Warning for violence and major character death in later chapters. The fic takes place some time after the Star One episode, and Jenna and Travis II are traveling together in Jenna's crew on a new smuggling vessel. How they got there I'll leave Jenna to explain in the prologue.

An introduction in Jenna's POV
It started off as a truce of sorts. One borne mostly from practicality, or at least necessity. But that's not quite where it started is it.
I was on the Liberator when the power went down and it was damaged. So was I. We all had to evacuate in life capsules.
Mine put down on Star One somehow. It became survival.
After that my capsule was damaged. I wasn't hurt badly but I was trapped.
Travis got me out in exchange for aid. Something he needed more than I did.
The homing beacon on mu pod was damaged, though. I doubt, the liberator could have picked me up.
Eventually a medical ship found us, checking for survivors. They seemed alright at first but there was something off. I couldn't place it.
He thought so too, while he was conscious anyway.
We waited long enough to make use of their medical expertise, but transferred to a cargo freighter on route to the outer worlds once I found a chance.
There was a small disagreement with the nursing staff about us leaving, but they didn't have the stomach for a heavy firefight so they let us go.
It makes you wonder what they wanted, but it's none of my business now were out of there.
I think it was just more cost effective to let us leave, given the damage we could have done.
The cargo ship was on its way to Morphenael. It had a communications system on board with a long enough range to signal the liberator. I was going to go back, I don't know. It all felt different now.
I didn't even know where anyone was. If the Liberator was still serviceable. I told them I wasn't in need of urgent pickup.
I had something I needed to do.
That's it. Story over.
