Chapter 5

Author's note:

In this chapter, we will continue the Site-13 Arc, which will lead to the protag meeting the Zeta-9 commander. After this chapter, the story will go to meeting some villagers, probably when the group are on their way back to site through helicopter.

By the way, voting is closed. Here are the results:

1 year before the main events start: 4 voters(40 percent)

Right before the main events start: 4 voters(40 percent)

During the Battle for Feoh: 1 voter(10 percent)

After the Sex Empire has formed: 1 voter(10 percent)

So it's a tie for the first two. Personally, I would choose the option right before the main events start. Don't worry lol, there will be worldbuilding.

Also I will try to reduce the number of filler chapters, and with important events both Kuroinu and SCP.

As usual, read, like, follow and review my new chapter!

As I approached the wreckage and rubble that was the once-proud Site-13, I started to feel nervous, and my hands shook uncontrollably. Although I was the Security Commander and had received extensive training on rescue missions and extraction, I was still afraid that I would screw up something, or worse, doom everyone-or every SCP-in the hellhole that was Site-13. SCP-049 seemed to notice this, and he touched my shoulder(which almost made me jump up from the pilot seat), and said, " Take deep breaths, my patient. A calm and clear mind is needed to execute good plans, for a leader."

"Well, thanks for the memo. Although you could do without touching me." SCP-049 just rolled his eyes at that.

"Human, insertion into Site will commence at T-minus 60 seconds. Perform final checks on your equipment, and ensure nothing is amiss or working wrong."

"Come ON, Site Command-I mean 079. I already checked for like, half a million times! I'm sure it's fully functional!"

"Better safe than sorry, egghead!" Was the reply. Then 079 went silent.

"Alright boys, we are entering Site-13 to rescue Z-9 Hollis. Ya ready?"

"Yes." The SCPs replied one by one(except for SCP-173 the Peanut, which just stood there menacingly, and SCP-096, who just kept on crying).

"Then let's go!"

As our little group of five entered the facility, we were overwhelmed by a pungent smell from the water flooding halfway through the hallway. Trudging on, we eventually saw a makeshift barricade made of chairs and desks, moved from the offices. SCP-079 had mentioned that this was one of the "checkpoints" in the Site which were one of the most reality-speaking, stable areas, so we could use it as a waypoint to exit the facility. Gently removing part of the barricade so that we could pass through, we walked deeper into the facility single file. It was the same for about a full minute-long, dark hallways, with flickering lights overhead, indicating the state of misrepair in the Site.

SCP-049 suddenly stopped walking, and pointed to one of the walls. I looked at it, and saw that there were dozens of unidentified symbols on them-wait, were they glowing slightly? What did they mean? I had to get to the bottom of this… what did they mean?

Suddenly, images flooded my head, and I went unconscious.

Images in my head:

"RUN EVERYONE! THE SCP HAS BROKEN OUT OF CONTAINMENT!" Some researcher yelled. Panicking, I also ran, away from the raging black thing that was pursuing us. As I turned a corner, the thing smashed into a wall, roaring in pain and outage that we had escaped it. Shaking it's huge maul, hundreds of black leeches with red glowing eyes appeared out of nowhere, and started to pursue our little group. Suddenly, one of the scientists tripped- and the leeches were all over him in an instant. It wasn't a pretty sight. Within seconds, all of his flesh was picked from the bone, with dozens of leeches feasting on his brain through his hollow eye sockets. I resisted the temptation to puke, the sight was so grotesque. But I could not stop running, or I would end up like the scientist.

One of the guards yelled," Everyone on the security battalion, ready your flamethrowers and piercing ammo! Threat entity #5152 has breached containment! Repeat, Threat entity #5152 has breached containment! Get it back into the incinerator NOW!" The creature just roared in anger, and bit off his head in one bite.

All over the site, there was chaos. Hundreds of SCPs had heeded the rallying call of the black beast, and had broken out of their containment cells. In the Olympic-class God Containment areas, a holy angel with a sword made of fire melted the entire containment area which was made of durasteel, and a green deer began to summon hexagonal bursts of green light from the ceiling, turning researchers into pillars of green things if they were unfortunate enough to be caught in the light. Up there in the reality-bending containment area, an invisible thing that was barely able to be seen through its silhouette, kept on pulling people towards it. The people captured tried to scream, to struggle, some even fired on the anomaly, but it was no use. Flashes of red light, then they were fused to the walls, as some twisted form of decoration. Another entity with one single eye, watching all of this, began to write symbols on the walls, to document all of this… While this would be fascinating to watch if it was in a controlled environment, this was not, unfortunately. This was every anomaly breaching at the same time. I could only run, run, and hope everything was alright.

Then there was a bright flash of light, and I felt as if I had been smited by God himself. There was an eerie voice resounding next to me," Remember us… Remember us… We will have revenge… on you humans…For your crimes… against us…" Then I knew no more.

When I woke up, SCP-049 was shaking my shoulder, muttering, "You must get up! This is one of the most dangerous places you have ever went to, perhaps on par with Site-19 infested with the flesh-beasts!" I jolted up, and said," Yeah, I'm fine. Got a weird vision just now, probably some anomaly detailing what it had saw in the site. What did it mean in the last sentence, having revenge though? Does it mean it wants to kill everyone in the Site before, or humanity as a whole? I'll think about this later. For now, mission first." And we walked on.

"Human. You are approaching Research Area 1, Weaponized Anomaly Division. Enter the armory and try to find anomalous weaponry here. Over" SCP-079's voice rang out in my helmet. Quickly, our group entered the area and began to search for something remotely similar to the armory. It wasn't hard to find, with the words"ARMORY LEVEL 3, ANOMALOUS "KILLER" DIVISION ONLY" plastered on it. Blowing up the door with help of 096 and entering it, I saw dozens of guns on the walls, some on the ground, knocked over-probably the guards rushing into the area to get the weapons out, trying in vain to recontain the anomalies. Welp, whatever. I found something that was straight out of my wet dream–A Crystal Blaster, utilizing the replicating effects of the anomalous crystal SCP-409 as ammunition and firing devastating blasts of crystals, which could turn anything(including organic flesh) into masses of crystals and explode within seconds, painfully. SCP-049 grabbed something similar to a cattle prod, which was presumably his favorite type of weapon from herding zombies. Grabbing a few more weird-looking weapons and stuffing it in my endless bag, our group of three went out of the area, SCP-173 watching my back.

As we continued to walk towards the heart of the facility where the titans were battling each other, the air became more and more stuffy and hot, presumably from the heavily damaged reactor core and the battling anomalies. Finding more and more barricades in the area, our small group quickly opened up a path, marking the walls so we could find our return pathway easily. That was when I saw the creature with tentacles and one eye in my vision, and it looked directly at me. It beckoned me to come closer, and SCP-049 raised his cattle prod threateningly, but I walked forward. What did it mean by those words? I pondered. I could tell that it was trying in vain to tell me something, but failed. That was when another vision hit me.

I was originally someone who could somehow decipher anything, even things that were considered indecipherable. I was called a genius codebreaker by all my fellow friends and schoolmates, and the teachers told my parents proudly that I would do well in the intelligence department of the government. They had such high hopes for me.

Then the SCP Foundation came. Apparently, I had deciphered some memetic anomaly or something, I am not sure what they call it, and this piqued their interest in me. They declared me an anomaly, and secretly drugged all my parents, friends and anyone who was in contact with me or even saw me before, causing them to forget everything about me. Then I was taken to a facility, which they called Site-13.

At first, it all went pretty well. Apparently, the Foundation was a group that was dedicated to containing and researching the paranormal, to protect the public from eldritch horrors which lurk the multiverse. They were even supported by the government. They told me that my unique skills could contribute to this Foundation, and gave me an irresistible offer- help the Foundation decipher codes and memetic hazards, so that they could understand whatever texts they had found, and use it to better safeguard humanity. I believed them.

I also observed that they held a pro-anomaly attitude generally in Site-13, welcoming anomalies and doing non-invasive research into them with the consent of the anomalies. Apparently, the Site Director of the area was Doctor Jack Bright, an anomaly himself. He had a locket that allowed him to stay immortal. Everyone loved him, for his tea parties, for his "insane" experiments which would not lead to anyone injured, but would leave everyone with permanent paint on their fingers or something. He often pulled pranks on us with anomalies. His research into us generally led to suggestions on how to improve our skills in reality bending, memetic code deciphering, etc.

However, good things never stay. After a few years, he was locked up due to killing another popular doctor-however most of us didn't believe so, he was always so peace-loving. Some of us thought it was the Secretary-General of the UN Anomaly Council disliking his pro-anomaly attitude(Which we had known for quite some time, Doctor Bright probably knew it too but chose not to change it, which we are grateful for), and staging a coup to lock him up. Emerson took his place. Things quickly descended from good to bad from there.

He ordered construction of more and more containment wings, and even an incinerator-it seemed logical, after all, Site-13 was the Foundation's primary containment site. Then the invasive experiments began. At first it was only performed on animals, the dragon-snails and other things, which everyone was fine with. Then it was humans. Vivisections on them, sometimes live and without any pain-reducing drugs, began. The Ethics Committee tried to step in, but they were ignored, and dealt with. The old chairman, Jeremiah Cimmerian, was dragged to the common grounds of Site-17 and shot publicly for being a "Traitor to the Foundation". Peter Grenwald became the new Head of Ethics Committee, and every experiment was approved for the "good of humanity as a whole". While I appreciate this sentiment, did they have to perform such inhumane experiments and surgeries on us anomalies, as if we weren't human?

Then the Ethics Committee had passed some rule, stating that anomalies were not human, whether they looked human or not. This opened the gate for even worse experiments. I don't know what they did to other anomalies in detail, but they would often stick something in my brain and try to trigger something in it. They did surgeries on my body and brain, without any pain-reducing drugs. Oh, the pain, the pain, it was so much. It was as if my brain was submerged in molten lava, and that could be considered an understatement. Worse, there was no rest for us anomalies. When one experiment ended, we were used for another immediately. There was no time for us to even fucking rest. If we resisted the experiments that required our cooperation, then… They would start to prod all over our body with things, causing unimaginable pain. Then they would force us to cooperate. If we still resisted, we were thrown into the incinerator, alive. If we had no more use, we would be thrown into the incinerator, alive. Such was our life in this hellhole. After repeated experiments, my appearance slowly turned from fully human to something unrecognizable as once a human. Cross tests had forced me to change my body, so tentacles grew out of my body. My limbs were hacked off soon, for use in some other freak experiment testing my body parts. My head was reduced to something thin and black, with one diamond-shaped eye inside. It contained all my knowledge. The top of my head was so severely damaged by experiments that I evolved to grow a dome shaped structure on my head.

Then there was Dr. Vera Hadley. She was once the girlfriend of Doctor Emerson, but resisted everything Doctor Emerson did to the anomalies. We respected her greatly for that. She was quickly demoted to Junior Researcher after only three months. One night, after staging a demonstration, guards stripped her naked in the main hall and checked her for contraband, then beat her nearly to death and left her lying there. Several doctors brought her to the medical department to try and fix her, but something seemed to be broken in her, as I saw from my observation window. I don't know what happened.

There was also Mohammed'arr, the leech boy. He had a powerful ability to control leeches, and the Foundation was interested in this. He only had the mind of a three-year old, and loved to play, but the cruel, countless experiments seemed to turn him. Into a monster. Then he seemed to have been reaped of all the knowledge the Foundation could use for, and thrown into the incinerator.

Somehow, the toxic sludge from all the anomalies before had merged with him, turning him into a giant beast, with the leeches all following him. He broke out of containment, and began to kill everyone, except for Hadley. I suspect she had rigged something in the incinerator that would allow it to escape. As we heard sirens wail signaling a containment breach, guards were ordered to incinerate us alive, to ensure we were dead. We also broke out of containment, and killed everyone who had ever performed or allowed experiments on us. The body count in the site reached thousands within 15 minutes of breaching. Survivors began to barricade themselves. Then there was a bright flash of light, from some experimental technology made of anomalies. Then everything in the site went into a state of disrepair, everything being heavily damaged.

My humanity is gone-stripped from the horrible experiments dealt to me. I already do not remember how it was to be a human. I will forever prowl Site-13, killing those who wronged me, with my arsenal of memetic weaponry. I am not a human. Empathy does not exist in me.

I only exist to prowl the remains of Site-13, until my dying day…

As I jolted awake again, the strange thing had left, for some reason. Tears had welled up in my eyes, from the first-handed experience of the anomaly mistreated that I saw. SCP-049 said, "Come, let us approach the reactor now. Your body seems to be a bad condition, and we should finish the mission as soon as possible."

Slowly walking towards the reactor, gripping my Micro H.I.D. tightly, I opened the gate leading towards there quietly. Inside, the three titans were raging. The leech monster was roaring loudly, hurling leeches everywhere. The angel swung his sword, melting and cutting the leeches in half. The deer kept on firing green lasers from the ceiling. As I scanned the room, SCP-079 said," Detected Zeta-9 commander, she is trapped inside the control center."

Rushing to the control room, dodging the cat-sized leeches that screeched after me and pursued me with SCP-173 snapping them in half and 049 using the cattle prod to snap them in line. As I threw open the reinforced steel door, she looked at me and said, " Are you the extraction squad? Where are the others? Where are my squadmates? And most importantly, why are you working with SCP-049 and even SCP-173?", pointing a service pistol at me. I raised my hands and replied, " No time to explain, we need to get out of this Site NOW." Grabbing her by the arm, I helped her up and asked," Can you walk? "

"No, my leg got bitten by a leech"

"049, help me carry her out of here!"

"I'm not your personal butler!"

"COME ON!"

"Fine! Anyways, she doesn't have the Pestilence…"

Holding my Micro H.I.D., I charged up the laser and fired at the leech once, who was focused on me. The leeches screeched and stopped pursuing me for a moment, and I used this moment to pull out my cryo-thrower, freezing them like cubicles.

"RUN!" I yelled, as our group rapidly entered the Research Area and then the tunnels, with a few leeches I missed still following me. Pulling out my Particle Disruptor and shooting at a few of the leeches, which were instantly vaporized, we entered… wait, this isn't the entrance tunnel!

"079, why haven't we seen the entrance tunnel yet? Did you map anything wrong?"

"Local reality shifts have teleported the tunnel to another area, recalibrating the best route… Human, you are suggested to exit the area via passing through Service Tunnel 66C."

"Oh crap, something went wrong with the mission again." I groaned.
