While You Slept
Lady Countryrose
Ch. 9
The next day, everything happened at once. Petunia had asked for help to change her name. Prompting Dudley to want a whole name change.
Petunia asked, "Why do you need a name change, Dudley?"
He sighed, "I was being bullied, mum."
Dorea had seen the pain in their eyes. Before, she had asked, "What would you like to be called?"
"Macbeth, a warrior name," he smiled, that reached his eyes.
Petunia blinked, "And here I was trying to change my last name, back to Evans. But I could also change my name to Beth as well." Her smile grew. "Beth Evans, it does have a nice ring to it."
Dudley smiled, "Macbeth Evans, I like that too."
Dorea looked at her husband with a raised eyebrow. He let out a chuckle, "I am on it, dear." He then called for Kingsley, since he had over called Alastor in the recent months.
She turned towards Hermione, who looked lost. Dorea smiled, "Don't worry, dear. I have something planned for you too."
She looked up with disbelief in her eyes. "What do you mean?"
Dorea glanced over at Harry. "Would you like to make Hermione, your very own sister?"
"We can do that," gasped Harry in wonder. "Yes, please!"
Hermione looked at her in wonder, as happy tears leaked out of her eyes. "But would your son be upset?"
Remus chuckled from his spot at the table. "No, if anything, he would spoil you. He did try to convince Lily, for a girl…" He shook his head. "But things have changed."
Hermione smiled, "Then I would love to be a part of the Potter family."
Dorea giggled, "Be prepared to have a shopping trip in Paris in your near future." It was then she saw Hermione looked scared. "I will even buy a few new books for your trouble." Which made her happy.
"Good, I won't be the only literate person around here," piped Remus. Causing a round of laughs.
After breakfast, Kingsley showed up with the proper paperwork for Petunia and Dudley. Within minutes, they were Beth and Macbeth Evans. Marking a new life for them, not just a new home.
Dorea had gone to see James. Where she had found new changes yet. She sat down in a chair by his bed.
"James, I wish you were here to ask. But I hope you won't be mad. You are gaining a daughter, it may not be how you have pictured. But Hermione is too precious for us to ignore. I am going to need a little of your blood, son."
She looked over her shoulder and saw no one coming towards the room. Dorea fished out a vial and pulled out her hair pin. With a small prick at his finger, she collected his blood. Once she had enough, she waved her wand to stop the bleeding. Then hid her items in her bag.
"By the end of the day, James. You will be a father of two children." She had taken a deep breath. "You know, if you were mad, you would have woken up by now to stop me." She then turned on her heel and left his room.
Dorea didn't know what it would take for James to wake up. But she was sure of one thing. He wouldn't be mad about being a father to another child. She found herself back at the manor again. Where she saw Charlus waiting for her.
He smiled at her. "So, when do you want to start the blood adoption, my dear?"
Dorea smiled, she could never stop loving the man in front of her. "Now," she had a tone of pleading in her voice.
Charlus gave her an edge in his eyes. "Once this has started, there is no going back."
"I know," she whispered softly. "I have always wanted to have a big family."
He gave her a nod, and he called for Harry and Hermione to come to the center most part of the house. Once everyone had gathered, it was then Charlus had started the ritual. Dorea had grabbed a copper cup and stood before the children, with a smile on her face. She also brought out a silver dagger.
Charlus had taken a deep breath. "We are going to do a blood adoption. First we need a few drops from Harry as a base. Since he is the one you need to have as a brother."
Dorea had taken Harry's hand into hers. Where she pricked his finger and added drops of his blood into the copper cup. Once she had gotten enough drops, she waved her wand over his finger, and it was healed instantly.
"Now the drops of the father," Charlus had added. Where Dorea brought out a vial of blood and bored it into the cup. Charlus then took the cup and waved his hand over the cup. Just, it started to boil with his magic.
"Blood of the father and the blood of the brother. Mix and match, make the daughter to be a blend of the two." He then handed the cup to Hermione. "All you have to do is drink."
She took the cup and blinked a couple of times. She then put the cup to her lips and closed her eyes. Just as she drank it all down. Hermione's body began to glow in a bright light, before it faded into her skin.
Her eyes were no longer brown, but green to match Harry. Her dark brown, tight curl hair had changed to a red tint, and wavy hair. Her face had changed to match Harry's. Making them nearly twins.
Dorea waved her wand to change a pillow into a mirror and showed Hermione. The girl gasped in wonder. "Wow, this is wonderful. I love my new look."
Dorea giggled, "I am so glad. Now you can call me grandma. What name do you want to be called, from this moment forward?"
Hermione blinked for a moment. "Would Hermione Lily Potter be alright? Since Harry has James for his middle name."
Charlus chuckled, "I think that would be lovely." He then handed her some paperwork for her name change. Leaving nothing to chance.
Once everything was done. Kingsley had taken all the copied paperwork back to the Ministry with him. Promising that everything will be done that evening.
Dorea turned to the children. "I think there is a spice cake in the kitchen for you." Causing them to rush towards the kitchen with glee.
Charlus turned to his wife, crossing his arms over his chest. "What do you have planned, my dear?" Giving her a hard look.
"I am planning to strengthen our wards. Then I will be announcing the newspapers about our growing family, dear." She smiled wholeheartedly.
Charlus closed his eyes. He had let out a sigh. "I may not agree with it. But I understand that we're going to have to do it."
Dorea glanced towards the open door, leading towards the kitchen. Hearing laughter coming from the children that were there. "I'm just trying to protect our family, Charlus. And it is the only way I know how."
"Agreed," he groaned in defeat.
It was time for the next thing for her to do. Adding the children and now Beth to the wards.
