Mc's POV
With Penelope leaving last night and Nia joining the school, the number of students in my class only changed by one, with Landon not showing up.
"Does anyone know where is mister Kirby?" I asked, getting a few no's from every one. Though, if I remember correctly he was kidnapped.
"Well, with summer closing in, I would like this class to be a review on what's been learnt by now, and Nia," I said turning to the gorgon and smiling wickedly "you get to be their tester."
"Me?" She asked "but I don't know anything!"
"That's just it." I explained. "Each of them will be asked to explain things, if you have questions you ask them, as long as I taught the answer they should be able to explain it, if I didn't, I would explain it to all of you. Got it?" Nia nodded. "Well, let's begin with ms. Chang." I said, turning to Alissa. "What is alchemy?" I asked.
"Alchemy is the art of expressing science through magic, making it require more knowledge to use than regular magic but also have greater affects with less energy and having the capability to be used by any supernatural species to a different degree." Alissa said bored
"How can it be used by the different supernatural species?" Nia asked.
"Everyone who has magical energy in them can learn to harness it with effort." She explained.
"Great job." I said, smiling at the witch before turning to Wade. "How about Wade explaining us how we create a fire ball with alchemical spell as an example?"
The lesson continued with me asking the students questions and after they answered Nia asked what she didn't understand.
"Finally," I said when the class was about to be over. "I'm sorry to inform you I won't be here for the next few days, I have something to take care of, but meanwhile I want the class project to be helping Caleb and Nia access their energy." I could see the frowns on both Caleb's and MG's faces but before they could say anything Hope asked. "Where are you going?" I smiled at her. "To study something."
Hope's POV
I planned to stay after class to talk with Tony but both Caleb and MG stayed as well.
"Do you mind?" I asked them "We need some privacy."
"When are you planning on leave?" Caleb asked Tony, ignoring me. "I thought we had more time!"
"Yes, well, I found something yesterday in my research that changes everything, I can't waste time." Tony answered.
"What are you talking about?" I asked annoyed.
"The reason of my trip, Caleb and MG were part of the group that helped me research it." Tony explained. "I would have asked you, but with Hayley and Elijah back and Landon and you together, we didn't really spend time together." He told her with a small sad smile.
I felt guilty, I do leave him behind for a while, only being around him when needing help with monsters. I stayed behind to talk to him about my problems with Landon, but I shouldn't do that.
"Oh, well, what is the research about?" I asked, trying to not look like I only stayed for help.
"About replacing sacrifices." He said with a smile of an inside joke that hurt me, because for the first time since becoming friends I wasn't part of his inside.
"And I thought we weren't ready!" MG said, not looking well.
"Yes, we weren't," Tony said "but last night I found the last thing I wanted to know, making me have to go." His eyes clouded a little bit. "I will leave tomorrow morning." He said in a no-nonsense tone of voice before turning cheery. "But don't worry, I will still be in our other classes today." He said to Caleb and MG. "And speaking of classes, the next one is about to begin."
Leaving the classroom, I couldn't help but feel like something was wrong.
MG'sPOV
It was the last class of today and one of my favorites now- 'Don't be a nazi, a class for the 'superior beings' who needs humility' or supernatural philosophy 101, as it was the class of me, Tony and Caleb having fun together while Tony tell us hard truths about the world.
"Well class," Tony walked in with his wry smile. "Today we will see if truly learned the lesson here by playing truth or dare with a twist, as the bottle is enchanted to force anyone to say the truth or do the action until the game is over."
"Cut the crap!" Caleb said. "Today's class will be to-" "Caleb!" I stopped him. "This is better. We can play, after all," my eyes glanced at Tony. "Tony is part of the game himself." Understanding filled Caleb's face. "Oh, yeah sure, make us some milkshakes and let's begin."
Drinking the milkshakes, we started the game, with it landing on me first.
"OK MG, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"Have those lessons been helpful to you?" Tony asked.
"Yes," I said "of course they have, I have started to fully accept myself as a vamp, and no longer consider myself as a monster even though I killed Landon."
The next spin landed on Caleb. "Do you still believe vamps should do as they want? Consider humans less?"
"No man." Caleb sighed "Vamps should drink human blood, but disregarding the dangers humans made to counter us would be stupid, we are humans, we just have a little extra in us."
It was the fourth round when in landed on Tony.
"Why are you going?" Caleb asked "the third artifact hasn't been found yet!"
"Landon has been kidnapped." Tony confessed. "By my calculations, at the end of the day tomorrow, the third artifact will be thrown into Malivor and the supernatural apocalypse will begin, and the worst part is, that he could be anywhere, we weren't given a clue to where the third artifact is."
"Than why didn't you go already in search of him? Why wait for tomorrow?" I asked.
"Because I wanted one last day!" Tony shouted, throwing the bottle at the wall, shuttering it. "I'm not an idiot! I studied my options! Malivor will break free eventually, I just prefer to know when, which is tomorrow, so I could be there! I just wanted one last day to hang with you guys, one last day of talking to hope, one last day for myself before throwing it all away to save a world I didn't care about and about 15 people I do." He breathed "I just wanted a day, is that too much to ask?"
Caleb looked at me, and his eyes said the same thing as mine did.
"No, it's not." We smiled at him. "But if you are about to go, you should go in style." Caleb said "We are having a party."
Josie's POV
Getting the massage from MG that there is a party for Tony just a few minutes before it begun I found myself going to the forest clearing where the location of the party was supposed to happen only to see there the super squad minus Landon, my parents, and Hope's family.
"Where is Tony?" I asked.
"It's a surprise party." MG filled me in. "Just a little something to show our appreciation and love to him, plus a farewell."
"Isn't he going for just a few days?" I asked, wondering why a day or two without him require a farewell.
MG looked to the side and said "Yes, a few days, that's all."
"MG?" I asked
But before he could answer Tony appeared in the clearing.
"Surprise!" We all screamed.
And the party fully started.
Rick's POV
"I want to say a few words." Tony said, making the conversations stop.
"I know some of you don't want me to go, some of you don't know why I go, and some of you just except it." I couldn't help but feel shame, as I know he is about to sacrifice himself for Hope and I can't stop him, because I am aware he is the only one capable of doing it. "I know that to some I'm an eyesore, to some I'm like an older brother and to some I'm just a teacher, and most of all, I know that with my curse most of you will forget me, but I consider most of you as important to me, some more than others," his eyes looked at Lizzie for a brief moment and I could swear I saw anger in them but disregarded it as illusion. "All I want to say, is thank you." He finally looked at Hope, who seem too distracted to listen, making his soft eyes harden. "I'll never forget you, and I'll never forget this moment." He turned and left.
"Hope!" I called to her, making her turn to me. "Couldn't you listen to Tony? What was so important?"
"What? Tony's speech? We have bigger problems than that, I think Landon has been kidnapped!" Hope said franticly.
MC's POV
If there is one benefit to reincarnation into a TV world is that you know the future.
Of course, at this point of time I can't remember much, Malivore, the Necromancer, the merging, those are the main things I remembered from the show I watched a life time ago.
I should have remembered the attack of humans at the school.
Finding out I can't access regular magic because someone made a blood fountain somewhere at school was unexpected, I mean, who could have made it?
Blood fountains are like a lesser version of the spell travelers used to make mystic falls magic-free.
They work by instead of draining magic out of magical beings by disrupting the automatic conversion a spell do when it is being casted, making magical artifacts useless, and spells even more so.
Of course, I still had three ways around that.
The first was to drain the magic from the blood fountain, making it useless, but that has risks as it will take time and can have the students hurt in the meanwhile.
The second is to attack with my tribrid speed and strength, as I don't have weakness to sunlight, and wouldn't be hurt.
The third is to use alchemical spell, as those spells work without the automatic conversion, instead You have to consciously guide the energy to the wanted result.
I could hear the humans taunt my students, but I played no mind to them, instead focusing on the humans, their heartbeat I could hear, and did a spell I hoped to never use.
"Students!" I called, drawing attention from all. "This is a perfect example for my class! Never underestimate an opponent."
"Yeah, listen to your teacher," the captain said "don't both-" "no, I'm sorry," I said. "I meant it the other way." I unleashed my spell, causing all the solders to drop as their heart exploded while unleashing a slowing barrier around us to prevent any accidental shooting from hitting the students. "Call Rick now!" I said, snapping them out of their shock as I fell to the ground exhausted, unlocking my magic-draining ability to get my energy back.
"Tony! Are you OK?" Rick's voice appeared from behind me.
"Too many people." I gasped. "Blood fountain! Find it!" Finally, I couldn't hold it anymore and lost consciousness.
Hope's POV
"Tony is exhausted and we truly don't have time to waste! We need to go! Landon might be at risk!" I can't wait for Tony to recover before we go rescue Landon.
Dr. Saltsman seem to be straggling with an answer to that before saying "let's go."
As Dr. Saltsman drove, all I could think of was that Landon needed me, and that I'm on my way.
Tony's POV
Hearing Hope's demand to go save Landon while disregarding my state of weakness made my resolve strengthen as I knew I do the right thing.
My existence in this world doesn't seem to change anything, sure, I managed to give some people their life back, and MG is on his way to become free of his crush about Lizzie, but it's like nature tries to correct everything to its original course.
There is one thing I can change though, one life I can make better, life I made promise to myself I would improve, one person who I want to know will remember me when everyone else don't.
Hope.
But before I did it, I had to get an answer to my question.
It is why I was hiding in the car as they drove to Malivore, why I stayed back as Hope had talked to Landon before making him sleep.
It was why I couldn't wait any longer.
"I never stood a chance, didn't I?" I asked her as a shield prevented her from moving.
"What? What are you talking... no, it's not important, let the shield go Easton, before it is too late." She said, calling me my full name as to show me its serious
"Too late for what?" I asked laughing though there was nothing funny about the situation. "Too late for letting you sacrifice your life?!"
"You don't understand, I was born for this moment." She tried to explain.
"Bulshit!" I screamed. "the only reason you were born is because your parents had unprotected sex!"
Her face reddened hearing that, and I couldn't help but laugh again
"But we only have five minutes before Malivor is free and I don't want our last conversation to be about your parents' sex life." I said
"So you will let me out?" Hope said, with relief in her voice.
"Not before you answer my questions." He said "Did I have a chance? Did you ever see me?"
The questions seem confused her.
"Of course I saw you! You are my best friend!" She said, showing me she never saw me as anything more.
A moment of silence was overcome by a bark of laugher that came out of my mouth.
"I see, only a best friend." I could feel how my smile was twisted, but I couldn't make it real no matter what.
"You know? The last 6 months taught me something, we aren't best friends, best friends are supposed to be mutual, but instead it is only me who always there for you!"
I could see She didn't know where it all came from, making me angry at her for the first time.
"Where were you when I found out I was from the Gemini coven? That I merged with my unborn twin brother? Where were you when I found out I killed my mother?"
She looked shocked.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked.
"I wanted to, but every time I tried there was an incident with a monster or a fight with Landon! No, you aren't my best friend, a true best friend is supposed to know when their best friend is having hard time."
Tears started flowing from her eyes.
"It wasn't all bad." I amended, feeling bad for making her cry. "You were the only one that noticed me in this world, the little boy in the corner of the library who was ignored by all. All this time, the curse that seems to follow me, the one that made me an observer to the world, you saw right through it.
The day you first came to me, talking to me Without me needing to actively suppress me curse, that was the day I fell for you, the day last year, when you told me you see me, that's the day I fell for you."
The shock on her face was evident, making me laugh again.
"I know, best friend crush? What a cliché. Too bad it's true. Not that it matter, I tried everything, fighting monsters in your place, making your family return to life, everyone else saw it, but not you! And now you are next to Malivor, about to do what I knew you would do the second you knew the way to stop him."
"I'm sorry, I don't know." Tears kept coming out of her eyes.
I managed to to calm down, only saying "It doesn't matter."
And in a way it didn't, why would it? Whether my plan would work or not, memories about me would disapear from everyone else, and Hope would continue her life happily, with her family and Landon.
"I guess it doesn't, ah?" She answered.
"Read the latters, bring my advices to everyone, remember me!" Was all I said, taking out a stack of them and before she had a chance to ask what's happening I changed my face to the hybrid one.
"You are a tribrid like me." She breathed out.
"Close." I told her "I'm a born witch/werewolf hybrid who has the will to keep to you safe and had the help of your family in doing so."
"No!" she said. "Don't do it! It's my destiny, not yours!"
"Fuck destiny." Was all I said, before running to the balcony's edge and jumped.
