Nier Automata: The Last God
A/N: Hey guys Daku here, and I know I said I would put out the next chapter yesterday night but I was dead tired and I had to do a bit of studying. But after Finals I'm going to be at home during the summer, so I'll have plenty of time to put out more chapters.
Alright without further to do, it's time for Zae to lend a hand to the Androids and for something special to happen to him as well. ;)
Ruberforumfree: to answer your question, No. 2B will not be the MC, but she'll have a lot of screentime. This story is mainly focus on Xavier (aka me) and not on 2B. I'm sorry if you wanted that. And yeah the MC does scream, but that's only for now. He'll be more composed and scream less in future chapters.

Chapter 2: A letter from R.O.B and Save 2B and the others from there deaths!! Part 2
(Location: The Bunker, 5 minutes earlier)
(3rd POV)
"Commander, 2B and her Squadron had made it inside the factory with no loss of the members. But they have lost their Flight units." White heard 6O say, as she nods her head, but she sighs internally. The cost of 6 flight units are going to give her a headache. She closes her eyes and puts her focus back on the mission, she'll worry about new flight units later.
"Good. Is 9S nearby with his flight unit?" White said while she still looks at the big screen, observing 2B and her team. She then looks towards the direction that 9S operator, 21O, is at.
"Yes. 9S is in the area to where 2B and her team is located at. He's curre-"
21O is suddenly interrupted, as an alert sounds throughout the command room. This cause the operators to go into a panic, furiously typing to find out what is going on.
"Status!" White ordered, as she looked at the screen as it say 'Warning: Massive energy spike near Abandoned factory' this made her feel on edge, turning to 21O and giving her an order. "21O! Contact 9S immediately and have him check out this unknown phenomena. If it's friendly, then tell him to observe it, but if it's a dangerous foe..." she trails off, as the whole room goes silent. "Then tell him to eliminate it immediately." White told 21O with a serious expression.
"Yes Commander." 21O replied, already typing away to get into contact. A few minutes has passed she couldn't be able to contact him for some reason. "Commander, I believe something is blocking me from contacting him." She said, a bit of worry that something bad had happened to 9S. Suddenly the main in the command room warning blares off again, but this time it said "WARNING: OLD WORLD MAGIC IS NEAR THE ABANDONED FACTORY."
The whole room goes silent, everyone was shocked beyond belief. All the Operators look at the Commander, waiting for her response. But to their surprise they see her with an expression of shock and disbelief, as if she's ready to break down.
"Commander?" 21O calling out to her, snapping her back into reality. She then see her turn her head towards at her direction, with a frantic, but a serious expression on her face.
"21O, can you contact 9S now?" White said, her voice sounding a bit hopeful. 21O ignores the hopefulness in her voice as she type away, before she got access and nods her head towards White. Knowing this she gave 21O her orders. "I want to speak to him personally." White ordered, falling back into her cold, serious profession.
After 21O nodded her head, White couldn't help but to hope that if her prediction is correct then...
'If my prediction is correct, then...' White thought as she place a hand on her chest, smiling slightly as she look at the big screen once more, a determined look in her eyes and quietly say, "We can't wait to serve you our God."
(Location: Outside the abandoned factory, 5 minutes before The Bunker incident)
(1st POV)
After 9S just got done explaining to 2B and her team on why there are so many machine lifeforms, and why they're using the factory for it. He sighs softly in boredom, swinging his legs as he waits for them to exit the factory. He then suddenly notice his Pod, Pod 153, floats right in front of him. "Hm? What is it Pod?" He asked, standing up from his spot.
"Alert massive energy spike not far from our location." Pod 153 said in her robotic female voice. This causes 9S to stumble a bit from the sudden notification from his Pod. "Warning: Old World Magic is located at the massive energy spike. Hypothesis: both the energy spike and Old World Magic is connected to one another." She beeps twice and surprise 9S once more from hearing his Pod's next words. "Incoming transmission from The Commander." Pod 153 said before pull up the holographic screen and have Commander White pop up.
"Commander to 9S. I have a request for you to do." The Commander told him, making him stand up straight and nod his head for her to continue. "I need you go to check out on the massive energy spike near the abandoned factory. I believe an entity with Old World Magic might be there. Not only that but I want you spy on it as well." She told him, seeing him nod his head.
"Yes Commander, I'll get right on it. Glory to Mankind." 9S said, as he does the YoRHa salute. But before she could end the transmission, he call out to her. "Oh! Wait I have one important question on my mind." He said, making her raise a brow.
"Very well then. What's your question gonna be 9S?" Commander White said to him.
"U-Um... is the entity quite possibly b-be a h-human?" He asked nervously.
"..." the line was silent on the other end, making him more nervous than before. After what seems like forever to 9S, which was just a moment, she finally answer his question. "We're not completely sure if it is a human. Maybe it's another android during the times from the Old World, but yes it's one of my hypothesis that it could be in fact a human from the Old World here in our time and age." She told him.
9S eyes widen behind his blindfold before a wide smile grace his lips. "Yes ma'am! Will do! Glory to Mankind!!" 9S said, but with determination, excitement, and happiness. Commander White notice this and nods her head, a small smile appear on her face, saluting to her once more. She nods her head and end the transmission.
After a couple of seconds, 9S immediately begin to head towards his flight unit, but he had more pep in his step. He reach towards his flight unit, stepping into it.
"Pod, see if you can give me the location of where the unknown entity is at?" Said 9S.
"Affirmative, sending you the location." Pod 153 replied, giving 9S the location as he flies off to said location.
'I hope this unknown entity is a human, I could ask him what it's like during his time.' He thought excitedly.
(Location: near the abandoned factory)
9S lands on top of the old buildings and exits his flight unit, that's in mobile configuration, then afterwards he call his pod over to help him search for the exact location of the unknown entity.
"Pod use the scanner model to help me find the unknown entity, I'll use thermal sensors to find the area of where the entity is at." 9S told his pod.
Affirmative, switching to scanner model." Pod 153 said, as it switches to it's scanner model and looks down below. It begins to beep slowly, after a few minutes of constant searching from the rooftop, he saw on the thermal sensor a blob of red in his view. Not only that but Pod 153 beeping begins to rapidly beep on the same area 9S is looking at.
"Location found." Pod 153 said, going back to it's standard model and flies back to 9S from 30 or 50 meters away from the spot the entity is at.
9S then turns off his thermal sensor and looks at the spot with some excitement. But before he could examine the entity, he forgot to inform 2B and the rest of her team that he's out spying on the entity.
"I need to contact 2B and the others, and tell what is going on." 9S said, before he look towards his pod. "Pod, send a transmission to 2B for me will ya?" He asked. Getting a "affirmative." from Pod 153, before it opens up a holographic screen and 2B's face comes into view.
"9S to 2B. 2B? You there?" He asked her.
"2B here, what is it 9S? You was silent during the time we was in the factory. Did you find anything?" She asked him.
"Yeah. Apparently I got a transmission from the Commander herself." 9S replied, as he saw her freeze up and the other Androids in the background, gathering their attention as well. He then see her regain her composure and spoke in a serious voice.
"What did she tell you? An update about our mission?" She asked him.
"She told there was a massive energy spike near the abandoned factory. Though the energy spike came and left just like that. So The Commander wanted me to investigate it to see what it's all about. It's one of the reasons why I wasn't talking throughout the mission." 9S said, looking at the rest of the Androids lost in thought.
'Maybe it's because they didn't-'
"FUCK!! AAAAAGGGGHHH! GOD FUCKING DAMN IT!!" A scream could be heard by all, frightening the birds, 12H. 9S, on the other hand, almost fell off the building he was on. But thankfully, Pod 153 reacted quick enough and grabbed a hold on him, pulling him back as he takes a few deep breaths.
'Th-That was close...' He thought as he put his hand on his chest, trying to calm down his black box.
"W-what was t-t-that?" 12H asked the question that was on the team's mind. 9S noticed this, and begins to recollect himself and answer her question.
"I-I think it was the very thing I was supposed to spy on for the time being." 9S said, after gaining his composure he look down to where the entity is and find-
"An android?" He asked out loud in confusion, making the others confused as well. He then frowns in dissatisfaction, hoping that it would be a human and not another android.
But before he voice his displeasure, his visor begins to pick up something far off, a couple hundred meters away from 2B and the others. It didn't take him long to realize what it was, and he quickly begin to inform her.
"2B! I found the target's location!!" 9S informs her and the rest of the team. This made the group regain their composure and spring into action.
"Can you give us the coordinations?" She asked him, getting a nod from him and goes back to his flight unit. As he get ready to transform it into it's plane mode, he looks at the android one more time.
He then came to the conclusion that he'll come back to the Android after he completes his original mission.
'Besides, it's not like he got anything better to do right now. I'm sure he'll be fine and stay to where he is at. Right?' 9S thought to himself as he flies off back towards the abandoned factory.
As he doesn't know he just jinxed them all.
(Present time)
(3rd POV)
2B and the others watch as the Goliath-Class machine lifeform went underwater, confusing them on the sudden retreat. But then they soon felt something underneath them, making them all come to the conclusion that it's trying to break the bridge underneath them.
"Quick! Follow behind me, and don't stop until you can't feel the tremors anymore!!" She ordered, gaining nods from her team.
They began to move as the tremor slowly begin to decrease until they only felt vibrations underneath their feet. After a few seconds, the Goliath-Class machine lifeform suddenly pops up in front of them, sending part of the bridge into the sky. They crossed their arms in front of them, as the water splashed all over their bodies. Bringing their arms down, they all stare up at the Engel as it stare down at them.
"2B!!" 9S screamed, as his flight unit switched into it's mobile configuration in the air and flies right in front of the Engel. "What's the status guys?" 9S said through comms.
"We found the target." 7E said, pointing out the obvious. This made 4B roll her eyes at this, before 2B spoke in her usual stoic voice.
"And we're going to destroy it." She said, making the rest of the Androids, excluding 9S, look at her like she had grown a second head.
"U-Uhhh ok, I'll provide support!" 9S replied back to her, before cutting the comms.
"Destroy it? Destroy it!? How are we gonna destroy this thing?!" 4B yelled at 2B, not at all pleased by this declaration. They all jump back, dodging it's attack and lands back down on the bridge.
"We'll find a way" was her response to the question, making the rest of them drop their jaws. As 9S pepper it shots, keeping it distracted for them. Then 11B then sighs out loud, shrugging her shoulders and stand beside 2B.
"Hey it's better than nothing." She said, cracking her knuckles as she now have a smirk on her. "Besides I wanted a good challenge anyways, and this big guy decided to show up. So you can count me in 2B!" She said, nodding at her as 2B nods back.
The others was shocked at this, but then 12H walks up besides 11B and have a look of determination on her face.
"I-If 11B ready is to go, t-then I'm ready too!" She said with a fire in her voice, surprising all of them. 11B was the first to regain her composure and place a hand on her shoulder, giving her a thumbs up. Shocked, 12H looked towards 2B and see her smiling lightly at her. Nodding her head at this, she gains a serious expression and looked towards the Engel, who is still occupied with 9S.
"Count me in too! I'm not letting you guys have all the fun~!" 7E said gleefully, standing next to 2B on her left side and gives her a thumbs up.
4B stood there completely shocked beyond words, not believing that they're gonna face that thing with no flight units. She then look to her saving grace, 1D, to be the voice of reason. 1D looked at her, before smiling apologetically at her.
"Sorry, but you heard our leader. Orders are orders." 1D said with smile on her face, walking next to jumping 7E.
"..." 4B just stand there, with her mouth agape. Her mind couldn't even process the sheer insanity of this plan. But then she let's out a long, loud sigh of defeat and joins them. "Fine... but if we all die, I'm going to kill all of you myself, got it!?" She growled in angrily.
"No promises" was the response she got from them. She sighs once more as she looks up at the Engel, after 9S flew away a good distances from the Engel's last attack. The Engel returns it attention back towards the girls and gets ready to attack, making the girls summoning their weapons and prepares to dodge it's attack then counterattack it afterwards.
"I hate you all." 4B last reply was, before the fight commenced.
They all gracefully dodged the attack, before they all counterattack it in unison, excluding 12H since she swings her sword around with the help of the Nanobots around the handle. The Engel slowly moves it arm back and goes underneath the bridge again, making them run farther away the abandoned factory. After the fourth tremor, it pops up once more, sending debris and water everywhere once again.
"Damn it!! We're barely hurting it!" Said 4B.
"Yeah! We're just clipping it's fingernails is all!" Said 11B, a bit frustrated that they're not doing any significant damage to it.
"Keep trying!! I'm something will work!! Said 1D, sending three digital hammers towards it face, as well as 2B and 7E, firing lasers at it's face.
"Awwww if only we had our flight units, this would have been over in no time! But noooo, our flight units was destroyed getting here." Said 7E, glaring up at the Engel.
2B didn't say anything, but she too felt a bit frustrated the lack of significant changes as well. But before she could say anything, she hears 9S's flight unit coming in.
"Let me hack into it. Just give me a sec!" 9S replied, as he gets right in front of it, flying over the girls.
Then the Engel fires missiles at them, but 9S caught them all, stopping them in midair, and turn them around. With a snall, audibly grunt, he sends the missiles back towards the Engel. Multiple explosions goes off as the Engel upper half rocks back a bit.
All of the girls, excluding 1D and 2B, cheered as they it's eyes slowly fade out. They all gather around one another in a circle, while 9S flies to the side watching them, as they converse with one another. 2B looks up at the Engel, before she heard it powering itself back up. Taken aback by this, and the others, it raised it's excavator bucket wheel arm up, with flames surrounding it and brings it down at them.
"BOOST!" 9S screamed, his flight unit managed to hit it out of the way in time, saving the girls from their doom. But he was hit from behind by the other Engel's excavator bucket wheel. This impact not only knocks his flight unit away, but it knocks him out of it as well.
"9S!!" 2B screams out in worry for 9S's safety, the others watch with horror. 9S's body falls on top of the Engel as it powers down once more and leans over on the bridge.
"9S!" 2B called out to him, but received no response from him. This makes her worry for the worst, but her pod, Pod 43, then say.
"9S black box signal detected. No response to communication." Pod 43 said.
"I'm going after him, you all stay here. 1D I'm giving you command over the Squadron if I don't come back with 9S, or I don't come back at all." She doesn't wait for a response as she runs towards the Engel, running across one of the runways on it. But before she could go any further, she felt the Engel get back up, looking down at the girls. Knowing that they can handle it, she continues her up the Engel, running into a few machine lifeforms and quickly cutting them down.
"Send a support request to Command!" She frantically said, slashing at another machine lifeform.
"Negative. Communications have been jammed." Pod 43 replied back, as it shoot and incoming machine lifeforms. She trek along the Engel at a quickening pace, before she glances and noticed that it's just shooting at them.
'It's probably not fully functional yet, which means I need to hurry and get 9S off of the thing and fast.' She thought as she makes her way up towards a ladder. She then begins to climb the ladder by hopping over a couple of them, before she makes to the platform. She then runs near close to where 9S is at. She then climbs up one more ladder and sees 9S, damaged.
"9S!" She called out, but he doesn't respond. She can see how badly damaged he is right now. Missing two limbs, an arm, and a leg, she can see a few gashes across his body. As she runs to him, but was immediately stopped four small machine lifeforms fall from the sky and immediately begin to attack her.
Not wanting to waste time with them, she summons her sword and begin to hack and slash them, showing them no mercy. She gracefully dodged one's attack, countering it by launching it up in the air and slicing it completely in two with her larger sword. After a few more machine lifeforms she runs up to 9S's body and places her hands on his chest.
"I have to repair him." She spoke lowly, having one hand holding his head up, while the other gently press on his neck. "Pod, get me staunching gel and logic-virus vaccines. Then access the-"
"Inadvisable. The subject's vital signs are too pour to attempt field repair in the current-"
"Shut up! Just do as I say!" 2B snaps at Pod 43, turning her head at it's direction, before turning back towards 9S. Her left gently touch his right cheek as the other one is holding his head up.
"2B... Just go..." 9S said, but 2B snaps at him as well, but with less harshness than what she said to her Pod.
"You shut up too!" She said, bringing her head a bit closer to 9S's. Then 9S grab her hand from on his chest and holds it up in the air.
"We... we're... Sold... iers. We take pride in... our service..." 9S said to her. Making her gasp softly from him to hear. Then Pod 43 turns and sees 9S's flight unit hovering up towards them. It then lands in it's mobile configuration mode, Pod 43 floating towards it.
"Ho229 Flight unit. Command 667 received. Usage rights transferred from 9S to 2B. Requesting acknowledgement." Pod 43 said as it enters the flight unit, making it's color change to white.
"Please..." He pledged in a raspy voice. 2B gently set his head back down and place his remaining hand on his chest.
"Alright..." 2B said, before she slowly gets up and heads towards the flight unit and hops into it. It changes back it's plane mode and flies off to finish the fight.
She flies into front of it, drawing it's attention to her. The rest of notice this and are relieved that 2B is back. 1D smiles at 2B, before she falls on her knees exhausted from dodging the Engel's shots. 12H runs up to her begins to heal her wounds, as 1D stare at 2B and closes her eyes.
"Finish it." 1D said, not moving from her spot.
But then everyone there was stunned of what the Engel did next.
"Kill... Kill... Kill... Kill..." the Engel said as it swing and fires laser and energy bolts at 2B. As the group looked on with shocked, not believing on what they heard it say. But 4B decided to break the silence.
"Did that junk of scrap metal just..." she trailed off, as 2B finished for her.
"Talked? I didn't know the machines had that kind of intelligence." Said 2B.
"I don't think neither of us did to be honest..." said 11B, still shocked that she heard the machine lifeform talk.
"2B... I found the weakness in the target." 9S said, surprising everyone that he's still alive. "Hacking in... to provide support." They him say as 2B destroy some of missiles, from the missile barrage, that was gonna hit her team.
Not a second later, 9S found the weakness.
"2B... The control..on the enemy's upper arm... Use your Pod... Sh-Should be able to take it over..." 9S said, barely hanging there.
"I told you to shut up!" 2B snaps at him, dodging a swing from the Engel. Then the Engel thrust it's right arm foward and 2B meets it head on. They have a power struggle for just a few seconds, before she was launched a good distance.
"Control...of upper arm...seized from enemy unit. Marking weak point." 9S said.
"Got it." 2B said, flying directly towards the Engel in plane mode. She gets closer and closer, weaving and dodging shot after shot.
"Seize it's control system!" 2B said through comms, switching to mobile configuration again.
"Affirmative. Infiltrating enemy sub-unit." Pod 43 said, as 2B destroy it's left arm. Then a white yellowish ring appears from it, as it float near the flight unit. "Behavior table adjusted. Balance control overriden. Enemy unit subjugation compete." Pod 43 said.
2B the raised the arm up and smack it against it's left side, dealing a lot of damage. She then does it again, dealing even more damage to it. Then after the third strike, it's severely weakened it, that it's almost non functional. 2B notice this and throws the arm away, before she flies down towards it at high speeds, damaging it. But fires it missiles at her, but she dodges them. Then she did something the make her team eyes widen, and jumping out of flight unit, with her Katana in hand, and stabbed it in the eye. All while shouting "Would you... just die already!"
Multiple explosions spread throughout it's body, unfortunately it got 2B in the process and sends her flying to where 9S is located at.
"2B!!" The girls called out to her, thinking she died. But then they hear 9S's and 2B's, to their relief, voice through comms.
"Heheh... talk about bringing the battle to them... huh 2B?" 9S said.
"Contact Command. Request assistance." 2B said.
"You got it 2B. We'll get right on to-" 7E said but was interrupted by 9S.
"No... it doesn't looks like that's... going to be necessary." 9S said, as three more Engels appear from the ocean, surrounding the Androids.
"W-What?..." 11B said, terrified by the sudden reinforcement.
"W-we're gonna die..." 1D said, as she hugs herself, tears swelling up in her eyes.
"N-No!! This can't be it!! This be right!? Right!?! RIGHT!??" 4B said, with tears streaming down her cheeks.
7E and 12H are both nothing but a weeping mess.
"The only option we have is to self-destruct... Requesting destruction, via black box." 9S said, bringing out his black box and holding it up to 2B. As they heard 21O over the comms.
"Request accepted." 21O said.
"Yeah..." their eyes widen even more once they here 2B agrees with him, pulling hers out and holds it up close to his.
"It's been an honor serving with you guys... truly." 9S said over the comms.
"The honor was mine." 2B said, as the rest of them give each other a group hug and accepting their deaths.
9S and 2B bring their black boxes together, Pod 43 interrupts and makes them all go shock beyond disbelief.
"Alert. Old World Magic heading straight for one of the Goliath-Class machine lifeform." Pod 43 said. And immediately after that a huge black, energy wave, sliced through the Engel on the far right. A huge explosion followed afterwards.
This left the group speechless from the display of power, as they all whip their heads around towards the location and they could faintly see an object running towards their direction at sonic speeds.
"W-what is that? Who or what did that? And where did it come from? W-was it that black bot that's heading our way?" 12H said through comms. But her question would soon by the one who sent that black energy wave. As the girls turned to look at her.
"W-what? There's no w-way someone can do that" said 4B.
Maybe it was that black dot heading towards us. Plus the Pod said Old World Magic, whatever that means..." said 11B, regaining her composure.
"But that's impossible. Old World Magic hasn't been used since-" 1D was about to say until she stopped and froze completely. This made the others, excluding 11B, to put the pieces together and leave them in a state denial, but with hope, and 9S getting all giddy.
"Since what 1D?" 11B asked, but her question was answered by another voice that was heard throughout the comms, a voice none of them ever heard before. until today, and it leaves the Bunker as well as leaves everyone in disbelief and with a blazing inferno of hope inside their black boxes.
"Since the very humans who used to walked on this very earth sweetheart." The girls whip their heads around to see Xavier walking up to them with a smile, a smile that boosted their morale of getting out of there alive once more. "So I'll put your hearts or black boxes at ease, because..." he stops for a moment, before sighing out loud. Looking up at the remaining two Engel with a frown, while he points [Ryūjin No Shi] at them with a glare on his face. "Your God has come to save you from your deaths!" He exclaims as dark gray electricity dance violently around [Ryūjin No Shi] .
