While You Slept
Lady Countryrose
Ch. 4
Dorea Potter had managed to get Harry Potter back into the house. Where she had asked for a house elf to get him cleaned up before dinner. While directing another elf to help with Petunia and Dudley to their shared room. She then made her way towards Charlus, who looking at piles of papers in his study.
She had no idea how much she had missed the sight of him, just sitting behind his desk. Glaring at the endless paperwork. She had a mind smile on her lips. When he looked up from the nightmare of trying to understand things. After a seven-year nap.
"My love," he called to her softly. "How in the world have you managed all of this on your own?"
"We have a great account manager at Gringotts," she smiled wholeheartedly. Dorea then walked into the study. "I have something I would like to discuss with you, dear. I have shown the gardener's cottage to Petunia, and she had fallen in love with it. Would it be too much if we could give it to her?"
Charlus chuckled softly, a warm smiled graced his lips. "That, my dear, would be fine. I can't imagine her wanting to be around magical things." He had gotten up from his chair and slowly made his way closer to her. "Do as you see fit, I don't see why she shouldn't have it. It has collected quite a bit of dust, I'm afraid."
"Thank you, dear." She then led him down the hall to the dining room. Where she helped him into his seat. She called for the elves for him to have his potions, just as dinner was being served.
Harry and his other family members came to the dining room. Shortly after Charlus potions had vanished. Neither of them wanted to alarm him for Charlus' poor health. Since he had just had awakened up.
"Harry, Petunia and Dudley, I would like you to meet Charlus Potter. Harry's grandfather," Dorea had smiled at the group that had just sat at the table.
Harry looked at his grandfather with a hint of worry. "If you don't mind me asking, sir. But where were you?"
Dorea wanted to lecture Harry for his rude remarked, but she bit her lips. She knew he had every right to know what was going on. She then turned to Charlus, who looked like he was taking a moment to find the words that he needed to say.
"That, Harry, I have very little to say. Other than, I was in a coma for seven years, and I was awakened recently." Dorea looked over towards Harry, seeing the hint of fear in his eyes. Charlus had taken a deep breath. "When I learned that your grandmother didn't have you. I had to see to it that you were here, just before your father wakes up."
Harry looked surprised, "My father?" He looked towards his aunt. "You told me that my parents died in a car crash."
Petunia closed her eyes in a hint of fear. "Harry, I didn't know how to explain things. Not when I had never lived apart from your magical world. I only knew that someone, called the Dark Lord, had killed your parents. But I didn't know if your father had died or was in a coma, all this time. I didn't want to give you a false hope, without know if there were any to give you."
Harry turned towards his grandparents. "My Dad, is he going to wake up?"
"Hopefully soon," stated Charlus with a kind smile. "Until then, we have time to clean this place up. That way he could have a kind surprise to wake up to." He then turned towards Petunia. "As for the cottage, it is yours, if you wish it."
"Thank you, Lord Potter," she gushed with a cheerful smile on her face.
"Please, do lord or lady anything," he waved his hands. His chuckled softly. "We are among family, just call me, Charlus."
Shortly after they had talked, they had enjoyed their dinner. Which consists of shepherds pie and carrot cake. Along with cider as their drink.
Dorea asked after everyone had finished their dinner. "Harry, your birthday is coming up. Is there anything you would like, dear?"
Harry shrugged his shoulders. "Well, I wouldn't mind a chocolate cake," he smiled that made his emerald eyes glow.
"I think a shopping trip is in order," she informed him. "Some new clothes and things to get for your room." She then turned to Dudley and Petunia with a kind smile. "We could also get you some new clothes as well. Clothes do make the difference of changes, as it were."
Harry giggled softly, after seeing his aunt look like she was in shock. The rest of the night was spent on Dorea teaching Harry and the rest of his family about the Wizarding World. Along with her telling them about the shops on Diagon Alley. Where she learned that she might get the boys a couple of pets of their own.
'James, please wake up. I know that you want to teach your son to fly. Your father can't do that himself.' She just hoped the universe would hear her and allow James to wake up.
