AN: Hello everyone! I decided to start another story. It's going to be an OC insert/reincarnation into the Naruto world with a male OC, born as one of the Naruto characters - though one that is rarely chosen for this spot. This is just a thing I do for fun. I'll focus more on changes to the storyline and less on character development so there will be a lot of time skips. Sections of the story will be written in 'summary style' because there is a lot of time to cover before canon even starts. The OC will be similiar enough to the character that he's reborn as that it can easily be read as a 'this character gained future knowledge/time travleed' story as well.
I know these kinds of stories have been done countless times and like I said, it is just for fun for me so I chose to do a tiny crossover with the Manwa 'Isekai Transporter' as the prologue.
'Isekai Transporter' tells the story of a truck driver who teams up with a displaced people from another world to work for various gods of different dimensions. His job is to kill people with his truck so they can get reincarnated into all those isekai manga you love to read. It's a fun bit of parody on the genre and I really recommend it. The two characters from the prologue won't show up after this though, which is why I didn't classify this story as a crossover.
On we go!

Prolog

"So what's it this time?" Bunrueng asked as he slipped into his seat behind the wheel of his lovely blue truck. He was a middle aged man, not particularly attractive and a bit roundish. He didn't have an awful lot of talent but luckily, his job didn't require that. All he really had to be good at was driving a truck and he could do that.

His assistant, Anna, slipped into the seat next to him to give him the mission details.

"Uh, let's see. There's a God of Death complaining about some other goddess trying to break out of her prison on the moon. He wants a hero who will help to stop her. It's a world where a lot of people have superpowers. They're called ninjas and are constantly at war with each other. They're also naturally suspicious so the hero will have to be reborn as an actual infant and train to be a powerful ninja and gather allies. He or she will be granted knowledge of all important events and people that will play a role in the future as it would happen without interference. You know, the old 'beam the knowledge of a story line into their heads so they remember it as if they've seen it in a movie or a book'." Anna flipped a page on her clipboard and continued:

"We need someone ruthless enough to deal with killing people as a ninja, brave or reckless enough to take on gods, smart enough to 'look underneath the underneath', whatever that means and adventurous enough that they'll like the world enough to want to save it. Gender, age and physical health doesn't matter, though it shouldn't be someone lazy. Spiritual energy translates directly into how much 'chakra' the hero will have once in the other world. Chakra is the basis of their superpowers, so the more the better but it doesn't have to be crazy high either. Apparently the more you have the harder it is to control. The selected host-baby would already grow up to be a hero under normal circumstances but still fail in the end. So our candidate will know more or less exactly what to do and what to avoid. The Shinigami needs the hero rather urgently because the baby he picked out as a vessel is about to be born tonight."

"No pressure then" Bunrueng grunted.

"I've already made a pre-selection." She showed him the next page on her clipboard, showing the picture and basic information of five candidates.

"These all have reasonably high spiritual energy. This one is your regular teenaged shut-in nerd who plays video games and might be interested in all the action. Average intelligence, poor physique, hard-working only when it comes to beating high scores.

This one is a medical student, high intelligence, a caring heart and decent physique. She works out regularly so not lazy either.

This one is a journalist from Europe, he's here on a job for some article. Hopefully that means he's curious or at least interested in global politics and stuff. Orphaned at a young age, so he's somewhat used to tragedy and he's not married, so no strong connections to this world. Above average intelligence, average physique and good levels of spiritual energy.

This one over here is a farmer, supported a family of five for years till his wife left him. He is already a bit suicidal so he might go for a fresh start to do something meaningful. Average intelligence, good physique.

The last one is a secretary, underappreciated by her boss, no parents but a sister and three dogs. High intelligence, good physique and with a certain fire that could help her out." Anna looked up at her colleague with a smile. "Well, what do you think?"

Bunrueng took the clipboard from her and looked it over. "Hm… I think intelligence is important for this one but so is a general willingness to put yourself in danger. Did the Shinigami mention what would happen to the world if the other goddess got free?"

Anna shrugged. "Basically, end of the world."

Bunrueng nodded. "Then the choice is clear. The medical student might get too distracted trying to save everyone. The secretary might work but ninjas are a basically a military branch, aren't they? They'll be all about orders and stuff. We need the hero to be extraordinary so someone who lets herself be pushed around that much by her job might not have what it takes to go against traditional hierarchy. Let's go with the tourist. A knowledge or at least interest in politics might be helpful. We don't have to worry about motivation. Just knowing the world will end if he doesn't do anything will want to make him take up the job."

"Okay then, the tourist it is", Anna agreed happily. "He's using public service to get around town. I'll show you the way."

Bunrueng nodded and started his truck. Anna told him where to go to get to the district where the journalist was right now. Then she slipped out for a moment – literally floated out through the front window, her form becoming slightly transparent. Fifteen minutes later she was back and gave him further directions. Bunrueng steered his truck forward and followed a bus. Anna pointed their victim – er, hero – out as he turned the corner. Then she floated up to him and passed right through him. The young man gave a shiver as if a bucket of ice water had been dumped over him and he stopped for a moment to look around confused. That moment was all they needed. He was far enough away from the next passerby now and the sidewalk was otherwise empty. Bunrueng accelerated, veered off onto the sidewalk – and the bumper, prepped with a state-of-the-art reincarnation device, hit the tourist, knocking his soul clean out of his body. The truck driver hit the brakes and drove backwards a few feet for good measure, making sure his client was really dead. Then he accelerated again and got the hell out there, ignoring the horrified shrieks of other nearby people.

"Well, that was easy" Bunrueng said when Anna slipped back into the seat next to him. "Keep a look out for sirens for me, will you?" It was the third job they'd done in this city, which meant it was time to move on to another anyway. A bit of varnish on the truck, a new license plate and he wouldn't even have to replace the truck. That was lucky. Working for various gods in various worlds did pay good but having to replace his truck all the time was not cheap either.

"Another job completed for the Isekai Transporter" Anna said happily and tucked away her clipboard. "Hey, what do you think about Indonesian for lunch today?"
