While You Slept

Lady Countryrose

Ch. 2

Alastor Moody was a fearful man, especially when he was working next to Charlus Potter. He had ordered Alastor, from his hospital bed, to get a few people into the hospital room. He had managed to get back with Kingsley and someone from head muggle law enforcement.

When the four entered the room. Alastor had brought a few copies of paperwork. Stating that Charlus Potter, Lord of House of Potter. Ordered the family right to claim Harry to be put under their family protection. Along with a few statements from witnesses that knew of Harry and how he was treated.

With the papers signed. The muggle law enforcement, with the help of Alastor and Dorea. Had gone to the Dursleys home. Once there, the muggle knocked on the door.

"Hello," the walrus man answered the door.

The law man handed him the papers. "We are here for Mr. Harry Potter."

The man blinked at them, as he read the paper. "BOY!" Causing Dorea to grasp, as Harry jumped out from the room, under the stairs. He pointed towards the door. "Go," he growled out.

"Mum," asked the boy in the kitchen, behind his mother. "Is Harry leaving?"

The mother waved for her son to quiet. Before going to the door and taking the paper from her husband. "I don't understand, we're the boy's family?"

Dorea shook her head. "No, dear, I am his grandmother. His grandfather is waiting for him."

The woman glanced down and glared at the bottom of the sheet. "Lord Potter," she gasped out. "My sister…she had to marry higher than I had."

"Petunia," gasped her husband.

She turned to him and hiss. "Not now, Vernon." Then she turned towards Dorea. "How was she?"

Dorea gave a small smile. "A bright light in the dark of smiles. Loving her family, till the end."

Petunia sighed and turned to Harry. "It's alright, Harry. Go with your grandmother."

Harry was about to walk forward. But Dorea asked, "What about your stuff?"

Harry went to the room under the stairs. Before he came out with a small bag in hand. She gave a sad smile, but led him out of the muggle house.

"Wait," Petunia called out softly. "Could I see Harry, sometime?"

Harry looked up at his grandmother with a pleading look. "Please, grandma."

"No," a growl sounded from the large man. "Pet, I had said no magic and I meant it! My son will not be tainted by magic."

Petunia didn't look at him. But smiled towards Harry. "Have a good life, Harry."

"Mum," they heard the small boy from the kitchen. "Dads getting angry again."

Just before, Vernon turned and charged towards Petunia. Alastor Moody raised his staff and hit the floor with it. Causing Vernon to freeze in place and fall down.

Dorea gasped, pulling Harry behind her. She glanced towards the boy's aunt with worry. "Does he?"

Petunia sighed, "Just words, never violence. Not even a sign of it. At least, not until now."

Dorea sighed and turned to Alastor. "Help with packing their things. They are moving to Potter Manor with us."

Alastor gaped at her for a moment. But followed Petunia around the house. Surprising her son that she was only taking clothes and some of his toys.

"Mum, I wanted my…"

Petunia turned to glare at her son. "Dudley, I love you, but I will not have you spoiled. Not like how your father wanted you to be. So, for the sake of argument, no more whining. You want something, you will ask or work for it."

The boy nodded his head. Following his mother out the door. Once out the door. Everyone had grabbed the portkey of a rope. Taking them to Potter Manor. Leaving the muggle law officer to deal with Vernon.

Once the five had landed at the outer gates of the manor. Dorea faced Harry with a smile. "Welcome to Potter Manor, Harry. This is your ancestral home."

"Blimey, Harry," his cousin gasped.

Petunia looked at the home with a hint of fear. But Dorea ushered everyone towards the house, and into the front doors. Where they were met with a house elf that scared three people at once.

Dorea smiled softly, "This is Dolly, a house elf. She will be showing you to your rooms. Dolly, please set Harry near James's room."

"Yes, mistress," bowed Dolly, and led the three new people into the house.

Dorea turned to Alastor. "We should head to the hospital."

Alastor grumbled, "More stuff for me to do." He then turned to Kingsley. "Go to the ministry and start on the proper paperwork of what has happened today. Along with a memory to add to the file."

"Yes, sir." He then turned on the spot and left for the ministry.

Alastor and Dorea walked towards the fireplace, only to be swept away again. Once at the hospital. They rushed towards the room that they needed to be in. Only to see an angry looking Charlus with the healer.

"What's going on," she asked them.

"Your husband refuses to rest."

Charlus glared at the healer. "I have rested enough. I just want to go home."

Dorea looked at the two of them. Before she looked towards James. "When will he wake up?"

The healer sighed, "That is the thing, he should be waking up soon. But it could also be another few months."

Dorea sighed but turned to Charlus. "We have Harry at the house. Same with his aunt and cousin."

"What," Charlus asked calmly.

Alastor glared for a moment. "The husband looked like he was going to hit his wife. So, Lady Potter offered for them to stay at your home."

Charlus closed his eyes and nodded his head. "It's fine. Harry may feel more comfortable with people he already knows." He then looked up towards the healer. "Can I please go home. I will take things slow."

The healer grumbled but agreed. Leaving to go get the discharge papers.

Charlus glared over at Alastor. "I want you to get my solicitor and bring them to the house. Even my account manager from… I want to start changing things, before Harry goes to Hogwarts."

Dorea smiled kindly. "I think there is someone else, you should get a hold of, Remus. We need him to be a part of us again. He has been miserable."

Charlus nodded his head. "Another reason why I am changing things. It's time for a change. I spent nearly seven years asleep to think things over." He turned to Alastor. "Why are you still here?"

The man grumbled, but turned on his heel and left. Dorea was happy. She had gotten her husband back. With a new fire in his eyes. It looks like the Wizarding World is going to have to pay up, if they don't want to be burned.
