I've had this chapter written for the past week, all it needed was some small tweaks here and there but I've been really busy so I haven't been able to finish it.
I've decided to start selling things, I'm going to be selling things I paint, basically, I paint wooden hearts and stars (And more) and then sell them. I need to finish them but if it takes off then it could be a good source of income right?
That's one reason why I've been busy, I've also been recording videos for my youtube channel (Shadow Plays).
I also recently got an MRI done and found out my Limp Noids and Tonsils are a bit enlarged so yeah might need to get those out.
Anyways I'm going to move onto reviews!
(Okay the first review is really long so I'm just going to put the name of the person who sent the review in and respond to it without putting the entire thing in the story)
N. A. Wennerholm chapter 11 . Apr 17
Me: The first part sounds like some good ideas but I might not do that, I kind of just go with the flow when writing. I read a lot of fanfiction myself and some of my ideas come from them but also some of them come from my own brain.
You'll all find out why Lily gave Ember the Power suppression later on in the story, just know it wasn't to hurt her.
If you go back to chapter one and read the bit where Voldemort attacks the twins then you'll see that there's a small line that says this.
"He was unaware that a small peace of his soul had broken off and tried to latch onto the girl, but was obliterated by the leftover magic."
So no need to worry, Ember isn't a Horcrux in this story.
In regards to Lily not correcting her son or James, don't you think that if she could she would? She knew that if she tried to do anything to correct those two then they would blame her daughter and hurt her for Lily "Being different". It's probably happened before when the twins were younger and made Lily scared of making a mistake that could cost her daughter her health.
I do agree that people should accept their wrongdoings, especially nowadays, but I also know that there are different religions with different rules. There's also the fact that some people refuse to realize that they break rules from the bible all the time.
That was the only review I got that had a question in it, so moving on to the story!
Pearl stood at the gate of Peverell manor waiting for the Aurors to arrive so she could let them on the property. Pearl wished that she could have been with her Diamond but she knew that her being here to keep an eye on the Aurors as they looked over the grounds was important, she was proud and honored that her Diamond trusted her with such an important task.
She vowed not to let her diamond's trust be misplaced. Pearl looked up when she heard the tell-tale sounds of several people apparating just outside the gate. Pearl smoothed out her skirt and walked to the gate to open it.
Pearl was disguised as a human so her skin was light brown, her hair was dark brown and her eyes were a simple hazel. Pearl had her hair up in a bun while wearing a pencil skirt, simple high heels, tights, and a dark green blouse.
Pearl opened the gate and stepped out to greet the Aurors.
There was Madam Bones, of course, she was here to help search for the "missing" Potter's daughter, there were two more Aurors with her. One had a heavily scarred face with a fake eye spinning in all directions and a peg leg. Pearl had heard of him, he was called Mad-Eye-Moody, She was thankful that Goblin Glamours were one thing that Moody's eye couldn't see through. Not that he knew that of course, only the Goblins themselves knew it.
The second man had dark skin and wore Navy Blue robes, he had no hair on top of his head so he covered it with a small hat. This man was Kingsley Shacklebolt.
Pearl nodded to both of them, keeping a blank look on her face as she turned to Madam Bones, "Good morning Madam, I am Pearl, Lady Peverell's secretary. I am here to keep an eye on the proceedings and make sure you follow the rules."
"And what rules would those be lassy?" Mad-Eye glared at Pearl with his one good eye, Pearl looked at him with a bored face. "There are two main rules for you to follow, number one do not take anything from the grounds. Even if it's something as small as a pebble you do not take it, everything on these lands belong to Lady Peverell, she made sure to deliver anything the Potter's may have left behind earlier this morning. If you take anything you will be fined and charged with theift."
"The second rule is that you if I tell you to do something then you listen, if I tell you not to touch something then you do not touch it, there are things on these grounds that are enchanted to harm anyone that is not of Peverell Blood or Magic if they touch them. Some will only give you a light zap as a warning while others may harm you severally, this rule is in place to keep you safe while searching the grounds."
Mad-Eye scowled but found that he couldn't argue with the two rules being put into place, it was true that Lady Peverell had a right to stop people from taking something from her lands even if it was a stupid rock. The second rule was something he couldn't find fault with either, sure he hated that there were things in this place that would harm someone if they touched them, a lot of enchanted things that did that were classified as dark after all and made illegal.
Mad-Eye knew though, that if the enchantment was just to keep people that weren't family from touching them then it was legal. It was just an enchantment made to stop others from stealing family heirlooms from others, he couldn't argue against it since he had several things enchanted like that himself.
As long as the enchantment didn't kill anyone then it was safe to use the enchantment on your things.
Looks like he couldn't take something for Dumbledore to use to help track Lady Peverell now. Dumbledore believed that since Lady Peverell wouldn't allow the Potters back into the Manor that she must be living in it instead and he wanted to be able to find out when she was outside of the manor so he could convince her to welcome the Potters back into the family. He also wanted to find out who she was and try to pair her up with one of his followers.
He would probably try to use that death either Snape or Sirius Black to try and get control over Lady Peverell and her seats and vaults.
Pearl let the three Aurors onto the grounds and kept a close eye on them as they explored the manor from top to bottom, she made sure to stop them whenever they went to touch anything enchanted.
She even followed them as they explored the woods, it took the entire day for them to look over the entire grounds, Pearl kept up a professional air the entire time, refusing to answer any personal questions.
Kingsley kept trying to ask her personal questions, he even asked if she would like to get lunch together sometime and chat. Pearl was confused about why so she just ignored the questions and told him that she wasn't interested in getting lunch with him.
Pearl showed the three back to the gate and waited half an hour after they left before she went home, she was tired from dealing with the three Aurors, Madam Bones wasn't that bad but Mad-Eye and Kingsley were a handful.
Mad-Eye with his need to try and cast a spell on everything to try and find out what charms and enchantments were on them, Pearl had to warn him to stop several times until she finally got fed up and told him that if he tried it again then he would be kicked off of the lands.
Madam bones apologized for Mad-Eye and gave him a look that screamed they would be talking later.
She was annoyed with Shacklebolts constant questions and following her around, she refused to go to lunch with him several times before she took to just ignoring the guy.
Pearl sighed as she walked into the manor's living room before she smiled at the sight. Jasper and Ember were both on the couch cuddling, it looked like they fell asleep not that long ago.
Pearl gently extracted Ember from Jasper's arms and carried her to her room, tucking her into bed. She sat down on the edge of the bed with a small smile, moving the hair out of Ember's face before she got up and left.
Earlier that day with Ember and Jasper.
Ember and Jasper waved Pearl off to her day of babysitting three full-grown magical Aurors as they searched the grounds of Peverell Manor. Ember had a feeling that Pearl wouldn't be back until late at night so she decided to take Jasper to Gringotts to get a few things taken care of.
She decided to make Jasper her magical and mundane guardian. She would still be seen as an adult in the eyes of magic and the law but having Jasper as her guardian made it so no one could claim she was being irresponsible. This also made it impossible for the Potters or Dumbledore to try and get custody of her, in the magical or muggle worlds.
Ember made sure to get a contract drawn up saying in basic terms that Jasper would not take advantage, control, or harm her or her stores. Ember made sure that it said in the contract that training was not harmful and would be allowed.
She also asked the goblins to make Jasper and Pearl muggle and magical identities with full backgrounds, this way when Dumbledore found out who Ember was and tried to get custody of her he wouldn't find it strange that neither of her girls had no backgrounds.
She also asked the Goblins to hire her some more tutors, she wanted to be prepared for Hogwarts, she had heard it was the best magical school in the world and while she doubted that was true she still wanted to be sure that she would not be left behind.
Ember also needed to figure out if she wanted to reveal herself as Lady Peverell or not. If she decided to hide it then she could use the Lady Ravenclaw title instead. This way people would still be aware that she was an adult in the eyes of lady magic and the law.
She put that thought out of her head, she still have a few more years until she needed to worry about that. For now, she was going to go grab Jasper and teach her a few more board games.
The next day
Ember sat down at the breakfast table and smiled at Pearl, "How did everything go yesterday?" Pearl groaned in response. "That made huh?" Jasper eyed Pearl as she sipped her coffee from a special mug that Ember had made for her.
"It was awful, Madam Bones wasn't bad, she was really polite, listened when I told her she couldn't touch something and didn't ask many personal questions."
"And the others?" Ember asked between bites of her breakfast.
"Well turns out the other two Aurors that Madam Bones brought with her were Mad-Eye-Moody and Kingsley Shacklebolt."
Ember winced in sympathy for Pearl needing to deal with Mad-Eye.
"Exactly, Mad-Eye kept trying to cast spells on everything, he only stopped when I finally told him that if he kept trying to cast spells on things then he would be kicked off of the grounds and not allowed back in."
"Madam Bones apologized for him and I could tell they would be having a long talk later, Shacklebolt was the worst though."
"Wait, how was he worst than Mad-Eye?" Ember asked surprised.
"He kept asking me these really weird personal things, he also kept asking me to have lunch with him despite me saying no several times. He kept following me around the grounds all day, if I walked to Madam Bones to chat with her and see how things were going then he would be a few feet away just staring at me while acting like he was looking around."
Ember frowned and clenched a fist, Pearl was still so innocent in a lot of ways, and being hit on was one of those ways. Despite what almost happened she still didn't know much about romance in real life, she didn't even read romance books often.
It was no wonder that she didn't realize that Shacklebolt had been trying to hit on her and ask her on a date, he should have accepted her saying no the first time though. Instead, he kept bugging her and practically stalked her the entire day, Ember would need to keep an eye on Kingsley Shacklebolt in the future.
"Anyways, enough about me, what did you two get up to yesterday?"
"Our Diamond realized that you and me still didn't have proper legal IDs so she dragged me to the bank to get that sorted out."
Ember huffed, "That's not all that happened, Jasper! I made Jasper my magical and muggle guardian, all it really means is that she's the first one people need to contact if I'm hurt in anyway and she'll be able to make decisions for me if I'm unconcious."
Ember looked at Pearl with a sheepish smile, "I would have made you both my guardians but you would have needed to sign the paperwork at the same time as Jasper and I wanted to get it done as soon as I could, you never know when something could happen."
"I understand My Diamond, I'm glad you chose Jasper anyways."
"Wait really?" She asked surprised.
"Why yes, I'll admit I'm a bit small and soft looking, even when I use the glamour, if someone was determined to get to you they would try and walk all over me, but with Jasper they need to be more careful since she's clearly bigger and stronger than most people."
Jasper smirked at that, "I dare anyone to try and get to our diamond without going through me first!" She then broke a chair by grabbing it too hard and started apologizing frantically to Ember who was laughing hard. Pearl watched on while giggling when Bippy popped in and fixed the chair with a snap of her fingers and then lectured Jasper on being more careful.
Just another day in the Slytherin Manor.
