Chapter Four: Sugar Rush
…
I parked my motorcycle in a decently placed spot and took my bike helmet off before walking towards the front entrance of the beach club.
"Mr. Schwarber. Welcome back." an employee said as I nodded to them.
Being a lifetime member of the beach club had it's perks.
I knew Moon was going as Sam's guest. I imagined Aisha and Tory were not on good enough terms for Tory to be invited as her guest though.
And Aisha was over there with Sam and Moon sure enough.
They stopped muttering the moment I walked over.
"Hey everyone," I said, putting a towel over my shoulder.
Moon smiled for a moment, which I guess wouldn't draw too many questions since she was nice to everyone. Sam and Aisha both looked uncomfortable.
"What?"
"You didn't bring Tory as your guest?" asked Aisha.
"Why would I do that?"
"Isn't she your friend?" Sam then asked.
"Being in the same dojo doesn't mean we automatically get along. You two are getting along okay and you're in Steel Eagle, and you're in Miyagi-Do. So."
Aisha shrugged. "I just imagined after you showed up at our dojo to threaten us. You wouldn't mind having Tory tag along with you everywhere."
Sam nodded, looking like she completely agreed.
"Did you forget the moment where Tory had you on your back against the ground. And I stopped her?"
Sam frowned, looking away.
"Every time I try to apologize it gets worse. Excuse me ladies."
I actually managed to have a nearby lifeguard time my laps as I swam. I had a pool back home and despite it being decently sized, it wasn't necessarily a lap pool like this one.
When I got back to the lifeguard who had the stop watch, it was Daniel LaRusso holding it, not the guy I gave it to.
Daniel looked at the times. "Very nice job. Your mother used to be quite the summer back in the day too."
"She was?"
"Yup. Ali did a semester or two on the swim team right before we met. Listen. I wanted to-"
"Let me guess. Cobra Kai isn't me. It's too hateful. I was taught balance."
Daniel chuckled. "Actually I wanted to thank you for restraining your friend when she attacked Sam."
"Tory was out of line but. I don't think she's to blame for everything going on with her."
Daniel nodded, leaning off the life guard stand. "I was hesitant about you joining Cobra Kai with Johnny involved. But now that Kreese is the only one there I-"
"Hesitant? Oh, you're hesitant, wow. You think I still have to listen to what you say?"
"Look-"
"No." I said. "You look. I don't have to make excuses for Sensei John Kreese. The man you knew has changed into a better version of who he was. He is still Cobra Kai. But what he teaches works."
"To do what Lucas? To accomplish what? I'll admit it. Miyagi-Do is not perfect. Everything is a metaphor. And that metaphor is a metaphor for something else. At your age, I would've gladly picked Cobra Kai over Miyagi-Do in a heartbeat."
I snorted.
"Johnny's karate isn't perfect either. It's still aggression just, without any cruelty. But John Kreese and the karate he created is evil. Don't think you know everything about Cobra Kai. Because you don't."
I actually already knew what he was referring to. The Quicksilver board he was made to smash apart with his bare hands and feet.
"Well, what I do know is enough for me to have made a decision."
"I can't watch over you anymore Lucas. Cobra Kai never helped anyone do anything but hurt people."
I sighed. "The mentor you found in Mr. Miyagi is perfectly appropriate. I won't judge you for it. What you saw in him. I see in Sensei Kreese."
Daniel instantly looked mad. "How dare you-"
"Go ahead. Get mad at a sixteen year old. Why. Would you ever assume that because I am a Cobra Kai. I'm cruel."
"Because even Johnny. As stupid and senseless as he can be. Has enough awareness to know what Kreese is doing."
I smiled. "This is what I've already told you at the tournament. Everyone thinks their way has to be the right one. But that's not the case. My way isn't just Cobra Kai. It's mine. Sensei Kreese is the only one sensible enough to respect me for it."
"Because you're playing his game, Lucas." Daniel insisted. "He needs you to do what he says. To become the person he wants. And when it's too late. You won't even realize what he's turned you into."
"What exactly have I become so far?"
"I have no idea. Now Johnny isn't perfect. But at your age. He was a problem. He did everything you know he did to me. And on top of that, there is a crueler part to Cobra Kai right at its core. That you don't even know about."
I nodded. "Right. That you will never tell me about."
I spoke calmly. "Your dojo's lucky they coincidentally never needed to train at Cobra Kai. Otherwise, they could actually have to know what it's like before saying all this."
"Bobby was a Cobra Kai. I used to be bullied by Cobra Kai too."
"We always strike first. If you were our enemy by now. We would've struck. You have nothing to worry about unless you antagonize us."
"It's shocking."
I shrugged. "What is?"
"You even talk like your Sensei now. He's shaping you into him Lucas. Kreese needs you to become like him. Cruel. Lying. Violent. And psychopathic."
I nodded. "I win two tournaments without you in my corner. I lose my best friend. And I lose a Sensei. I lose two other good friends of mine. If two more people walk from the dojo, we have half a class left. And you think I'm the aggressor in all of this?"
I scoffed, shaking my head and walking past him.
…
The next day I decided to visit Moon before I headed out for practice in a bit.
Moon and I were watching old Simpsons episodes on her TV. We made cereal and vegan style tacos with beans and rice instead of just beef.
I actually brought over some steak. I knew Moon didn't eat any but I still brought it along and she didn't say anything.
She was awesome to hang out with even when we weren't even fooling around at all.
By far my favorite person to be around, whether there was any sex involved or not. Was Moon.
I laid my head in her lap after I finished another refried bean taco with some steak added.
Moon gently caressed my head, running her fingers through my hair, and I sighed. "Got training in a half hour."
"How is that class by the way?"
"Why, thinking of becoming a Cobra Kai?" I grinned up at her.
She laughed. Short shorts and a simple belly shirt, Moon looked great in almost anything.
"Very funny. No I mean do you like it?"
"I love it more than anything. Since you and I started doing. This since yesterday. Cobra Kai's been the only thing that's made sense too."
Moon smiled. "Well I'm glad you have something to be passionate about."
"That's not the only thing I'm passionate about." I smiled.
I turned sideways and started digging my nose into Moon's bare torso exposed from her shirt.
"What?" she asked, sounding a bit annoyed.
"Can we please mess around real quick before I head out? Like super fast."
"No." Moon said flatly.
"Why not?"
"Cause I'm not in the mood!"
I sighed. "Sorry."
"It's easier for guys okay. You're always in the mood."
"What? I'm not. You know I'm not."
I stared blankly up at her and she looked back, frowning.
Moon cleared her throat. "Okay fine. You're not. But you've been way more. No other way to say this, horny, than I've ever known you to be."
I spoke jokingly. "You don't know me."
"I've known you since the summer before freshman year!"
I laughed. "Alright, you have."
A bit later Moon turned over and was lying flat on her stomach as she checked something on her phone and I watched the next episode of the Simpsons quietly.
Because I was bored, and also because this girl drove me absolutely crazy when we were alone together, I placed my hand on her bare leg, directly on her calf.
It was something we had established without words. We were both cool with just touching each other randomly, so long as it wasn't very. Bad or weird or sudden in a way.
She didn't react at all and then I drew my hand up and pulled her short short up slightly.
With a strong but not too strong spank on her perfect bare ass again, Moon looked at me with raised eyebrows. "Did you not hear what I just said?"
"What?"
"Not now Luke."
"But that was fifteen minutes ago!"
Moon was now laughing in surprise. "What do you think we'll actually be able to accomplish in the next few minutes before you have to go?"
"Plenty."
"You are not that fast."
"Moon I'm literally called the flash. That's my ring name for karate."
"Well, Mr. Flash. Even if I was in the mood, which I'm not. You need to not smell like. You know. Me, when you go to your karate class."
It's just called class, or practice or technically training but I didn't correct her.
"But I'll put on some cologne or something."
Moon smiled. "Yeah that wouldn't work. It'd be written all over your face."
"No, it wouldn't."
"Yeah, it would. Trust me I'd be doing you a favor."
I nodded. "Fine."
"Besides we need to be careful."
"Careful how?"
"You almost forgot your headband here. Sam sees that on my nightstand and will actually lose her mind."
"Sam was hanging out with you?"
Moon shrugged. "She was just talking to me about Miguel."
"Needed advice?"
"I was honest with her. That I've never had a boyfriend but she just had to be honest with herself."
I looked at Moon's hair again. She was very very pretty but that hair, its color, I don't know why that was so unique.
Then I looked over at her eyes.
"I'll be honest with you. I think you being a great and supportive friend is like. Really you."
"Thank you."
I checked my phone. "Okay, I do really have to go."
I leaned forward, held her by her gorgeous light brown locks, and kissed her tightly.
I deepened it and Moon pulled away soon after. "Go."
I pecked her quietly with a smirk just to be playful and she spoke firmly again. "Go!"
"Alright, alright I'm going."
"Oh yeah I almost forgot."
I looked at her.
"What you did by taking your shirt off at the All Valley. Not gonna lie. That was great."
"I mean. You're a girl so. And you know-"
"Mm-mm." Moon shook her head. "No. I mean. Our bodies can be an expression. You made a great expression with yours."
"What expression did you get?"
"You didn't care about the dojos at that point. You didn't care about getting disqualified or the trophy. You just wanted to finish your fight with Miguel. No matter what it took. Just all of you against all of him."
"For someone who knows nothing about karate you sure can read me pretty well."
Moon smiled for a second. "It's almost like my specialty."
"Can I come back here after practice and. Get a little bit more of your, other, specialty."
"Depends on how bad you smell."
I laughed. "Okay. I'll see you."
"See you in a bit," Moon said.
…
Practice was actually great.
There was nothing more satisfying than watching Tory's training with me pay off for once. I knew she would never want to admit it worked but the points she got practicing with Hawk, Mia, and Doug were more than proof.
I pulled into Moon's backyard on my bicycle that I only really used exclusively to ride from my house to hers. Hopped off it and laid it gently against Moon's back patio.
I opened the sliding glass door and looked around.
It was very odd how Moon's parents were never home. I did actually meet both of them for a small skit for a Drama class presentation we had to give on a sort of skit night West Valley High had. But still, I didn't complain.
I checked a text Moon had sent me a few minutes prior.
Apparently, she was taking some sort of nap for this kind chakra thing, I didn't object or even know what it was I just did what she asked.
Shower or I will not be happy. Not. Be. Happy.
I was gonna do it any way but I decided not to say anything.
I always kept my phone turned off for that very reason when I was in class or anywhere near Cobra Kai.
My thing with Moon was easily the best part of this summer so far.
…
I had no idea what shampoo to use in Moon's shower in her guest bedroom.
She had a million.
I sighed, none of these made any sense.
Titri. Hemp oil shampoo. These were all holistic non factory made shampoos.
These weren't the regular named brands I used at home. I might as well have spun a wheel and it might've landed on the one I should've used.
I heard the door to the bathroom open. "Hey Moon?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
I took a sigh of relief. "Sorry. I just. Your parents-"
"Trust me. I know when they'll be here. What's up?"
I spoke quietly. "What the hell kind of shampoo am I supposed to use?"
"First. Don't say hell. And for your hair. I don't know. The special blue one, I forget the name but it'll probably work."
"What's wrong with me saying hell?" I asked as I heard Moon use the sink on the other end of the shower curtain.
"It's just bad language."
I turned around and heard the sink turn off and chuckled.
I started laughing very loudly.
"What?"
I heard the shower curtain shove aside behind me. Moon was with me now, as nude as I was.
"You and I have done things with each other a little more mature than saying the word hell. There are far worse words than that. Like ass. And fuck. And-"
Moon smiled very much in embarrassment but still spoke quickly. "Stop. Stop, stop okay I won't bring it up again."
"It's fine. But. Why ask me not to say that?"
"I don't like you being vulgar at all."
"You said the word horny earlier today."
"Only after I couldn't find a better one. Also, it's not that vulgar."
I smiled. "I was gonna shower whether or not you asked me to after practice Moon. Seriously, do you take me for some sort of animal?"
"Sometimes! Yes! Well. I didn't know if you'd lunge right at me with the spear of constant existence after what happened earlier."
I laughed first, and then with her, Moon could basically be funny whenever she wanted to.
"The spear of constant existence?" I chuckled out. "What does that even mean?"
"It means you're always…very happy to see me. Very often."
"What about right now, are you? Happy, to see me?"
The second Moon touched my chest I think my head went blank for a second.
Moon looked blankly at me for a second. "Maybe," she whispered.
Kissing her, and the effect of it, never changed. It happened to feel better than the first time oddly we even kissed too in a way.
She was so pure. So kind. So sweet. Moon was also very hot, a special kind of hot I think. If it burned her sweetness into something. Moon was just caramel.
I listened to our lips clicking apart for a second as I drew myself away from her for a moment.
I listened to the shower nozzle run over us for a moment.
There was no way I could find something this. Something that just made this much sense, that worked this well, on a whim this summer.
I leaned forward and I kissed Moon again. Her breathing changed, I could hear it in tiny amounts as I kissed her on the mouth, kissed her all over.
I lifted her, placed her on the shower wall and panted again, running my hand right along her bare leg. There was only one possible way a human being on this earth could be tanned this well, so perfectly, all over. And it drove me almost insane.
"Luke."
I placed my forehead against hers, panting for a second.
"Luke," she exclaimed. "Luke. Luke!" she cried out breathily but loudly.
Moon suddenly gasped loudly and we became too wrapped up in each other for the next several minutes before we were done in the shower.
…
I wrapped a towel around her and over her head when she exited the shower after me and I held her close.
Moon's smile was different now. Calmer. More satisfied. She was basically always happy but now she looked. Different with me but still happy.
I pressed my hand into those locks of still damp but beautiful and still very unique light brown hair.
I gave her a very quick but tight kiss on the lips.
"You look like a Jawa, or an Ewok with this towel." I laughed. "Cutest thing I've seen in months."
"What's an Ewok?" asked Moon.
"You haven't seen Star Wars?"
Moon shook her head.
"Good news. I know what we're going to do for the next few hours." I said. "You know Luke Schwarber pretty well by now. Prepare to meet Luke Skywalker. One of the best heroes in cinema history."
"Okay Lucas. I'll watch your little. Space war drama."
"You know what it is then?"
"Just never watched it."
I nodded. "Great."
Moon smiled. "We'll watch it but um. You have to do something for me. Go make the popcorn. Afterward. I'll tell you to." she blinked a bit slowly up at me, she was a bit shorter than me but not that shorter. "Do some other stuff afterward."
"What other stuff?"
"Other stuff." she said lightly.
I knew what that meant.
"Am I going to be happy by the end of these three movies?"
"Depends. On how well you do this stuff."
"Alright then."
…

A/N:
Now. Now I'm done for the weekend. Because yeah, I'm really feeling Cobra Kai again. And this fic is starting to click.
