Chapter One
Kagome sat next to the bed, giving her little brother a small smile, "They said the operation will be performed next week."
It had been about four months since she had started taking care of her brother, her mother had passed on, and her grandfather was in a nursing home. She was the only one able to take care of him, and she happily did it.
Souta looked at his sister and sighed, "Are you paying for everything?" He gave her a small glare; he loved his sister and knew she probably was paying for everything out of her pocket to care for him.
Shifting from one foot to the other she smiled, "I got a very well-paid job now; there is no need to worry." Kagome tried to reassure him; she wanted to make sure he knew he didn't need to feel like a burden.
She knew the way his brain worked.
Giving his forehead a click she chuckled, "Don't worry about it, I have everything covered. You just need to rest. Got it?"
Souta nodded, rubbing the place his sister flicked him. Even if she said that he couldn't help but worry about her. He knew she would work herself in the ground if need be, and he didn't want her to do that.
Looking at her watch Kagome sighed, "I have to go, I still have to go to the store and do homework…..then work." Getting up from her seat she smiled and kissed her brother on the head.
"I'll come by again soon…" She really tried to visit every day, but sometimes that didn't happen. She had school, work, and homework to do, so it was hard to come and visit too.
