"What are you doing, Shirou-sama?"

Slowly, he shifted his gaze to the right. Shirou shivered as two red eyes appeared to shine from the darkness. Those eyes, that voice he already knows who owns them. Dammit.

He was making sure that no one woke up. Shirou was even walking on tiptoe. But his E-rank as usual betrayed him once again.

"ummm… going to my bed?"

"We both know what I'm talking about, Emiya Shirou-sama" She stepped forward. The moonlight shone down on her, revealing her figure. Nowhere can be found her usual apron. Sella was wearing her night clothes, to be exact her yellow pajamas. In Shirou's opinion it was cute. No, it was not the time to be distracted.

Sella hardly ever used his full name, and when she did, she was furious. Not only did he arrive late, but he also did not call, which must be the source of Sella's rage.

"So, Shirou-sama, why are you late?" She was smiling, and yet Shirou couldn't stop feeling scared. Quick, think of any excuse.

"I joined a club," Shirou said quickly. Sella gave him a brief glance. Her rage appears to have subsided slightly.

"And what club is it?" Shoot! What club should I say?!

"Kendo and Archery club"

"I see… you joined two clubs. So, that's why you are late."

"Yes" Shirou took an inward sigh. Thankfully, Sella believed him. If not , he don't know what kind of storm would hit him at that moment.

"I'm sorry for doubting you, Shirou-sama" She apologize

"It's ok, Sella. I will go to my room now and sleep."

"Wait before you go Shirou-sama your," Sella looked at him, her eyes squinting at his clothes.

"My what?"

"Your uniform its different, its size is off by few millimeters, I can't also see the small abrasion near the bottom, and more importantly it doesn't have your smell"

"Wait, what do you mean my smell?! You know my s-"

"I am the one asking the question Shirou-sama." Instantly Shirou shut his mouth. The last thing he wants is to get Sella angry again. There is more danger to it rather than waking up all the people in their household.

"I -" Sella raised her eyebrows. "My uniform got wet from practice so one of the members of the club let me borrow their uniform. Saying that I should change my clothes before I catch a cold."

"Hmmm… I see" she said "I'm sorry for taking your time again, Shirou-sama. You can go to your room now."

Shirou wryly smiled at her.

"But if I discovered that you are lying. You know what will happen right?"

"I understand, Sella, and good night."

"Good Night, Shirou-sama"

Sella won't like it, if she ever discovers what happened to me.

Here he was standing inside the student council room. Multiple eyes were looking at him. Their stares are getting him uncomfortable especially since he always spent time in this room and practically almost knows everyone in the room. Apart from the blond boy beside him, as far as he knows he is a new member of the student council room. However, that information is irrelevant at the present.

In the center of the room, the very familiar Sona Shitori is sitting behind her table, staring at him hard, her hands intertwined, blocking half of her face. Contrary to what people around him believe, Shirou is not that dense. He can clearly see Sona's distress.

She took a very deep sigh. "Before we start, I want to apologize to you. If we didn't let the stray escape. You will not be in your position right now."

He raised his eyebrows. They are apologizing? "What are you saying? I should be thanking you for saving me. Without you I would be dead" again.

"As expected from you, why can't you be selfish? Emiya-san"

The tense atmosphere around the room dispersed. Subsequently, the members of the council took a deep sigh, taking a more relaxed posture than before.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Nothing," she shook her head, a small smile creeping into her face. "So you must be curious about last night"

"Yes, what do you mean by stray and me being devil?" Shirou checked his body before going to school, but there were no signs of him being a devil, such as horns, sharp teeth, or wings. Apart from his body finally being able to use magic without any drawbacks, he appears unchanged. So, what made Sona tell him he'd become the devil? Is it because of the dream I had after I died?

"What you fought last night is what we called devil as stray," she said, taking a teaching posture. Shirou laughed to himself just seeing her take the same pose that Tohsaka used while explaining to him during the grail war reminded him of his old world. "They are reincarnated devils who escaped from their master, usually for selfish reasons."

"I see…" So there are some sort of servants that can go against their master. This is getting me some very nostalgic thoughts. "You mentioned reincarnated devils, is that what am I now? Did you use a spell to that? "

"You can say that, but it's not that simple," he raised his brows. "First, we used something called evil pieces to reincarnate you as a devil so you could be part of my peerage." Sona explained.

Instead of understanding it, Shirou is far more confused. It's not like Sona failed to explain it properly, Shirou just really doesn't understand what she just said. He initially believed that they had simply used very powerful spells to turn him into a devil, but Sona also added some evil pieces and peerage into their conversation. Those things confused him even more. His expression is probably amusing right now as he tries to comprehend what she just said

"I guess you don't understand it." Sona said,

"No, no, I understand it," Shirou waved his hands frantically "It's just what these things you called evil pieces"

"Oh, I'm sorry I forgot to explain it," she let out a wryly smile "First, peerage is led by a high class devil which is also called the "King'' together with his servants'' she took another pose which Shirou called Shitori teaching pose number three. "Due to the war between the devils, angels, and fallen angels, as well as the fact that a Civil War broke out a hundred years ago, many pure devils were killed, and as a result, devils desperately started to gather servants. However, even with normal birth, growing a population would take a hundred years, and devils have a low birth rate" She explained "Now, that leads us to use a system to form a group of soldiers called Evil Pieces."

"Evil piece?" Just hearing the name of it sends bad signals for me. I hope that name doesn't have any literal meaning.

"Before you go to any conclusion, Emiya-san, please let me explain first what Evil Pieces are," she said before Shirou thought about anything.

"Devils with Peerage decided to use the traits of the human's game "Chess" to their servant devils. Since then, Chess has become a popular game in the underworld. However, let's not digress." Sona took teaching pose number six as dubbed by Shirou. "Devils who are masters are [KING]. In this case that's me" She pointed to herself. "Starting there, they created five special traits that consist of [QUEEN, [KNIGHT]. [ROOK, [BISHOP]. This system was made a few hundred years back and unexpectedly, this system became popular amongst devils."

"Popular? I thought that you just used this system to grow your population."

"You're correct on your assumption however devils started to compete against each other. For example, like, "My knight is stronger" or "No, my knight is clearly stronger." Now, that resulted into a game of chess using the high class devil's servant. We called this game 'Rating Games'. These games became so popular that they are even a tournament for it. The strength of the [Piece] and the King itself affect the outcome of the game and more importantly the social standing of a devil and his peerage. There is a thing called [Piece Collect] where they gather human with talents and make them into their [Pieces]"

Shirou paused for a moment. Sona basically stated that devils form a peerage by using "Evil pieces," which are synonymous with chess pieces. When he thinks about it, the concept reminds him of a grail war. The servants have their own classes, but instead of heroic spirits, they use reincarnated devils in a game called "Rating game."

"So, you are saying that I became a devil because of these evil pieces?"

"Essentially," she replied, "but before you think anything, Emiya-san, please let me tell you that if there is anything that can save you during that time other than becoming a member of my peerage, I would use it." Especially, since you are not supposed to be part of any peerage. There is no hesitation in her eyes, all you can see is the determination and the truth in her words. Very fitting for her position" You really are a good student council president, Shitori-san.

However…

He looked at Sona's eyes, not breaking a contact for a second.

"Just to be clear, Shitori-san, you don't force anyone in here to become a part of your peerage, right?" He emphasized her name. Sure, he trusts Sona, but he needs to be certain.

She shook her head "No, I didn't force anyone"

"I see…" he relaxed his posture "Then that's good" He looked around. It's clear now all the people inside the student council room are devils. Even without his sense of smelling he can feel it. Maybe it's because I became a devil too. "Since I became your servant, what am I going to do now?" Shirou asked her.

She jolted up. Sona was clearly waiting for Shirou to ask her many things but he only asked how he became the devil and if she forced anyone in her peerage. No, it can't be that easy. Especially since Shirou just died. She shook her head, if it involves Shirou it's better not to think about it deeply. She needs to answer his question first.

"We devil's need to increase our rankings or prove our strength. Since I am not mature enough to enter Rating games. We do other ways to increase my peerage rank" She explained.

"We mostly fulfill contracts with humans," Sona gave a leaflet towards Shirou. At glance, the paper seems just like an ordinary advertising paper you can see part-timers handling towards pedestrians. However, there is a faint magic circle drawn in its back, and base from what Shirou is smelling; it's mostly functioning. "These days there aren't many people who would draw a summoning circle to summon us. For obvious reasons, " He nodded to this. "So, we give these leaflets to people who would likely summon a devil. We use our familiars to distribute these leaflets in different parts of the city. Of course, these magic circles are safe and easy to use."

Shirou looks at her wryly, all he can see is Sona being an advertiser trying to sell her product.

"Can this request be of anything in particular?"

"We can all make requests but the payment should be equal to what they are wishing for. We also do not accept requests to harm others."

That is good they don't harm others. Even with being a devil Shirou doesn't want to harm others. It goes against his principle and the opposite of what his dream is. Now, he thinks that what the devils are doing is very familiar.

"So, basically you are like a yakuza?" Being with Taiga and Raiga-jii, who is literally the boss of the Fujimaru group, made him know some things that yakuza do.

"No, we are not like yakuza, Emiya-san," She said flatly "We don't harass our customers."

Shirou let out wryly laughter. Clearly embarrassed from what he just said.

"Now that I explained to you what devils are and what we do, let me introduce myself once again" She straightened her posture. The aura of her change, adapting a more formal tone to her actions. "I am Sona Sitri, the next head of the Sitri house welcomes to you my peerage and to the student council." The remaining student council members form a line side by side. "Please introduce yourselves."

"Hello, I'm Tsubaki Shinra, Queen. Nice to meet you."

"Momo Hanakai, third year, Bishop." She bowed.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Reya Kusaka also third year, Bishop"

"Tomoe Meguri, I'm in my third year, nice to meet you! I'm a knight."

"Nice to meet you, I'm rook, Tsubasa Yura, also in third year."

"Genshirou Saji, a third year, nice to meet you, I'm a pawn."

He took a deep breath "Emiya Shirou, I'll be in your care from now on" He bowed to them.

"Since you are still new, Emiya-san. Your job will be handling these fliers" Once again he looked at the paper. "So, I just need to deliver these papers around the city?"

"That is correct, but we will also show you how we hunt stray devils," She looked at him. Since now that the introductions are over she can finally ask questions. Not questions, only one question. She is not that greedy to ask that many even if she is a devil.

She's looking for more reaction from Shirou, but all she's gotten is genuine curiosity about what happened and how he became a devil; there must be more to it. Even if she tries not to think about it too much, she is simply too curious. Shirou is all too familiar with this type of situation. "However, before we get there,"

Shirou raised his eyebrows.

"Emiya-san, you seem to be too accepting of what is happening around you?" There is genuine concern in her voice. The one you can find in your friend whenever you've done something very troublesome.

"Hmmm… compared to what I've seen before this is like a cakewalk" Getting stabbed in the heart, cut in half by an axe stone by madden hercules, fighting your future self with your dream in line, and fighting the strongest heroic spirit with fake swords. Yep, turning into a devil is a cakewalk.

Sona raised her eyebrows from his statement. As far as she knows Shirou should not be acquainted with any kind of supernatural or remotely similar to it. So, why did he say that? Just by spending time with Shirou made him more mysterious than he is supposed to be. He should just be a normal human attending their school. Maybe he is just joking when he said that it is just a cakewalk.

"I see… then I will go to smaller details about what you need to do."

A figure can be seen jumping from rooftop to rooftop in the buildings. Said figure was also navigating these structures as if he was looking for something. As he jumps to another rooftop, a cold breeze blows across his face. He came to a halt on one of the edges, surveying the horizon of countless lights before pulling a device from his pockets. The monitor displays a map of the town he is in as well as several blinking red dots.

Shirou sighed deeply before taking off again. Reinforcement really worked wonders in his body. He'll probably fall down in one jump if he doesn't have it.

Sona has ordered him to hand out these leaflets in one of the towns around the city. While on it she also explained that in order for the magic circle to activate a human with strong greed must wish while holding this in their hands and then, we devils will be summoned before then.

Upon finding where the red dot is pointing. Shirou descended and stuffed the leaflet into the house mailbox. He then proceeds to the next closest destination and repeats the process. Over and over again. It was repetitive but Shirou found it not that hard. He just wished that there must be a faster way to do it. Maybe I can just shoot leaflets with my bow and arrow to their houses?

Then he thought back to the days that led to him handling these leaflets out.

First, they gather in the school at night. This is because devils draw their power from the night. It can also be said to be the opposite during the day, because devils are so powerful at night that they feel weak in the morning.

Devils hate light. The stronger the light is, the more lethal it is to the devil's bodies.

It is poisonous to devil's body as confirmed by Sona. But when Shirou said that he didn't feel any weakness under the light. Sona let out a perplexed face. Yes, it's true that light is poisonous to them but they will eventually adapt to it. However, in Shirou's case he already adapted to it, making her surprised. As per Sona's words "That is surprising, but still normal."

While on it, Shirou also discovered that the academy is Sona's territory together with one other person. She didn't say the other person's name saying that he will eventually know who it is, however Shirou has some guesses who it could be. Basically, the higher persons of the academy have ties with devils so they cannot easily oppose the House of Sitri.

So, it's not only because Sona is the student council president that they can't enter the academy at night but also because she is one of the ones that owns it. Talk about convenience.

On the other hand, no police or pedestrians seem to pay attention to him since he became the devil. Nobody is asking why he is putting leaflets in mailboxes throughout the neighborhood. It's obvious that no one can easily detect his presence.

Shirou has been delivering these leaflets every day, but the lights on the device seem not to end. Those lights represent humans with strong greed. Apparently, once you make a wish it can turn into an addiction to wish for other ones.

Making contracts is limited to night. That's because devils can only work at night. Meanwhile, daytime is time for Angels and God. Even Though he is not really that religious you can even say that he is an atheist Shirou can see it very fitting based on how they portray each other through the history.

The leaflets can only be used once, so once they use it they will need another one if they want more. It was a perpetual cycle of giving leaflets and granting wishes.

Well thanks to it, Sona and her peerage don't get out of job and continue to be active. Due to that they are also increasing their point as devils.

It seems that you can also be acknowledged by the rulers of the devils and increase your rank. According to Sona, there are currently four great satans ruling the underworld, their names are; Sirzechs Lucifer, Serafall Leviathan, Ajuka Beezelbub, and Falbium Asmodeus. The acting head of the group is Sirzechs Lucifer making him the King of Devils. Shirou wonders how powerful is the King of devils because of how the devil seems to prioritize strength. Their leader must be super strong.

On a certain day, just after the school hours ended. Shirou was called into the Student Council Room. Inside the room, nowhere can be found the usual bright room. The windows are blocked off by black curtains. The only acting source of the light is the candles meticulously spread around the room.

Shirou scanned the room. The student council members were already present when he entered the room. He sweatdropped, he got called in and Shirou apparently got late.

"Am I late?" He asks, hoping that he is not.

"No," Sona shook her head "You're just right in time." she said. "Can you please guide him, Tsubaki."

"Yes, kaichou," Tsubaki replied, "please go to the center of the circle."

Shirou followed her direction. Standing inside the circle, he scanned the magic circle drawn on the floor. Shirou raised his brows. It was the same magic circle drawn in his toolshed, and the same circle where he accidentally summoned a saber. 'Is this circle for summoning'.

"Good work, Emiya-san. Your work of giving leaflets is finally over" she congratulated him. The student council members clap. Shirou doesn't know how to feel about what is happening right now. All he did was just give a leaflet. "Now, we'll move on to the actual job of the Devil. The contract you will be going to do is very easy, so I expect you to finish it without a problem."

"Before that can you explain to me how you managed to give so many leaflets in so little time" Sona was perplexed by how many leaflets Shirou managed to distribute. Not even Genshirou, her new pawn or Tomoe managed to give that many. Yes, devils have enhanced strength and speed, which can help them travel, and they also have wings, but she is certain Shirou has no idea how to summon them. He doesn't even have a bike so how can he do that? It's not like he just threw them that right? She shook her head, Emiya-san wouldn't do that.

For a moment, Shirou stops thinking. How can I explain it without sounding insane? He takes a sigh, well here we go I hope they don't laugh at me. "I jump from rooftop to rooftop then deliver the leaflets"

All eyes were drawn to him at once. They are staring at him as if they have just heard something insane. Not that they are incorrect; it just seems like it should not be possible at least at the moment.

Sona looks at him, appraising him for any lie. Shirou just let out an awkward smile due to her stare.

Did she just hear it right, Shirou just jumped from rooftop to rooftop. No, she must be hallucinating. However, her logical side is screaming at her that whatever she hears is the truth. It's a fact that Shirou has enhanced strength and speed since he became a devil. However, it's not supposed to be powerful that he will be able to just randomly jump from rooftop to rooftop, and hand over that many leaflets at once. Maybe Emiya-san has sacred gear? But based on their findings he should not have any. He also does not exhibit any sign of it.

"That's bullshit" The one who breaks the silence is Genshirou Saji. He and Shirou didn't have that much interaction because unlike before he had no reason to talk to him. Just like the others, he was also baffled by what he heard from Shirou.

"Your language, Genshirou-san," Hanakai scolded him "However, what you just told is really surprising, Emiya-san"

"Just to be sure you don't have any sacred gear, Emiya-san"

"What is sacred gear?" he asked. I heard it from that man who almost killed me, but what really is it?

"I see… I guess that answers it" she looks disappointed and relieved? "We need to talk about this later, Emiya-san"

"Yes, Shitori-san," He replied.

"Its Kaichou not Shitori-san in here, Emiya-san"

"Then, please call me Shirou then"

"I couldn't possibly…" Shirou raised his eyebrows "fine, if thats what you want"

Tsubaki proceeds on what she was doing before. She casted something, then the magic circle starts glowing with blue and white color.

"Please stay steady, E - Shirou. Tsubaki is inserting your carved seal into a magic circle."

The magic circle drawn on the floor apparently represents the seal of "Sitri House ''. In simple terms it's like a family crest. For people who are trying to summon them, and for people who want to form a contract this sign represents their symbol.

The activation of the demonic powers are related to this.

Genshirou and others also have these signs carved in their bodies, albeit in different sizes and located at different parts of their bodies. It operates whenever they use their demonic powers.

"Shirou, please give me your hand," Sona said.

Shirou put his hands forward. She grabbed it, then wrote something in his hands using her fingers. Is she writing another magic circle?

Then, suddenly his hands suddenly start glowing with the same colors as the magic circle below.

"This will allow you to instantly transport to the client's location by making you go through the teleportation-type magic-circle. After you are done with the contract, it lets you return to this room."

Shirou looks at his hands, flipping it several times. The magic circle in his hands is like a round-way ticket to go in and out in his client's place. Just by hearing it, Shirou can't stop thinking how amazing it is. If Tohsaka is here, she will probably drool and ask how it works.

"It's ready, Kaichou," She said, while stepping out of the circle. "Please stand still in the center"

The circle then begins to glow brighter. Shirou could feel the power flowing beneath him. Similarly to how he uses his magical energy when tracing. The magic from the magic circle appears to begin synchronizing with his magic circuits.

"The magic circle is already responding to the client. You will be teleported to that location now. I already gave you a manual on what you will be doing after you teleport right?"

"Yes"

He could feel his heartbeat going fast. It was his first job, so he must completely finish it properly. Now even Sona said that she is expecting him to properly do it.

The magic circle started to glow even stronger.

Blue and white lights began to rise from the magic circle. Same lights covered his body one by one. Due to how bright the light is Shirou unconsciously closes his eyes. Though, he even can't see it, he could feel that the energy coming from the magic circle is accliming into him. One by one those energies connected to him. One moment then he will be in his client's office.

Then it broke off. The connection between the circle and him was close and shattered. All of the lights that had been covering him faded into the darkness.

He opened his eyes, it was not his hallucination. He didn't manage to teleport. Shirou looked at Sona. She looks troubled, her brows meeting each other. While Genshirou is looking at him with pity and understanding?

"Shirou" Sona called him

"yes"

"It seems unfortunate, but it seems that you won't be able to teleport to your client's location."

"And why is that?" Shirou certainly knows how the magic circle reacted to him. But He needs to know why it happened.

"Magic circles don't require that much demonic powers… It's a feat that any devil does. Even children. Transportation through the magic circle is the first and the easiest step of becoming a devil"

His shoulders slump; he already knows where this conversation is headed.

"In other words, Shirou. You have a very low demonic powers that even the magic couldn't respond to it"

He took a depreciated sign.

Seeing this one of the student council members comforted him "Don't worry, Emiya-san. We already had a case with that, '' Kusaka said while looking at Genshirou. Hearing his name suddenly, his face suddenly got red.

"I already got past that," Genshirou protested. So that is why he is looking at me like that earlier.

"We are in trouble, Kaichou. What should we do? Unlike Genshirou-san who took many tries before the magic circle reacted to him" He look at Shirou "I think that method won't work Emiya-san"

She pondered for a moment.

"I hate to say this but since there is a client you need to go, Shirou"

"Ok" He replied.

"I know that it must be hard but it must be done. Please forgive me if you're going to go there alone. If you want there's a bike downstairs you can use to get to the client's location."

"It's ok, Kaichou. There's no need to lend me the bike. Besides, it's my fault that the magic circle won't work" he said "I just need to go there fast, right?" Shirou asked.

"Yes, it's a devil's job to make a contract. We can't make humans wait."

She looked at his determined face. She is not saying it, but Shirou feels he should hurry now. Based on what she just said they must not let the humans wait.

"Then I will be going. '' He planted his foot forward. Prana flowed through his body. He turned on half of his circuits; if he needed to get there quickly, he needed to expend this much energy. Unlike in the past, where even a single activation of his circuit could have a large drawback. This time, he felt more energy than ever before. He was confident that with this much energy, he would arrive at his client's location in a quarter of the time required. It's ironic that he's grateful he became a devil because his body instantly adapted to the mana in the air.

Shirou nods at Sona before jumping in the window.

Suddenly, a strong gust of wind knocked the fire from the candles.

The previously dimly lit room was replaced by the light of the moon as the curtain fell. Everyone was taken aback. They are on the third floor, and someone they know has just jumped out the window. Nobody can blame them for being surprised.

Yura and Meguri rushed to the window where Shirou had just jumped out. But all they see down there is an empty yard. They exchanged glances, clearly confused as to where Shirou could be.

"I may hallucinating, but did Emiya just jumped out through the window" Genshirou ask

"You are not the only one, Genshirou-san" She could practically feel it, her hair getting white. In the small time that Shirou became devil he had brought more mysteries than he was while human. Him jumping from rooftop to rooftop, and now jumping through the window. Sona will make sure to have one-on-one talk with him, whether he wants it or not.

It seems that traveling through rooftops would be common to him, not that he can complain. It is the fastest route that he can take to go to his client's place. Especially since he can't teleport using the magic circle. Shirou hopes that he can increase his demonic powers. Even with reinforcement it's not like he can't teleport instantly, so he must learn to increase his demonic powers in order to avoid any complaints from his client. Since the name House of Sitri is also in the line whenever he makes contracts.

While in the air, his nose picked something up. He moved his eyes where his nose told him. There was nothing there, but he is surely picking something up, something magical. Without messing up, Shirou reinforced his eyes.

He took a sigh. Just as he reinforced his sight, he saw a familiar. I guess they're worried about me. Sona, his master, is the owner of the familiar he saw. There's no doubt about it: the familiar smells exactly like her. He smiled briefly at it before speeding up to get to his client's location faster.

Far away from where Shirou is, in the council room. Sona is watching him as he jumps from rooftop to rooftop. She was surprised, as Shirou instantly found where her familiar is. She made sure that it would not pick up instantly, but he instantly found where it was. Sona squinted his eyes. The nerve of that guy, did he just smirk at me. She let out a dark smile. It's already been going for a long time, Shirou is always teasing him trying to be mysterious. Even from the very first day, he always has that teasing smirk. No, this time she is going to tease me. Just as you watch, Emiya after you get back you won't get away from me.

"I guess he is really not lying." Tsubaki said curiously, looking at the screen showing Shirou. "Are you sure that he has really low demonic powers?"

"Yeah, Kaichou. For me that is not someone who has low demonic powers" Tomoe said. In her eyes Shirou is going much faster than what his demonic powers are supposed to show.

"I know… but for the magic circle to not react him other than not having enough demonic powers" Sona trailed off "There must be something on Shirou that block the magic circle"

It was the only logical conclusion she could reach. It's not like Shirou is a stray magician. The possibility of that is very low considering what his family is. She kept an eye on him as he moved away from her familiar's vision. She is unable to keep up with Shirou's current pace. Yes, she knows where Shirou is going, but it is better for him to have privacy while on his first contract, after all, it is his first.

Shirou finally vanished from her familiar's sight, and she sighed deeply.

He squinted, one more jump and he'd be at his client's location. Shirou dissipated some of his magical energy, slowing his pace. He strengthens his legs as he descends from above. At that height legs could shatter on impact. Then his feet finally touched the ground, causing dust to spread in all directions.

Thankfully, he didn't receive any damage. Shirou is hesitant; even with his reinforcement, he never descended directly into the ground. Unlike when he is delivering leaflets, he would first look for a safeway to go down.

Slowly, the dust dissipates showing Shirou's figure. "Good Evening, I'm an errand from the house of Sitri. Is this the house that summoned us."

A scrawny old man stands in front of him. He's in his sixties, with a shovel in his hands and a ruined greenhouse behind him. The old man was staring at him as if he were a ghost.

"Boy, Don't scare me like that" he took a deep sigh "I'm too old for that."

It seems that only their client can hear them. During work, a special demonic power is activated and it won't cause trouble for those who are not involved. As explained by Sona. Goodness I can still imagine her teaching pose number six by just remembering contract works.

"I never expected a devil to descend from the sky just like an angel. But to be sure you are a devil, right? After all you did not appear in some kind of a magic circle."

"I'm sorry for scaring you," Shirou scratched the back of his head. It's his first client and he already scared him "but yes I'm a devil. I'm kind of new and I don't have a lot of demonic powers, so I can't appear in a magic circle."

"I see…" Shirou is thankful, as the old man seems not to be judgmental. "But you are still going to the contract right?"

Shirou nodded.

"Well then let's go. We don't have enough time" He said, throwing a shovel to Shirou.

"You needed to help me fix this greenhouse tonight" Shirou returned his gaze to the ruined greenhouse. When he saw it, he had only one thought. It was impossible to repair it in a single night. Nonetheless, the old man appears determined to repair the greenhouse. Even though it appeared to be impossible, Shirou, as the devil, had to fulfill part of his contract.

Shirou took out his devil portable device and started typing the old man's wish. Since he only wishes to rebuild a building the price is in a more acceptable range. Shirou showed what the price was, and the old man nodded.

He gripped the handle of the shovel.

'Trace on' he whispered.

Shirou activated a part of his magic circuit letting the energy flow through his body and into the shovel. It was a simple reinforcement for the rusted shovel to work efficiently. Shirou approaches the other tools they are going to use then reinforce it too. For what they were about to do, it was necessary.

This night is going to be a long night.

Fortunately, he has prior experience repairing this type of structure; otherwise, it will take twice as long to complete. But that doesn't mean he wasn't tired. Just repairing a completely collapsing greenhouse in prim and proper, seemingly brand new condition would be taxing on anyone even considering magic.

But looking at it now, their efforts seem to bear fruit. He couldn't stop smiling as he succeeded in helping the old man. Shirou peeks at his side, the old man is looking at the greenhouse with the same smile as him. He wonders why would this old man insist on rebuilding this greenhouse.

"You know, this greenhouse was built by me and my wife," he reminisced. "She had always liked flowers, so once we had enough money, she nagged me to build her a greenhouse where she could put her flowers. Of course, I can say no to her. I deeply loved her to say no."

Shirou quietly listened to him, as he reminisced about his days. That must be the reason he is adamant in rebuilding this building.

"But she is not here anymore" his tone suddenly became sad. Tears start forming in his eyes.

"I'm sorry to hear that"

"Oh, it's okay. She already died many years"

"Still…"

"I said it's ok" the old man replied "My granddaughter likes flowers, just like my wife," he said as he looked up at the sky. "That reminded me of the days that I had forgotten, so what should grandpa do for her dear grandchild? Of course, build a place where she can put her flowers. "

"..."

"I guess this feels like an old man ranting about his past right."

Shirou looked up at the sky. Admiring the same stars the old man is seeing, it seems that even in the other world the stars didnt even change.

"I guess you fulfilled your contract. I didn't expect us to finish this fast. I guess devils really do their contract seriously"

"You can say that is true." Shirou took a questionnaire out of his pocket. Inside the questionnaire, are questions like "How's your contract with a Devil?" Sona was quite serious when she said that he must not forget to do this when he manages to do the contract.

"A feedback questionnaire, really?" The old man was taken aback. The devils seem to be more like a service company than he anticipated. Nevertheless, this devil named Emiya Shirou managed to help him rebuild her beloved's greenhouse. So who is he to deny this simple questionnaire?

In a single moment, he fulfilled the question inside the paper. While on it, the old man also gave the price. He explained that the circular object with weird carvings in Shirou's hand is a family heirloom passed through generations from his family. He asked why give it then, when there are other things he can give as rewards. The old man said, "It's time to part with that object."

With that Shirou bowed, and then once again jumped to the nearest building. As he was navigating his way back to Kuoh Academy. He suddenly received a text message.

'Let's meet in the student council tomorrow; you can give the reward and feedback there as well.'

He appears to be going home early this time. Shirou checked his watch. No, it's not early, it is way past the time he told Sella before.

How I'm going to explain this.

The next day, after school.

Sona has a complicated expression. Shirou has no idea what is causing this; as far as he is aware, he did nothing that could have resulted in this. His contract did go smoothly, and he managed to give the feedback form. He looks around the room, the student council members seem not to be that affected. So, why is she having that face?

"This case never did happen before" she said "To be honest Shirou…"

"Yes?"

"You successfully completed the contract, that is a very good thing. You even managed to give your client the leaflet that I gave you. However," She showed him a copy of the questionnaire Shirou gave to the old man. How could it be? Did Kaichou manage to magically copy what the old man wrote?

Shirou took out the same paper he gave to the old man. He compares it side by side, one by one, each word matches. The paper Sona gave him is a perfect copy of the old man's feedback form.

'I am already an old man, and people around me seems to not listen to me anymore. So, I was thankful when Emiya-san stayed after we finished the greenhouse and not choosing to leave. It kind remind of my grandaughter. I hope I can introduce her to him next time.'... "This is what the your client filled in the questionnaire"

Oh, he didn't notice it. His chest seems to feel warmth. Helping others always makes him happy but hearing them thanking him always manages to catch him off guard. All he does is fix a greenhouse and listen to him, but the old man seems to be thankful to him.

"To my experience, this is the first time I received feedback like this. I wasn't very sure what to do, that 's why I'm very conflicted" So, that's the reason she has that face.

"For a very long time, the most important thing for devils is making contact with the humans who summoned us. Then we received a price from them…" She trailed off, then smiled at him. "But it's interesting. That is certain. For you to be able to contract with humans and make them more happy not just by completing the contracting. You are very mysterious Shirou more than after becoming a devil, always going unorthodox. But please remember to do the basics, you grant their wish, and then you receive the price, Okay? Or else I will feel like going old faster" She grumbled the last part.

Shirou smiled wryly at her as he listened. Especially the last part of her statement.

"I'll do my best."

Shirou for once is not traveling through the rooftops, instead he is traveling by foot. Of course, it's not like he was in a silent stroll too. He was traveling towards his client's locations. It's an apartment located just twenty minutes away from Kuoh Academy. Despite the close proximity, he needed to arrive quickly. As such he was traveling down this road using his reinforced body. Due to how fast Shirou is going, he is creating a gust behind him, and before even the dust settles down he is already out of sight. By his calculation he will arrive there in around two to three minutes.

He looked at the Devil's portable device one more time to check his location. Shirou stopped at one of the apartment's doors and knocked.

"Good Evening, I am a devil from Sitri-sama's group. Are you the house that summoned us?"

"W- who's there?!" a sound of panicked man answered him.

Shirou got far more accustomed to this kind reaction that he wants to be. Ever since becoming a devil and not being able to transport through magic circles. His method of going to his client's location is going through their door, or if they are outside descending down. This led to his clients getting scared off and him profusely saying 'sorry'.

"I'm devil, I was summoned by you"

"D- dont lie! There isn't any devil that would knock on doors! Devils come out from these leaflets! That's how it works from the past summoning! And the one I called for is Koneko-chan, not you!"

He is totally right he doesn't know any devil that would knock on the door apart from him.

"I'm sorry but my demonic powers are low, so I can't appear from the magic circle." he apologized.

"You might be a pervert!"

Something just ticked off from Shirou. But he still tried to be civilized, his client was just surprised. There's no need to be angry because it's already happened with his previous contracts.

"I'm not a pervert. That is the last thing I want to be. If I could appear in a magic circle then I would choose it rather than running through streets." Shirou said calmly. "However, what if I could prove to you that I'm a devil."

The client stayed silent for a moment before opening the door. He's a skinny man, with a very unhealthy complexion.

He had a very doubtful face, clearly not convinced of him. He needed to start fast or else his client would close the door on his face.

Shirou open a part of his circuit. What I could show him now? He looks past through his clients head, behind there are several figures carefully placed in a glass case. Shirou reinforced his eyes to get a proper view of the figure.

'Trace on'

Then, as he raised his right hand, blue motes of light appeared before abruptly transforming into the same figure inside. It was weaker than his usual projection, but it was sufficient to prove his point.

Just as the figure appeared on his hand. His client looked at him and the figure, and once again at Shirou and the figure. The client took the figure in his hands, his sight softened as he stared at it.

"Please go inside"

His client, Morisawa, told him that he was a government employee in the day. His room looks clean and tidy. This reminded Shirou of his room back in his original world.

Morisawa took his job seriously, as such he was living decently but also because of this he was craving to get in touch with other people. So, he ended up summoning devils from the leaflet.

"So, it's not Koneko- chan…."

Koneko-chan? The same Koneko from my school, is she a devil too?! Is that why she smelled like a cat? Koneko Tojo is a shy white haired girl. Apart from occasionally seeing her around the school, there is nothing that can be called as interaction between them. The only reason he knows her is because he often heard the boys in his classroom talk about her.

But how can he summon Koneko when she is not even part of Sona's peerage.

"I'm sorry but I think that you used a different leaflet, Morisawa-san" Shirou explained

"That's impossible!" he exclaimed as he examined the leaflet. Morisawa's mouth twisted into a frown, tears streaming down his cheeks. "Noo! I mixed up the leaflets, how did I manage to make a blunder that large?! Now I won't see Koneko-chan," he wailed.

Morisawa's sobbing and wailing reminded him of another adult. Taiga Fujimura, to be precise, her adoptive sister. She used to cry whenever she had a lot of work, didn't finish checking homeworks, or didn't get his cooking. Shirou is still perplexed as to how she manages to survive her day-to-day life.

"Please don't cry, Morisawa-san crying won't do anything."

"You're right Koneko-chan wont like me if I'm crying." He wiped his tear filled cheeks. "Let's not talk about my blunder again. But can I ask, did you know who this is?" Morisawa placed Shirou's projected item on the table. Shirou has no idea who that figure is referring to because he never structurally analyzes the original and sees its history.

Shirou tilted his head "I guess you don't know, this figure is Nagato Yuki" He happily said.

But just like before Shirou had no idea what he was speaking about. It must be about a certain anime,

"From the Suzumiya Series?" Morisawa asked.

"No idea" Shirou shook his head.

Sensing that Shirou must have not really known about the Suzumiya Series. Morisawa asked about more popular anime.

"How about dragon ball, naruto, bleach, any anime at all?!"

"I'm sorry Morisawa-san but I don't know what you are talking about."

"Oh, you poor thing…" Morisawa looked at him with pity, his hand covering his mouth. Shirou felt something ticked off inside him, it's not his fault that he dont what he's talking about. He really just doesn't have time to watch television.

"Well how about games," Morisawa hopes that Shirou knows about it.

He had an idea about it, Taiga had given him a gaming console as a child. But Shirou never got to use it on a regular basis; the only time he took it out of storage was when Taiga nagged him to play with her.

"I have an idea about it…"

"That's good, then you must know about battle play"

"I'm sorry…"

"The more I talk about you Emiya-san the more I think that you led a life more harsh than me to not know about the things I'm saying to you."

"I don't think I led a that harsh of a life"

"You know what, my contract will be you acting as my gaming buddy tonight."

"I guess that could work," Shirou input his wish in his portable device. "and the price for your wish is very cheap."

"Then let's go, someone like you should not spend your life not thinking about things that could make you happy. You should your enjoy your youth before it's gone"

"I will think about it."

"Now, let's go!"

"So, how do I use this? '' Shirou smiled wryly at him, while he held up the controller.

Morisawa took a deep sigh. That night seems to become longer as Morisawa passionately guides Shirou on how to play the gaming console.

"Once again congratulations Shirou for completing a contract"

"Thank you, Kaichou"

"One more thing, you already achieved your quota so you are going to the next part of being a devil. Or at least a devil of my peerage"

There is a quota. Shirou is not particularly aware of this. All he did know is that devils are supposed to take contracts limitlessly, there was no supposed limit to it. Of course, unless the said devil doesn't like making contracts.

"I put a quota on your contracts, If you manage to finish it all without mishap. I will take you into hunting strays," She said. "Since you know that I own this territory. I am also responsible for protecting it from stray devils who managed to get away or chose to hide in this city. But since it's your first time going you will not hunt strays. "

"I see…" Just like what Tohsaka is, a second owner. They are responsible for any magus that enter or set up a magical workshop in their territories.

"So, I'm just going to come with you?"

"Essentially yes, but since you are just going to tag with us. We need to test you to make sure that you are able to protect yourself or run if the situation demands it. Don't worry, Genshirou-san did this too." Genshirou nodded.

"What test?"

"A combat test," her voice is firm. "Even if your body is more resistant it won't hold if you don't have the reflex or prowess to deflect attack or defend from it. After All, your body can take just enough hits."

Obviously, it's not like Shirou's body is imperentable.

"Moving on, your opponent will be Meguri-san."

"Yes, don't worry Shirou-kun, I want you to hurt that much."

"Now, let's go to the courtyard" Sona said, her face having a sinister smile. Just by seeing this chill run down through his spine.

I have a really bad feeling about this.
