P.S I don't own Fairy Tail because I'm not strong enough!

The Fated Farewell

We walked into the apartment I was given inside the guilds compound and it turned out to be pretty nice. It had a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and a small kitchen.

"Wow nice place," Fay commented

"Yeah I know I've never lived in a place this nice before where I stayed with Erza was a run-down shack on the outskirts of town," I said walking around the kitchen.

'I wish Erza was here I could make her some strawberry deserts,' I thought sadly.

"Well now that we're here after our little discovery about what your magic is I have something for you," Tomas said making both Fay and myself curious.

"Here," he said handing me a bag.

"What is this?" I asked looking inside.

"Well remember how I said black and gold were my best colors?" He asked

"Yes."

"I got you some clothing that will match with your colors and considering your sword showed me what colors would suit you best I had some ordered when we were about 4 days from arriving, take them out." He bade

As I pulled the clothing out I looked at it shocked, it was amazing. There laid out upon my bed was a white dress shirt with a golden dragon design running down the left sleeve starting from the left breast and going down to the cuff, turning it so I could see the back was a design of my Damacles in crimson and gold on the back and for pants, there was a set of black dress pants with golden runes going down the sides. He even got me some shoes that fit perfectly they were just your standard black shoes with a pair of black combat boots off to the side.

I looked at them with amazement and awe.

"They're a growth type so you won't need to worry about outgrowing them as long as you need them they won't fail you," he said causing me to turn to him.

"T-thank you.." I said, "I don't know how I can ever repay you both you've done so much for me…"

"No need Alex," Fay said with a fond smile. "In the little time we have come to know you, you've grown on our hearts becoming like someone in our family I'm glad to have met you, and it's our way of saying we will always support you."

"Thank you," I said softly giving them both a hug.

"I swear when I find Erza, I'll come and introduce you guys," I said with a smile.

"And I'll hold you to that, now go try it on we will wait to see if it works I'm not so sure about what Gramps here can pick out," she said pointing her thumb back at Tomas.

"Hey, I'll have you know your grandmother said I had good fashion sense," I heard while running to the bathroom.

Fay Pov

"Okay I'm coming out," I heard Alex call out from the bathroom.

"Alright!" I said back rolling my eyes.

"Don't be so drama…." I trailed off my eyes wide looking back at him

"So what do you think?" He asked

There he was little Alexander who used to wear nothing but rags and a borrowed clock from my father, and now he was looking good in the clothing picked out by my grandfather. His clothing matched well with his looks his face quite lean and well structured and his scarlet red hair only accentuated this point. Then his chest was hugged comfortably by his white and gold shirt showing some of the muscle we helped him build. Finally was his pants which were a comfortable and flexible material that showed his well-made lower half just as well as his shirt had helped his chest. His shoes were just a normal pair of black shoes that worked well in combat.

"See I told you I know fashion," Gramps said cackling.

'Indeed, you do know how to pick them, Gramps.' I thought, paused, and thought over that again. 'I will never tell him that.'

Alex Pov

I waited for Fay's reaction because I knew she was the one out of the two that could tell me if I actually look good.

"Looking good Alex!" She said giving me a thumbs up.

I smiled.

"Thanks, old man!" I said excitedly.

"No problem Alex I'm just glad that you like them," he said nodding.

"Well since that is over with why don't I make some food with what we have leftover from the journey?" I asked walking to the food pack

"Yahoo!" Said Fay raising a fist in the air

"Sure why not,' replied Tomas

After dinner, we talked about many things, such as what they were going to do in Hargreon and their traveling rounds so I could find them when I finished my search. And about Fay's father who left ahead of us, days before we departed the small cottage, and finally going over who could have been the ones in the area that could have been responsible for the attack on my village and as we were talking about that.

"Oh!" Fay said loudly. "Alex I actually found a lead for you back when we were waiting for you to get back from registration!"

"Really!?" I asked excitedly. 'Finally, I'll get a clue on just who took Erza.'

I saw Fay run to her bag and search for something.

"I found a book of symbols in a nearby library and I found the one you described," he said. "Ah here it is," she pulled out a large book with giant blocky black words that said "Symbols From Around The World" and quickly opened the book to a placeholder that was about halfway in.

"Here look it belongs to a group called the Cult of Zeref," she said pointing at the symbol I knew belonged to the dark mages.

"Yes, that's it!" I said loudly. "What is the cult of Zeref?" I asked

"It is a cult that has been brought together to revive the greatest dark wizard that has ever lived, Zeref," Tomas said

"What how do you know?" I asked

"I ran into some who belonged to the cult a long time ago before my son was born I don't remember them having the symbol at the time though," He said stroking his chin.

"Do you know where they might be?" I asked.

"No sorry it was too long ago and it was in a different country neighboring Fiore as well." He said apologetically.

"No it's alright I should be able to get some information about them from the guild now that I'm a member."

"Well enough chat it's time for sleep it's gotten way too dark to stay awake any longer and tomorrow it'll be time to say goodbye o get a good rest!" Fay said.

"Alright," I said walking off to my bedroom and without looking back I muttered

"ill miss you guys.."

That night passed without any nightmares

The morning came and after breakfast, it was time to say goodbye.

"Well Alex the time has come, let me tell you the time we've spent together has been a blast it's been a long time since I had a kid running around with us due to Fay getting older," Tomas said.

"Yep Alex it's been fun making you do all the chores along the way so I didn't have to," Fay said with a smile. "And it was fun having you with us I never had a little brother and if I did I would hope it to be you."

"Thank you both for everything you've done, I know I can never repay your kindness for saving my life and treating me as if I were a part of your family," I said with the widest smile I could muster.

"Although we will part for who knows how long, may we meet again for I will always keep you both in my heart," I said tears falling down my face and hand on my heart bowing deeply to them.

"I will miss you both," I said sadly.

"Awwww, Alex!" Fay ran up to me giving me a hug while crying. "We will miss you too!"

"Yes, Alex it's been fun I am sure we will meet again," Gramps said ruffling my hair.

"Thank you!" I yelled bowing to them once more while they were walking away.

'I hope to see them once again and bring Erza to meet them as well I'm sure she would've loved them,' I thought wiping the tears from my eyes.

'It's time to begin, it's time to get the information from the guild' I thought turning to walk to the mercenary guild building.

As soon as I arrived at the building I was greeted by Redlam, who apparently was my guide.

"Hey kid, it's time to show you around the place," he said walking off.

"Hey wait up I have a few questions for you," I called out to him while running to catch up.

He looked back at me

"Yeah what about?" He asked

"Well, do you know anything about the cult of Zeref?" I asked

Redlam stopped abruptly causing me to bump into him, he turned around to face me.

"Don't involve yourself with their matters boy," he said sternly "you don't need to know anything about them just drop it."

"But…" I started

"Drop it"

"Bu…" I tried again before being picked up and slammed into a wall.

"I said drop it, boy!" He yelled looking down at me

My blood boiled, my rage intensified at seeing him look down on me like I'm weak I locked eyes with him a calm rage within my voice

"They took my sister, I will not drop it," I said my eyes narrowing my power flaring.

He locked eyes with me and for an instant, I saw something in them before he dropped me and turned away.

"Follow me then," he said walking off.

'Bastard throws me against a wall and denies me information and then has the nerve to walk off.' My anger nearing its limitations to be held back.

"Fine," I replied curtly

We walked for what seemed like an hour before we arrived at a door labeled "Office of Redlam" and as we walked inside he hit a part of the wall causing the room to be engulfed in a giant silver magic circle then he spoke.

"Where was she taken from?" He asked.

"Rosemary Village, one village south of here," I replied straight to business.

"How old are you now?" He asked

"Eight."

"Two years," he said holding up two fingers.

"What?" I asked

"You have two years to train yourself if you want to find your sister, I know of a place that the Cult of Zeref is operating in although its a few countries over it will help you in your search and I don't want a new member dying on me because you will be spending a lot of time there." He said looking at me sternly.

"Why can't I go now?" I asked

"Because they are too strong for you as you are now I talked with Tomas about your magic and strength and I don't think you're ready even with the power boost your Damocles grants you."

"Why were you so against me finding them?"

"Those are my reasons do not pry into them," he said looking me dead in the eyes as if daring me to object.

'Hmm, this was much faster than I expected but it is still welcome so I will have to listen to his request.'

"Very well, is there someone who I can train with to help me accelerate the process?"

"I will train you," he said.

"What?"

Erza Pov

It's been a year and I'm sick of it…

"I'm sick of waiting around we have a good chance it's time to make our move," I said.

"Well we will have to discuss with Grandpa Rob so we can have the best chance so wait until we can talk to him in the cell tonight before we begin," replied Jellal.

"I hate this place and I want to kill Pale Eyes, but leaving and getting the magic council's attention is the best course of action so I will wait," I said in a hushed tone.

"Good tonight if the time is right we will make an escape."

"Right," I said nodding

Later that night

"Hmm I also think now is the time to strike with Erza memorizing all the guard's shifts and Jellal's good plan you should be able to make it to the ship," Grandpa Rob said nodding.

"Good then everyone gather around, here is the plan," everyone gathered.

"First we sneak out of the cell, then using Erza's memory we can avoid the guards until we reach the bottom of the tower where there is a storage room. In there is a trap door that leads to a cave and from that cave goes to the coast where we can get on the ship and make our way off this island."

"Any questions?" He asked.

"Well the big hole I'm seeing in that plan is that the cell is locked every night so we have to way out." Simon pointed out.

"Wrong," Jellal said reaching into his shirt. "We have this," he said pulling out a key.

"W-where did you g-get that?" Sho asked.

"I stole it from a guard who was drunk and fell asleep while on guard duty," he said.

"Great then, there shouldn't be any issues with the plan," I said.

"I for one am ready to get off this damned island," Wally said.

"As am I," Millianna said.

"Let us get started with the plan then wouldn't you all agree?" Jellal asked us.

"Yes!" We all replied in unison.

Our escape to freedom has begun.

wow, that had a lot in it for such a short chapter!

Alex leaves his newfound family to search for his sister he received a clue from Fay and gets thrown about by Redlam until he is given what he wants a way to find the Cult of Zeref! and Erza's escape has begun!

I'm planning on having only a part of Alex's journey actually written because I think it's about time I got into the main storyline considering we're about 17k words in and some stories I've read are done by this time and we all know he isn't going to find his sister there I mean cmon no way in hell

unless...

Thanks for ReDinG!

P.S that was a joke "unless" he isn't going to find Erza in another country.
