AN: I was listening Indila-Love Story while I wrote this chapter, I highly recommend you to listen to it,too while you are reading!

The news of Angela Weber's pregnancy and the upcoming shotgun wedding shook the school one month until graduation. Everybody was shocked, since the daughter of the well-loved pastor was the last one to be a teenage mom. Some made fun of the irony, some were directly mean, some just cut the contact with her.

None of them were in Isabella Swan's mind, as she took out the big box from the deep of her closet with shaking hands. She didn't touch the box since her birthday, it felt morbid. She knew that she would never get to wear it now, the irony was not lost on her. Before she came to Forks, she would've recoiled in disgust even to the possibility of wearing a wedding dress. Now, her body ached, her heart heavy and the hole in her chest was throbbing. She wanted to wear it.

She gently opened the lid; her fingers gently traced the beadings in the hems and silky fabric. One part of her wanted to try it on, one last time. The other part wanted to leave the dress unsoiled. Her only memory of putting it on was the day she bought it.

(Then)

She remembered vividly, how she was just walking around in Port Angeles in a rarely sunny day. Edward and Alice couldn't get out because of the sun and Charlie had a lot of people over, from the station to play cards. She saw the dress in the windows of one of antique shops. It was a white close to beige, sleeves coming to rest in the front. The skirt was with layers, making it look fluffy, in a good way, it made her want to touch them. She was trying to remind herself that she never wanted to get married when the owner of the shop, an old lady with a kind smile knocked to the window from inside the shop. She was startled by the noise, but woman just smiled and invited her in.

Her name was Elizabeth, she was 82 years old. The dress was her own, hers was a love marriage, she said. Unlike many couples of their time, her husband and she loved each other very much. She was heartbroken when he died five years ago, she had been alone since then. She offered tea to Bella and said, "Tell me about your boy."

She didn't know what to say but somehow the words flow through her mouth. She talked about his kindness, how gentle he is with her, she said that he believed he was a bad person, but she knew he was not. Elizabeth listened carefully and smiled the whole time. Then she proceeded to convince Bella to try the dress on.

She refused. "I don't think I'll ever get married."

"You had stars in your eyes, my darling. Maybe the dress chose you."

It was a cheesy line, but it worked. Maybe because she wanted to be convinced.

Dress fit her like a glove, not even one alteration was needed. The feeling of the silky material against her skin was alien, but also comforting, like an embrace. She twirled; the lowest layer of the skirt got off the floor a few inches. She ran her hands on the top part, lace felt nice to touch. She gathered her hair in a bun, trying to imagine it. She can easily see herself in this dress, walking to Edward someday. The thought of him in a tuxedo, waiting for her in their meadow made blood rush to her cheeks. Elizabeth's laugh interrupted her wonderings.

"You didn't hear a word I just said, did you?" She blushed and rambled.

"I-I'm so sorry, I was-I was just-" Elizabeth waved her hand, a big smile on her wrinkled face.

She made a huge discount for Bella, when she learned that the poor girl only had a few hundred dollars in her account from working part time in Newton's. She brushed off her excuses about not getting married soon, told her that in her age the only thing she wanted was to know that her dress would be used in a love marriage and bring happiness. She brushed off her offer to create partial payments, she had enough money, she said. Besides the dress was sitting on the window for more than 5 years, nobody wanted it.

When she left the shop, came home, and stashed the box deep into her closet, there was an exciting current rushing through her body; it made her feel so alive and happy! She beat down the voice in her head, telling her she was just like the other stupid high school girls who were dreaming about a prince to save them and white dresses and marriage. She told herself that it wasn't like that. She just knew that Edward believed in marriage, and she was just preparing for some time further down the road. First, she would convince him to make love to her, and then change her. After the change, they would've forever. And forever was a long time, surely, Edward would convince her to get married some day. Yes, he would. Even though she had no desire to, she would do it for him. Of course, just to make him happy. Yes.

(Now)

She liked the girl she saw in the mirror that day. She'd like to remember the dress and the girl who bought it exactly like that day. Blushing, full cheeks; shining eyes, a normal body to fit into the dress. She was sure that it'll look horrible with the body she had now. It would be hanging off her, ashen color of her skin, dark circles under her eyes, her hollow cheeks… She wasn't made for the dress now. It was better to leave it unsoiled and give it directly to Angela.

She felt so stupid, so naïve… Edward straight up told her that marriage or having sex was not possible for them. He also told her over and over again that he would not change her. She was so stupid to think that he-they would want to keep her forever. In times like this, she wished that Edward was a modern teenage boy, who could be swayed by the promise of sexual favors. She had seen many unsuitable couples staying together for the sex, maybe he would've stayed longer then.

She shook her head. Even if he was a modern teenage boy, he probably wouldn't want her anyway. He would want some busty blonde with longer legs, blue eyes.

She contemplated what to tell Angela while she was driving. She had waited all week for an opportunity to go and give her the dress without Cullens watching over her, they left for a big hunting trip that morning. It was difficult to put on a brave face and convince Edward to go but she knew that she'd die before letting them know about the dress.

She couldn't even imagine the jokes Emmett could come up with. Maybe they would surf the internet for some memes of puppies wearing wedding dresses. The thought came and went so fast through her mind, there was a small voice inside, telling her that they were good people, they wouldn't do something like that. But the mean voice-as always-was louder. It told her that she already accepted being their pet for the second time and beggars couldn't be choosers. That brought an anxiety wave with her chest heaving heavily.

When she came back to her senses, Edward was holding her hands. They were in her room, she was sitting on her bed, he was seated on the floor next to her feet. One of his hands holding hers tightly, the other was wiping the tears streaking down her face. She wiped them with the back of her palm. Tried to smile. Edward was used to her disassociating episodes by now, she tried not to feel bad about it.

"Welcome back." She whispered. "How was the hunt? Found any mountain lions?"

"Just a few." His reply was also quiet. He stood up, picking her up and settling down in the rocking chair. She curled up in his lap, hugging him tight, ignoring the voice in her head, screaming that she was hurting him. Her smell felt like knives in his throat, she knew. But just this once, she drowned that voice, her arms tightening around him.

She took deep breaths of his smell. In response, he just held her tighter and whispered that he loved her.

Oh how much she needed to hear that lie!

AN2: Okay, It's official: I'm incapable of writing actual drabbles. But I couldn't divide this chapter, it felt like I'd be interrupting the emotion flow if I did so I just left it as it is. This chapter has a special place in my heart because the first moment I thought about the plot, this and the next chapter came to my mind and it was solid. Sometimes it feels like I wrote the story around these two :D I hope it'll be as emotional for you as it was for me.

Secondly, I had this spesific wedding dress in mind. Links are not allowed here so replace the "dot" with "."
