Kagome looked at the pictures that hung them on the wall, with vacant eyes.. Pictures of her family at the shrine...of her friends in the past...of a happy her... She had just started living here approximately four months ago but it didn't feel like home. Her home was somewhere unreachable now. It was filled with death and memories she wished to forget.

It has been five years since the well had shut, and she had gone into a spiral of depression. Her family had tried to help out, but they didn't understand. She had thrown herself into learning how to fight and trying to keep her powers strong. They were the only things that connected her to her friends in the past.

Though, that didn't help her with saving her family. A case of carbon monoxide...or so they said. They fell asleep and didn't wake up. Kagome had been wandering around miles away in the forests, surviving. She found herbs, fished and hunted, and lived on the land like she used to. She had spent days on days out there at a time before going home and facing reality once again.

After she had put them to rest, Kagome decided to wander. She went from place to place, never staying in one place too long, but after two years of doing this, she started to pick herself back up and knew that her family and her friends would want her to do something with her life. Not go around not having a home, going place to place.

It is how she ended up in the small apartment, she made ends meet by doing odd jobs and selling her herbal remedies she sold at the open markets in the early mornings. It didn't pay the best, but it was enough to pay for her living here, food and small things here and there. It wasn't the best situation, but she was making progress in trying to live her life.

She made it day by day, slowly crawling her way out of her grief, but she did know she would eventually be all right. She may be a bit fucked up...that she may be scared and her heart in bits and pieces...she slowly was piercing herself back together...the pieces may not fit together like they used to, but they still went together to make a cracked but whole piece.

Closing her eyes, she silently willed herself to push back all the memories and emotions before standing up. She glanced up at the ceiling as the lights flickered on and off, making her frown. That wasn't something normal. The place may not be the best place, but it was decent. It kept power and was mostly clean. It was a little drafty here and that was about it.

Shifting to a standing position, Kagome silently moved through the apartment to the front door. She frowned when she felt something. A shiver went down her spine as she narrowed her eyes, before she slowly let her power lick across her skin, before pulsing and rushing out of her. She let her power see what was going on.

She tilted her head, as she felt something...

primal

bloodthirsty

...hungry...

She knew it was human though. She never felt something like this before. She quickly moved back as she heard loud banging on metal down the hall. She didn't understand.

What was going on?

Kagome took a deep breath, drawing her power back, before she unlocked the door quietly, trying not to make any quick movements. She saw that the hall was dark, with no lights on. She moved her hand to her own light, making the room go dark. She didn't need to draw attention to herself. She let her eyes adjust as she saw a hunched figure throwing herself at a door at the end of the hall.

She heard the woman give out a high pitched shriek before taking off in a different direction in a weird running position. This figure didn't look human, but it felt like it was. Kagome was confused.

She closed the door slowly, before locking the locks and moving back. She stood there for a minute before she started to pace. She didn't know what was going on...but she knew something definitely was up.

Something that was out of the normal.

"What to do..." Kagome muttered as she continued to walk back and forth from one side of the room to the other. She knew she was going to have to figure it out. There was something going on that seemed...supernatural.

Kagome glanced to the corner of the room, where she kept the weapons she had learned to use over the years. A sword, which she learned in memory of Inuyasha...and bow and arrows. She made her way over and grabbed both of them. She quickly faced both weapons to herself, as she put on shoes and pulled her hair back and out of her face.

Kagome took a deep breath and made her way out of her place, closing the door firmly behind her as she looked around her. Her eyes quickly saw the blood patches and smear all across the floor. Her guard was already up, but she knew that she would have to use all her senses right now.

There was definitely something up.

Kagome made her way down the hall, not hearing any movement. Her eyes flickered to the elevator as she passed, it was 'down for maintenance' at the moment. But if the power was flickering on and off, it was safer to take the stairs anyway.
