For years after Harry died in the Battle of Hogwarts, Ron was the backbone of the Order. Now he's missing, taken, vanished from the Earth. Hermione perseveres with the help of the unlikeliest of Weasleys and together, they realize that there is more to this world than just staying alive. Because they are still living.

The Gaunts had another child, who was abandoned when they realized he was a squib. He was taken in by a muggle family and grew up to have children and grandchildren who were squibs, and a great-granddaughter who was a witch. Her name is Jane, and she becomes best friends with Neville Longbottom. This is their story, and they impact the story of Harry, Hermione, and the Weasley's.

After Voldemort is resurrected, Harry takes a more serious approach to his education and training so he can be better prepared for the next time they will inevitably meet. Dumbledore chooses not to ignore Harry in his 5th year, but instead decides to push up his planned training a year. Meanwhile a pretty Slytherin and Harry start running into one another and a friendship develops.
