Chapter 26: The King of Kalos
"Entrant!" Monsieur Robin cried. Ash and scattered to avoid the incoming boulder.
"Iron Tail!"
"Steel Wing!"
"Pika!"
"Skaaa!"
The Pikachu and Skarmoy smashed apart the incoming boulder as other Pokemon on the battlements tried to do the same, all the while avoiding incoming attacks and longbow arrows from below.
"Push forward, men! For King and Country!" Earl Bede cried as he rode forward on a Galar Rapidash. The young Earl couldn've have contrasted Sir Mercer more if he'd tried.
Bede wasn't particularly large or imposing, and he gave off an almost effeminate appearance from his incredibly well-groomed blonde hair, lack of face paint, and glittering pink armor.
Despite all this, he showed no fear, riding among his troops near the front even as the Kalos defenders fought them off.
"Longbowmen, suppress those defenders! Make ready the ladders!"
Ribombee and Togekiss flew in, unleashing various fairy-type moves in coordination with longbowmen, trebuchets, and other Pokemon on the ground.
Unfortunately, the sparse defending Pokemon could only hold off so many of these moves and missiles, allowing Bede's men to move in closer on one side while Sir Mercer led another company in further down.
"Merde! Clemont!" Ash shouted as he took cover from a volley of longbow arrows flying toward them.
"Un moment!" Clemont led the few hundred surviving crossbowmen Tori rescued forward along the battlement. However, instead of their crossbows, each soldier now carried one of Clemont's hand cannons. Additionally, four more, with the help of a Machoke and Magnamite, moved a pair of cannons into position.
"Cover your ears." Ash said. Rokusho and the other various samurai across the battlement looked confused when they saw the Kalos soldiers/chevaliers mirror Ash.
"Fire!" Rokusho and his fellow samurai instantly wished they'd listened. The thunderous crack and boom from the black powder weapons left them temporarily deafened with a sharp ringing in their ears.
"Gaaah!" Rokusho collapsed to the ground beside his Pokemon, all of them holding their heads.
"Nantekotta i?!" Rokusho and a dozen other samurai wailed.
"I warned you."
"Pika." Ash and Pikachu sweatdropped.
"Regarder!" Monsieur Robin cried. Beneath the wall, they spotted over three dozen longbowmen drop to the ground, dead or wounded, the others scattering in terror.
At the same time, Clemont's cannons both hit their mark and reduced a pair of trebuchets to splinters. While Clemont's volley did successfully drive back the Galar missile troops and siege engines, a considerable number of their infantry had already reached the base of the wall with ladders.
However, many trembled after what they'd just seen.
"Get up there, you cowards. You'll find no safe place down here!" Sir Mercer snarled as he grabbed one of his frightened men and bashed him across the face.
Bede saw this and hesitated, seeing the fear across his soldiers and knights.
"Hatt." Earl Bede looked over at his Hatterene, who gave him a look of encouragement.
"You're right!" Bede seized one of the ladders and shoved it against the wall himself.
"With me, brave fellows! For King and Country!"
"Aye!" One by one, the Galar siege ladders went up as the sparse defenders did everything in their power to stop them. Yet it wasn't enough, and Ash drew his sword.
"Aux armes!"
"Pika!" Ash and Rokusho charged forward together, and each brought down a pair of men-at-arms within moments.
Clemont similarly drew sword and joined a few men-at-arms/samurai as they protected his gunners. The samurai proved exceptionally skilled in single combat, with only a single falling to a Galar knight.
Ash and Rokusho found similar success, both managing to kill another two men-at-arms and a knight each. However, the sheer number of Galar attackers compared to the defenders spread their teams thin, separating Ash from most of his Pokemon. Including Pikachu when the knight sent him to rescue a downed man-at-arms.
"Ash!" Rokusho cried, and the Prince consort turned just in time to see Earl Bede's sword.
"Merde!" Ash parried the blow with moments to spare, but Bede immediately followed up with a series of incredibly precise strokes that felt more like fencing than traditional sword fighting.
"Sir Avery was my friend, you fiend!" Bede cried in genuine pain as he emphasized the knight Ash had just killed. Ash's eyes narrowed behind his visor.
"I'm sorry he's dead, but he attacked me first, just like you attacked Kalos!"
Bede grit his teeth and resumed his offensive.
"Hatterene, use psycho cut!"
"Pika!"
"Gre!" Pikachu and Greninja found their paths blocked by too many Galar Pokemon, leaving them unable to help Ash.
"Dragon Tail!" Ash's eyes glowed blue for a moment. Across the battlement, Felix and his Lucario cut their way through Galar with ruthless efficiency when both sensed it.
"Grouu!" Lucario and his trainer turned to Ash when his Tyrunt leaped over him, eyes glowing blue.
"Runt!" Tyrunt smashed apart the psychic move and then huffed as he took a defensive stance in front of Ash.
"A dragon Pokemon? Surely you can't be serious." Earl Bede chuckled as his Hatterene floated over him.
"Try us!"
"Runt!"
"As you wish, Disarming Voice."
"Hatt." The Fairy Pokemon his Tyrunt with the super-effective fairy-type move before he could even react and nearly sent him tumbling over the edge.
"Tyrunt!" Ash jerked forward to intercept Earl Bede's sword, thus preventing him from helping Tyrunt.
"Psychic."
"Hatt." Hatterene's eyes glowed, and she lifted Tyrunt up as he furiously tried to break free.
"Ancient Power!"
"Ty!" Tyrunt unleashed a series of rocks toward Hatterene, forcing her to stop them and release him.
"Bite!" Tyrunt raced at Hatterene and snapped his formidable jaws around her, yet the Fairy Pokemon didn't flinch.
"Heal Pulse."
"Hatt." Hatterene forced Tyrunt off and let out a vibrant pinkish light, restoring much of her vitality.
"Dazzling Gleam."
"Ancient Power!"
Ash channeled aura into Tyrunt, causing their eyes to both glow blue again while Felix continued to watch with intrigue. Hatterene blasted apart each rock Tyrunt conjured, but the rock dragon refused to give in.
"Your brute strength is nothing to Hatterene's serene beauty." Earl Bede very nearly slid the tip of his sword into a gap between Ash's armor plates.
"Tyrunt!" Ash roared as he shoved himself forward, knocking Bede's sword aside and forcing the Earl into a stumble. At the same time, Tyrunt roared even louder and started to glow.
"Eh?" Bede and Hatterene muttered. When the smoke cleared from Dazzling Gleam, Tyrunt had vanished.
"Grawwwww!" Bede, Hatterene, and dozens of others trembled when they saw a Tyrantrum towering over them from inside the city.
"Pika!"
"Gre!"
"Flame!"
"Grouu!"
"Grauu!" Ash's other Pokemon cheered in awe of Tyrunt's evolution.
"Hmmm, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Dazzling Gleam!"
"Ancient Power!"
"Grawwwww!" Tyrantrum shook the battlement as he barraged Hatterene with an avalanche of glowing stones. Unlike before, the Fairy Pokemon struggled to keep up with them.
"Crunch!"
"Hatt!" Hatterene squealed when she saw Tyrantrum's colossal jaws encircle her.
"Ahhh! Hatterene!" Earl Bede screamed in terror upon seeing her ensnared in Tyrantrum's mouth. The Galar Lord barely caught Ash's next blow, but it didn't last as the chevalier pivoted and bashed him across the face. Ash quickly continued and slammed Bede onto the ground, sliding his sword against the Earl's face.
"Yield!"
"Yield! I yield! Just let Hatterene go!" Bede wailed, clearly more concerned for his Pokemon than himself.
"Tyrantrum." The rock dragon reluctantly spat her back out, leaving a trembling Hatterene covered in saliva.
"We've captured your Earl! Surrender!" Monsieur Robin cried out when he saw Ash's victory. Many of the Galar men-at-arms surrendered on the spot while Sir Mercer led those still on the ground back.
"La victoire!" Clemont cried out, soon joined by the others.
Ash wanted to join in, but he and Rokusho stared down at Sir Mercer with wary expressions.
"It's not over yet."
Back inside the city, Serena, Zinnia, Shauna, Bonnie, and their Pokemon helped Tori administer to wounded men/Pokemon brought from the wall.
"You're going to be ok, I promise." Shauna said tenderly, holding a wounded gunner's arm while they extracted a longbow arrow from his leg.
"Merde!"
Serena similarly eased a wounded knight while an Aromatisse used
Aromatherapy on his arm.
"I'm not going to die, am I?" He muttered in pure terror.
"Non, you."
"I can't die! S'il te plaît Reduka! My wife just gave birth to our daughter two days ago!" Serena went still and felt her heart race as she lowered both hands to her stomach and gazed out longingly towards the city walls.
"Ash." She muttered. Serena's Pokemon tried to comfort her but with little success. Serena forced herself to continue on despite this, eventually joining the others.
"Yvonne, are you ok?" Tori asked.
"Oui." Serena said, failing to convince her.
"You look almost as bad as these wounded men. Why don't you sit down for a few minutes." Normally Serena would've pressed on, but her anxiety only confounded her exhausting pregnancy, and she nodded.
The Princess wrapped her arms around her legs and stared aimlessly at the ground with a lost expression.
"I should've told Ash." She muttered.
"Non! It would've only distracted him!" Shauna tried to assure her.
"I agree. That's why I'll tell Rokusho when he gets back. I'll get him in a good mood first." Zinnia's tone and facial expressions made the other young women sweatdrop.
"How will you do that?" Bonnie asked innocently.
"Well-"
"Ahh!" Serena slapped her hands over Bonnie's ears while Shauna did the same to Zinnia's mouth.
"Have you no decency!?" Zinnia giggled.
"I only wear clothes outside our home at all because Rokusho insists I do so."
Shauna turned pale white and crestfallen.
"Fille folle de dragon." Shauna said, wondering how she'd only now gotten pregnant.
Serena sighed.
"Everything's going to change now."
"Yes, that's true, but that doesn't mean it will be bad. You and Ash are going to have a baby! A handsome little boy or beautiful little girl! Who knows, maybe both!"
"I hope it's twins! No triplets!" Bonnie cried, making Serena sweatdrop harder.
"Ahh, this is too much, Calem, the siege, and now this, I-"
"Braix!"
"Char!"
"Cham!" Serena's Pokemon tried desperately to calm her down.
"Listen to them. Stress isn't good for your baby. You need to relax, like me." Somehow Zinnia's advice didn't help Serena.
"I hate to admit it, but she's probably right. Relax, Serena, Ash, and the others will be fine." Shauna tried to assure her when suddenly they heard the city bells ringing.
"La victoire! We've captured the enemy Earl!"
"Eh?" Serena almost sprung up when Tori mounted her Rapidash and rode off only to come back moments later, filled with excitement.
"It's true! We've won a great victory! Allez!" Serena and the others quickly followed her towards Countess Valerie's estate, where a few hundred soldiers, knights, and samurai celebrated alongside their Pokemon.
"Ash!" Serena cried in relief when she saw him with Clemont, Rokusho, and Monsieur Robin.
"Three cheers for Monsieur Ash and his Tyrantrum!" Monsieur Robin laughed asTyrantrum lifted Ash up onto his snout and roared.
"Tyrunt evolved!"
"A Tyrantrum!" Bonnie's eyes turned to hearts, and she raced over, wrapping both arms around one of his legs.
"There you are." Shauna giggled as she and Clemont embraced.
Serena smiled warmly as she saw the fighting men and Pokemon cheer for Ash, allowing the Princess to exhale deeply.
"Zinnia!" Rokusho forced his way over and lifted her up into his arms before sharing a fiery kiss.
When Tyantrum finally let Ash down, he too embraced Serena before showing her the badge he'd gotten from Earl Bede.
"So pretty." Serena said as she held it.
"Merci. The Earl's not actually a bad guy." Ash pointed to Bede, who knelt in front of a table across from Valerie. Both nobles shared a cup of Kanto tea with beaming smiles as they showed off their fairy-type Pokemon.
"Is the battle over then?" Shauna asked, earning wary expressions from Ash and Clemont.
"Sir Mercer is still out there." Serena and Shauna went silent but quickly composed themselves.
"You can defeat him."
"Oui! We-"
"Ma dame! Ma dame!" Monsieur Robin raced over towards Valerie and Bede with an almost frantic expression.
"Monsieur?!"
"Ma dame! A messenger just arrived. He brings news of the Dauphin!" Earl Bede nearly dropped his cup, and the crowd went silent.
"Calem!" Serena trembled and felt Ash place his hand over hers. Though he, too, struggled to remain calm.
Valerie took a deep breath and motioned the messenger forward.
"Bonjour ma dame. I am Jean and I bring news."
"Oui, don't keep us waiting then." Valerie sighed.
"Ma dame, I was instructed to show as many as I could."
"Show?" Shauna wondered, and Serena's eyes widened when she saw what Jean had taken out of his pack.
"Time Flower!?"
Jean set the rock down and pressed his hand against it, causing the Time Flower to glow and then shoot a beam of light up. The audience was left in awe when they saw it project a memory above them.
The time flowered showed over a thousand knights and twice as many men-at-arms, all in suits of plate, kneeling together beside their Pokemon in prayer.
Upon closer inspection, Ash recognized Daniel, Alain, and Lucas among them, all three surrounding Calem.
Upon finishing their prayer, Calem took a deep breath and turned to Jean.
"Bonjour, people of Kalos. This may be the last time any of you see my face and those of the brave men around me. I am deeply grateful for their courage and unyielding loyalty not just to me, but to our Kingdom and her people." Calem looked upon his small army with shame and guilt.
"Chevaliers! Brave soldiers of Kalos! I'm sorry I have led us to this end! Should any of you wish to leave now, you have my blessings! I give my people one final command, do not judge those who depart me today with their lives."
Many soldiers and knights went to tears when they saw not a single man even motion to leave the Dauphin.
"Merci, merci, all of you! To my people, I am grateful for the hardships you've endured for the sake of our freedom. I'm sorry I couldn't lead you to victory but know that I won't submit myself to a foreign King!" Calem and his Greninja rose up together.
"Non! Today, I will go out a chevalier and face the invaders, sword drawn with the finest men any King could ask for! Aria, my beloved wife, I'm sorry you will now be a widow and our unborn child fatherless."
"Child!?" Many gasped, including Serena.
"To my nobles, promise to keep my child safe and continue the fight for our freedom with them as your new King or Queen. Pour Kalos!"
"Pour Kalos!"
Jean mounted his Talonflame and took off, giving the audience a bird's eye view. From there, they spotted the Galar host with Victor's Royal standard among the great host. Clemont quickly recognized that the Galar army numbered no less than seven thousand, including vast companies of longbowmen.
"Merde." Clemont trembled as he, Ash, and their Pokemon quickly recognized the Galar's order of battle. They attempted to place themselves on a hillside with spiked steaks in front of their troops and other similar anti-cavalry traps, just as they had in the northern battle.
However, upon closer inspection, they noticed something rather interesting. For one thing, the hills concealed Calem's army more than they had in the north. Not only that, but their fortifications were incomplete. Hundreds of men and Pokemon still labored to finish their defenses, and none had even started preparing a field of mud.
Not only that, Victor and his officers appeared to still be arranging their troops for battle, with many companies not yet in the right position. Large swaths of the army already in position looked complacent, many playing or listening to loud, bombastic music, with Victor himself joining in more than once.
"Attendre." Ash said, his heart racing faster.
"To arms! To arms! Come on, you blooming idiots!" Several flying Galar scouts frantically flew back and tried to warn their comrades, who frantically tried to make ranks. Ash and the other fighting men quickly realized that the Galar weren't ready for battle, undoubtedly not expecting a smaller force to try and attack them head-on so soon.
In the North, Victor's army was fully prepared for them. Now, they weren't.
Calem led three-hundred mounted knights on Rapidash and Rhyhorn in a fierce charge straight for the Galar center, which hadn't been fully fortified or arrayed yet. A few scattered groups of flying Galar tried to intercept the charging knights only for ranged attacks from Kalos Pokemon on their side of the field, driving them away.
Additionally, longbowmen and Galar Pokemon similarly attempted to halt the knights' charge, but their failure to form up in time resulted in sloppy and unorderly attacks with little to no real effect.
The audience watched in awe as Calem made contact before any of his knights did. He, Rapidash, and Greninja ran down three longbowmen, and soon, the other chevaliers sent panic among the Galar troops/Pokemon in the center, putting more to flight than they killed or wounded.
Despite having an overwhelming advantage in numbers, the whole Galar host was thrown into chaos at this successful charge on their center. Victor and his officers desperately tried to regain order and control, directing men/Pokemon back towards the center.
"Regarder!" Someone shouted as he pointed further back.
Ash and the others now saw the two-thousand dismounted Kalos men-at-arms and their pokemon charge across the field unmolested by the distracted Galar host.
"Pour Kalos!" The Kalos Pokemon easily dealt with the half-finished Galar fortifications and allowed their troops to slam into the Galar line like a tidal wave. The Kalos men-at-arms, unlike their Galar counterparts, came in good order and fought as a cohesive force, quickly backing up and preventing Calem's company from being overrun.
"Hold on, could they actually win this!?" Someone shouted in disbelief.
Serena held her heart and trembled when she and the others watched Calem's army slowly but surely push the scattered Galar forces back, spreading more panic and disorder among them. However, just when hope seemed to rise like the sun, harsh darkness came over those watching the time flower.
"Grauuu!" Leon and his gigantamax'd Charizard revealed themselves as well as two large companies of Galar knights on the flanks, all of whom moved in to surround Calem.
"Non!" Shauna cried.
"I can't watch!" Bonnie muttered and buried her face in Clemont's stomach.
"Daniel! Alain!"
"Pika!"
The audience's eyes lit up when they saw Daniel and Alain moving on, both on their Mega Charizard alongside dozens of other flying Kalos and nearly a thousand mounted knights coming on the flanks.
Daniel's Charizard Z slammed into Leon's Charizard and hurled him to the ground, just like their last encounter. Alain and his Charizard X, meanwhile, quickly took advantage for Kalos in the air as their knights on the ground slammed hard into their Galar counterparts, putting them to flight.
With this, the Galar army began a disorderly retreat, Leon and his Charizard dragging Victor away against his will as the Galar King tried desperately to rally his men.
"Sur les braves chevaliers!" Calem roared as he led his victorious army on, killing of capturing vast numbers of retreating Galar before finally stopping after half the Galar host was dead or taken prisoner.
"Vive Kalos!" Calem began the chant, which soon his entire army and the audience cheered.
"King Victor." Earl Bede finally dropped his tea with a crestfallen expression.
"Calem won. He won the battle!" Tears filled Serena's eyes, and she hugged Ash so tightly that the Princess almost forgot about her pregnancy for a moment.
"Calem!" Ash and Clemont roared.
Valerie, too, cried out in glee but, like the others, soon realized that the memory had now changed. It now showed Calem in Anistar City with Daniel, Wikstrom, Olympia, Wulfric, Alain, and Drasna alongside the city's inhabitants.
Serena trembled when she saw him kneeling beneath the great Anistar Sundial, the traditional coronation spot for Kings of Kalos. Kneeling beside him were none other than Aria and Greninja.
Soon, another figure approached, carrying a crown in his hand. Ash's mouth dropped when he realized it was Bishop Sycamore, aided by Alain.
"Before Reduka and the Lords of Kalos, I hereby crown thee, Calem the First, King of Kalos!" Sycamore cried as he placed the crown on Calem's head.
"Long may he rein!"
"Long may he rein!" Daniel and the others all knelt as Calem rose, Dauphin no longer, but King of Kalos.
"Vive le Roi!" A man at arms cried.
"Vive le Roi! Vive le Roi! Vive le Roi!" Ash and the others joined in the explosive cheer that shook Laverre City.
"I'll soon spread the word across Kalos!" Jean cried.
Somehow, Serena didn't quite know-how. Perhaps it was Reduka smiling down upon them, but the bells rang again.
"Galar in retreat! Galar in retreat!" Someone shouted.
"Eh!?" Ash quickly mounted Charizard and flew up to get a better look. Once high enough, he got his answer. Hundreds of Kalos Knights carrying Count Phillip's banners charged across the fields outside of Laverre City with the Count himself at the front.
"Get away from my city, salopards!" Philip roared above the sounds of his charging Rapidash. Moments later, Ash saw another company of Kalos knights emerge from the other flank. However, upon seeing the banners, he, Charizard, and Pikachu went still.
"Noiii!"
"Charger!"
"Grauuu! Above these knights flew a very familiar Charizard and a Noivern with none other than Red on his back.
"Red!"
"Pika!"
"Grauu!"
Sir Mercer snarled upon seeing Red and nearly charged alone before his men forced him away. Red and Philip considered pursuit, but the Galar had already entered the marshes.
"And stay away!" Philip roared, quickly turning his Rapidash back towards Laverre, but not alone.
"Grauu!" Red's Charizard slammed into Ash's, forcibly pinning him, Ash, and Pikachu to the ground.
"Grauuu!" Charizard laughed, earning intense growls from Ash's Charizard.
"Pika!" Pikachu ran over to Red's Charizard, pleased to see him again.
"Grauu!"
"There you are!" Ash looked up at Noivern, who landed before him and let his rider down.
"Here, I was hoping you'd stay out of trouble, little brother."
"Red!" Ash embraced his bother tightly.
"Red!" Serena raced over with the others as fast as she could, passing Count Philip, who eagerly reached Valerie and twirled her around in his arms.
"Ahhh, looks like we arrived in the knick of time, mon amour." Korrina giggled as she revealed herself alongside Lucario.
"Red, Korrina. Merci Reduka." Shauna sighed.
"Shauna!?" Both yelped in disbelief.
"Oui, we rescued her." Clemont said.
"Don't be modest, Clemont. He rescued her!" Bonnie boasted while emphasizing his spurs.
"Clemont, you're a chevalier now! Well done, mon ami."
"Merci." Clemont said, looking flustered.
"How did you know to come here?" Serena asked.
"We actually came looking for you but passed decided to aid Count Philip when we heard Laverre was under siege." Red said.
"You came looking for us?" Ash and Serena asked, earning two cocky smiles from Red and Korrina.
"Oui, the King gave us a very important-"
"There she is!"
"Ehh!?" Serena jumped when she saw none other than Monsieur Thevot and his company directly across from them.
"Hold on, when did they get here?" Shauna asked.
"Princess!"
"Princess?" Tori, Bede, Philip, and Valerie muttered with countless others.
Serena's face turned bright red, and she trembled as all eyes turned to her.
"Ahhh! It is the Princess!" Philip shouted in disbelief as he looked closer.
"The Princess!"
"Princess Serena!"
"Princess, enough of this. You're coming with us!" Thevot roared as he and his men tried to surround her.
"Get back!" Ash roared back as he came between Thevot and Serena. The two chevaliers stood in a tense standoff.
"Ash, don't make me do this."
"Do what?" Thevot jumped when he saw Red and Korrina now backing Ash up alongside Rokusho and soon well over a hundred of Red/Korrina's men.
"Red!?"
"That's Count Red to you, Monsieur!" Korrina corrected.
"...It doesn't matter, the Queen has charged me with bringing her daughter to Navarre and I-"
Red reached into his bag and revealed a parchment.
"Eh?" Thevolt's hand trembled as he took the paper.
"By order of his majesty, King Calem, Princess Serena is to be placed in the safety of Kiloude City until the Galar are driven from Kalos!" Red declared while Korrina smirked victoriously.
"Kildoude City!" Ash and the others cried in disbelief.
"Oui, we're here to escort you there safely." Korrina said.
Thevolt trembled again as he looked back at Serena.
"I, the Queen-"
"Aria is the Queen now." Red reminded him.
"She's not our Queen." The Navarrese knights growled back. However, they stopped upon seeing Thevolt and the other Kalos knights disperse.
"Hey, where are you going!?" One shouted.
"We're knights of the Royal Household. Our King needs us."
The Navarrese knights growled but too departed, unwilling to challenge Red alone.
"So we're going to Kiloude City!" Bonnie cried in glee.
"Oui, and you're going to stay there!" Red spoke sternly towards Ash and Serena in particular.
Ash looked back defiantly and was about to speak when he felt Serena's hand on his shoulder.
"Eh?" Ash and Pikachu were quite confused when they saw her anxious expression.
"Serena?"
"Ash, I'm pregnant."
Ash's face turned snow white and crestfallen. Pikachu's doing much the same.
"Grouu!?"
"Grawww!?"
"Grauuu!?"
"Gre?"
"Flame!?"
"Ehhhh!?" Clemont collapsed onto his back while Shauna and Bonnie giggled.
"Wow." Rokusho chuckled before Zinnia giggled and whispered something in his ear.
"Nani!?"
Red blinked for a moment but then started laughing before patting Ash on the shoulder.
"Ohh, Ash, what have you done, little brother." Red stopped laughing when he saw a look of fiery rage on Korrina's face and sweatdropped.
"Korrina?"
"She's pregnant already, and I'm not!"
"Korrina-" Red held his hands up before she grabbed him by the collar of his armor and pulled herself closer.
"You and I have work to do."
"Ash." Serena said, only for him to collapse backward.
"Ash."
Author's note
So yeah, a lot happened,
Calem is now the King of Kalos! Also if you're wondering, the Battle he won was based off the Battle of Patay from the 100 years wars. It was a major turning point for the French and effectively a reverse Agincourt where a force of French Knights destroyed an English Army mostly made up of Longbowmen.
Red and Korrina are back for a bit and are on a mission to get the group to safety, especially now that Serena's condition is revealed.
I think Ash took it well enough,
So until next time,
