Hey Dare211 here, I just want to say thanks for all the support and advice for this story, and your feedback is very much appreciated, and is what inspires me to keep writing, but before we start, I have to say a few things.
I have been asked for a harem of sorts, and I will let you know that i do not plan on doing a harem in this story, not saying that there won't be, but I'm just saying the chances are slim, because well, harems aren't really my style. Now, onto the story.
Sasuke observed the people around him to see what he would be dealing with, a very hyperactive girl in a pink and white skirt and orange hair whose name was Nora Valkyrie, Lie Ren who wore a green shirt and white pants and black hair, Jaune Arc who had blond hair, white armor, and wore a sword at his waist, and lastly Ruby Rose, a girl with silver eyes, black hair with the tips a dark red, a red cape and hood, and a black skirt.
Sasuke laid back on his chair as he watched the four crowd Oscar, as he explained what it was like to have two souls in him, a person named Ozpin.
"Did he age backwards?" Nora asked
"He's possessed!" Jaune had answered
"Or reincarnated," Ren had said
"Oh, isn't it weird?" Ruby asked Oscar
The four crowded in front of the poor boy, watching him expectantly
Sasuke sighed as he drank a cup of coffee, no cream and very little sugar, that way it had a neutral taste. It was his first time drinking this, but he surprisingly liked it.
"It is very weird, yes," Oscar had told the four before, then looked down at his lap when Qrow came walking in
"Okay, Okay, lets just take a second and remember that this is very overwhelming for everyone," Qrow said before looking at the four crowding Oscar
Immediately the four backed off and laughed embarrassed, then took a seat
Oscar made a relieved face and looked at Qrow
"Thanks," Oscar said
"No problem kiddo," Qrow replied as he went and took a seat
Good, Sasuke would've done it but he didn't really feel like talking right now, and he could see Oscar was a bit uncomfortable. Sasuke sipped from his coffee mug.
Oscar looked at Ruby, who smiled at him, and Oscar immediately looked away blushing
"Sorry, it's just that this is my first time ever seeing huntsmen or huntresses," Oscar explained
"Well, uh, we've never met a person with two souls before. Sooo, first time's all around!" she said in a reassuring tone.
Oscar gave her s small smile before Qrow spoke up
"Ahem, uh, sorry for breaking up your whole getting-to-know-you game, but we need to talk," Qrow said in a serious tone, then nodded at Oscar
"Mind showing us you're little parlor trick kid?" Qrow asked
Oscar groaned, but reluctantly nodded
"Yeah, okay, but just so you know, I'll still be here, alright," Oscar said
The four hunters looked at him confused
Oscar then closed his eyes, as if focusing, and took a deep breath, then suddenly he lighted up in a small burst of green light, and one it receded, he opened his eyes, which seemed to glow gold for a second before reverting back to its natural color.
"Hello, it is very good to see you again, students," Oscar said, but his voice was different, like instead of a male teenager talking, it was an adult male that was speaking.
Sasuke was a bit intrigued. He didn't really expect this.
The four hunters looked at each other before Jaune asked, "Wait, what just happened?"
"Professor Ozpin?" Ren asked
"Correct," Oscar-or Ozpin- answered, "although I may be the one speaking, Oscar is still mentally present. He merely handed me over the control, so to speak."
"So he knows everything that is happening right now?" Sasuke asked
The four looked at Sasuke as if just remembering that he was there
"Yes, he hears everything both you and I say in the room at this very moment," Ozpin replied, and then put his hands on his lap and continued after letting what he said sink in a little
"I'm afraid that this may all be very perplexing," Ozpin had said before Nora interrupted
"And alarming, and bizarre, and just really kind of hard to believe overall," Nora had said
"It may be for them, but for me, this isn't really all that surprising," Sasuke thought as he set his now empty mug down and the armrest of his chair
Ozpin chuckled before saying, "It's very good to see you children still have your sense of humor," then he paused for a little, then continued, "I know you've all been through tremendous hardships already. I'm sorry."
"I mean, it's not your fault," Ruby told him with a slightly saddened face
Ozpin gave her a disappointed face and looked down. "It's all my fault."
Qrow suddenly got up and lef, taking his mug with him
"I told you once that I have made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. I wasn't exaggerating," Ozpin continued, "I'm cursed. For thousands of years, I've walked the surface of Remnant, living, dying, and reincarnating in the body of a like-minded soul. The Professor Ozpin you all met was not my first form, and clearly not my last. It is a strenuous process for everyone involved."
"So, who, what are you?" Jaune asked
"I am the combination of countless men who had spent their lives trying to protect Remnant," Ozpin answered as Qrow came back and handed Ozpin a mug before sitting back down
"With every rebirth, my soul is eventually merged with another, and I am changed, but my memories stay with me," Ozpin explained who then looked into his cup, and saw his reflection in the surface of the brown liquid
"This curse was bestowed on me by the gods because i failed to stop Salem in the past, but we must stop her now," Ozpin said
"And how do we do that?" Ruby asked
Ozpin crossed his legs and replied, "First, we start by ensuring the safety of the Relic of Knowledge, but before we do that, let's get to know our guest here," who then nodded at Sasuke
The hunters looked at Sasuke a bit confused
"Seeing that even I don't know much about you, I would like to know more about the person who so easily overpowered 4 bandits, and managed to radiate such a overpowering aura," Ozpin said
Qrow sat up a bit perplexed
"Wait, you mean you had only just met this guy?!" Qrow asked Ozpin-Oscar, who nodded
"What aura is he talking about?" Jaune asked when suddenly a heavy, dark, almost suffocating feeling spread throughout the room
"I believe that the two-souled immortal is talking about this," Sasuke said as he flared his chakra
"What-how-what is happening!?" Ruby sputtered
Ozpin noticed that this time, the aura radiating from Sasuke was even more dark and heavy, and he felt a little uneasy as he put his hand on the handle of his cane that was next to him
"The only person who could do something this dark can only be an agent for Salem," Ren said as he and Nora drew their weapons, and Ruby pulled out Crescent Rose and turned it into Scythe mode.
"You made a big mistake coming in here like this, cause now you're outnumbered," Qrow said as he pulled out his sword, Harbinger.
"If you are here for Ruby, then you ain't gonna walk outta here with both legs in one piece," Nora threatened as she held up her hammer
Tension built into the air, ready to explode at the slightest provocation
"Why am I dealing with this?" Sasuke asked himself. He could easily kill them all in only a matter of seconds, and yet he chose just to sit there and take their threats. No one ever threatened Sasuke without him at least showing them why he wouldn't take it idly. And he wasn't even the least bit mad or insulted. "Damn you Naruto! You did this to me!"
Sasuke finally relented and stopped letting his chakra flare out of his body and he forces his chakra back into his body
"I'm not an enemy, and I would rather prefer not to be one, but if you force my hand, then don't be sorry that you attacked me," Sasuke said as he stood up and off his chair
"And how can you prove that you don't work for Salem?" Qrow asked
Sasuke sighed. Looks like he was gonna have to spill the beans.
"Because I'm here to kill her," Sasuke said
Qrow looked at him a bit amused, and said, "yeah, and like we're gonna help a stranger that could easily stab us in the back when we're not looking."
Ozpin held his hand up to silence Qrow, then said, "He may very well be telling the truth. I don't believe any of Salem's minions are strong enough to take us ALL together by themselves, and I believe they have enough sense to know that. And if he was an enemy, don't you think he would have attacked us already, stolen Ruby, and left?"
Sasuke looked at the boy quizzically. Why was Ozpin defending him?
However, Jaune didn't seem to be satisfied with Ozpin's explanation.
"But what if he isn't alone? What if he has more friends with him outside?" Jaune challenged
Sasuke gave Jaune a blunt stare, and said, "If you knew me, you would know that I would not bring a partner with me, much less a team."
Sasuke always preferred to work alone. He had no trouble working in a team setting, but he preferred to be a loner, that way no one on his side would get in the way. Matter of fact, Sasuke would've preferred having never met Oscar, if it meant having to deal with this, even though his potential power was interesting, but nothing he would risk his neck for in this kind of situation.
"Only time can tell if this man is on our side or not," Ozpin said
However, Ruby didn't seem to trust Sasuke at all because she cocked her sniper/scythe, ready to fire.
"Oh, and by the way, I could easily defeat you all by myself," Sasuke said after he sat back down, and then looked at Ruby and activated his Sharingan to do Genjutsu, "Would you please stop pointing that contraption at me and sit down."
Nothing happened. Sasuke didn't understand. Why wasn't Genjutsu working!? He knew there was nothing wrong with his Sharingan because when he came into this world he used Genjutsu on a shopkeeper so he could get some clothes and the black cloak he was currently wearing. What could possibly be protecting them from his Genjutsu?
Wait a second
Sasuke looked at Ruby a bit harder. There was no denying it, she had some sort of special power that no one in the room here had. A Kekkei Genkei of sorts. He could see her soul. The Yin and Yang halves were both colored red, which suited her, but there was a part of the yang half that wasn't red. It was silver. He suddenly remembered that Oscar said something earlier about Ruby having silver eyes.
Sasuke looked at her eyes, which were undoubtedly silver. Could it be that she had some sort of Dojutsu?
Sasuke noticed that Ruby was getting a bit uncomfortable with the way he was looking at her and Sasuke looked at Qrow who had a rather pissed off look on his face. Sasuke sighed and deactivated his Sharingan.
"Wait, how were you able to do that?" Nora asked as she saw his eyes go from red and black back to obsidian black.
"Could that happen to be your semblance?" Ozpin asked
"Should I tell them about what is most likely my greatest ability?" Sasuke asked himself. Sasuke looked at the hunters. Sasuke couldn't see where they could use it against him.
Sasuke sighed as he said, "Yes, it is my semblance. It is a genetic one, one that is passed down from my ancestors throughout my entire tribe, and now I wield this powerful weapon. My clan call this a Sharingan."
"You have a hereditary semblance? I know someone else who has a hereditary semblance," Ruby said
"Wait, there's only one known family that has a hereditary semblance, the Schnee family. How is it that no one knew of your bloodline or your clan?" Ren asked, his face full of suspicion
This might take some time.
"My clan kept our abilities secret because they were afraid that our enemies would kill us and take our eyes and use them for their own benefits," Sasuke lied, although part of that was true. Danzo did massacre his clan, and while he was at it, took many sharingan for himself. Sasuke made sure he paid for massacring his clan.
Sasuke continued, "Our Sharingan allowed us many abilities. We can cause someone to see illusions just by making eye contact with them. It also allows us to analyze our opponent in a fight, which gives us a general idea of how they are going to attack. And there is even an evolved version of the Sharingan, called the Mangekyou Sharingan, which gave us three more powerful abilities, and strengthened our illusions. But anyone who does not have this semblance by blood can easily have it by taking our eyes and replacing their own eyes with ours. So we were taught how to fight at a young age."
Sasuke looked at his hands, which were now clenched. Most of this was a lie. Most. His clan WAS massacred, but not by Konoha. By his brother Itachi. And they were killed NOT because Konoha feared them, but because the Uchiha clan was going to overthrow Konoha, and Itachi didn't want to kill his own clan, but was forced to.
Now that Sasuke thought about it, it was Itachi who got him to where he was. If Itachi never killed his parents, Sasuke would have never gotten his Sharingan. It was Itachi's death that gave Sasuke the Mangekyou. And it was Itachi that made it possible for Sasuke to gain the Eternal Mangekyou. It was mainly Itachi who gave him and helped him evolve his eyes. It was Itachi who pushed him into a whole new level of power that Sasuke could have never gained on his own.
"Itachi, if only you were here,"
Sasuke continued, "I am the sole survivor of my clan. The nearby villages feared our power so much that they massacred us. That was when I unlocked my semblance."
Everyone was quiet. The building tension was replaced with something else.
Sasuke looked and studied at each and everybody's faces. Ozpin, Ren, and Nora each had an expression that showed varying degrees of understanding. Jaune had a shocked expression. Ruby had a sad, sympathetic expression, and Qrow just looked suspicious and skeptical.
Sasuke got up from his seat, and said, "I don't need your sympathy. I am perfectly fine by myself. If you want me to leave, then so be it."
Sasuke started towards the door, but before he could leave, he felt someone grab his arm. He turned around to see Ruby, her scythe no longer a scythe and was left by the couch.
"Wait! Please, don't go!" Ruby pleaded, "We're sorry, we didn't mean to do this."
Sasuke looked into Ruby's silver eyes. Those silver eyes that seemed to glow faintly for a second. Sasuke knew that she probably didn't know how to use this power yet, but he knew that if she did, she would become a major threat to this Salem.
Sasuke looked at her hand, which had so tightly wrapped around his arm, keeping him from leaving.
"Alright, I won't leave, but I need to be alone for a second," Sasuke said, as Ruby loosened her grip, and Sasuke walked out of the house to somewhere.
