Bringing Klaus Mikaelsson back to life is harder than bringing anyone else to life for one reason only- the hallow.
Sure, I'm more or less the hallow's equal in the mystical arts, and with my body, since the moment I became a tribrid was capable of handling the magic needed to summon him from beyond the grave, but just thinking of the hallow taking over my body sent me shivers.
But now it's different.
I've siphoned parts of Malivore and combined his power of devouring with my siphoning, finally reaching the state of a perfect siphoner.
I was finally capable of siphoning the hallow.
But I didn't want that.
The hallow is so powerful that making my body siphon her like that might create an entire change to my DNA, making me lose my other species and become a witch.
No, to do the resurrection correctly and gain control of the hallow, I needed more than just siphon her, I need to create a prison to trap her in and slowly devour her power and being, and I have the perfect ones.
It took three weeks of study to create the right spell, a spell that will cost me almost three entire beings that are trapped in me.
Two alchemical spells were all it took to change the earth of the part of the forest I prepared for the ritual into crystal, after which I used my vamp speed and strength to curve the runes I needed into it.
A day later, after making sure I was well rested, I used my spirit eyes to look into the bright world, find Nicklaus, and pull him back.
There are two kinds of resurrections according to the Necromancer, willing and unwilling ones.
Willing ones are done with their body next to you, stuffing them into their body and making it run on your magic.
Unwilling ones work the same way, only that instead of using their body, as they are unwilling to return, you are making them a body from scratch and force them into it.
My previous resurrections were willing ones.
Both Elijah and Haley weren't against living.
Klaus on the other hand? He fought.
But he was a powerless ghost, battling with the hallow inside the bright world.
And I was a Necromancer, not the, a.
I summoned him to our world and crafted him a body as I chanted to activate the rune circle, sacrificing the Actiorione, Leprechaun and most of Photos' essence in exchange of making their tattoos into a prison for the hallow, making the trident, coin and first set of wings tattoo to disappear and two other tattoos to appear.
The first tattoo was where the wings tattoo was, and instead of shape of a heart, bow, arrow or wing, it was in the shape of a heart that you draw for Valentines - a butt and it contains the remains of Photos essence, and the second tattoo had appeared on my chest which was two shadow claws that seem to stretch to infinity.
Finishing the ritual, a pissed off Original Hybrid chocked me as he pushed me against a tree.
"What have you done?" His eyes changed just as mine are capable of, black with glowing eyes.
Usually, I would have pushed him away with magic, but I was drained from the ritual, so, instead, I let my face change into the hybrid form and pushed him away with my strength.
"You think you are something special little boy? You are a hybrid maybe, but you just summons the original-" His eyes opened in shock "Wait! You are a tribrid!"
"Yes, I am, and you should thank me for bringing you back alive you know!"
"Are you my grandson?" He asked, ignoring my words.
"Hahahaha, your grandson!" I laughed. "That's a good one, no, I used to be a friend of Hope, and the reason you are alive now is to fulfill a promise to her. As for the hallow, don't worry, I trapped it and sooner or later she will be gone."
"You mean... I'm free?" Klaus asked, looking relived and a bit lost.
"Yes," I rolled my eyes and threw a bracelet to him. "Go, find your daughter, your brother Elijah and her mother are with her, be there when she needs you, oh and fill the bracelet with magic every week, you know, to stay alive." I finally felt the resistance of the old me's personality fade away as I was finally in full control of myself.
I'm the magic lover, training maniac, fun loving Easton Magus, and I'm here to stay.
"You must be a very good friend to her to go through all that trouble for her, why not come with me?" He asked and I laughed again.
"No, I just fulfilled my promise to her, I need to be going but maybe we will meet again soon"
"Do you have a massage to give her?"
I pause for a second and thought.
"I only completed 40% of my grand plan, ask her if I'm still worth to be remembered."
Klaus' POVPutting the bracelet on, I used my speed to run into the nearest town and went toward the first person I saw, a young lady, compelled her to give me her phone and called the one number I could never forget.
"Hello?" Her voice made me almost break as it finally drowned on me it's all real.
"Hope?" I chocked
"D-Dad?" She recognized me.
"Hey angel, I'm back."
"How is that possible? Tony is gone! Is it the Necromancer?" She muttered to herself.
"Someone resurrected me." I said "A tribrid like you."
"Tony!" Her shock was even stronger now. "Is he next to you?!"
"No, he is gone. Why hope, is he dangerous?"
"I-it's a really long story dad, can you come to mystic falls? I will call the rest of the family here also."
"Yes, I'm not far away, I'll be there in 3 hours."
"I-I love you dad."
"I love you so much my princess."
Hope's POV
Dad is alive, Tony escaped Malivore, dad is alive, dad is alive.
"Mom!" With today being the last day of summer I was still home. "Dad is alive!" My mother and uncle Elijah ran as quick as possible.
"Nick's alive?" My uncle asked.
"He called me." I nodded "He said Tony resurrected him."
"Tony? As your forgotten friend that was totally in love with you, Tony?" My mom asked. "But He jumped into Malivore! Does it mean it didn't work?"
I cringed at that.
It was hard enough to deal with the fact that I was oblivious to the not so subtle hints of his love to me without being reminded about it. And being reminded he transformed himself into a tribrid just so he would be able to sacrifice himself in my place didn't make it easier, especially as I can't be angry about those that helped him- AKA my family, as they don't remember him.
"Yes that Tony." I said my smile slipping from my face for the first time
"We need to call my siblings." Elijah said, looking at my mother meaningfully, before running away with a smile on his face.
"How are you feeling honey?" My mother asked.
"Great!" I said, forcing a smile back to my face by thinking about my dad. "How can I not be? Dad is alive and Tony survived!"
"You know, you can be glad about them being alive and still feel weird."
"It's just... He was like an imaginary friend, someone only I could see, only I remembered, for so long! He was there for me when you all died, whenever I needed help, and always with a smile." Tears started to put out of my eyes. "But I never noticed how those smiles became fake whenever Landon was the topic, never listened to his troubles. How am I supposed to look at him again? How am I supposed to deal with the fact that my best friend is in love with me?"
"Sweetie, you don't owe him to fall in love with him." Mom said. "Don't I?" I yelled in desperation "He was there for me the whole way, he brought you guys back to life, he most likely dealt with the hallow, oh and he gave his life for me! How can I not love him?"
"Do you?" Was all She asked.
"I don't know!" I through my face on my hands. "Before He said anything I told Landon I love him, but now, I'm confused. Why does it have to be so complicated?"
"Because that's life, it's messy, full of trouble and Heartache. But it's also full of light, joy and magic, I can't tell you who to choose, but I can tell you I'll support you no matter what." She hugged me.
"Thanks mom." I said, hugging her back
Klaus' POV
With hours in a car I compelled from another person, I had time to finally think about what happened today.
I resurrected and separated from the hallow by a tribrid who is not my daughter but who Hope knew about.
The tribrid, who Hope recognized as Tony, did it to keep a promise he made to Hope.
Hope seem anxious to hear about him, so either he is dangerous or missing, maybe both.
The tribrid have some grand plan which is halfway to completion.
All those things pointed to a disturbing conclusion that Tony is someone after his daughter, but Klaus couldn't help but remember one disturbing thing.
His eyes.
Living as a vampire for a millennia gives you a certain ability to identify Vampires who flipped their emotional switched, and for the first time since the 15th century, I couldn't tell.
The man seem to be free from attachment yet the light in his eyes didn't disappear.
I don't know what's wrong with that man, but something does.
Reaching to the address Hope texted to the phone I stole from the woman, I knocked.
"Brother!" I was engulfed by the brother who the last time I saw died with me.
"Elijah!" I returned the hug. "Its good to see you again!"
"Nick." Hayley stood with a smile behind Elijah. "We all know you have this incest thing between you two, but I would like a hug too." I laughed and gave her a hug too.
"Where is Hope?" I asked.
"She's talking a shower, you were only supposed to arrive in half an hour."
"Dad!" I got jumped at by my 17 years old daughter.
"Princess! I'm so happy to see you are ok!" I said, hugging her, and everything felt right in the world.
Yes, there might be trouble, but we will do it together, always and forever again.
"So let me get it straight." I couldn't believe what my daughter was messing with.
"All mythological monsters are real and were swallowed by a golem called Malivore that the three supernatural species created to imprison them, and when Malivore, who was trapped by witches, created a body that in adulthood would help free it and could be used as a vessel, Nature helped create you to destroy Malivore." Hope nodded. "And your 'boyfriend'" I said the word with as much disgust i could "is that vessel, so when Malivore became free You were about to sacrifice yourself, only to be stopped by your best friend Tony, who found out about you being the counter to Malivore way before you and transformed himself into a tribrid to take your place?" I rubbed my forehead. "I have a few things to say about all that." My eyes sharpened. "You are grounded! Forever!"
Hayley and Elijah broke in laughter.
"What's so funny?! She was about to sacrifice herself."
"It's just that," Elijah stopped laughing to explain. "She was already grounded for two months with two months to spare."
"Well, good!" I said. "Moving on, I want to tell you that nature has nothing to do with your birth, or were you not taught about the bees and birds?" Her face became red instantly. "Dad!"
"But even if nature helped creating You, why not imprison Malivore instead?," I asked. "Surely a school with so many witches could gather enough of them to create a container?" Hope shook her head. "No, the moment Malivore gathered the three artifacts He was about to break his seal, and as a being who isn't alive every dimension We create will have one of him already in him." I felt like a loophole of sorts exists there, but I couldn't tell exactly what. "Never mind that for now, let's move to my next problem. Tony told me his grand plan is only 40% done, if his grand plan is to destroy Malivore, it would mean he failed." The news made the three of them look grim. "And one other thing, this Tony, there was something weird about him, he didn't feel like someone who failed his plan, but someone who is free, from everything, I fear something happened to him."
"Where is He?" Hope's eyes glowed as she seem to go a bit feral.
"I don't know, he said that we will meet soon." I said, and I couldn't help but feel maybe I shouldn't revoke his massage to her. "He told me to tell you he only completed 40% of his grand plan, to ask you if he's worth to be remembered." Hope seemingly had enough as she ran upstairs, I wanted to go after her, but I had one question I had to surface before that.
"Stop Hayley!" I told her as she was about to go upstairs to comfort her. "There is another problem." She stopped. "If Hope was created by nature as the counter to Malivore, if nature always wanted her to reach the point where she was willing to sacrifice herself, could it have manipulated her emotions?"
"You are saying..." my big brother didn't seem capable of competing the sentence.
"I don't know that Landon guy, but don't you think it's a bit odd how she fell in love with a human who she had one conversation with instead of, by the pictures, handsome best friend who did everything she asked for including bringing her mother back to life, usually those things cause a bit of a crush at some point, don't they?" The horror on their face made it clear they understood. "Now, I think Hope should never date anyone, ever!" I said with a resolute voice and a small smile. "But, if she does date, I want to make sure she isn't being manipulated by someone into it."
"Well, we have a video call from the rest of the family after that, so we can all Kol and Freya."
My smile grew at that. "It would be great to see them, but for now, I need to comfort my daughter." I said, and made my way to the stairs.
