The Tower

Erza Pov

I woke up cold and afraid

"Hey she's waking up!" Said someone

I lifted my head searching for where I was when it hit me like a train, 'my brother is dead killed right in front of my eyes.' And as a result I began to cry harder than I ever have before. A hand was placed on my shoulder and I didn't care who it was I was just crying for my loss the only family I had was taken from me by those monsters.

"Hey kid what's your name?" Asked the same person from before

I looked up into his eyes, they were black as the night with hair so dark brown it was almost black. "E…Erza…" I replied to the kind looking boy who had a small smile while looking at me.

"Well the name's Simon and you're going to have to calm down or the guards will notice you and you don't want that happening." He said kindly "I have some people I would like you to meet." He said pointing at two children in the back.

"H-h-hi" the small fragile looking blonde boy greeted

"Hello" a timid girl with brown hair also responded

"This is Sho and Millianna" said Simon as he helped me stand up

"Well where are we?" I asked after greeting the two others.

"We know just as much as you do." Stated the newly named Millianna.

"Well it looks as if we're on a boat being transported to some sort of tower" said a voice coming from behind the group.

"Hi Im Jellal and this is Wally." Said the waving bluenette with a strange tattoo over his eye motioning to the boy standing beside him who just waved hello without talking.

Just then we heard a splashing sound and footsteps coming from the stairs above. Which I attributed to us reaching our destination. I looked over to see the group I was with to see some fear in their eyes as the waited for the newcomer to approach and I couldn't blame them I was scared too.

"Alright everyone up, let's get a move on we're here time for work slaves!" A tall man with pale white eyes and a long black cloak said darkly

"Where are you taking us" a non said from the back of the group

"Silence!" He yelled "You will listen and stay quiet if you want to live, now everyone get up and stand with your backs to the wall." Said pale eyes as he reached for his Keys

We all went and had our back on the back of the boat watching him fumble with the Keys for a bit before unlocking the door with a loud clank. Two guards approached behind him with their staves at the ready looking at us as if daring us to try something so they could kill us.

"Now you will all come out one by one silently and you will be taken to your cells afterwards after you have received your suppressing cuffs you will be put to work tomorrow." He stated "now from the far right come up" he started. As time went by people went through the doors of the cell they were all separated into different groups likely for who would room together.

As I was watching everyone leaving it was my turn to go through and I was hesitant and didn't want to move. I just stood there staring at the man who was watching me.

"Girl hurry up I don't have all day now get over here." Pale eyes commanded

As I walked up slowly I was grabbed and pulled forwards by one of the guards who was helping pale eyes. Before I was able to leave to go and join a group my arm was caught by the pale eyed man. "Girl I hope you enjoyed watching me run your brother through." He whispered to me

'Bastard!' I knew he just wanted to get a rise out of me so he could punish me I was about ready to yell when I thought of what my brother would do 'Just stay calm Erza he's just trying to provoke you bide your time and things will be okay' I thought as tears started coming from my eyes, which only made him smile at me sickeningly.

"Go!" He said "Go and join a group we will be seeing each other around."

As I walked forward angry as could be I saw it as I came out of the hold a gigantic structure that Jellal mentioned was the tower.

"No time to be gawking at its majesty kid" one of the guards said as he pushed me violently towards a group on the far right side.

I waited for what seemed like hours waiting for everyone to be taken off the boats and grouped up and luckily I was able to be grouped with all the other kids that I met on the way here. As time passed we were led through different parts of the tower showing us what our duties will be while we are here. Showing us what needed to be done and how to do it and that if we refused we would be sent to Pale eyes for the night, that didn't seem like something anyone would want. Eventually we were led to our cells where we each had a magical cuff of some sort placed upon our wrists as we we're ushered into the cells for the night. As our group took over a corner next to an old man he turned to us and greeted.

"Hello kids I'm Rob, why don't you tell me your names."

Alex Pov

I was staring at the ceiling for who knows how long before they noticed I was awake. They started to ask questions I didn't want to answer. Yet I had too because they saved me from my demise.

'What do I do now' I thought

"So Alex, what happened to your village?' Tomas asked helping me sit up and as I looked at him and spoke sadly

"My village was raided for people by some dark mages, they took everyone who wasn't resisting too hard like I was."

"Hmm" said Tomas scratching his head. "I see… do you know anything on where they were being taken it seems fit to inform the Rune Knights of this."

"No I don't know where they were going but I heard some of them talking about a tower." I replied angrily clenching my fists as I said that I spied Fay coming out from the kitchen bringing some sort of green brew in a small glass bottle.

"Here kid drink this." She commanded handing me the brew.

"What is this?" I asked taking a small sniff before gagging "This smells horrible I can't drink it, it probably Tastes just as bad as the smells!" Still gagging a bit.

"Its medicine it's not supposed to taste good now drink it or you won't get better" she said pushing it to my lips

As I drank the disgusting concoction I tried my hardest not to vomit that didn't stop me from gagging after I had it all down though.

"Please no more…" I said weakly pushing it away

"If you don't want to die you will drink as often as I give it" said Fay sternly.

After that was over we myself and Tomas continued to talk about my experiences with the raid in hoping of getting some idea of who took the people from the village, from what I told him. Needless to say I didn't have much information of use to the old man in helping discover who it was other than a description of the clothing they wore.

"They wore dark black robes with a strange mask with a strange symbol upon it." I said

"Hmm alright I don't know of any organization that has such an outfit nor do I know of any tower." He said thinking out loud. "I do know that what's been happening around is that other villages such as this one have been ransacked and people taken, as far as I know you have been the only survivor so far" he said "you are lucky kid."

"Im not lucky," I said "I have the worst luck in the world for this to have happened to my sister and I."

"Even still be glad to be alive you can't find your sister if you're dead." Fay said

"Any ways kid, I wanted to ask you about what happened before you were stabbed." Tomas asked

"Huh?" I replied dumbly

"Well you said that before you were stabbed you were grabbed by one of the people who attacked your village, before some kind of force blew him away from you." He said "because it seems like you used some sort of magic to do so."

"Magic?" I said surprised "I don't know any."

"Yeah that's what I mean, from when we found you, you were incredibly weak not just physically but magic wise as well as if you used it all up." He replied.

"So I have magic?" I asked

"Yes" he replied "it seems like quite a lot from what I can sense. From what I can tell only an experienced mage should have this much."

"What?" I said surprised I had so much "why can't I feel it then?" I asked

"Im not sure" he replied while shrugging

"Well anyways it would be best if you can learn a little before we have to go."

"Go?" I replied "go where?"

"To Hargeon I have business there" he replied matter of factly "and if you would like to join us you can."

'Hargeon?' I thought 'I can't go anywhere until I can find a lead on where my sister is, I need to find her before anything else and get her back.'

"Im sorry but I cannot go with you I have to find my sister and nothing takes priority over that" I replied

"I see…" said the old man looking at me regretfully "well I cannot stop you if that is what you want, just know that we have 4 days before departing and that we will leave you some supplies so you can make it to the next town."

"Thank you for everything" I said while slightly bowing "I need to find my sister before everything else she is my priority."

Tomas smiled at me while I said that thinking 'What a determined young man I can only hope that he finds his sister soon even if it's just for closure.' "Good always keep that in mind and nothing will keep you from her." He replied

"That being said" he started standing up "the next town over is Psion the home of the mercenaries of Fiore. They have information networks all over Fiore so they should be able to help you in your search if you join up with them." He finished

"Me?" I asked "Become a mercenary?"

"Yes" he replied "become a mercenary it will help you find your sister I should know I used to be one myself" he said looking proud and a little smug.

"Hey, kid don't listen to him he wasn't even that good of a mercenary." Fay said waving him off "He was a mercenary until he had my father afterwards he couldn't support them because he wasn't strong enough, that's what it comes down to if you're a mercenary you have to be strong to be able to get what you want from them."

"Hey!" Tomas started

'Become a mercenary' I thought. "Will becoming a mercenary really help me find my sister?" I asked

"You bet kid." Replied Tomas "if you want to find your sister I'd say your best bet is to join up with them, they travel all over the kingdom of Fiore and outside." He said a with a thumbs up.

'If this is what it takes to find my sister I must become strong to get access to the best information available.' I thought

"Alright" I said "how do I become a mercenary?" I asked "and could you show me how I can feel my magic?"

"Yeah sure, kid" Fay said "I can teach you how to access your magic."

"And I can tell you where to go and how to become a mercenary." Tomas replied

'If I do this I need all the advantages I can get I must become strong so I can get her back' I thought with a determined face.

Tomas Pov

'This kid reminds me of myself' I thought 'I hope he makes it as far as he can he is going to need a lot of luck to be able to make it in the mercenaries, good thing he reminds me of my younger self so he should be fine.'

"Hey kid take this" I said giving him a sword wrapped in a bundle.

"What's this?" He asked

"Its my sword from when I was a mercenary it should help you out and give you some leverage within the mercenaries." I replied shrugging.

"Well thanks!" He said as I saw the determination in his eyes.

'Yes' I thought smiling at the young man before me 'he reminds me so much of my younger self he can make it as a mercenary.'

Whelp There we go we found out that Alex does indeed have quite a lot of magic within him as well as a plan with how to find his sister I have some idea of what type of magic he will have and it's going to be pretty cool its custom of course.

just a fair warning I will stop following Erza's story once she reaches Fairy tail because I don't want to mess with what happens when she arrives there because I like it how it is.

There will be a time skip sometime after Ya boi Alex has joined the mercenaries and has knowledge of his magic as I want to get to the main story as soon as possible but I will be doing some mercenary missions for Alex as well, so don't worry I have some cool ideas for it.

also you may be wondering why he isn't going to join a guild and that is because I want him to be feared as a master magic swordsman and have him be hella scary to your average person and you can't really do that if your not in a dark guild he's going to be a beast, but not too OP.
