Hello people who walk on the street called the internet
I have a brand-new chapter for you all and I had a great time writing this one!
we're entering canon next chapter!
no more waiting I present "Brother of Scarlet" chapter 10 "A King's Divine Form"
Alex Pov
A quick train rides back to Psion and I'm making my way towards the guild.
'Wow, I got lucky!' I thought looking at the bag of wyvern scales. 'I have more than enough money to move somewhere else if I wanted, but considering I'm only going to be here another year I don't think that's very smart.'
'I can't wait to be reunited with Erza, I miss her so much I just want to see her smile again it's been over a year now since we've been parted and I can only hope she is still alive.' I thought looking over at the bakery as I was passing by.
'And if she is not….' I contemplated. 'I will destroy everything related to Zeref and his cult of followers. I will erase their very existence from the face of Earth Land no matter how long it takes, and it will be bloody.'
I finally made it to the mercenary guild and managed to shake the dark thoughts from my head, yet still in the back of my mind was a barrier that was ready to break and bring utter destruction to my enemies and show them the wrath of a vengeful king.
I walked towards Redlam's office looking around the building as I did so.
'I can't believe I have spent an entire year here and I still don't know anyone.' I thought and in the back of my mind, there was something saying that I need not associate with anyone lower than myself.
I reached Redlam's office and opened the door.
"Morning!" I said with a smile.
'I still won't forgive you for making me pay that three-million, bastard.' I thought.
"Ah yes," he said glancing at me which pissed me off to no end.
'Bastard!' I yelled in my mind still keeping my smile up.
"I have your magic instructor waiting outside he's one of the most advanced users in the guild he should be able to help you out with your training much more than I could, but still keep the weights on when training and always add more when it feels to easy to move I don't want you to be weak for the mission." He said still not looking at me while quickly signing papers.
"Very well, I will do that," I said walking out and closing the door behind me.
'Bastard thinks he can ignore me I'm nearly as good as a swordsman as him!'
I looked around and saw the member off in a corner chatting to some other people within the guild. I walked toward him ready to get started on my training and to figure out what kind of person he was.
"Hey," I said. "I was told that you will be my magic instructor, I think it would be best if we started right away I know a good spot to start my training."
He looked at me with clear disdain in his eyes which caused me to narrow my own.
"Look kid we will start your training when I say we will not a moment before got it?" He said in a hostile tone.
"Look guy," I said mimicking his tone which I hated. "You barely qualify to be a teacher of mine you should be honored to instruct someone who is your better, now you will go prepare your equipment or whatever you need and you will meet me behind the town in the forest in one hour." I said holding 1 finger up, "and if you should fail to show within that time your services will no longer be required got it?" I finished getting some laughs from the people with him.
He looked at me a little shocked at what I said, then that shock quickly turned to anger.
"Brat, I said we will start training when I say so got it?" He said seething.
"No, we will train on my schedule, not yours now get moving," I said walking off towards the training grounds.
I instinctively placed a shield construct around my back just seconds before I was attacked by a large blast of fire. As the fiery mass of gas passed around my shield and on the other side harmlessly, I turned disappointment in my eyes looking at the man who was just barely taller than I was.
"You are weak," I said simply.
"You bastard!" He said blasting more fire at me from his palms, I easily blocked all of them.
"Is that all you have you have no right calling yourself a mercenary with that pitiful level of skill," I said calmly walking towards him. This caused him to fire different types of fire attacks at me, all of which I blocked with ease not stopping for a second. After he had calmed down I was standing right in front of him with no injuries.
I lifted my hand and cast a spell.
"King's Construct Magic, Collar of Judgement," I said evenly as a crimson collar that looked like it was reserved only for the most heinous of criminals appeared on this neck with four spikes jutting out from each cardinal direction.
"Should I wish it I can easily kill you where you stand," I said causing him to take a step back.
"You are not fit to teach me anything, you are exceedingly weak for one of your age. I've only had access to magic for a little over a year and I'm already stronger than you. So from today forwards I will no longer need your assistance, your services are not needed I will train by myself seeing as you cannot teach me anything." I said with my hand raised ready to decide his fate.
(Imagine the hand sign from gladiator that the emperor gave when deciding whether someone should live or die, Basically a fist outstretched palm down with a thumb sticking out.)
"Now you will go to Redlam and inform him of my decision and your mistake," I said pointing my thumb upwards causing a little crimson magic circle to appear on my thumb, resulting in the collar dispersing into the air.
"O-okay…" he stuttered while cowering in fear.
I turned and walked out of the building with a creepy smile and into the forest behind the town to begin my training.
'I like this feeling," I thought.
Hours Later in the forest
I was sitting alone meditating when I heard someone approach.
"You should've left him to me kid." A gruff voice said.
"I cannot tolerate that man's stupidity or his weakness," I said without looking at him. "I have a goal that I must complete and someone like him will only hold me back from achieving it."
"I see.." He said. "So what will you be doing now that you don't have a magic instructor?" He asked.
"I will work on my magic alone, I have more knowledge on it than anyone else in the world anyways considering it's my own," I said turning to look at him. "I no longer need a magic instructor as I have a plan for how to improve myself."
"What is this plan of yours?" He asked.
"I will meditate and try whatever comes to mind," I said turning back and closing my eyes once more.
"Very well I will test you in a year, in that time come up with a new spell that I acknowledge got it?" He said.
"Very well," I replied focusing my efforts on my training.
'Well, I have been working on a complex spell that should give me some serious power. I never saw anything of the like while doing research on different types of magic. And maybe I should try to learn a second type of magic I could combine it with to make it stronger than it will be.' I thought smiling.
'he looks like he already has something planned,' Redlam thought a little weirded out by his smiling.
Days passed and I was working on my control of my constructs making them move in ways that they shouldn't and making them form increasingly smaller and denser barriers. Doing this allowed me to move my constructs in different ways and I could even start to combine them so they would support each other. This would result in a stronger construct seeing as I just normally molded a single construct into a single entity such as my shield or a sword, or even my knights.
This was all contributing to making all my constructs more durable due to the smaller and denser blocks of magic interlocking going on to form a larger construct all this training was going on to make my ultimate form of magic the avatar.
Days turned to months and eventually, the months turned to a year and a few days more.
It was time, I prepared for an entire year I completed my spell and I learned a little about a different type of magic., Gravity magic, I still couldn't do much with the magic due to my preference to use my King's Magic. All I could do with it currently was change the gravity within the range of my Damocles and even then that was only due to the boost in power granted by it.
"Are you ready Alexander?" Redlam asked.
"Ready as I can be, I want to get this over with so I can head over to the kingdom," I replied walking into the clearing I was training in.
"So what type of training have you done this past year?"
"I have been training the control of my constructs and I learned a new type of magic I can add to my arsenal. I'm not too great at the other magic seeing as I need the power boost of my Damacles to actually make it work well." I said shrugging, "well anyways let's get this started I wanted to show you my new strongest spell."
"Very well, he said stepping back.
"You are going to have to stand around 60 feet or so back," I said confidently
Redlam Pov
As I walked back to the edge of the clearing I looked back at Alexander putting my hand on my chin.
'Hm, if I have to step this far back it must be a large area of effect type spell usually those don't have much power. But considering the power boost given by Damocles, this might be more powerful than I expected.
I waited for the spell to be cast as I saw Alex readying himself.
I heard him yell and Alex's Damocles appeared in the air.
'Yep as I thought, it must need a powering up if he summoned Damocles.'
I refocused my ears so I could hear him cast better, I saw him take another stance legs spread and his right arm in the air palm facing the sky and he yelled.
"Power of the King, Embodiment of Divinity!"
I heard his spell and when it activated my eyes could only widen in shock as I saw the amount of power coming from his body it was the most I had ever seen him use. Afterward more power was being drawn from Damocles above giving him even more power. Then his power as it was growing it was taking a shape as he slowly lifted from the ground, gigantic legs were being created from the glowing crimson mass of magic power. Then a waist, torso, arms, then finally after all of that was formed a head with golden eyes appeared. Soon after the gigantic human was suddenly encased in a beautiful golden armor without a helmet after that had formed a long crimson cape appeared from its back, then finally an awe-inspiring ornate gold/crimson crown formed on its head. And when the shock finally faded I realized I could recognize the figure that came up to 200ft tall, it was Alexander! And I saw him in the main jewel on the crown proud as ever and sweating a little from what I could tell.
'This…' my thoughts barely moving in my brain. 'Is the most amazing spell I have ever seen it…. Its….' My mouth opened.
"Majestic…." I said

I looked down at Redlam, sweating as if I've been in a furnace.
'Well, I think this is more than enough of a show.' I thought looking at his shocked face with mouth agape.
Then I heard his words and smiled my victory assured, then I slowly allowed the construct to disappear. Leaving magic residue everywhere in its wake, I walked up to Redlam and asked, "so what do you think do I pass?"
Science was all that met my answer as he stared at me mouth now closed and eyes calculating.
"How long can you maintain that spell?" He asked
I looked back a little annoyed that he didn't answer my question before opening my mouth to reply.
"About thirty minutes or so."
"That's incredible," he said. "I have never seen something that grand in my life, and I've been around for quite some time now. What I saw was truly amazing."
I smiled arrogantly,
"That is only half the power of my "Embodiment of Divinity" its true height is four-hundred feet tall with a battle helm, sword, shield, and great-sword for a choice of weapons. I can't make too many weapons seeing as it's too complex."
"Why didn't you show me your completed version then?" He asked
"Well I only want to show my battle helm to my enemies because it's only meant to show when I'm ready for battle, and I can only hold that version for around five to six minutes max. I said
"Wow, even if it's only five to six minutes I think that it would be long enough to end any battle and some even before they begin. He said
"Yup!" I replied.
He rested a hand on my shoulder
"Well all I can say is that I'm proud of you Alexander, you have accomplished much in these past two years and I can say for a fact that you are the best student I have ever had. You learn way too quickly for someone of your age and it's frankly frightening and you're only ten now as well."
I looked at him with just pure joy in my eyes, to be acknowledged as the greatest student that has ever worked under a man as skilled as he, just feels great!
"Thank you," I said bowing my head. "Thank you for helping me train so I can find my sister it means a lot to me, teacher." I finished with deep respect in my tone.
"Alexander look at me," he commanded.
I looked.
"This is your sign that you have completed my training," he said handing me a silver ring with a black eagle sitting on a branch with wings outstretched engraved on the top.
I took it gratefully and admired the work that was on the ring.
"This is an awesome ring," I said sliding it on my left ring finger.
"I hope it is considering you are the first pupil I had to make it for." He said causing me to look at him making him smile.
"You are the first student to ever finish my training," he said sticking his thumb out and giving me a thumbs-up.
"I will honor it then," I said with determination in my eyes.
"Good," he said. "Now we must discuss what is going to happen now, follow me to my office it will be more comfortable there."
In Redlam's Office
He sat at his desk facing me as I stood before him.
"Pergrande Kingdom," he started. "Is currently in the midst of a civil war as you know, I will be sending you to fight for the king in his war. But the main reason for you being there is going to be hunting down the cult that follows Zeref there who is helping the rebels in exchange for an artifact that belonged to Zeref some kind of important book that Zeref wrote. Anyways you will be going there to find information on your sister's whereabouts and you must kill the ring leader of the cult there."
"Why must I target the leader specifically? I was planning on killing them all anyway." I said shrugging.
"Well, the new leader of the cult is my half-brother…." He said. "I heard from my spies in the region that he only recently assumed leadership."
"Your brother!" I yelled.
"Quiet boy, I don't want anyone to know about him!" He said shushing me.
"What did he do except join the cult that resulted in him needing to be killed? It seems that's not the reason for you wanting him to die." I asked
"For the crime of killing our entire family, he must die no matter what," He said angrily.
"I see.." I said
'What kind of monster can kill their own family…' I thought.
"Very well I shall kill him, who knows since he's the leader he should have the information I need," I Said nodding my head.
"Yes thank you," he said nodding his head looking tired.
"There is one more matter to discuss before you leave for the Kingdom," he said.
"Yes?" I asked.
"By rules of the guild I cannot offer this mission to you, so as of now you are no longer a member of the Fiore Mercenary Guild," He said.
"What why!?" I asked.
"It would be illegal to send you there on an official mission due to your age and experience so I will be telling the king of your exploits and he will hire you as an indipentant mercenary," He said.
"Very well," I said a little angry that I couldn't stay after the mission was completed.
"Also," he said going through his desk.
"This is yours," he said pulling a large sack from his desk drawer.
I looked inside and I saw it to be six million Jewel.
"What's this for?" I asked.
"The apartment that you lived in is actually owned by me, it's something I have for kids in your situation I was going to give you your money at the end of the training period as a joke." He said smiling.
"You bastard!" I yelled reaching over the desk to strangle him.
A good 30 minutes of yelling later….
"I should've known," I said upset at being duped.
"Haha, yes it was good fun but all good things come to an end. I have a train lined up to take you to Pergrande, of course, you are going to have to change trains quite a few times so I have a list for you."
I looked at the list and saw how comprehensive it was and I was a little amazed, then I thought of something.
"Hey Redlam," I said.
"Yes?" He asked.
"Can you give me more information about your brother I need some clues on who to look for," I asked?
"Hm," he said thinking. "He is around 5-1/2ft tall with short brown hair and he has Pale Eyes that he was born with as a birth defect."
I looked at him with shock.
"P-Pale E-Eyes?" I asked.
