Twin DevilBats Runners

Chapter One

The sun rose higher as the day started to move for the morning, despite it being a Saturday but it was still a cool day, allowing the Kobayakawa home to open their windows and eat breakfast while looking out at their sunbathed yard.

At the breakfast table, as the wife of the house, Mihae had set a plate of eggs in front of her husband who was reading the morning paper, a mild but sweet mannered woman turned to one of her children and asked, "Kagome-chan, could you go wake your brother for breakfast? The both of you will be late meeting Mamori-chan at Deimon High to see if you two are accepted."

The daughter, Kagome smiled up at her mother and nodded before setting her bowl of rice down and standing to make her way to head up the stairs to her brother's room.

Coming to her brother's room, Kagome opened the door and looked in to see her brother still sleeping on his futon, albeit flailing out and snoring softly. The sight of her brother made her shake her head slightly before laughing softly at seeing Sena hug his pillow after he turned over. But knowing that she couldn't really leave her older twin to sleep in and miss breakfast or even have them run late in meeting up with Mamori at Deimon high to see if either of them had been passed the school's entrance exam.

Stepping into the boy's room and standing next to his head, Kagome nudged the sleeping boy with her foot and spoke, "Ní-san, time to wake up. Breakfast is getting cold and we still need to meet up with Mamori at her school."

With how Sena had burrowed his face deeper into his pillow and brought his legs up closer to his chest, Kagome knew her first attempt at waking her brother was a dud. Nudging him a little rougher than before and calling out his name, she was met with the same results, aside from the sleeping boy groaning and slight annoyance and trying to bat her foot away.

Kagome narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips in her own annoyance before stepping out of the room, only to return a couple minutes later but with a glass of icy water.

Dipping the fingers of her free hand in the glass, Kagome kneeled next to Sena to where she could see his face and started flicking her fingers allowing the now slightly warmed droplets of water to splash in her face. Although he scrunched up his face in annoyance and discomfort, Sena just covered his face with a groan before going back to sleep.

Now getting impatient with her elder twin brother, Kagome frowned as she stood with her free hand resting on her hip and almost glared down at her sleeping brother with an angry tick on the side of her head before dumping the icy water on top him.

From downstairs, both Shuuma and Mihae gave a knowing glance to each other after they had noticed Kagome bringing a glass of iced water upstairs. The two parents knew what was about to happen next and started to count down in their heads. As their countdown reached 'one', Shuuma had to keep himself from jumping at the sound while Mihae tried to cover her slight mirth as the two adults heard a loud shriek.

"HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!"

It was such a normal occurrence while their twins were growing up and during the two summers Kagome came home from middle school that both Kobayakawa parents and their neighbors were use to it. And Shuuma had openly admitted to his wife that he kinda missed it because it reassured him that both his children were under the same roof. His wife, Mihae couldn't agree more, not to mention she missed having her daughter home.

Back upstairs, if she wasn't so impatient about waking Sena and have him get ready for breakfast so they could leave, Kagome would be laughing at how high pitched her brother's shriek was and at the look on his face as he jolted awake, almost looking like he jumped a foot or two off his now wet futon.

After waiting a minute of letting her brother get his bearings together, the boy finally looked up to her confusedly before she spoke again, "It's time to get up, Sen-Ní. Breakfast is ready." When it looked like her brother was gonna go back to sleep, Kagome added with finality, "Don't you dare go back to sleep, Ní-san! After breakfast we're meeting Mamori at Deimon High to see if we passed the entrance exam. Now get up, get ready and come down before your food gets cold or worse, I leave you behind to catch the next train to Deimon."

With that, Kagome left to allow her brother to get dress and for her to head back down to finish eating. As she sat back down in her place at the table, she set the glass she used before next to her juice glass and picked her rice bowl up to finish eating. As she finished her rice and just picked up her bowl of miso soup, Sena came hurrying down dressed in his black Gakuran from Junior High and hair still a bit damp from his wakeup call.

Accepting the bowl of rice from his mother, Sena thanked the older woman before looking to his sister with a slight pout. When he took in his twin's attire, the timid boy asked, "Kagome-chan, where's your uniform from your Junior High School?" The younger twin was wearing a dark pair of baggy cargos and an aquamarine tank top that showed her stomach and her starburst shaped birthmark on her side.

Sena had to smile when he saw that the tank top had a glaring chibi tomboy neko-girl with black pigtails with white tips on it but soon sweatdropped when he read the quote over and under the neko-girl that said "I may be small and seem harmless... but I've got PMS! Don't Mess with Me!"

Kagome glanced at Sena before looking down at her attire. There were two reasons why she decided not to wear her uniform. For one, it was scratched up at the skirt due to Sena's cat, Pitt getting too rough with his play when he saw a loose thread hanging from the hem. And two... well, she never liked the uniform anyways with how short the skirt was and the last thing she wanted was for getting stares and catcalls from the male populace as she and her brother head to Deimon High.

And the blue-eyed girl told her brother these reasons but also thought to her self while smiling inwardly, 'Although, I am happy that Pitt ruined the skirt. I just hope the skirts at Deimon, if I pass, are not as short as my last school's.'

After finishing the last of her soup and the rest of her breakfast, Kagome looked up at the clock, she almost cursed at how late it already was. Downing the last of her juice, she quickly stood before shaking Sena's shoulder, saying urgently, "Sena, come on! We gotta get going before we're really late!"

Looking from his sister to the clock on the wall, Sena almost choked at the time and quickly ate what he could of his breakfast before standing and quickly went to the foyer where Kagome was slipping her hoodie (which had a different quote, saying "I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it" with a cute but crazy looking red bat demon on it) and was about to get her shoes on.

Once both were finished and Kagome handed Sena the card that had his exam number on it, they bid goodbye to their parents who in turn gave their good lucks that they passed the entrance exam for Deimon High.

Now out the door and exiting the front gate, Kagome and Sena both made a mad dash reaching high speeds toward the train station that would lead to Deimon Prefecture. After arriving at their stop, the twins exited their cart and continued their run with their speed being enough to not only pick up dust but also picked up in wind, tousling the hair and clothes of those they had passed.

Making it to their destination's front gates, they skidded to a stop while not taking any notice of the shocked expressions of the other examinees around them. After catching their breath, they started to look around into the crowd of hopeful new students before they heard Mamori calling for them in the crowd, standing on a bench.

"Sena! Kagome-chan! Over here!" In the crowd, she was the only student (other than Kagome) who was dressed in casual clothes and also the oldest of those present, aside from a few stray parents who came with their children.

Kagome and Sena made their way over to the older girl; the former knowing was going to hear the older girl gripe about her clothes. And as if on cue, Mamori directed a frown to the younger twin, "Kagome-chan, why aren't you wearing your Junior High uniform?"

"Like I told Sena – not only am I not wearing a skirt that short ever again, but Pitt clawed the skirt into threads and strips... thus, the reason why I'm wearing my most comfortable pair of pants, a tanktop, and my favorite hoodie." Kagome answered with an aloof expression that she knew always irked the older girl who always acted like a mother hen when concerning her twin brother.

'It's no wonder my brother's always so timid and was always getting picked on when we were kids, even after Ri-kun taught the both of us how to run as fast as we do now.' Kagome thought with an inward frown of her own, 'and even when he's trying to make a change on his own, she butts in and doesn't allow him while treating him like a child that can't think for himself.'

With her frown, deepening, Mamori replied, "I thought you went to Ojo Middle/Junior High. Last I checked, their skirts weren't that short."

"Well, that was before the school got a new principle. Their last one while I was there had a fetish for mini-skirts and was a bit of a pervert and he was arrested for it when one of the faculty members caught him trying to force himself on a female student." Kagome stated while adding what her last principle was like and what happened to him.

Mamori gave a scowl that looked more like a pout than an actual scowl before giving an exasperated sigh (Kagome guessed she didn't believe her in what she said about her last principle). What the older girl knew, despite her various tries to be the 'big sister' figure for the Kobayakawa twins, was that while Sena was soft-spoken, timid, and insecure, his younger twin sister, Kagome was almost the complete opposite of him being more outspoken, bold, and in no doubt of herself unless it concerns her study and test-taking skills.

'Even while Sena is weak and fragile, Kagome-chan is stronger and more active, not caring if she gets hurt or the least bit dirty.' The older girl thought, not at all realizing she was insulting her friend who she had been protecting since elementary school before adding slightly hurt, 'No matter how much I try to be there for her, she always pushes me away, saying that she can pick herself up without help.'

Pushing those thoughts aside, the older smiled once again before suggesting they look for their exam numbers on the large and tall bulletin board that were showing which examinees had passed and were accepted into the school.

As they were making their way there, Mamori asked, "So what are your test numbers?"

"... Z-zero-two-one..." Sena answered in a stutter after bringing out his test card that had his Exam number on it, showing how nervous and apprehensive he was at finding whether or not he passed, despite the comforting presence of his sister and Mamori.

Looking down at her own number, Kagome answered, "Zero-two-zero." Although nervous, Kagome was hopeful as well that she and Sena passed the test. She also didn't want to show how nervous she was so to spare herself from Mamori's mothering.

'Mama's not bad with it comes to her motherly duty but Mamori takes it to the point where she's just hovering until she suffocates the one in her care.' Kagome thought before adding with her 'Let come what may' way of thinking, 'Well, even if Sena and I or neither of us passes, we can always try again or take another school's entrance exam.'

She then heard her brother give a small whimper before he spoke quickly, "I definitely failed! I'm going home!"

At this before the boy could make a quick getaway, both Mamori and Kagome each grabbed a shoulder before Kagome scolded lightly, "Oh, no you don't Ní-san! For better or worse, you're gonna see this through to the end."

"She's right, Sena. And you won't know that you failed, unless you look." Mamori agreed.

Although, both girls had different ways of helping and supporting Sena and usually butted heads about that and some other things, they both knew when to put their foot down when it came to Sena's tendencies to run or doubt himself.

As Kagome and Mamori began to search for both test numbers with the older girl resting her hands on Sena's shoulders to make sure that the boy didn't run away, Mamori began to mutter both test numbers, searching along the rows of numbers that were set in numerical order yet also in groups of percentage rank.

Mamori then released a gasp before saying elatedly, "Guys! They're they are! Twenty and twenty-one are right there! The both of you passed!"

While Kagome gave a relieved but delighted grin, Sena gave a look of shock at seeing his test number before releasing tears of joy as Mamori ruffled his hair and gave praise to both him and Kagome for passing.

'Ahhh, now Kagome-chan and Sena are my Kohais now...' Mamori thought happily and almost wistfully.

After Sena calmed down a bit, he spoke in his timid voice, "Ah, I guess I should be happy that I'm a first year in high school."

"That's right, Sena-Ní, you should be very proud of this achievement." Kagome smirked, happy that not only was her brother accepted into Deimon but that she had also been accepted. 'Now we can attend class together, just like in elementary.'

Kagome and Sena had always been together, from the day they were born to the last days of Elementary school. But as they were to start middle school, Kagome had to move in with their aunt on the other side of the city to attend Ojo Private Middle School and their Junior High because she showed great potential in her academic skills, along with her aptitude in gymnastics and Trek and Field (Though she never really gave her all in Trek, due to her not having any desire to break any records).

Though the school was a pretty expensive one, even for a middle school, Kagome was covered due to her aunt Nodoka's husband being a pretty successful businessman and willing to help pay for the school's expenses. The only relief was that Kagome was allowed to visit her immediate family during holidays and summer break.

When she had graduated, Kagome jumped at the chance to start admitting to high schools that were closer to home and were ones that her brother was trying to get into, despite her one-way ticket to go to Ojo Private High School. But after finding out how expensive it was and not wanting to have her uncle spend any more money on her schooling than he had already done, Kagome turned down her admittance, stating that she'd rather attend a public school that was just as good at academics and was also closer to home.

And now here she was, back home with her family and also now able to attend to the same school as her brother, just like before.

The raven-haired girl was brought out of her thoughts as Mamori spoke, "Yeah, even though the both of you were a mess with Math and English, you two had Mamori-sensei to help." At this, she bumped her elbow against Sena's shoulder.

'I wasn't that bad at English... and I just sucked at the trigonometry and advanced algebra.' Kagome thought sourly, remembering all the times her uncle had always helped her in speaking, reading, and righting in English enough to help her get by should a tourist, English-speaking exchange student, or even if she decided to take a trip to America or Europe in the future. Out of all her subjects, advanced Math beyond basic algebra and geometry were her worst grades in and she needed the most tutoring and extensive help on.

Mamori then continued, "Now the two of you can commute with your beautiful childhood friend again, just like when we were in elementary school."

At this point, Kagome stopped listening to the older girl and looked around at the students that gathered, none of them she recognized before she left for middle school before her attention was brought back to her brother and Mamori with the older girl sounding like she was stuttering and–

Kagome then raised a slightly confused brow, 'Is her voice almost breaking?'

Then before Sena or Kagome could ask, Mamori left in a hurry, saying that she was going to get their student handbooks in the admissions office.

After she disappeared into the crowd, Sena turned to Kagome and asked worriedly, "W- was Mamori-Né-chan crying?"

"Most likely... though I don't know why." Kagome answered, not really understanding the older girl and her need to be a mother and take care of everyone around her – more specifically the smaller and weaker-looking ones. This often made Kagome wonder if the one quarter American had this strange Shota/Lolita fixation.

'Gods, I desperately hope not.'

At her answer, Sena gave a sweatdrop knowing for as long as he could remember, his twin sister had never really got along with Mamori-Né-chan, believing that her caring and kind nature was suffocating and sometimes downright annoying when she's always trying to take care of them.

Sure, there were moments that they could be in agreement about something but those moments were so rare that he could count them at the top of his head. The only reason Sena's sister really tolerated Mamori was because the older girl was his first and only friend after their best friend and old classmate Riku moved away.

Sena's train of thought paused after feeling someone or something staring at his and his sister from behind them.

The twins turned around to see two guys, one tall and chubby almost reminding Kagome of a big Manju bun and the other somewhat smaller but thinner with pointed ears and spiky blonde hair, jogging up to them. Both boys looked older and wore rest American football jerseys with the taller one's being seventy-seven while his friend had 'One'. The two continued to make their way to the twins before the latter set his sights on them and gave an almost maniacal and deadly grin full of sharp teeth with the corner of his lips just barely reaching his ears.

The sight made Kagome tense, ready to use self-defense if he and his buddy meant to do them harm while her brother was more vocal in his apprehension as the two boys ran toward them.

Before she could react in order to protect herself and her brother, she felt herself being lifted and tossed in the air as the older boys yelled out together, "Congrats on your success! Ya-Ha!" She was practically left speechless by this gesture even after they set her down and went over to Sena to repeat the same gesture.

Despite how happy her brother looked at receiving such praise and being rewarded with being tossed in the air, Kagome couldn't help but blink at this, not really believing that these senpais were praising them from the goodness of their hearts.

After they had set Sena down, the demonic looking blonde took out his red cell phone and held it out to the twins still grinning in what they could only guess was 'kindly', "Here. You both can take turns calling your parents about your admittance."

Kagome raised a brow at this, less gullible than her brother as she asked, "Is it really okay for us to use your cell?"

After the older boy's assurance, Sena accepted the phone and started dialing their home number, thinking how nice the senpais were at Deimon while ignoring his sister's slightly stiff form. After the ringtone and just as he was about to finish tell their mother about him and Kagome passing, the phone was quickly taken from his grasp before handed to Kagome.

Glancing down that the red cellular device to the blonde boy in front of her, Kagome voiced, "It's alright. He and I live together so there's no need to call." At this bit of news, Kagome could see the boy's green eyes almost light up with a surprised but pleased glee. As it looked like he was going to ask her a question, the group heard Mamori almost cry out in a scolding manner before suddenly positioning herself between the blonde and the Kobayakawa twins, fists set on her hips as she defiantly glared at the tall blonde.

"Hiruma-kun! These two are the only ones you're not allowed to extend your dark clutches to!" Mamori declared.

'Dark clutches? I know the guy almost looks demonic but surely she's just exasperating.' The younger twin thought as before suddenly being wrapped in Mamori's nearly suffocating hold as the older girl added vehemently, "This goes especially for Kagome-chan!"

This had Kagome's brow twitch in annoyance at Mamori's mothering over her while Sena looked on curious yet confused.

The older boy raised a brow of his own questioningly before taking a glance Kagome. And as if struck with a realization, the boy spoke almost in a mocking yet teasing way, "Oh, what's this? Ms. Disciplinary Officer is favoring one boy over his sibling? And what's more concerning is he's smaller, younger, and prettier-looking than you?" His expression almost turned absolutely evil is mischief as he added with a cackle, "Kekekeke, didn't really take you for one to be into Shota, most especially not for young boys that look like little girls."

Kagome couldn't help but snort in amusement, trying to keep from laughing out loud. What the blonde senpai said was just too funny yet at the same time. 'Oh my god! I'm not the only one who thinks so!' Because of this, she ignored the fact that the senpai thought she was a boy with feminine feature.

Before Mamori could make an indignant response, Hiruma's pointed ear twitched at hearing someone else elatedly yell out that he was accepted into Deimon as well before he and his round friend, Kurita left and gave the new student the same treatment they gave Kagome and Sena not too long ago.

Sena blinked at the sudden departure before turning to Mamori, who still had Kagome in her arms, and asked curiously, "Who was he?"

After hearing the question and releasing Kagome from her hold, Mamori answered with admonition, "Listen carefully, you two. That's the one person you do not want to get associated with! His name is Hiruma, and he's like a demon! Once he lays his eyes on you, he'll drain you of all you have until you're nothing but skin and bones!"

This had Sena almost worried and dreaded picturing the son of a devil wrapping his tongue around the boy, ready to devour him. Kagome, though, just rolled her eyes believing that Mamori was exaggerating a bit like the ninny she is.

Wanting to steer her brother's thoughts from the dark image of Hiruma that Mamori had induced, Kagome spoke, "So? What now? We've already found out that we passed."

Mamori looked up in thought, index finger resting on her chin, "Well, you two don't have to get your uniforms until tomorrow. Same goes with your homeroom numbers..." her face then lit up before looking to the twins with a smile and asked, "Hey, why don't we go and celebrate with lunch?"

Liking the idea himself, Sena replied, "That sounds good to me." Then turned to Kagome and asked, "What do you think, Kagome-chan?"

"Oká-san did say that whether or not we passed, she would be making a hearty dinner tonight. But I guess lunch sounds good." Kagome answered before adding with a grin, "Running over here in our hurry really worked up the appetite."

Meanwhile, just around the corner of a building as the three were leaving, the blonde demon of Deimon, Hiruma grinned maniacally as he stared at the screen of the cell phone he allow Sena to use to call home, his and Kagome's home number now stored into it's memory and displaying on the cell's small LCD screen.

Hiruma couldn't believe his luck in finding two new first years that lived under the same roof! And for the first sighting of healthy looking and potential players for the football team!

"Kekeke, hitting two birds with one stone. That's pretty lucky for the start of our search." Hiruma cackled as he brought out four more phones and lots of business fliers and brochures and started dialing the numbers to businesses. When the businesses on the other end of the lines asked for the number, Hiruma answered with the number Sena had dialed before he finally got a bite on the address of the Kobayakawa residence and wrote the address in his black book with dark glee.

Kurita looked on with a nervous sweatdrop, pretty use to the quarterback's antics to get what he wanted or needed before the blonde ordered him to get the next potential recruit that yelled out again, thrilled that they passed Deimon's entrance exam.

The next day, after Kagome and Sena picked up their class information for their first day and picked up their uniforms, the twins waved goodbye to Mamori before making their way home. As they made it to the front gate, they were met with the sight of their mailbox stuffed to the brim at the front slot and overflowing from the inside of the gate.

With brows furrowed slightly in curiosity, Kagome picked up a handful of fliers before reading the first in her hand out loud with Sena looking over her shoulder, "Member Recruitment Tryouts! Let's Work hard toward the Christmas Bowl!" Before she could read the details, both she and her brother heard the phone ringing and the fax machine beeping.

As they both entered the front door, it was just near chaos in the foyer with the fax printing almost yards and yards of the same fliers they received in the mail while the phone rang and replayed the same message over and over to join American Football.

Sena started to hyperventilate as their mother; Mihae came in with her arms full with American Football fliers, muttering how it was never-ending.

Sighing at the chaos and her brother almost breaking under the pressure of the recorded message and the endless printing of fliers, Kagome stuffed all the papers she was holding under one arm before making her way to the phone and fax machine. After pressing a few buttons, she was able to cancel the printing and erase the recorded message.

Giving her own sigh of relief at the quiet that followed, Mihae thanked her daughter before leaving to retrieve the Recycling bin for paper.

Turning to her brother, Kagome gently asked before bending over to pick up the fresh faxed prints, "Could you help me gather all the paper, Ní-san? I doubt Tou-san like it if he comes home to a mess like this." Although, the younger twin doubted their father will get angry, she knew that he'd react much like Sena had done.

Nodding almost dazed, Sena agreed before kneeling to pick up the papers as their mother set the recycling bin next to them. The elder but more timid twin wondered who had sent all these fliers to their home and why.

Later that night, neither of the twins were any the wiser to the pair they met at the school when seeing their entrance scores running from residence to residence stuffing more American football fliers into the mailboxes, leaving a trail of said fliers in their wake along the street.

On the day when Kagome and Sena start attending Deimon High, Kagome tied up her hair before straightening her necktie. Looking into the mirror, the blue-eyed freshman took in her uniform, scrunching her nose up slightly at the color but grateful at the length of the skirt.

The girls' uniform from Deimon High consisted of a black skirt, white dress shirt, and an almost mint green blazer. The only change Kagome made to it was the necktie, going with the boys' black tie more than the red ascot like cloth that was originally for the girls' uniform.

When she and Sena went with Mamori to the place they were selling the school's uniforms, the older girl had suggested that both twins get a size larger saying that before the year was over they would already grow into them. But knowing that she won't be growing more than her current petite 155 cm height, Kagome got her usual size while switching the neckties and making sure the skirt was a bit passed her thighs, despite Mamori complained about her not taking the red thing for her necktie.

'Unlike her, I don't want to be wearing Christmas colors all year.' Kagome thought, ruffling her bangs a bit before nodding at her reflection in satisfaction and turning to her desk to pick up her schoolbag and new cell phone.

As a reward for passing the entrance exam, Kagome and Sena's parents bought each of them a cell phone. While her brother's cell phone was the standard black, Kagome received a royal blue one with a white glittering spider lily painted on it.

Both twins were each happy to receive a cellular device so their parents won't worry about them so much and they could also be in contact with each other and their friends.

Pressing the button to reveal her Contact list, Kagome read Sena and Mamori's names, along with one of her old friends from when she had attended Ojo Middle/Junior High. Soon after receiving her new phone, Kagome was able to call him to send her new number so she could keep in contact with him.

After contacting her friend, Sakuraba Haruto and him asking if he'll be seeing her at Ojo Private High, he was disappointed to hear that she turned down her admittance to the school in favor of going to Deimon with her brother.

Kagome laughed softly, remembering him almost groaning disappointedly when he asked why she wasn't going to Ojo for high school but he understood her want to be closer her family and home. She almost scoffed at hearing him say that Coach Shoji would be disappointed that wouldn't be attending Ojo for her high school career.

'Ever since I volunteered to take a friend's place for a Trek meet, Coach Shoji had been trying to persuade me to come to the American Football club after hearing that my 40-yrd dash had almost hit the speed record his Ace had set.' Kagome thought while pocketing her phone into one of the side pockets of her bag and exited out her bedroom door as Sena had exited his. 'But too bad I had already signed up for the Gymnastics Club at the time.'

The younger twin noticed her brother's slightly damp mood before asking, "You okay, Ní-san? I thought that you would be looking forward to our first day as High school first years, even if only a little."

Sena lifted his head to see his sister's concerned eyes before he smiled in reassurance, answering, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little down that the only numbers I have in my phone are yours and Mamori-Né-chan's."

Smiling softly, Kagome slung an arm around her Sena's shoulders, "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be able to make some friends this year." As Sena was about to tell her he did have friends, Kagome cut him off with a halfhearted sharp look, "And I mean ones that aren't bullies who make you their gopher." Letting her arm fall from Sena's shoulders before the two started heading downstairs, Kagome thought out loud, "One of these days, I'm gonna have to introduce you to Haruto. I'm sure that you could make good friends with him."

As they made it to the last step, Sena blinked curiously before asking, "Haruto?"

"Yeah, Sakuraba Haruto" Kagome clarified before explaining how the boy was, "Although he's a year older, I always saw him around the school grounds while I was attending the Middle and Junior High sections of Ojo and we became good friends. I guess another reason why he was friends with me was because I didn't care that he was an Idol..." The younger twin then looked up thoughtfully with a mutter only Sena could hear, "then again... I had befriended him a month after he gained his fame."

Sena smiled at his sister, feeling slightly envious of how quick she can make friends with even a celebrity. 'And knowing her, she'll no doubt get a lot of popularity...' he thought before his countenance turned slightly dark with brotherly protectiveness at his next thought, 'especially with the guys...'

From what Sena remembered while in elementary school, Kagome was very popular in their class and grade, like Mamori was with hers. Not to mention, the boys of their class always tried to get her attention, especially when all they really wanted was to pick on him without her notice.

His mood then calmed a bit at the memories he had with Kagome in elementary school
