"WHAT DID YOU TELL HER?!" Alice screamed at him, the moment they were within the safe walls of their house. Her visions about Bella was already confusing to her, sometimes perfectly clear, sometimes blurry. The old vision of her with red eyes reappeared some days but she never looked as happy as she appeared before. Her arms were not around Edward and she certainly was not laughing with Alice. She was furious, she loved the old vision. She held onto it when her family was skeptical about the human girl, she held onto it when her brothers were chasing a hunter, she held onto it when the other visions hit her. When she saw her best friend writhing in pain in the cold forest floor. When she saw the sparkle in her brown eyes turned into the cold wall. When she saw her sending e-mails that would never be delivered. Now it was gone.

Edward flinched. He didn't have the heart to tell his family about what went on that day in the forest. He tried, especially when he read the disappointment on Emmett and Esme's thoughts about how fast Bella accepted to be apart from them. But he wanted to be selfish. He already sacrificed the happiness he had found with Bella; he didn't want to sacrifice the good opinion of his family. So he just stayed silent.

He thought that she believed him now. In her room, when he was begging and apologizing, he thought that she believed him. Now, there was a very unsettling feeling in his stomach. If he was human, he would've thrown up. Bella believed him in the forest. She wholeheartedly believed that he was tired of pretending, that he didn't want her. He didn't know what else to do, what could convince Bella of his love? He only had his words, which apparently held little credibility in them.

"EDWARD CULLEN!" Alice's voice got so that he could feel the vibrations in the air. He didn't have to tell her though, the moment he decided to come clean, the vision hit her. He watched himself repeating that awful words for the second time in her mind.

Alice got quiet. She blinked, a human reflex. Like she could've erased that vision. She couldn't. Her heart broke for Bella. Her chest hurt. Jasper was at her side within seconds. Gently stroking her back, trying to take some of her pain away.

"Don't, Jasper." She whispered. She didn't want to take the easy way because she deserved it. She deserved much more because she trusted her brother. What a big mistake!

She felt sick when she remembered how Emmett pulled her aside and told her to refuse to move. "We all know he's making a huge mistake Alice" he said. "I'm not leaving Bella. Let's stay. Rosalie will be pissed but she'll stay with me if I refuse to go. And Jasper will stay with you. Let's stay."

But she stupidly refused. She said Edward needed to see that he couldn't live without her and leaving her wouldn't help anything. She said that Bella would wait. She would be hurt, she would be mad but she would wait for them to come back.

She trusted Edward. And her heart broke, to see how wrong she was in trusting Bella's heart and their whole future as a family with her favorite brother. A fatal mistake.
