Lady Countryrose

Ch. 1

James sighed, but looked at the words on the page. "Hermione, you were born to two magical parents. They are…"

Hermione never thought that her life would change in a matter of a moment. Not like it was doing right now. She felt like time had frozen itself. Waiting for Mr. Potter to read what the name of her parents were. When she did see the page, her eyes could not focus enough to read the page.

"Bellatrix Black Lestrange and Rodolphus Lestrange," she heard Mr. Potter's voice, became angry and despair for what they had learned. She had no idea who they were, but she had a bad feeling for who they were. Causing her to tear and shiver. Even after seeing the anger in Sirius's eyes.

Hermione turned away from the people in the room. She felt very alone. Even before leaving her supposed family home. She did not have a family of her own. Even those that were labeled as her family, she could tell were bad people.

She didn't know what was going on, but she heard Remus and Sirius fighting. Until she heard and saw Remus slug Sirius in the face. Before Sirius had fallen onto the floor in front of her. Where he looked up at her with sadness in his eyes.

"I am sorry for my anger, Kitten." Sirius looked sad and started to show signs of him calming down. "My family has been a sore subject with me. Each one of them are into Dark magic, and they like harming people. Something I strongly disagree with."

He reached for her hands. "I am your mother's cousin." She looked at him with sadness. "I am going to do something that I never thought I would ever do, I am Lord Black. I can name you my heir.

"With that, I am naming you my child. Since we are in Gringotts, I can make that legal. With that, I will protect you from the rest of our deranged families."

"Are you sure," she whimpered. "What do I call you?"

The man before her smiled brightly. "You can call me, Dad. Because that is what the Wizarding World will know. What name would you like to be called, Kitten?"

Hermione smiled as a thought came to her. "Hermione Starlla Black."

"Starlla," he asked with wonder. He chuckled, "Well, there is no star with that name. But I think that will fit."

Hermione couldn't help herself, but she hugged him. She had known the man most of her life. Only to make him her new Dad. She could live with the new changes. As long as Mr. Potter was there to help.

The Goblin that helped her find her family. Had done a few extra things for them, like adoption and right of heiress for Hermione Black. She had to sign papers with her name, as well as to send those papers to the Ministry of Magic, and Hogwarts for the new name change and other things.

After everything was done, Hermione was given a Gringotts key for her own bank account. When they came back to Potter Manor, everyone was surprised to see Hermione with them.

"Mione, what is going on? I thought you were heading home with your parents," Harry asked her.

She felt like that whatever she was going to tell him. He was going to get mad. "I found out I was adopted, Harry."

"Oh," he gave her a worried look. "Who are your parents then?"

"I am," Sirius piped up with a smile. He wrapped an arm around Hermione, after he had walked towards them. "I am her Dad, Harry."

Harry tooled at Sirius with anger in his eyes. "If that was true, then why didn't you know that Hermione was your daughter?"

Sirius sighed, "Life was not easy during the early eighties, kido. But during that time, I heard that the girl I loved died…"

Hermione had heard a story that Sirius and Remus were trying to throw around. Only to come up that she was a product of a love child, that her Dad did not know about. And her mother died in the hospital. It was possible, but after seeing Sirius trying to tell Harry. She could see a raging anger from her best friend.

She wiggled out of Sirius's hug and hugged Harry. "Does it really matter how I was born? At least we can grow up together, Harry. We are still family, since we are cousins."

Harry turned to his own Dad in wonder. "Is that true, Dad? Is Hermione my cousin?"

Mr. Potter smiled, "Yes Harry, you are. Since Sirius and I are blood brothers." He chuckled after seeing Harry jumping in glee.

"Alright, I am kind of bloomed that you're not my sister, Hermione. But you, being my cousin, is still alright with me." Harry hugged her close. Making Hermione smile even more.

"What about my things from Diagon Alley," asked Hermione in wonder.

Mr. Potter smiled with an uneasy look on his face. "They had asked me to hold onto those things, since you were going to be coming back, before school had started."

"But what about my things that I have in their house?" Hermione may not have a lot of things. But she cherished the things that she was given. Even the book collection that she had started.

Sirius sighed, "I will whisk myself over and get some things for you." He smiled and then left to do what he had told her.

Mr. Potter smiled at her. "Let's go and find you a room, Miss Black."

Hermione scrunched her nose. "That is going to take a while to get used to."

Mr. Potter laughed, "Yeah, I could never imagine Sirius being a Dad. Especially when it comes to you. I fear that you might win every argument with him."

Hermione couldn't help but smirk at the thought. "It would be entertaining to see him try to win."

Everyone laughed at the image. Within a few moments of wandering upstairs. They stopped at a door on the west wing.

"The door across from this one is Sirius's room," stated Mr. Potter before opening the door. "This is your room, Hermione."

Inside was an ensuite, where the bedroom was done in dusty rose, with gold accents. The bed was a large full size with the same colors as the room. Along with an ivory knitted blanket on top. There was a desk near a window nook, for reading, and some bookcases. Along with a walk in closet and a large bathroom of her own.

"How do you like it," asked Mr. Potter with worry.

"I like it, very much, and thank you, Mr. Potter!" She gave him a heartwarming smile.

He waved at her. "Just call me, Uncle James. Then everything will be alright."

Hermione smiled, "Thank you, Uncle James."

Within moments, Sirius came stumbling into the room with a huff. Shoving everything that he was carrying onto the bed. Hermione blushed at seeing her animal hissing at her supposed father.

"Thanks, Dad." She then grabbed Crookshanks and hugged him close. She was a small part of her, that was afraid of the changes that were happening in her life. She just hoped that things would settle down soon.

Before Sirius was about to say anything. James jumped in and said, "I think it's time for dinner, Sirius. We spent most of the day jumping from one place to another, forgetting to eat."

Sirius nodded, "You are right, James." He then looked towards Hermione with a smile. "I want to let you know, I am here for you, Kitten."

"Thank you," she smiled, before she was led down to the dining room for dinner. The day did not start the way she wanted, but it did end with a good note. At least to her, it did, since she would be living in the same house as Harry and now, her new father.
