A collection of oneshots based on my favourite pair in Merlin. Honestly, who doesn't love these 2?

Arthur meant to reach out to him, check him for injuries, but halted in his tracks when, for the first time, he noticed that it was a small girl that was cradled in Merlin's arms. "Merlin, who is this?" Merlin's grip around the child tightened, as though he feared she'd be taken from him. "She's mine," he said hoarsely. "Her name is Aithusa."

Sir Leon found a strange girl one day when he was out on a patrol, pinned under a hurt mare, scared and in pain. Once they took her back to Camelot to see Gaius, the questions began. Gently poking fun at Merlin plotholes and a fun imagining of what life must have been like for a commoner in Camelot, dealing with the occasional dragon attack and escaped prisoner. Very roughly corresponds to the episode order

Before Arthur could dwell on the fact that he might be about to kill his servant, a voice boomed across the courtyard, the words cutting through him with an icy chill. He knew that voice, but never before had he heard it used with such venom. (Set in s02e01. It's up to Arthur to put an end to Sigan's destruction, even if the sorcerer's soul is currently trapped inside Merlin.)

There were sacred things that should be treated with respect, not that Arthur wasn't above twirling some of them around like toys, the git.

As he watches Aithusa being hatched, Merlin reflects on his life, as Emrys and as a Dragonlord.
