While You Slept

Lady Countryrose

Ch. 8

Dorea was not surprised, Remus came crashing through the fireplace. She giggled after seeing a very well aged Remus Lupin before her eyes. He turned towards her with a surprise look in his eyes.

"I…thought you died," he stuttered out.

Dorea looked at him with worry in her eyes. "No, dear. I have been here all this time."

He shook his head. "The headmaster, after that night, told me everyone had died. And Harry was moved to Lily's sister's home."

Dorea gaped at him. Before her anger took over. "When was the last letter that you had gotten from me?"

Remus pulled out all the letters he had from his back pocket. Other than the one he had gotten that day. The last one was dated back, October 25, 1981. Back when, she tried to get everyone together for a Halloween dinner.

"Oh Remus," tears came down her cheek. She then rushed towards him and hugged him tight. Dorea had no idea the pain that Remus had been through. "My sweet Remus, I am so sorry."

Remus just looked lost, but slightly happy as well. "Can I see him," he asked.

Dorea smiled, grabbed his hand and led him into the sitting room. Where she had left the children. Remus stopped when he saw Harry.

"Harry," Remus called out with tears in his eyes. "I had not seen you in a long time. You look like James, but you have Lily's eyes."

Harry had gotten up from his seat and walked over. "Sorry," he tried to give a kind smile. "I don't remember you."

Remus nodded his head. "Of course, I am Remus Lupin. I was a friend of your parents. I was even your Dad's roommate when we were at Hogwarts together."

From then, Remus told the children stories of Harry's parents. Causing a lot of laughter in her home. 'It's so good to hear laughter again.'

Dorea had learned one thing through Remus. It was time to let the Wizarding World know that they were alive. But first, she needed to add new wards onto the mansion. She was going to have to add Harry, Hermione and Dudley, along with Petunia.

Dorea hated to do what she needed to do to protect her growing family. But she had no other choice. She was going to have to add blood magic to the wards. Blood does not care what kind of blood one person has. Just living essence of blood was all that the land would need.

But for that moment. She would allow the children time to adjust to their new lives at the manor. Dorea would have to let the world know and with that, the fear of Dumbledore coming to her door. She will not have him come into her home and throw his authority around. No, she will not allow him to take Harry from her again.

Dorea went over to a desk and started to pen another letter that day.

Minerva,

It has been a while. Charlus is awake and Harry is living with us. I am going to need your support soon. I will be letting the newspapers know about our existence soon, in three days. I would like your aid with Albus soon.

I know you didn't agree with Harry living in the muggle world. At least in that place. But I do have a few others living at the manor as well. Two of them are Harry's aunt and cousin. We are allowing them to live with us.

Would you come over for tea time, in three days? I would appreciate it.

Best regards,

Dorea Potter

She then asked a house elf to send it off. She just hoped that Minerva would support her decisions.
