While You Slept

Lady Countryrose

Ch. 13

Dear Readers,

The outcome in Courtroom Ten was an affair indeed. Women across all walks of society had a goal in mind. It was the collective support for Lady Dorea Potter. She is simply known as the wife of Lord Charlus Potter and mother of James Potter. As well as the grandmother of not just Harry Potter, our savior and Hermione Potter.

My dear readers, we had learned that not just some lords of Wizengamot and our esteemed Headmaster Dumbledore, had prevented a grandmother of her grandson. After the death of Lily Potter and the hospitalized James and Charlus Potter.

Only to hear the headmaster say, "...I still don't think that it is safe for Harry Potter to be exposed to the Wizarding World. Not before he starts Hogwarts that is."

You see readers, if the headmaster thinks that a child isn't safe in the Wizarding World, would that mean, no child is? Until they start school.

Parents, I can not read the mind of the headmaster or understand his reasoning. But would it mean that children don't know anything about protecting themselves? Have too much raw power for their little bodies to handle? Or is there something more that we don't know that the headmaster thinks for him to believe such outlandish thoughts?

Lady Dorea Potter has proven that she is alive and well. She took the ministry by storm and with it, change. The Treasured Few now have a voice.

"If any woman thinks that she was not heard, for any reason, come to me! No matter if I am in office or not, you will be heard!" Millicent Bagnold had declared for all to hear.

Dear readers, welcome to the new age. Where not just the men have a voice for fighting for their families, but also the women. The Treasured Few, I am with you and so is the Daily Prophet. Stay strong and be heard.

Yours dearly,

Rita Skeeter

Dorea Potter was happy, it may not be the article that she had pictured, even from Rita. But she was pleased. 'For once, she stayed on topic.'

"My darling wife," she heard Charlus next to her. "You look radiant this morning."

She turned to him with a smile. "I feel radiant." She showed him the article and he smiled. "Even though I was there, this is very empowering. Do you think you would run for office?"

Dorea shook her head. "Why would I want that kind of headache?" She sighed, as she saw the children at the table. Seeing that they had a newspaper as well. Only to see Hermione with sparkling eyes of happiness and hope.

Dorea may have fought for the voices of the Treasured Few. She was also fighting for the future of all women. Girls like Hermione, will not have to work just as hard, as she had. Just to be heard. 'It's worth it.'

Hermione turned to her with a smile. "Grandma, could you tell us how you command power, without showing it? It seems empowering!"

Dorea laughed, she turned to Charlus, who raised his hands in the air. "Nope, not me, I saw that power yesterday."

Hermione smiled even more, after hearing her own defeat. "Alright, come and learn my ways."

She took the children to the sitting room. Where she lined them up in a line. With their heads up high, shoulders back and glide into a subtle March. Dorea smiled as quickly as Hermione had done it. While the boys were clumsy.

She smiled, "Now boys, this is like a game. Picture yourself as a general, you demand attention, and that starts with yourself." Within moments, all three had it down. "I hope that you know that you don't need to act this way. You are perfect as you are."

"We know, grandma," smiled Harry. "But you looked so cool! We can't help but want that kind of focus as well."

So she told them how she had grown up, with the old ideals of how one should act. She never thought that the old teachings would be something that they would want to learn. James sure never wanted to.

'My mother would have been proud, she drilled this down my throat. Now I am teaching three children, in a kinder way than I had.'

She even showed them the proper way to have tea. Just as they finished up. A couple of owls had come in. One from the Greengrass family, requesting Dorea and her ward for tea. Same thing with the Parkinson family.

Dorea turned to Hermione with a kind smile. "Are you up for having tea with high society, Hermione? They requested our company."

Hermione turned towards Harry and Macbeth. "What about them?"

Dorea smiled, "Sadly, tea is for ladies and the guys, a game of Quidditch."

"What is Quidditch," asked Macbeth. "Is that a form of rugby?"

Dorea blinked and thought of what to say. Before summoning a book about the sport. She just hoped that James would understand that she taught them the basics of the game. Only to find the boys engaged about the sport. While Hermione looked horrific about it.

'I have a little lady at last.'

While the boys explored the game of quidditch with the book. Dorea and Hermione had planned to have tea with Lady Nora Greengrass and her two daughters, Daphne and Astoria. Where they agreed for tomorrow, while Lady Petria Parkinson and daughter, Pansy, the day after.

After a quick dinner, Dorea had gone to Hermione's room and voiced an opinion of what she should wear for tea. Once a wish of goodnight. Dorea had gone to bed. The day was lovely, more than she had imagined.
