Logan and Rick swung the gates open for them. It felt like a breath of fresh air being behind the gates as they slapped close. Carol wasn't sure when the comfort set in but maybe it was the cold night in the ceiling. Maybe it was when she slept inside a house for a few nights.

"DAD!" Logan's voice rang like a shot and she felt Daryl jerk.

She hadn't realized she was still holding him so tightly till that jerk. It was hard to let go after being so scared and rigid.

Logan slammed into Daryl as the kick stand met the ground. A crowd was watching on and Carol got tangled into the hug. Daryl's own arms wrapped around his son and he was talking low. Carol felt like she was ease dropping on a very private moment.

When Logan's arm wrapped around her too before she could crawl her way out of it; she was slightly confused. Daryl finally pulled away which did the same for her and she rallied then. Rick was there slapping Daryl on the back anyways.

"Was worried Dixon."

Daryl snorted and stood after Carol stepped off the bike. He walked it into a spot and stood completely.

"Grimes I'm surprised at you." Daryl mocked.

Merle swaggered up and threw an arm over his brothers shoulders. His eyes mean. "He just had him a vacation with our very own Georgia here."

Carol's face reddened. "Excuse you!"

"No excuse you." Merle chimed back. "You kept my brother out late just to get him alone."

"I did no such thing." Carol huffed, her foot slapping the pavement. "Dead people were everywhere."

"Merle." Daryl snapped.

"Darylina." He snapped back.

Logan was grinning like crazy. He eyed her for a minute and she realized he was still mad at her. She smiled back and his shoulders relaxed. He walked over to her and raised a brow.

"Dad looks tired, keep him up all night?" Logan grinned wildly.

"LOGAN!" Carol's face went bright red. The crowd around them sucked in a breath.

"Actually she did." Daryl nodded sagely. Every woman around them besides Maggie glared in her direction. She didn't miss it. "She snores."

Carol was appalled and slapped Daryl in the arm and glared at him. He snorted and his own face reddened. It seemed very out of character for him to have said something like this. And from the look on everyone around them face she knew it. Maybe he was trying to be friendly and joke.

"I didn't hear you complaining last night." Carol retorted.

Daryl's face blazed red and he grinned while ducking his head down. His dusky hair falling into his face but not enough for her to miss the way his eyes tracked over her. Was she seeing something that wasn't there.

"Well I'm glad you're both safe." Maggie interrupted. "You all had quite the haul yesterday."

Carol walked closer to Maggie to avoid the Dixon's. In the end she talked to her for a few minutes before she mad it home to clean up and help them sort out what was found. They hadn't even made it to the stuff her and Daryl had gotten from Belks. Carol herself was excited to get her hands on some of the stuff she'd shoved in there. Even though she did shove some stuff in a bad Daryl was packing on his back. SHe was curious if he'd found the bag of panties and bras yet and if his brother or Logan was giving him crap about it.

She wasn't blind to the fact that as they began picking through the bags that she was getting side eyed. Even from Maggie. It was almost enough to make her sick to her stomach. Nothing happened but everyone seemed to think something was going on with her and Daryl. She'd barely spoke to the man.

"So." Maggie smiled. "You and Daryl."

"Nothing happened beyond getting trapped for a night." Carol sighed.

"That's not what i'm talking about." Maggie raised a fine brow. "You were clutching to that man like your life depended on it and his own son hugged you."

"Is that weird? And my life did depend on it! He drives insane." Carol laughed.

Maggie moved closer and Cathy shot them a dirty look. Maggie glared at her till she looked away.

"It is. He doesn't do the the touchy thing with anyone really, him or his son. Merle is just Merle."

Carol stared at the bra in her hand and Maggie grinned. "See something you like...maybe something Daryl would?"

"Maggie!" Carol hissed.

Her eyes flashing to the thought of Daryl seeing her in her granny panties and dank bra she had on at the moment. She continued to sort through stuff and elbowed Maggie.

"I'm just saying it wouldn't be the worst thing if the two of you were to get closer. He is beautiful." Maggie purred.

"He is." Carol agreed. "It's just I don't know that I'll be here long enough to set roots like that."

Maggie paused and looked at her. "What do you mean?"

"I'm trying to get to Kentucky. I'm hoping a member of my family is alive."

Maggie kept sorting and nodded. "I understand you know. I went for my dad and little sister at our family farm."

Carol breathed out harshly. "Would I be welcome back."

"Of course." Maggie said without pause. "You know..." Maggie looked up briefly and then stopped altogether. "The Dixon's know Kentucky better than anyone. They routinely go there and pick resources."

Carol stood there holding a pair of jeans and stared harshly at them. She ran through every scenario and what she kept coming to was that if this was true and the Dixon's were routinely going there then they'd know their way around. But would they go for it? Winter was coming the dead were scarce in a way and moved slower but she didn't know the conditions of Kentucky. Was this something she could really ask of them
