kissed and touched her in places, that she would never expected to be kissed and touched...He was doing things to her, that she may have dreamed of, but she lost hope of ever experience it...
Because of the way Charles was with her in bed, she reciprocated with the same level of tenderness, wanting to let him know, how dear and long awaited he was for her...She was taking care of him for years, doing all those little things, that wives do for their husands, but never in THIS way, as now...
When he has shown a full appreciation for her body, Elsie was more than willing to do the same. Even if Charles didn't have as many complexes as she did, or he wasn't showing it so openly as she did, she suspected, that deep down his mind, he must have been a little uncertain too about being attractive to her and she wanted to show him, that for her, he was the most appealing man on earth...
Those few days and nights, felt like the most beautiful dream, like the most precious things, that both of them have ever known...At least that's how it felt for Elsie...She was sure, that Charles shared her feelings...That he thought the same about their loveliest honeymoon...Neither of them were willing to go back home...They've even confessed that to each other, lying naked in their arms, the night before their return...
Elsie was the first one, who confessed that to Charles...She was blushing, thinking if it's not to bold to tell her newly wedded husband, that instead of going back to work, she would rather stay here, in bed, with him, all the time...She wasn't sure, how he was going to react for such racy confession, but he smiled mischievously and replied, that he would rather stay in this bed with her forever, than to do anything else...And added some few indecent things, whispered to her ear, which made her blush even more and led to the "encore performance"...
In the light of all this, Elsie had quite an unpleasant moment, when they actually returned to Downton and were greeted by the Downton staff and even the family, which was a pleasant surprise for both of them. What was unpleasant, was that when they entered the servants hall and Charles said :
"Home again at last. I feel like I've been away for months."
She was trying to relieve the tension, turning his words into a joke, by saying :
"Very flattering, I don't think", which of course made everyone laugh, but deep inside she felt extremely hurt by his behavior...Of course she understood, that they will not give away the details of the time they spent in Scarborough, those were their private moments, which were not meant to be shared with anyone, but those words coming from Charles, sounded like those last few days really didn't mean as much to him, as it did to her...
She was wondering for few days, if she should talk it over with him, or maybe leave it alone and the first option won...She decided to raise this question when they were lying in bed at night, enjoying their closeness, to which they got so used to during their honeymoon days and now they felt the lack of it, during those long days of work..
Charles was cuddling Elsie so closely and he played with her hair, while she was rubbing the base of his neck, evoking moans of satisfaction from him...
"Charles...I wanted to ask you something...I was hesitating if I should, but I really want to know this.."
"Elsie, you can ask anything you want..."
"When we...When we came back from our honeymoon and there was that little party in the servants hall, you remember..?"
"Of course I do...What about it?"
"When we came inside the servants hall, you said that you are home again at last and you feel that you've been away for months...It sounded like you were happy to go back and our honeymoon didn't really mean that much too you...At least that's how I saw it...Did you mean that Charles? You were willing to go back, rather than spend more time with me?"-Elsie asked, feeling that tears began to gather in the corner of her eyes and she felt a little silly...
Charles noticed that and he was terrified, thinking that again, he messed something up with his new wife...He was trying so hard, to show her how much he loved her, but his clumsiness sometimes won...His few words caused Elsie's pain and that was the last thing that he wanted to do..To cause her pain...
"Oh Elsie...My love...I'm sorry..I'm really sorry...I didn't mean to cause you any pain..."
"Then why did you say that? Why did you let everyone think, that our honeymoon was so insignificant to you?"
"Elsie it's not like that...Not like that at all..Those few days, were the most beautiful days in my life..I have never been so happy...I could never dream of being so happy, as a I was there, with you, loving you, in the most tender way I could...My darling...I never dreamed of such precious moments with you..I mean I've dreamed about it before, but I could never expect that we will have it.."
"So those moments meant the same to you, as it did to me?"
"Of course...Oh Elsie..You are the love of my life...The most wonderful miracle..."
"Then why? I don't understand..."
"Sweetie, when we were on our honeymoon, I forgot who I was...I wasn't the stern butler, I was your loving husband...What we had there, in Scarborough is so precious, so ideal, meant only for us...I would never tell anyone about our special moments...When we came back to Downton, I was so focused on not revealing anything about our most private moments, that I made this silly comment, just to go back to the stiff butler attitude...I wanted them all to think, that nothing has changed in me, when in fact everything has changed..."
"And what changed exactly Charles?"
"What changed, is that now, I have the most beautiful, the wisest and the kindest woman as my wife...The woman that I respected and loved in secret for years, but now, additionally, I have the honor to be the only man who can kiss, touch and caress you, to make love to you, to show you with every gesture, how much you mean to me...But this is only for us...We have to be Carson and Mrs Hughes at the Abbey, but here, in our cottage, in our bed, we can be husband and wife, two people who love each other so much...It's just for us...You understand what I'm saying?"
"I believe that I do...I want it to be something for us too Charles, only for us...I was just afraid, that maybe by saying what you said back then, you meant, that it didn't mean so much to you as it did to me..."
"Elsie it meant everything and even more...You are my wonder, the most important person in my life..."
Charles kissed Elsie's tip of nose and her temples lovingly, while saying those words and Elsie felt like all the tension has left her muscles and the well known feeling of warmth, love and security, has taken over her...She wanted to stay in Charles's arms forever and even though she knew it was not possible, she was aware, that she will never forget this moment...Till the end of her life...She captured Charles's lips, in the softest and most loving kiss...Running her fingers thorugh his thick hair, that she adored so much...
They spent few more moments on delicate kisses and caresses and Elsie whispered to Charles:
"Thank you Charles...For making me the happiest woman in the world...Even if I had to wait thirty years for that.."
"Thank you that you were willing to wait my love...Tell me, was it worth to wait?"
"It certainly was Charles...Without a doubt..."
Charles drew Elsie even closer and his lips started to mark his way, celebrating the routine, that they both knew so well by now, but were both so fond of and all Elsie managed to think, that her husband may be a very clumsy flatterer, but he certainly was the love of her life and the most fantastic lover, that she could ask for...That was before Charles started to do things to her, that effectively stopped her from having anymore coherent thoughts...
That's all for this silly, little fluff...As I mentioned, I decided to take a little break from writing about the new movie, although of course I do have few stories in mind. So far I'm enjoying all the wonderful new movie stories, coming from other very talented authors. I hope you liked this one and that it will give you a moment of joy, when you will read it, as it gave me the moment of joy, when I was writing it. Have a wonderful week and hopefully see you soon!
