- ( 3 YEARS LATER ) -

Konohagakure no sato has returned to normal. It has been around 3 years since any incidents have happened in the village, which were the Uchiha Massacre, and the change of the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki.

Over the past 3 years, Naruto didn't slack off when it came to his shinobi training, if anything he pushed himself even harder than before. This is what Kakashi observed of his little brother figure as he watched from the shadows.

Kakashi had watched Naruto through 3 of his birthdays. All the way from the age of 8 to 11 years old recently. One of the most noticeable changes that Naruto had was his personality, which was even more quiet than his already subdued actions. Though it was clear that Naruto had become more cold and serious to others, he still had his sense of respect and formalities to those who had high social standings or were strong.

Before, in the Academy Uchiha Sasuke was always top of the class by a landslide, and at the time the Uchiha boy didn't even have a strong goal to strive for to achieve his position. But now even with his desire to kill his older brother Itachi to get revenge, and his need to get stronger, he was surprisingly only in second place in class, close behind Naruto.

Ever since Naruto had found a real reason for his existence to continue and strive toward becoming the best shinobi he could be, he has trained harder than ever and has seeked to improve his skills as a shinobi in every aspect. This included Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, Bukijutsu, and even Fuinjutsu which he seemed to have found an interest in, after reading about it in the library.

Though the one vital key component to being able to strive in all of the shinobi arts, was chakra control. One thing that Kakashi was impressed on that Naruto realized, was his understanding that due to his above average chakra reserves, his chakra control was worse than others. So of course, the first thing that the young white haired boy began training in was chakra control.

Due to his limited knowledge in training techniques, Naruto simply continued to perform the leaf balancing exercise with dozens of leaves all of over his body all at once, which he repeated every day, to keep his control in check.

One thing that Hiruzen was worried about was that, since Naruto had experienced the influence of the Kyuubi's chakra and power on two separate occasions, he feared that Naruto would obsess about it and attempt to control it.

But Kakashi realized that wasn't the case, in fact, it seems that ever since his last Kyuubi influence in the hideout, Naruto seemed to hate the chakra and wanted to become a stronger shinobi without the need of relying on a borrowed power.

Another discovery of Kakashi's over the years was Naruto's innate sensory ability. He had observed Naruto use his sensing ability on multiple occasions which reminded him of Minato-sensei. Though he realized that the ability still needed work, considering Naruto was still never able to sense Kakashi who had been watching him train.

Ever since Naruto began to increase his chakra control, he began to get into Ninjutsu training. At this point, which was still around an entire year before he is planned to graduate, he has already mastered the 3 required basic jutsu, Bunshin no jutsu, Henge no jutsu, and Kawarimi no jutsu. One thing that Kakashi saw though, was that Naruto had an impressive mastery of Kawarimi no jutsu, and was capable of using the jutsu without the use of any hand seals, which was quite the feat from an academy students.

Not only did Naruto train in the basic 3 academy jutsu, but he even recently began delving into elemental ninjutsu. Kakashi saw Naruto experiment with a couple basic elemental jutsu from each element to discover which were easiest. He first tried Katon jutsu, and while he didn't fail to summon any fire for the jutsu, it wasn't as easy as Naruto wanted it to be, so he continued testing. He attempted Doton, and barely even made any of the ground move with his molded chakra so ignored Doton. He tried Futon, and didn't even get any results. He tried Suiton and performed considerably better than his Katon jutsu.

And finally, the surprise was his success with Raiton. When he attempted the simple D-Rank jutsu for experimentation with lightning, he performed the jutsu as if he had used it multiple times before, which shocked Kakashi. After accumulating the results of his elemental ninjutsu training, both Naruto and Kakashi saw that Naruto had a strong Raiton affinity with a minor Suiton affinity as well, though that was just a hypothesis. Kakashi suspected that Naruto had inherited the Raiton nature from Minato, and the Suiton nature from Kushina.

When it came to close-combat and taijutsu training, Naruto was able to get the hang of the academy style with ease, but it was clear that Naruto felt uncomfortable with the stances and katas. Because of this, Naruto attempted to search for other taijutsu styles but never had any success, so he began to attempt to create his own, which consisted of fast precision strikes, evading your opponents attacks, and mixing up your attacks with both his hands an his legs.

Another surprise to gray haired ANBU was Naruto's unlikely success with genjutsu. While Naruto definitely wasn't especially talented with genjutsu, he was still capable of detecting and using a basic low C-Rank genjutsu once. Though Naruto's fighting style wouldn't use genjutsu a whole lot, it is still a useful skill that is possible only because of his chakra control training.

Even before Naruto's extra motivation, he had always been proficient in Bukijutsu and Shurikenjutsu. Though he still proceeded to increase his skill and techniques, and has practiced with all sorts of different weapons and blades. His skill with kunai and shuriken has reached a high level and even learned how to slightly change the trajectory of his projectiles while in flight.

When Naruto visited the library on multiple occasions, searching for ninjutsu, techniques, and taijutsu styles, he discovered another form of shinobi arts in sealing, fuinjutsu. Naruto had read about the art of sealing, and for some reason he was extremely interested, but his new found passion for a shinobi art that he has never even attempted has been halted, as any techniques or texts that were for fuinjutsu were restricted for shinobi that are the rank of chunin or above.

Alongside all of the changes and progression that Naruto made, were the changes in his appearance. Kakashi had somewhat began to miss Naruto's vibrant red hair because it reminded him of Kushina. His now white hair had grown to a point that it resembled Minato's. Eventually, a couple months after his leave from the hospital, his pale skin regained some of its color and was now of a fair skin complexion. His dull silvery purple eyes were always sharp and could pierce anyone he looked at. Those eyes truly did make Kakashi see Minato in him, it reminded him of his sensei in battle.

Umino Iruka was continuing with his lesson, and was having a good day, as today, the students were relatively quiet, and attentive.

In the back corner, Naruto simply looked out the window, while half listening to the lecture. Naruto then suddenly felt the eyes of someone staring at him and looked down near the front of the class and saw Sasuke narrowing his eyes at him.

The Uchiha boy was observing the white haired Namikaze for one main reason in mind. He didn't understand how Naruto was stronger than him. Well it wasn't confirmed that he was stronger, after all, the two of them have never fought each other before. But according to the class rankings, Naruto was stronger than Sasuke.

'What makes him so strong? Is it that same pain? What drives him? What does he have that I don't?' Sasuke questions himself.

What the young Uchiha doesn't know is that the both of them are relatively close, when it comes to skill and strength. The only thing that Naruto truly has the advantage on him was his speed and his academic scores are slightly higher.

'If only I had my Sharingan, then there would be no doubt that I would be stronger.' The brooding Uchiha thought to himself.

"Alright that's it for today, make sure to study for the upcoming quiz. Class dismissed." Iruka announced.

The class began to flood out of the room all at once. Naruto slipped through the hallways between the crowds of students and made his way towards the training grounds, and was aware of a pursuer due to his sensory ability.

Once the Namikaze reached the training grounds which he regularly visited, he closed his eyes in concentration. 'Who is this pursuer that is following me?' Naruto questions as he then begins to feel the nearby chakra signature.

Dull Silvery Purple eyes slightly widened in surprise that his watcher was the last Uchiha. 'What is Sasuke doing? Why is he following me?' Naruto thinks in confusion.

"Come out. I know you're there, Sasuke." Naruto announces out loud.

A ruffle comes from the bushes as Sasuke walks out and stares down Naruto. 'How did he sense my presence?' the Uchiha questioned.

"What are you doing here, Sasuke? I know that you aren't one to do something like this without a good reason." Naruto said.

"I wanted to know how you were stronger than me, so I followed you to see how you trained." Sasuke told him, knowing that lying wouldn't help him.

The two of them continued to stare down each other, attempting to see who would blink first.

It was Sasuke.

"You probably think that I'm stronger than you according to the class ranking system, right?" Naruto asks.

A raised eyebrow showed the confusion from Sasuke. "What's your point?" Sasuke questions him.

"Just because a class ranking system says so, doesn't mean it's correct. You should be smart enough to know that the real way to test and see the stronger of two shinobi is in battle." Naruto said.

"Then-" Sasuke attempted to speak up.

"But I have no interest in fighting you." Naruto said, silencing Sasuke before he even had the chance.

The sound of grinding teeth, told Naruto that Sasuke was upset, and clearly wanted to fight, but there seemed to be something else that the young Uchiha was attempting to propose.

"Why don't we train together? It would be beneficial to the both of us, wouldn't it?" Sasuke suggested, while swallowing his clan's pride.

The slightly widened eyes from Naruto showed his surprise from Sasuke's suggestion.

"Why should I train with you? There would be no point." Naruto questioned.

A smirk appeared on the Uchiha's face. "You want to know to don't you?" Sasuke said, making Naruto raise an eyebrow. "Don't you also want to know who is stronger between the two of us?" Sasuke presumed.

"I admit, that would be interesting. But I'm guessing there is a catch." Naruto said.

"If we fight and I win, then I get to train with you. But if you win, then you don't have to train with me." Sasuke proposed.

The smallest faint of a smile appeared for second on Naruto face before it vanished. "Very well. I'll fight you. But if I win, then there is no exceptions, you can't train with me." Naruto declared, which Sasuke nodded too.

The both of them got in their taijutsu stances. Naruto in his custom made unnamed style, and Sasuke using his Interceptor style which was the Uchiha clan's taijutsu style, which Sasuke still couldn't use to its full potential due to not possessing the Sharingan yet.

There was no movement from either of them, both of them were waiting for the other to make the first move. It seemed that they were going to stand there forever, before both of them at the same time made the first move.

They both charged at each other with speed that is impressive for an academy student. Sasuke threw a faint punch and jumped up and launched a roundhouse kick towards Naruto's head, who ducked under the attack. Naruto performed a spinning jump kick at Sasuke's abdomen which Sasuke was able to block with both arms, but was still knocked back.

The both of them got back into each other's guards. Sasuke attempted a couple consecutive punches which Naruto read and was able to dodge, before Sasuke sent a sweeping kick to Naruto who stepped back out of range and kicked his leg out of the way before blocking another swipe of Sasuke's and landed a sharp blow to the rib.

Not wanting to get taken out in Taijutsu, Sasuke threw a fast haymaker which caught Naruto off guard who narrowingly sidestepped the attack before blocking another attack from Sasuke and then landed a solid blow to the side of Sasuke's face, dazing him.

Naruto attempted to take advantage of his successful attack and went for another blow to Sasuke' head to knock him out. Sasuke recovered from the previous attack in time to duck under the blow and land a solid one-two punch to Naruto's ribs, making him grit his teeth.

Both academy students then through a right punch to each other's face, both connecting and knocking each other back. The two of them stared down each for a couple seconds before Sasuke launched into action and went through a couple hand signs, ending with the Tora hand sign near his mouth.

The white haired boy saw this, and quickly retaliated with his own hand signs, ending with the Hitsuji hand sign in one hand, and his other hand seemed to be having his index and middle finger pointed out in front of him, aimed at Sasuke.

"Katon: Ryuuka no jutsu!" Sasuke exclaimed, releasing a stream of flames from his mouth like a flamethrower.

"Raiton: Byakurai!" Naruto exclaimed, his two outstretched fingers began to charge up with lightning, before releasing what seemed to be a blue colored lightning bolt projectile straight at Sasuke.

Both respective jutsu were flying through the air before colliding, and began to clash to see which was more powerful. In the end, both jutsu were equal in strength and exploded, creating a cloud of smoke, shielding each other from view.

The black haired Uchiha stood attentive, watching the smoke closely, waiting for Naruto. Suddenly two high-speed shuriken came flying out of the smoke surprising Sasuke, but he was able to jump to the side, dodging them. Or at least he thought so, as suddenly one of the shuriken bounced off of the other and deflected itself at Sasuke.

Said Uchiha quickly jumped up over the shuriken, attempting to dodge it, but it still clipped his shoulder, cutting his shirt. The still air-borne Sasuke came close to the ground before he saw Naruto appeared behind him preparing an attack. Sasuke while still mid air retaliated with a roundhouse kick which Naruto dodged under.

The young Namikaze unleashed a strong piercing jab into Sasuke's rib, making the Uchiha grit his teeth in pain. After finally landing his feet on the ground Sasuke threw a punch at Naruto leaned his head back to dodge, before attempting to kick Sasuke who blocked the leg with his own, in result pushing each other away from each other.

Both of them were panting and low on chakra from their use of ninjutsu. They both knew that the fight was coming to close soon. Sasuke moved first and ran behind a tree before running towards Naruto who narrowed his eyes at him. Sasuke jumped at Naruto who quickly jumped at him as well and dodged a fist before launched a kick at Sasuke which phased right through him.

Widened eyes showed Naruto's surprise, 'Bunshin no jutsu!?' he thought. He turned and saw the real Sasuke running out from the trees with a couple kunai with paper bombs attached to them in his hands. 'I see. He must have switched with a bunshin after running behind the tree.' Naruto realized as he saw the Uchiha launch the paper bomb kunai at the ground near him.

A large explosion occurred, creating a large cloud of smoke. Sasuke knew that was too easy, so he remained on guard. When the smoke cleared, it revealed a charred log, surprising Sasuke. 'He was able to perform a substitution without hand signs!?' Sasuke questioned in shock.

Suddenly, a barrage of kunai came from the trees, directed at Sasuke. Sasuke quickly pulled out a kunai of his own and deflected all of them, before Naruto appeared behind him and threw a kick at Sasuke who blocked with his forearm. Naruto attempted to throw a punch at Sasuke as well, which Sasuke saw and quickly deflected the leg he caught before, throwing Naruto off balance.

After recovering, Naruto saw Sasuke appear in his guard with speed, catching him off guard. Sasuke then appeared to launch a kick upwards at Naruto's face who prepared to block with his hands, but Sasuke's leg deliberately missed, and he then pulled it back down with an axe kick on the back of Naruto's head, shocking him.

With a stumble, Naruto attempted to regain his balance. The Uchiha quickly took advantage of his successful attack and launched a palm strike upwards against Naruto's chin, knocking him back onto his back, coughing up blood.

Struggling eyes of the Namikaze fought open, as he sat up from the ground. His sight was met with Sasuke who was standing above him with a kunai at his throat, clearly showing that this was the end of the match, resulting with Sasuke's win.

A smirk appeared on the Uchiha boy's face. "I win. I guess that the class ranking system is wrong. Well, I guess this decides things though, from now on me and you get to train." Sasuke told the white haired Namikaze.

A sigh came from Naruto. "You got me. I guess I'll have to be more serious next time, I underestimated you." Naruto said to no one in particular, surprising Sasuke that he wasn't even taking Sasuke seriously at the beginning of the fight.

Grunting, Naruto stood up and looked at his new training partner. He then extended a hand, catching the Uchiha off guard, even Naruto himself didn't know why he did, it just felt natural, he supposed. "I guess we are training partners from here on out." Naruto said.

After staring at the hand, Sasuke finally reached out and shook it. He looked at Naruto with an arrogant smirk, "Yeah. I'll eventually make you fight me seriously one of these days." Sasuke told Naruto who kept his straight face and simply sighed.

Unknown to the two of them they were being watched. Up in the nearby trees, hiding in the shadows was a certain gray haired ANBU. 'Mah, it seems that this was an unlikely turn of events for these two in particular. I'm definitely surprised that Sasuke was the one to approach him. Well, I'm sure that this is beneficial to the both of them.' Kakashi thought with an eye smile.

- ( 6 MONTHS LATER ) -

The sounds of panting were coming from both of the boys. The two of them were standing across from each other in a training ground clearing which was clearly beaten up from multiple training sessions and spars.

'Sasuke has gotten stronger. So far our record is pretty even. I have 11 wins and 10 losses. Even with my superior speed, he seems to be able to somehow read my moves sometimes. It must be something that the Uchiha clan has even without their Sharingan.' Naruto presumed.

Over the past 6 months, ever since Sasuke proposed his training deal, the two boys continued to train and spar with each other to further improve each others skills. They both knew that they were stronger than their classmates, mainly because of their ambitions. Though they have been training partners for half a year at this point, neither of them had become what they considered friends, and they don't question each other's reasons for becoming strong.

The both of them analyzed and observed each others strengths and weaknesses. They were both in equal strength when it came to ninjutsu, and taijutsu and were never able to overcome the other in those shinobi arts. When it came to physical, Naruto was faster than Sasuke, but the Uchiha clearly had more power in his attacks.

One would suspect that when it came to chakra, they would be complete contrasts, but in fact it was the opposite. While Sasuke definitely has more chakra than most, he still doesn't have too much that it would impede his control. With Naruto, he actually gets exhausted quicker than most would think with his chakra reserves. Not only does Naruto have to work harder on his chakra control which is on par with Sasuke's, but he also uses a considerable amount of chakra which he uses to unconsciously block the Kyuubi chakra if it ever were to be slightly leak into his system.

Though they never outright said it, they both had a good amount of respect for each other.

Back at the clearing, Naruto's body coiled up, and launched himself at high-speeds at Sasuke who was prepared. Sasuke flipped over the attack and threw a kick which was blocked by the white haired boy's arm. Sasuke pushed off with a backflip and panted, as they stared off.

'I guess this would be a good time to test out that jutsu.' Naruto thought while panting, before his thoughts were cut off as he saw Sasuke go through a multitude of hand signs.

"Katon: Goukakyuu no jutsu!" the Uchiha called out and release a large fireball at Naruto.

Said white haired boy quickly pulled out a kunai and threw it through the fireball, in Sasuke's direction, who saw the kunai land by his feet.

When the fireball dissipated, suddenly the nearby kunai disappeared and was replaced with Naruto, catching Sasuke off guard. Naruto quickly went for a strong right hook which suddenly fell, as Naruto dropped to his knees and began to coughing harshly.

The Uchiha boy just looked in shock, as he was almost done in by Naruto who mysteriously appeared in front of him, before Naruto simply dropped to his knees and seemed to be having his body break down.

'What was that?' Sasuke thought before he looked back over to where Naruto was before, and saw the kunai that was at his feet earlier, in his place.

The eyes of Sasuke widened, 'Don't tell me... Did he use the Kawarimi no jutsu to switch places with the kunai!? The amount of chakra that would be needed to switch places with such a small object would be too much at this point in the fight while this exhausted. That must be the reason why he simply dropped to ground after using the jutsu, his body and chakra couldn't handle the stress of the jutsu.' Sasuke analyzed the jutsu.

The coughing of Naruto stopped, catching Sasuke's attention. He then realized that the Namikaze passed out, and he needed medical attention. Sasuke clicked his teeth in irritation before he threw one of Naruto's arms around his shoulder, and brought him all the way to the hospital.

While looking out the window of his hospital room, Naruto sighed in irritation. He found out that after he used his new Kunai Kawarimi no jutsu, that the jutsu used up too much chakra with how exhausted he already was, and it put too much stress on his body, so he passed out. He heard that Sasuke brought him to the hospital to treat chakra exhaustion.

The thing was, he didn't feel like he had to be there, but the nurse wasn't having any of that, and forced him to stay. Naruto while waiting in the hospital room began thinking on his new kunai kawarimi jutsu. He knew that it required a decent deal of chakra to use, as switching places with an object as small as a kunai, it taxing.

'I guess the best way to probably get around the taxing chakra, would be to increase my chakra control. If I do so, then I might be able to use the jutsu without using as much chakra, but I can't really do that, as I don't know any chakra control exercises besides the leaf balancing. So I guess I'll just have to wait until I become a genin or something, until then I'll have to avoid using the jutsu too much.' Naruto analyzed his jutsu.

A sigh came from the Namikaze. 'This is ridiculous. I'm going to leave, regardless what the nurse says, I feel fine anyway.' Naruto thought, and proceeded to get out of the bed and exit the room into the hall.

The pre-teen proceeded to walk through the hall, ignoring anyone who seemed to be looking at him. Suddenly he felt it. Naruto's footsteps halted.

He stood there with wide eyes as he looked around the hospital with what seemed to be a look of shock. 'This presence... How...? There is no way that this chakra signature is real. I only felt it for a second, but it was there. Am I truly not recovered yet?' Naruto thought in shock of the impossible feeling of chakra that he sensed for a small moment.

Naruto quickly walked over to the wall and stared at, placing his hand on it. 'If I'm not mistaken, the chakra signature was behind this wall somewhere. But there isn't a door or anything. Is there a hidden path?' Naruto questioned.

He quickly looked around the hallway he was in, to check if anyone was nearby. After determining no one was close, he began to walk up and down the hallway while rubbing his hand against the wall's seams. 'I know that I've only felt this chakra signature a couple times. But even so, there is no way that they can possibly be alive.' Naruto thought to himself.

Suddenly he felt the difference in texture on the wall, he examined it. 'There is definitely a hidden path right here.' Naruto concluded.

He began to push on the wall to attempt and open some type of door, but to no avail. His body twitched as he then felt a chakra signature coming down the hallway close by. Naruto quickly hurried and began to channel chakra in his hands, and in response, the wall pushed back into the wall slightly, before it slid aside, revealing another hidden hallway.

Naruto quickly entered inside and closed the wall behind him. After determining whoever was in the hallway outside, didn't see or hear his actions, he turned around to observe the new hidden path. The newly discovered hallway had the same design as the rest of the hospital.

After looking at his new surroundings, he began his trek down the hallway. Eventually he reached a turn, and looked down another hallway which had a metal reinforced door. After getting a closer look, he saw that there what seemed to be a multitude of seals on the door. Though they didn't seem to be sealing the room itself, it seemed to give some sort of affect to whatever was inside.

The white haired boy slowly reached out to the handle of the door and twisted, and pulled the door open. He took a quick look inside and saw what appeared to be a normal hospital room, aside from no window, and the walls were covered in seals. Naruto looked over at the bed, and saw that it was occupied, this was the person who's chakra signature he felt earlier.

The man who was occupying the bed turned to his shocking visitor with a wide eye. The person used to have fair skin complexion which now appeared pale. They had jet-black shoulder length spiky/curly hair. His single right eye was coal colored, and he was missing his left eye. The man appeared to be shocked at Naruto's visit.

This man is someone who Naruto never thought he would see. This man was Uchiha Shisui, Naruto's childhood friend's older brother.

"N-Naruto-kun?" Shisui said in shock of his changed appearance, as well as the fact that he found his room.

He was met with silence from Naruto who was simply staring at him with wide dull shaded eyes in shock. 'How? How is Shisui-san alive? I would've thought that he was killed in the massacre.' Naruto questioned.

"Shisui-san? How? How... Why are you here?" Naruto questioned the Uchiha.

The one eyed Uchiha continued to stare at his surprising visitor before finally composing himself. "How did you find this room?" Shisui asked.

"I have a sensor ability. I was simply walking through the halls before I felt a glimpse of your chakra. I then found this room in my attempt to search for your signature." Naruto answered.

A sigh came from Shisui. "I see. That's unfortunate." he said, confusing Naruto.

"What?" Naruto said.

"I simply wished that no would besides Hokage-sama knew of my existence." Shisui told him.

'Hokage-sama knows that Shisui-san is alive? I wonder what happened.' Naruto thought with narrowed eyes.

"I assume that you want answers, don't you?" Shisui assumed.

"I... Shisui-san. Do you know...? About the massacre, and...Kagami?" Naruto questioned him.

The sad look that appeared in his single eye answered his question.

"Sasuke is still alive." Naruto said, getting Shisui's surprised attention, showing that he didn't know that fact.

'I see. So it seems that Itachi couldn't kill Sasuke-kun. I would've been surprised if he did.' Shisui thought to himself.

The room remained quiet for what seemed like hours. Shisui laid back against the head of his bed, before looking back up at his visitor. "I'm sorry, but I will and cannot tell you what happened." Shisui told him, making him upset, but Naruto didn't show it.

"Why?" The boy questioned.

"First. Hokage-sama doesn't wish to allow anyone to know. Second. I, myself don't wish anyone to know." Shisui informed him. 'No one needs to know what happened, the truth will die with Itachi and I.' Shisui thought to himself.

"But..." The one eyed Uchiha began, getting Naruto's attention.

"All you need to know is that the reason behind my current state is because I abandoned my mission. I decided to forsake my orders and attempt to finish the mission on my own, with my hands. In result, it ended with my current state, as well as the massacre. That's all I will tell you." Shisui told Naruto who simply listened with wide eyes.

'So... Because he abandoned his mission, the consequences were that severe.' Naruto thought in shock. The boy then narrowed his eyes, 'I won't abandon my mission like Shisui-san did. I won't allow there to be consequences which affect the village.' Naruto thought with determination.

"Also, due to my bodies terrible state, I must stay inside of this preservation sealed room. If I do end up leaving the room, my body will began to break down and eventually die, unless I return to the room in time." Shisui said.

"Because of this..." he continued, getting Naruto's attention.

"I have a request." Shisui told him. "I want you to tell Sasuke that I'm here and let him meet me. I wish to talk to him. Can you do that?" The Uchiha requested to his visitor.

"I can do that." Naruto accepted, and began to walk out of the room.

"One more thing." Shisui spoke up, halting Naruto. "Don't tell anyone about me, besides Sasuke. I'll tell Hokage-sama myself, as he comes and visits me about once a month anyway." Shisui told Naruto who nodded and continued on his way.

The white haired Namikaze returned to the training ground that he was training at with Sasuke from earlier, in search of his training partner. Currently he was fulfilling the request that Shisui made.

When he arrived, he saw that his Uchiha partner was taking a nap under a tree, leaning against its trunk. He came over to him and kicked him in shin, waking him up.

The Uchiha glared up at him with irritated eyes, frustrated that he was woken from his nap. "I see that they released you. What's up?" Sasuke asked, before he saw that Naruto's face was more serious than usual, putting him on guard.

"What? What happened?" The Uchiha questioned carefully.

"Follow me." Was all Naruto said before starting to walk off.

"Huh? Don't give me that. Tell me." Sasuke demanded, making Naruto stop and turn back to him.

"Uchiha Shisui is alive." Was all Sasuke heard before he appeared in front of Naruto with his hands gripping the front of his shirt so hard his knuckles were beginning to turn white.

"If this is a joke, then stop it." Sasuke demanded, as his coal eyes glared into Naruto's dull eyes.

"It's not a joke. I met him myself, and he requested me to tell you and have you meet him." Naruto informed him.

Silence came from Sasuke who finally composed himself. "Fine. Bring me to him." Sasuke said.

A nod came from Naruto, who began his trek back to the hospital with his training partner one step behind.

The journey back to the hospital was a silent one. After all, neither of them talk too much in the first place, but with the current situation in hand, no one would blame them, as they were both still comprehending Shisui's survival.

They reached the hospital and Naruto revealed the secret chakra door in the wall to Sasuke, and led him to the room down the hidden hallway.

Visiting the room for the second time that day, Naruto opened the door, revealing Shisui who was clearing waiting for his little cousin's arrival. When Sasuke's eyes met Shisui' single eye, he was shocked beyond words.

"Hey, Sasuke-kun. It's been a while." Shisui said, as Sasuke struggled to have words come out of his mouth.

Shisui turned to Naruto. "Can you give us some time to talk. Alone." he requested.

A nod came from Naruto who left the sealed room, closing the door behind him, leaving the two Uchiha to themselves.

Shisui turned to Sasuke. "I've heard mostly of everything thats happened while I've been here, about the massacre and all." he said.

"Then. You know that Itachi killed everyone." Sasuke questioned, which Shisui answered with a nod.

"Itachi told me that he killed you." Sasuke told Shisui who narrowed his eye.

'I can't tell him what really happened, even though he is the one who most deserves the truth.' Shisui told himself.

"I believe that Itachi thought so as well. As when he "killed" me, I fell into the Nakano river. Even I thought I died. But I survived, and I was discovered to be alive by Hokage-sama, who saved me and preserved my body in this room." Shisui told him.

"What about that missing eye? Did Itachi take that as well?" Sasuke questioned.

Unseen by Sasuke, Shisui grit his teeth in bubbling anger. 'That damned Danzo.' he thought to himself. "Yeah." he lied to Sasuke.

There was a silence between the two of the last three Uchiha. Sasuke was still having trouble believing that Shisui is alive, even in front of his own eyes, but he was mainly even more angered at Itachi.

But still, there was the problem. Sasuke still had that hidden feeling, whether he wanted to or not. He still loved his older brother. Not the way that his brother is currently, but his past brother. He couldn't help but feel helpless whenever he thought of the power he would need to defeat him.

Sasuke's feelings and troubles didn't go unnoticed by Shisui. "What should I do..." Sasuke questioned.

"Become strong. Not only for yourself, but for others, like your friend Naruto. One thing that I wish for you to do, is to restore the Uchiha clan, and work towards regaining our clan's respect and previous standing and restore our clan's reputation." Shisui told him.

Listening to his request, Sasuke himself seemed to unconsciously seek the same thing, as he felt the same. "But... How would I be able to complete such a feat when our clan is practically only consisting of only myself?" Sasuke asked.

"The most obvious one would be to take down Itachi, as he is a known traitor of our clan. Taking him down would be getting rid of any bad reputation that our clan might receive due to his crimes. As for regaining our standing and respect... You'll have to figure that out on your own, or maybe ask for some assistance from comrades or friends." Shisui told him.

It seemed that the entire situation finally hit Sasuke who looked down at his feet as his body began to twitch. It was the first time in almost 4 years since Sasuke had released his emotions, but before he knew, tears were running down his face.

A small smile appeared on Shisui's face as he saw this. "It seems that you have attained it." he said, confusing the younger Uchiha.

The boy looked up in confusion, and upon opening his eyes, he realized it instantly as well.

The Uchiha avenger had awakened his clan's kekkei genkai dojutsu, the Sharingan.

"I believe in you, Sasuke." Shisui said, making Sasuke feel the best he has had in years.

"I won't let you down, Shisui." Sasuke declared, and left the room, as his sharingan deactivated.

After leaving the two Uchiha alone, Naruto prompted to wait for them by leaning against the wall in the public hospital's hallway, next to the hidden doorway which leads to Shisui's room.

Feeling the presence of a coming chakra, Naruto looked to his side, and saw the door slide open, and Sasuke walked out. Sasuke briefly looked at Naruto for a moment before they looked away and simply stood their for a minute.

The first one to move was Sasuke who began to walk away on his trek back to the training ground. Naruto decided to tag along, as ever since Sasuke left the room, his chakra signature and feeling was a bit different than before. It felt like Sasuke's purpose felt slightly more clear than before.

Both of them eventually reach the training ground, but instead of the clearing, they stood by a nearby lake, with a dock. Sasuke simply sat down at the edge of the wooden dock, looking out at the sunset. Naruto prompted to stand nearby with his hands in his pocket.

"So... What happened." Naruto spoke up first.

"We talked. I feel like I finally have a clear path that I truly wish to walk on." Sasuke answered.

"I see." Naruto simply said in understanding.

After his meeting with Shisui, he finally realized something between him and Naruto. He knew that he never acknowledged it beforehand, but it's different this time around. Naruto was truly his only friend. That's why after Shisui's advice, he truly feels he can connect with someone who understands the same pain that he has.

"My older brother, Itachi. He was the one to kill the my entire clan, our entire family." Sasuke began, surprising Naruto who began to listen.

"Before the massacre, Itachi was always there for me, I looked up to him. He was the one person that I felt was able to understand me, unlike our father who seemed to favor Itachi. But...Itachi eventually changed, and then he did what he did. I don't know why. But I'm going to find him, and I'm going to ask him for his reasons, and then I'll kill him." Sasuke said, while Naruto stood attentive.

After hearing Sasuke open up, Naruto truly realized that Sasuke saw him as a friend, and so did he, though they both would never publicly say so.

"My life is filled with hatred. Almost everyone in this village hates me with a passion, which I used to think it was just something that I would never understand. But I eventually learned the truth. After I was tortured." Naruto said, shocking Sasuke.

'Tortured? Why would someone do that to him?' Sasuke questioned.

"My torturer put me through the worst physical and mental pain I've ever felt. But there was only one reason I survived such an event. It is also the same reason why everyone bears hatred against me. On the night of my birth, the same day the Kyuubi no Kitsune attacked the village, the same day that the Yondaime Hokage supposedly killed the Kyuubi, my horrible life began." Naruto said, while Sasuke listened.

"There is two lies about that night. One. The Kyuubi is a bijuu, which is a mass entity of pure chakra which has merely taken a physical form, these bijuu are not capable of being killed. That is why the Yondaime was forced to seal it." Naruto continued his story, while Sasuke's eyes widened as at this point he already guessed the truth.

"The second lie of that night. I am the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki. Jinchuuriki stands for human sacrifice. The Yondaime was forced to seal the Kyuubi inside of my body, and requested that the village saw me as a hero, but that didn't go as planned." Naruto revealed his truth to someone for the first time.

The two boys now truly understood each other's pain.

"I see. So that's why you always received those looks." Sasuke said, which Naruto nodded to.

"My only goal is to become a shinobi in order to gain the answers I'm searching for. Which is who my parents are, that's all I currently want to know. As a shinobi I will be able to protect myself, and others who have felt pain. I will also never abandon a mission." Naruto declared.

"After meeting with Shisui, I think I've truly found my purpose as well. I wish to restore my clan. I want to be able to regain the standing and high reputation of the Uchiha clan, but I still don't know exactly how I would do so, besides simply getting rid of Itachi." Sasuke said.

The white haired boy adopted a thinking pose, and entered deep concentration. Eventually his eyes lit up.

He then turned to his Uchiha training partner. "I have an idea for restoring your clan." Naruto spoke up, getting Sasuke's attention.

"All you would have to do is climb the ranks in Konoha and then become Hokage. If you become a Hokage, it would show the shinobi world that the Uchiha are still strong, and deserve respect, it would also help you raise their reputation." Naruto suggested.

While listening to the suggestion, Sasuke's eyes widened at the idea of him becoming Hokage. But now that he thought about it, before Itachi had ever showed any change, he did say that he wanted to become the first Uchiha Hokage.

"It's completely clear now. There are no forks or obscurities in my path. I will rise in the ranks of konoha as a shinobi, I will defeat Itachi, and eventually become the first Uchiha Hokage, and clear the Uchiha's name and regain their reputation." Sasuke declared with determination, with his sharingan.

A small barely seen smile appeared on Naruto's face. 'It seems he's figured it all out. I guess I'll just have to support him the best that I can.' Naruto thought to himself.

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

This is by far the longest chapter I've written so far.

The point of this chapter was to reveal the purpose for both Naruto and Sasuke as shinobi.

I hope that you enjoyed Shisui's shocking survival reveal.
