Bruno held the tub with the afterbirth as he exited the nursery quietly he was headed towards the stairs when he heard collective gasps making him turn to see his family had returned and was standing in the center of the courtyard. The younger Madrigals didn't understand what was wrong other than Bruno wearing a red poncho instead of his usual green one.

Pepa, Julietta, and Alma all looked shocked because they knew what the red poncho meant.

"Bruno that's your..." Alma said inquiring about his red poncho and the tub he held up with his other hand that had a bloody towel in it.

"How long has it been since Mirabel's attack?" Pepa asked instantly making Julietta climb the stairs quickly.

"Mirabel?" She called out with worry.

"Julietta, no." Bruno said as he caught his sister by her waist and keeping her from barging into the nursery.

"I have to see her." She cried as her brother held her back.

"Hold on I need to explain something first. So just wait a moment." Bruno said as the rest of the family came up and Casita helped block them. Julietta began crying into Bruno's shoulder making Agustin come up to hold her. He held up one hand as Casita stopped and they all watched him and waited.

"She went into labor yesterday and I saw the signs. It has been a very long night and she hasn't gotten barely any sleep. She is in there resting now so I can only allow you all to go in 2 at a time. So Julietta and Agustin can go in first." Bruno explained but Julietta didn't move at first as her eyes were caught on the metal bucket he held with what clearly is a bundle of bloody meat with a bloody towel over it.

"Its ok Julietta. Its only the afterbirth." He said with a smile.

"And the child?" She asked making the younger ones finally understand what was happening.

"Is a boy and he is thriving, no problems other than a long labor but they both made it, he was able to nurse with no problems and he too needed some rest." Bruno relayed to his family as they all sighed happily.

"Here, I can take the afterbirth and the children can come with me to the kitchen and I will explain. You get back to your patient." Alma said taking the bucket from him and leading the younger generation down to the kitchen where Alma will tell them about his midwifery.

"Ok, then. Julietta and Agustin right this way." Bruno said motioning them toward the Nursery.

Julietta entered the room first she looked to see her daughter laying sideways looking exhausted, wearing a pale green birthing nightdress and sleeping peacefully in Bruno's red sheets and blanket, but right next to her was a small bundle of green blanket holding a sleeping baby. Julietta cried quietly as she came in and Agustin also shed some tears. Bruno stayed to the side as Julietta kissed Mirabel's forehead followed by Agustin.

Julietta cried as she watched her youngest breath evenly filled with ride for her strength before quietly leaving. Bruno watched as 2 by 2 his family all came in to see her sleeping and the new baby Madrigal. Luisa was silently sobbing as Isabela filled the room with gentle flowers and tucked the blanket around her sister they were the 2nd group to visit after their parents. Next came Abuela and Antonio, Antonio set his stuffed jaguar that Mirabel gave him next to the baby after he waved and whispered 'Hi, baby.' Abuela patted Mirabel head before patting his shoulder with a smile of absolute pride and giving him a look that says 'Take good care of them,' which he smiled back and nodded

Pepa and Felix came next, Pepa stayed a distance because she was crying and it was causing a sprinkle but she could see the baby and that Mirabel was fine. Felix decided not to come closer and they just came and saw before leaving after they nodded at him with a thumbs up.

Lastly was Camilo and Dolores. Camillo smiled happily before leaning over and looking at his new second cousin while Dolores brushed Mirabel's hair and silently cried.

Once they all left Bruno got to work packing up his equipment quietly. But then a slight groan caught his ear. He looked over and saw Mirabel curling into herself.

He came over setting his hand on the bed right next to her hips before leaning over to brush her hair from her squinting.

"Mirabel?" He asked fully leaning over her but then a warm wetness was felt on his hand where he was leaning on the bed. He quickly looked down and saw red.

"No," He said worriedly as a splatter sound started and looking down it was running off of the bed pooling on the floor. With as much speed as he could manage he ran out of the nursery door leaning over the banister.

"JULIETTA," He shouted making his sister appear from the kitchen. Bruno held up his blood dripping hand.

"She's hemorrhaging." He screamed as the other family members all joined and saw it. Julietta ran back into the kitchen as Bruno went back to the Nursery. He was quick to pull the blanket off feeling its weight before tossing it aside with a slop, then carefully he rolled her over on her back and instantly saw her wince in pain.

"Bruno?" She said waking up.

"Easy Mirabel. It's ok." He said as he grabbed her bloomers and pulled them off throwing them aside as Mirabel saw him slowly getting covered in blood. Mirabel breathed deeply in fear as Bruno grabbed one of her legs and tossing it over his shoulder as he pressed a fresh and clean thick towel against her and held it there.

Julietta came back into the room and saw her brother covered in blood and holding his hand against her daughters intimacy while having her leg thrown over his shoulder staring at her naked underdress, but here reverie was cut off when...

"Mama?" Mirabel cried out as she saw her mother holding an Arepa.

"Mirabel." Julietta cried coming over to hug her daughter while handing her the magic food.

"I was so scared." Mirabel cried into her mothers shoulder but not moving much.

"I know its ok. Just eat." Julietta said holding the food up to Mirabel who ate the food with gusto. Instantly she moaned peacefully as pain quickly washed away like waves of water brushing over her with gentle warmth and love. She leaned back in satisfaction as she continued to eat feeling her hunger.

"I missed you Mama." Mirabel said.

"I missed you too and I am sorry that I missed your first child. I should have seen the signs." Julietta said apologizing to her daughter while hugging her.

"I didn't notice them either so if you didn't then there isn't much hope for me." Bruno said laughing as he was wiping Mirabel's newly healed body making them laugh too.

"Even so..." Julietta said turning back to Mirabel who finished her food.

"I promise Mirabel. You have never been in better hands." Julietta said to her daughter making them all smile looking in-between each other fondly.

"Bruno is the best midwife in Encanto even if he has been out of practice for 15 years." Julietta said as the man in question was wiping himself off before dropping a mostly clean towel on the floor to clean up the puddle then he carefully pulled off his poncho and his shirt before really cleaning himself.

Mirabel couldn't help but watch as the sight brought her mind back to how he helped her induce her labor more quickly. Julietta instantly saw and as a mother does she knows her own daughters heart. She felt unsure but smiled nonetheless happy that he was here when she couldn't be.

"Julietta?" Bruno said pulling on a fresh red shirt.

"Help me change the bedding?" Bruno said rolling up his sleeves and looking at his sister who nodded. Casita scuttled over a chair to which Bruno laid out another towel as Julietta picked up her grandson which Mirabel watched fondly.

"Ok, lets get you up." Bruno said coming up to Mirabel. She loved it when he did this, he wrapped his arms around her torso and helped her to sit up.

"Nice and easy." He said as Mirabel was getting dizzy. She closed her eyes and hummed into his shoulder.

Bruno chuckled before wrapping his arms under her to help her down he still held onto her like he has been doing to help her stand.

"Up we go." He said gently hauling her up which she was much lighter now, Mirabel only stood for a moment before she got lightheaded and fell forward into his embrace.

"Unnhnhnhn." She groaned happily making Julietta look worried before Mirabel started laughing.

"Okay. Not ready yet. I got you." Bruno said with a smile as Mirabel rolled her head while giggling.

"Ahahah. Isn't moms food great?" Mirabel asked as she felt light headed and completely pain free. Bruno held her close as she tried using her legs but the change from pain and exhaustion to being pain free was like she had just drank alcohol.

"Indeed. it is. I'm glad your feeling better." Bruno said carefully walking her to the chair until Dolores walked in carrying fresh towels and she smiled at Bruno who chuckled at the dizzy Mirabel

"Casita prepared the bath Bruno, go help her get cleaned up and Abuela and I can clean up in here." Dolores said with a smile as Abuela came in shooing away Julietta with the still sleeping baby.

"I put fresh cloths for the both of you in the bathroom." Abuela said with a smile as she and Dolores started changing the sheets and rolling them around the bloody parts. Bruno nodded his head in understanding before he knelt down keeping Mirabel upright before he wrapped his arms under her legs and picked her up bridal style once again. She snuggled into him happily but still tired.

"Thank you." Bruno said as he carried Mirabel out of the door. Isabela and Luisa were there to block from the boys seeing Mirabel covered in blood and they watched as she smiled at them in passing but she was still dizzy. They felt off put but how much blood she had covering her but they knew that Julietta's food had done its job.

He entered the bathroom making Casita shut the door.

Luisa and Isabela nodded at each other before entering the Nursery and they all started talking and planning as they helped clean the room while Camilo and Antonio was pushing the family crib down the corridor heading towards the nursery while Casita scuttled 2 laundry baskets filled with bloody clothes, sheets and towels. while Agustin and Felix were sending out a call for an emergency meeting with the Encanto Men's society.
