Cheeky Angel, Spicy Demon

Chapter One

A single raven colored brow twitched as its owner continued to look into her mirror, staring at the appendages on top of her head, the ones that were connected to the end of her spine; NINE of them actually, and an intricate marking that looked like a blue Spider lily tattoo with a Celtic look on her chest under her collarbone.

The owner of those appendages, Higurashi Kagome was looking at her self to see if her new school uniform was all right on her before her eyes landed on the appendages she got against her will. On top of her head was a pair of large black and white tipped kitsune ears and connected to the end of her spine, under her skirt, was a set of NINE black kitsune tails with white tips.

How did Kagome get these appendages?

For certain... it was DEFINITELY not from the Shikon Jewel. That little bauble just seemed to have disappeared from existence after defeating Naraku. Oh, no, it wasn't the Shikon... it was something different, something deadly to most while also looking quite harmless and delicate at times...

It was a BOOK! A freakin' book that was housing a wish-granting demon that looked like a damned Pierrot!

'And how did I come across such a book?' Kagome asked herself as she put on her Glamour choker, which was a black leather strap with a blue moonstone embedded in it, that she made to cover most of her demonic attributes (minus her sharp canines and the mark on her chest), 'My troublemaking son and brother, that's how!'

It all started weeks after Naraku's defeat and bringing Shippó home with her. Kagome had just arrived home from her last day at her school before she was to transfer. Her mother was out shopping and her grandfather was sorting out some scrolls in the storage shed but Shippó and Souta were inside in the living room. After coming in, she found the two looking through some sort of book that had various pictures of demons in its pages.

"Hey, what are the two of you looking at?" She asked, a bit curious since she had not seen that book in any shelf in the house or storage shed.

"Oh, hey Mama! Souta and I found this book on the way home. It's got some funny-looking demons in it." Shippó answered before Souta agreed and added, "We found it at the station as we were coming home, sis. And Shippó's right, these demons do look funny. The only one that looks a little cool and believable is this one dressed like a Pierrot."

'And since when did he know what a Pierrot is?' Kagome mentally asked, before looking over the two boys' shoulders and found the 'Pierrot' Souta was talking about.

On the page they were on, it showed a humanlike male that looking like a Jester with grayish skin, dressed in red from head to toe with some type of green vestment. And on its waist was what looked like a sword while on the opposite of it looked like a beige bag. Its appearance didn't really bother Kagome but... what she sensed while looking at him... Kagome felt something that didn't feel like a demon aura but it wasn't like any other creature either; the energy wasn't evil but it wasn't good either.

Not wanting to take any chances, Kagome lifted the book up and closed it once it was out of Souta and Shippó's reach. Despite the two boys' complaining and asking why she took it, all she said was, "Not a chance. Now listen, this book's giving me some really weird vibes. And until I find out what it is, neither of you are to even look at this book."

And with that, Kagome left the living room with the book and made her way to her room, up the stairs. After she closed her bedroom door behind her, muffling the footfalls and complaints of her son and younger brother, Kagome looked at the book again, taking in the cover as well as the bloodstains on it.

Just the thought of blood being shed because of the book gave her chills and she found herself at odds, wondering if she should burn it. She skimmed though the book, finding other creatures painted into its pages, many of them where familiar to her, ones she has seen with her own eyes once before.

She sighed. Reaching up she scratched her head. It could just be a harmless old picture book, the blood made from years ago of it being in the world for so long. Who knows, she might be feeling so terrible about it because it's been around since the warring states- There is no way a picture can hurt people- She paused remembering the painter who used his ink drawings to kill people and kidnap a princess...

It might even be possible that he was the one who made this book...

"Nah..." That was impossible. Not to mention how the book was bound together was too modern to have been published during the Sengoku era. She shook her head in disbelief and threw the book over her shoulder, not caring anymore. It gave a soft thud as it landed on her warm bed. "I'm going to take a shower..."

It was during the middle of her shower when she felt a sudden increase of power, before Kagome stopped what she was doing to grab her towel, quickly wrapped it around herself, and just as quickly ran to her room knowing that was where the strong boost of power was coming from.

After opening her door, she found not only her younger brother and son, but also the pierrot from the book; no bigger than a doll and very real. With the sound of some sort of chanted spell and a burst of light, Kagome felt something pulse inside her with a pain all along her spine and in her head. When the pain started to fade with the chant and the light, the miko fell to the floor.

Before going unconscious, she heard the pierrot say something but couldn't really make it out before Souta started to freak and Shippó was beside her calling her name.

'After that, and finding nine tails and a pair of ears on top of my head, I had a long talk with Shippó and Souta...'

Once Kagome woke up, the miko her self freaked once she found out her new appendages before getting some light scolding from her mother about leaving the shower running and being in nothing but a towel. What she found weird was that her mother and grandfather weren't at all surprised about her new attributes.

With her mother gone from her room, she got down to business in having Shippó and Souta spill what happened after she left to take a shower and before she came barging into her room.

Souta couldn't say anything because he was plain scared of any type of punishment his sister would dish out at him but Shippó, not wanting his mother to be mad at him, confessed to everything from him and Souta ignoring her warning because they wanted to look at the book more to Shippó getting a bad papercut and a drop blood landed on a page before the Pierrot appeared. After that, the grey skinned being offered the granting of one wish and Shippó wished for Kagome "to live forever with him". Once it was granted, the results were that she was changed into a demon.

"But Shippó and Souta said that the Pierrot didn't say what kind of demons I was changed into other than 'a hybrid of two breeds that fed off of energy'." Kagome muttered before making her way out of her room with her school bag in hand before thinking, 'I already know that one of the demon breeds I was changed into was kitsune; the ears and tails are a telltale sign and Shippó saying that kitsune thrive off the energy given through physical contact... now all that's left is my other half... and I have no idea what other breed of demon that feeds off of energy.'

The Kitsune part of her wasn't dangerous since Shippó also told her that Kitsune don't feed off of energy from humans very much and only did so to gain power and their next tail. And since Kagome already had the limit of nine tails, she didn't really have to absorb the energy of others just to sustain her.

Kagome thought about getting the Pierrot to come out of the book again but... she did not want to meet the little being face to face, especially when he had the power to change her from a human to a demon without her miko powers basically killing her from the inside out.

Her thoughts were put on hold when Kagome made it to the dinning area and she decided to take some toast to go so she wouldn't be late for her first day at her new school.

By the time she quickly walked to the shrine steps and down them, Kagome was already done with her first slice of toast and was now munching on her second one. Due to her thoughts always leading back to what happened that caused her to physically change from human to demon hybrid, a sour look always appeared on her face as she could hear the catcalls being given to her as she walked passed boys from other schools, to college guys, as well as the young men who were working but she ignored them.

The catcalls were something new after she became a demon hybrid but she soon got used to it quickly because it was probably the result of Kitsune aura attracting them.

As she was getting closer to a crossing, Kagome was stopped by a small group of punks- four them and equally butt-ugly. They surrounded her in a diagonal half circle, saying these bad pickup lines she had heard far too many times in the few short days she'd been changed.

Staring them with annoyed and narrowed eyes, Kagome continued to munch on her toast as it dangled from her lips. When one of the punks tried to lay a hand on her, she gave him an uppercut out of reflex before the others tried attacking her and she took care of them without her breakfast falling out of her mouth.

Once they were finished, she ignored all the gawking bystanders and continued her way to school at a quicker pace while finishing the last bite of her toast.

Getting closer and closer to the school, Kagome picked up her pace through the front gate and to the teacher's lounge. Not seeing a student coming close to walking right next to her, Kagome's shoulder brushed against hers. There wasn't enough force where the student would be pushed to the ground, just a bump between shoulders that would be enough to seem like a nudge to the side.

Despite hearing the complaints and yells of getting her attention, Kagome just ignored her, knowing that she didn't hurt the girl and continued her way to the building so she could get her schedule and start the school day.

After passing out sometime after lunch and on her way to her next class, Kagome woke up to find herself tucked into bed and in a dark room. . Looking around and finding the dark room being the School's Infirmary and that it was dark out, Kagome looked to her digital watch to find how late it is.

Sighing, she slowly got out of the bed and found her bag on the nurse's desk and started to look for her phone to call her mom so she wouldn't worry. 'No doubt she already is... same with Shippó-chan.'

Once that task was done, Kagome carefully made her way to the front entrance, hoping it wasn't locked. She gave a bit of a groan, feeling her hunger coming back and her human glamour slipping. "I might have to jump some punk on the way home. I'm not gonna be able to make it this way..." she muttered, feeling very weak and finding it harder to hold her human guise up.

Although it was true that the spell on her necklace was a means to help her disguise herself as human, the necklace itself was still only an anchor and medium for a spell that absorbed what energy it needed to keep the glamour in place without much concentration.

But with her feeling so worn, the spell had a safeguard of sorts to stop absorbing her energy when her reserves are low. And with this hunger of hers that demanded raw energy as a substance to nourish her... it's hard to do even a little concentration to help boost the glamour to stay on a little longer until she got home.

'Ugh, but I'm so hungry I can't think of anything else...!' The changed miko mentally whined.

As if answering her prayers, Kagome notices someone almost slouched against the wall. Moving closer, she noticed it was one of her classmates, practically passed out and snoring a little.

In her excitement and small bout of luck, her human guise dropped, revealing a pair of large black Kitsune ears on top of her head and nine tails coming out from under her skirt and hovering just above the floor before she tiptoed over to the sleeping boy.

Thanks to the white hair on his head, the black shirt he wore, and the scar he had on the corner of his left eye, Kagome recognized him as one of her classmates who always seems to get beat up by the school's most popular girl, Amatsuka Megumi.

She could admit that despite what most girls said about his looks, Kagome thought that he was quite handsome in his own right with his strength, stamina, and physique adding to his appeal. Not to mention, the way he acts when trying to protect or get Amatsuka-san's attention, he was just plain adorable and a complete sweetie.

Kagome was brought out of her thoughts when her body started to throb from the hunger for energy. Not able to fight it anymore, she let her instincts take over and started to feed, unconsciously feeling her tails wrap around his limbs as she straddled his hips, saying very softly, "Itadakimasu."

Genzo was just sleeping in the hallway, waiting for Megumi to once again come out of the girls' bathroom when his foggy and sleepy mind felt something straddling his legs and something slim and soft wrapping around his wrists, legs, and waist. He then groggily opened his eyes to see a shadowed face with triangular ears on top of their head. Under long raven bangs, he also vaguely noticed a pair of glowing blue eyes. Feeling sleep claiming him again and thinking it's a dream, Genzo dozed off again, never feeling a pair of soft lips touch his or even the hands that held each side of his face.

A night guard for the school was doing his usual runs for the night when he noticed something in one of the halls he was walking. Lifting his flashlight to see what was there this late at night as he made his way further down the hall, the guard soon stopped in his tracks from what he was seeing.

His hand holding the flashlight was shaking at what he was seeing.

In front of him, wasn't the usual 'dead body' that he usually found but...

There on the floor, up against the wall, was the normal black and white haired boy he usually saw but straddling him and with countless tails wrapping around him and lips hovering over his was the slim and female for of a...

'K-kitsune... b-b-b-black kitsune!' the night guard thought, feeling his body start to shake uncontrollably.

And as if the situation couldn't get any worse, the demon female turned her hooded eyes toward him, looking frightening yet seductive but not letting go of the boy in her grasp.

Not wasting any time and not wanting to share the same fate as the boy, the night guard yelled in fright at the top of his lungs, dropped his flashlight and turned tail.

As if the scream was a trigger of sorts, Kagome was brought back to herself, blinking before noticing what was going on. Looking down at Genzo, she sighed, feeling bad that she was taking his energy without his permission but gave a soft apology after saying, "Gochisoosama".

Bring her human glamour back up, Kagome started to quietly leave the school grounds so as not to alert the night guard since he already saw her in her humanoid demon form.

'Not to mention there's a chance that he'll spread a rumor about a Kitsune demon wandering the school grounds at night.' She thought with a sweatdrop as she tried to quickly make her way home.
