A Hedgehog In Chaldea
Fuyuki (Part 2)
*Port Ruin*
Sonic and Mash we're at Port Ruin fighting off the enemies around them. Sonic performs a somersault/bicycle klick and knocks the Skeleton upwards into the air. Soon after, Mash slams her shield down towards the skeleton onto the ground and breaks the skeleton in half before fading away.
"Looks like the trash has been taken care of. Nice job, Mash." Sonic stretching his arms
"The hostile lifeform has been removed. Let's move on." Mash said
"I didn't know what would happen with that monster, but I expected nothing less of a Servant's body. Such power." Olga said
"Not that it makes them look any less scary... By the way Director, I have a question for you. The Fuyuki in our data and this Fuyku are just too different. What happened in this city, exactly? What are your thoughts, Director?" Mash asks
"Let's see, history must've been slightly disrupted. That's the only reason I can think of. Mash, Sonic. I'm only going to say this once, so listing up. Chaldea observes the future through an Earth model called Chaldeas. At the same time, a familiar called Laplace compiles past records. You can say it is Laplace's job to gather data on history that wasn't made public and information that was buried in darkness that no one knows. According to Laplace's observations, an unusual Holy Grail War was confirmed in this city in 2004." Olga explaining
"You mean the Holy Grail from the legend? The magical chalice that is the root of all magecraft, the one that is said to grant its holder's wishes?" Mash asks
"Yes, that's the one." Olga said
"Holy Grail War? Sorry to break it to you Olga, but I've never heard of this Holy Grail War you are talking about." Sonic said
"Well if you stop talking and let me explain, then I can give you more details about it." Olga said
"Sounds good to me. Explain what this Holy Grail War actually is." Sonic said
"...As I was saying, Mages in Fuyuki City competed for the Grail, and in order to activate it summoned seven Heroic Spirits. that was the beginning of the Holy Grail War. Unknown to anyone, Servants were summoned to this town. The Fuyuki Holy Grail War system is simple. Seven Masters fight each other. the last one standing gets the Grail. Chaldea learned about this in 2010. My father... I mean, the previous director used this data to build the summoning system. That's what makes up Chaldea's Heroic Spirit Summoning System, Fate. Our third invention after Laplace and Chaldeas." Olga said
"Third? Isn't that the Near-Future Observation Lens, Shiva?" Mash said
"That was created by Professor Leff. Well, I guess you can say we both worked on it. Anyway, this is where Servants come from. Seven Servants fought here, and in the end, Saber was victorious. The town wasn't destroyed, and the Servants shouldn't have been noticed by anyone, but... Now, this is happening. We should assume that the outcome changed due to this Singularity. The anomaly in 2004 brought about an alternation to human history and as a result, we're no longer able to see 100 years into the future. That's why it's our job to repair this anomaly. Somewhere here is the reason history has been disturbed. Once we analyze and eliminate it, that will complete our mission. All of us will be able to return to the present. Do you finally understand everything Sonic?" Olga said
"Well, let's see, this Holy Grail War started in this town, Servants were summoned to this town, all seven Masters fought each other for this Grail thing you mentioned, this Saber person was the winner of this whole ordeal, and we start standing in the aftermath of the whole ordeal. Am I correct?" Sonic said
"Yep, that's all that I explained. Good job for finally listening to me." Olga said
"Anyway, although we're not sure what's going on, it's good that the mission is simple." Mash said
"GuOOOOOOO!"
All of a sudden, more Skeleton enemies began to appear around the three while they were talking. This time, these skeletons were holding bows while an arrow was puncture through their eye socket.
"Not these guys again! Get rid of them, Mash, Sonic!" Olga panicking
"You heard the lady, Mash! It's time to get rid of these guys again!" Sonic said
"Understood, Master!" Mash said
Moments later, the two skeletons aimed their bows at Sonic, pulled their arrows back and fired at them. Mash quickly run's to Sonic's side, holding her shield out in front of them and blocking the oncoming arrows heading towards Sonic.
"Don't you dare try to hurt my Master!" Mash said
"Thanks, Mash! Now it's our turn to attack." Sonic said
Sonic quickly jumps over Mash and begins running towards the two Skeleton enemies in Light Speed. The skeletons took out more arrows, pull them back with their bows, aims towards Sonic and fired upon him. Sonic notices the oncoming arrows and rolls briefly on the ground and slides underneath the arrows, dodging them completely and continuing to run towards the Skeletons. Although he dodged the arrows, he looks behind and notices the arrows were now heading toward's Mash.
"Mash, look out!" Sonic shouted
Mash looks and notices the arrows heading towards her very fast. Without thinking twice, she rolls underneath them as the arrows zoom passed her and and landing behind her and getting stuck into the ground. Sonic turns his focus back to the Skeletons as he jumps into the air and performs a double-hitting "break-dance" spinning kick and destroys the Skeleton into pieces before fading away.
"...Phew, the battle is over Master. I'm relieved that we pulled through again." Mash said
"Don't give up just yet, expect more to appear very soon. Always stay on guard and fight back!" Sonic said
"Y-You're right Master. I will continue on fighting alongside you, don't worry. You can trust me." Mash said
"...Hey, Mash. Is it possible that you can't use your Noble Phantasm?" Olga asks
"Apparently. I don't even know which Heroic Spirit fused with me... and I'm unable to use the power of its Special Arts, the Heroic Spirit's secret weapon known as a Noble Phantasm. Sonic Senpai. I'm sorry for explaining this so late. Servants are equipped with a unique skill called a Noble Phantom. It's derived from each hero's legend and great deeds and is a secret weapon. However, I am unable to wield my Noble Phantasm. I can somehow use it as a weapon, but its output is decreased. I can't even release its True Name. In fact, I don't even know what origins of this weapon of mine might be." Mash explaining
"..."
"In any case, you can think of me as a failed Servant. Or maybe just a capable kouhai that can get even stronger. I don't have any leads on the Heroic Spirit that fused with me, but with you as my Master Sonic, I will figure it out as I grow." Mash said
"That sounds cool and all, but please don't call yourself a failed Servant. You're already amazing as who you are back then and now, I've seen you've to fight multiple times already and you're able to kick some serious butt out there. That alone tells me that you're a strong fighter and you will do anything to protect the ones that you care for. I am so proud of you Mash." Sonic cheering up Mash
"*Blushing* T-Thank you Sonic. I-I didn't expect you to say something so generous like that to me." Mash said
"Mash, you're not just a random Servant to me. To me, you're one of my best friends, and I couldn't be happier about that. Ever since I've first met you back in that room, I knew instantly that we would soon become best friends. And I'm glad my prediction became true." Sonic said
Mash makes a smile, picks up Sonic and tightly hugs him with a smile on her face.
"Thank you, Sonic! That was the kindest thing I've ever heard from you, or from anyone else in general. Thank you so much!" Mash hugging Sonic tightly
"Anytime pal. No matter what happens to us from here on out, I'll always stick to your side. No questions asked." Sonic hugging Mash as well
"S-Stepping away from this conversation. Masters have the ability to analyze their Servants parameters, skills and matrixes. Sonic... As a Master, once you become good enough, you should be able to analyze Mash's Servant data. Any Servants you make a contract with from this point should be the same. First, you need to learn their True Name and Noble Phantasm. As your trust with them grows, your Servants' power will grow too. Well, it's not like you have that much potential in you. Once we get Chaldea's Rayshift capability back online, we're going to shift a first-class Master here. Then we're kicking you back inside the room so we can continue to analyze you and finally find an answer on who you really are." Olga said
"Well this conversation took a turn. Just let me show you that I can actually be a useful Master for these Servants. And will see who comes out with the last laugh." Sonic said
"Not accepting the reality knowing that'll you be a complete failure to these Servants? Just what I thought." Olga said
"You..."
"...Anyway, I'm glad you two understand each other better now. Let's move before any more enemies show up." Mash said
*At The Church Ruin*
"Everything's burnt down far as the eye can see... There aren't any traces of residents either. What happened here? What could even turn Chaldea gray in the first place? If we can't see the future, that means humanity will vanish... Could that mean the COunter Force doesn't work in a Singularity? Then this place is like a Bolt... The fatal choice of destruction scattered throughout human history... When your choices become mistakes, this is what happens." Olga said
"Looks like the Director is talking to herself again. This could take a while." Romani said
"I don't mind her at all, in fact, it's actually quite entertaining to look at." Sonic said
"Hey Sonic, you've been through way too much than the rest of us, today. Why don't you rest a bit?" Romani said
"I agree with you, Doctor. Senpai, would you like some rations?" Mash asks
"S-Sure, but how are you doing for yourself, Mash?" Sonic asks
"Tired? Are you asking if I've been having any problems since I became a Servant? Well, for the most part. It's still scary to fight, but I'm doing fine otherwise." Mash responded
"That's good to hear from you," Sonic said
Once Sonic said that he looks away with a sad look on his face, bother by something. Mash notices Sonic in a sad state and was about to say something but Sonic began to speak once again.
"Hey... Mash, can I ask you something?" Sonic said
"Sure, what is it?" Mash replied
"I kept thinking about this ever since we got here, but Olga may be correct on this one. Are you really fine with me being your Master, Mash? Just look at me, I'm just a Blue Hedgehog who has no knowledge of being one's Master. I have no potential of being a good Master to you and all the Servants I'll soon be meeting. Even if I put in the time to be a good Master, one simple mistake I pull and it all goes downhill from there. I'll actually become a failure to all of you..." Sonic said
"Oh Sonic, please don't talk down to yourself like that. I'm perfect with you being my Master, even if your some talking Hedgehog who has no knowledge of being a Master. I still appreciate you being my Master. I enjoy fighting alongside you, knowing full well that you're always there to protect me every second, and that's all it matters. You are one of the best Masters I've ever had!" Mash said
"*Giggling* I'm glad to hear that Mash. Thank you for officially accepting me as your Master and who I am, Mash! I really appreciate that. I swear on my life I will do everything that I can to become a good Master for you and the other Servants!" Sonic said
"That's enough rest! We got enemies incoming!" Romani shouted
Moments later, Skeletons appear as they all began charging towards Mash and Sonic.
"Master, your commands, please!" Mash said
"Keep your head up and do what's best for you! Now come on, let's have some fun!" Sonic said
Moments later, Mash and Sonic begin charging towards the Skeletons as well. The Skeleton wielding a sword attempts to attack Sonic by unleashing a strong slash across Sonic but Sonic jumps over the Skeleton and performs a 3 hit spinning kick move from behind and knock's the Skeleton toward's Mash. Mash notices and slams her shield towards the Skeleton and knocks it towards a broken wire pole where it shattered into pieces before fading away. The second Skeleton who wields a bow attempted to shoot an arrow at Sonic but was faster and performs a somersault kick at the Skeleton and knock's it upwards into the air. Soon after, Sonic jumps in the air and performs an overhead axe kick from a frontward somersault and knocks the Skeleton back to the ground, where it completely shattered into smaller pieces before fading away. As Sonic landed back down to the ground, another skeleton wielding a Sword charges up behind and was about to attack Sonic, until Mash comes charging towards the Skeleton and slams her shield towards it, knocking it away and hitting another Skeleton in the process. Sonic looks behind and notices that Mash saved him from an oncoming attack coming from behind and gives her a thumbs up. Mash smiles as both soon began charging at the Skeletons that Mash pushed away. As the skeletons were trying to get back up, they both turn and notice Mash and Sonic charging towards them. Soon, both Mash and Sonic jump into the air and slam down towards the Skeletons with Mash's shield and Sonic's overhead kick, shattering the skeletons into pieces before fading away.
"Phew! Thank goodness, we managed it yet again Master." Mash tired
"Hold up." Sonic said
Sonic quickly turns around and grab's the skeleton's spear that was about to attack him and swings across it, cutting the Skeleton in half before Fading away.
"Okay, now we managed again," Sonic said
"I see you're getting used to being a Servant. Is it because now that you know what we're up against, you're not afraid anymore?" Olga said
"Knowing that I have a Master that can fight. I'm starting to be less scared of fighting." Mash said
"Sorry, let's talk;k later! The three of you need to get out of there now! I'm still picking up something! And this is..."
Moments later, a shadowy figure appears in front of them.
"We got company!" Sonic said
"Wha... is that..."
"A Servant is there! Don't fight it, Sonic, Mash! It's too soon for you to fight a Servant!" Romani panicking
"Even so, we can't escape! You two, prepare for battle! it's a Servant, you can do something about it, right Mash?" Olga said
"...Yes. I will do my best!"
"Don't think that she's going to do this alone. I will fight alongside her as well. Mash, stay focused, together we can take down this Servant!" Sonic said
"Understood," Mash said
Moments later, the Servant begins charging at both Sonic and Mash. Sonic charges as well as the servant jumps in the air and comes back down to the ground with their weapon over them, ready to stab Sonic with their weapon. Sonic notices and performs a somersault kick and kicks the weapon out of the Servant's hands, disrupting the attack. As the Servant landed back to the ground, they look at Sonic where he quickly throws a powerful punch to them at their face and sends them flying back. After getting punched in the face hard, The Servant stops themselves from going farther and lands back down at the ground where they quickly regain focus and charge at Sonic once again. Sonic watches as the Servant charges at him and was about to attack him with their weapon until Mash jumps in front of Sonic and stops the attack of the Servant from hitting Sonic. After Mash blocks the Servant's attack, she charges at the Servant and knocks them away with her shield, loosing their balance and falling to the ground. Soon after, Sonic jumps over Mash, lands in front of the Servant, grabs them tightly so they won't escape from his grasp. Heaves the Servant overhead and stabs them with his spiky quills. The quills manage to puncture the Servant's stomach and leg before Sonic launches them upwards towards the air. Soon after, Mash jumps towards the Servant and slams her shield on the Servant's stomach, sending them to the ground and crushing them soon after. Lastly, Sonic jumps mid-air, curls himself into a ball and spin attacks straight downwards toward the Servant over and over. Soon after, Sonic performs a overhead axekick at the Servant's head as they layed motionless on the ground. The Servant fades away soon after.
"Another enemy taken care of. Weird, I was told that these Servants are powerful, but we managed to take one down pretty easily. Pretty weird if you ask me." Sonic said
"We won... we actually defeated a Servant. I was sure we didn't stand a chance, but we actually won." Mash said
"Sorry, there's no time to rest Mash. "A similiar signal as before" is heading that way. I don't have to tell you what you need to do, right?" Romani said
"What... Same signal? No way..."
"Sonic! Retreat! Hurry up! We've got to get out of here now!" Olga said
*Back At The Bridge*
"Okay... Oh for God's sake, what is happening? Why are Servants here?" Olga panicking
"I see... A Holy Grail War? A Holy Grail War was going on in that town! Normally, it would be a battle royale amongst the Seven Servants summoned in Fuyuki. But something's gone terribly wrong. I'm not surprised there's a Servant without a Master. It's natural for Servants to target other Servants." Romani said
"Sooo... What you're trying to say is..." Sonic said
"As long as I'm here, we'll be targeted by other Servants?" Mash said
"But Mash as nothing to do with the Grail! That's just a wandering phantom gone mad!" Olga said
"You two, look!" Sonic Pointing at a direction
Mash and Olga and turn and notice and Shadow figure standing and starring at them.
"...I found it. New prey. The Grail shall be mine!" The shadow figure said
"Servants signal confirmed, it's an Assassin-class Servant!" Romani said
"I can fight! Senpai, please give me your orders!" Mash said
"Mash, you stay here. I'll take care of him alone for now." Sonic said
"W-What?! You're going to fight him alone?" Mash said
"I don't want you to fight him alone and let you get hurt. Let me handle this." Sonic said
"Enough talk, let's fight!" The Assassin Servant said
"You want a fight? You got it!" Sonic responded
A couple seconds later, Sonic runs towards the Assassin and throws a strong punch at the face of the Assassin and knocks him back a little.
"Pathetic!"
"You're one big tough guy, I'm not surprise my punch didn't affect you in the slightest." Sonic said before jumping back
The Assassin begins throwing mutilple knives right at Sonic. Sonic notices the oncoming knives and dodges one after the other easily. This made the Assassin Servant more angry and begins throwing even more knives right at Sonic. Sonic continues dodging the knives that were thrown at him until he grabs one of the knives and throws it back at the Assassin, stabbing him in the stomach.
"Y-You manage to use my weapon against me..."
"Hehe, now that you had your fun trying to stop me. It's my turn to have some fun." Sonic said
Moments later, Sonic starts circling around the Assassin Servant super fast. The Assassin attempts to attack Sonic but was too fast for him to lay a finger on him. Seconds later, Sonic begins spin dashing, punching, and kicking the Assassin over and over. For a few seconds, Sonic continues to attack the Assassin Servant around his body until sonic slows down and Roundhouse kicks the Assassin behind his head one last time before jumping away and landing next to Mash.
"This is a waste of time. I could have handled this on my own." The Assassin said
"What do you mean by that?" Sonic asks
"Sonic, they've caught up! There's one more, that's their main force!"
"No way... We're losing to one already, and now there's one more on the way." Olga said
"Ah..."
"Let's finish this, Lancer. I don't even know what kind of Heroic Spirit that nor that Blue rodent is, but I will have their heads." The Servant said
"Ha. Hahahahahahahahahaha!"
"Director, Mash, hang in there! You got to keep moving!" Romani said
"Fou! Fou!"
"Ha. Hahahahahahahahahaha!"
"Dammit, they both let fear get to them... Don't fight them alone, Sonic! Give your orders! You're the only calm one now!" Romani said
"My orders is to stay here and fight! No matter how tough the opponent is. These guys don't scare me a bit." Sonic said
"Understood, there's no other option!" Mash said
"Ha! Futile! Fight, then you die. Run, and you still die. The demise of the futile, oh so miserable."
"Go ahead and struggle. Miserable people are ever so entertaining."
"F-Fight? Are you serious? We don't stand a chance against something like that, right?" Olga said
"...Even so, we must fight. Sonic and I will find a way for us to get out of this alive!" Mash said
"Ha... You've both just killed yourselves-"
The Assassin Servant cuts himself off as he notices Sonic admitting blue electricity from his body.
"What the..."
"What in the world?!"
"S-Sonic? What is happening to you, Why is electricity admitting around your body?" Olga said while looking at Sonic
"S-Sonic?" Mash said
Without saying a word, Sonic starts circling around Assassin, building up a blue massive electrical tornado around Assassin. Inside the tornado, Assassin was repeatedly getting striked by Sonic in every angle. Assassin couldn't block any of Sonic's attacks cause of his speed and eventually, stops and causes the tornado to explode, causing Assassin to get launched away from Sonic and hitting a light post.
"GAH... You are quite irritating creature... I have never fought against one as fast as you..." Assassin said
"Heh, you just never met anyone as fast as me before." Sonic said
"Hey there you two... I see you both are giving these people quite the hard time." A voice said
All of a sudden, both Assassin and Lancer were hit by an energy blast.
"What the?! Who are you?"
"What do you mean? Can't you tell? Don't tell me the mud got in your eyes too?" The Blue Hair person said
"Curse you Caster! Why are you siding with Wanderers?" Lancer said
"Huh? Because it's better than siding with you guys. And hey, what can I say, I like seeing a bunch of brats with potential kicking ass! Specially blue boy over here: he was running circles around you Assassin. Even at one point forming a tornado and you getting stuck inside of it. Having a hard time keeping up? Young lady, be ready for a fight. Don't worry, you're good. You can turn this around if you just pay attention." Caster said
"R-Right, I'll do my best!"
"Hey blue, are you her Master? Then I'm leaving the orders to you. I'm a Caster-class Servant. They don't really like me right now. Not like the enemy of my eemy is my friend, but for now you can trust me. In honor of the brave blue boy there, I'll form. Temporary contract with you and fight as your Servant." Caster said
"Sounds good to me! Why don't we send these two jokers packing?" Sonic said
"Your cockiness will be your downfall blue one. I will deal with you myself!" Lancer said
Moments later, Lancer rushes in to attack Sonic but is blocked and pushed back by Mash.
"I will not allow anything to touch my Master! Sonic, I'll deal with Lancer for you!" Mash said
"Not bad kid, try not to get it over your head. Let me help you out a bit." Caster said
Caster begins to block several of Lancer's strikes and blasts him away with his staff.
"Nice one, Caster! Now it's my turn. ROCK AWAY!"
Sonic emits electricity from his body again and dashes into Assassin in light speed and begins striking him from all angles. Olga watches as Sonic strikes down Assassin in all angles super fast and soon kicking him straight into the ground.
"D-Damn... you... The Grail... I was so close..." Assassin said before fading away
"You messed with the wrong Hedgehog!" Sonic said
"H-Holy... I couldn't even see how fast he was going. That's the first time I actually get to see him battle like that. Just what is this Hedgehog?!" Olga shock
With Mash, Mash winds up her final attack and makes one giant swing at Lancer, knocking him back into several trees.
"So... This... is how I fall... A real pity... If only I could have lasted a little... longer... The Grail would have been mine... Curse you girl..." Lancer said before fading away
"That was TIGHT! By far one of the best fights I've ever had up to this point. Those guys couldn't handle us at all. Nice moves out there Mash." Sonic said
"Thank you so much Master! As well as you Caster, you were a big help to us!" Mash thanking Caster
"Hey, good work. You don't owe me for this, so don't worry about it. You shoukd be more worried about your body. That damn Assassin kept targeting your butt like a pest!" Caster said
"Oh!"
"Hey, you look fragile but you have a pretty nice body! Icing on the cake! I have no idea what class you are, but you're pretty sturdy... Maybe Saber? No, you don't have a sword." Caster said
"...Hey Sonic, what did you think of that?" Olga asks Sonic
"Caster, please don't make me regret doing something similar to what I did against those two other Servants if you continue to talk to Mash like that." Sonic said
"Okay okay, I apologize for talking like that to her." Caster responded
"Moving on from that conversation, let's get some information. He seems to be a decent Heroic Spirit." Romani said
"Oh, so someone who wants to cut to the chase. What is this? Some means of communication through magecraft?" Caster said
"Well met, Caster Servant. I don't know which Heroic Spirit you are, but we have nothing but respect and awe for you." Romani said
"Oh, spare me your remarks. I'm sick of hearing them. State your business, weakling. Isn't that what you're good at?" Caster responded
"Uh... I-I see. All right then... Weakling... I got called a weakling from someone I've met for the first time." Romani said
