Fortunately, thanks to Dale staying in Rescue Rangers, we stayed on the air for a few more years until 1997, where we did our two-part grand finale special on The Wonderful World of Disney.

After the Rescue Rangers finale, I conceived a new spin-off show for me and Dale. It was called "Chip 'N' Dale: Spy Munks". You probably know where I got the idea for that. Yep. "Double-O-Dale". Let's say I feel I owed him a spy show.

Oh, speaking of, we did do an episode out of the pilot idea for Double-O-Dale in Rescue Rangers, and believe it or not, that became a favorite episode of the fanbase. Glad I thought of saving that idea for my buddy.

More about the episode later. Anyway, Disney Channel picked up the pilot of "Spy Munks" in 1999 as part of their Zoog Disney line-up. And believe it or not, "Spy Munks" got just as popular as Rescue Rangers! We even had Disney stars make cameos like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Jiminy Cricket, The Aristocats, even Robin Hood!

Now, here we are in September 2004, filming our series finale for "Spy Munks". I am so excited. Me and Dale are actually having Darkwing Duck to guest star!

September 26th, 2004

Dale came up to me with our decaf coffee before we got started filming the epic final scene of Spy Munks.

"Thanks," he said.

"Huh? Why are you thanking me?" I asked, taking my coffee.

"Spring, 1990. Saving me from betraying you and all."

"Oh! That. Look, you were thirsty to do something else, I get it. But-"

"I know," said Dale. "I should've talked to you first. Typical stupid me, right?"

"Stop, okay? You saved yourself and did the right thing. That's all that matters, Dale."

"I'm glad you're here, Chip."

"I'm glad to be here, Dale."

We did a bro hug.

"Come on, let's go see Darkwing and give our fans a big spy farewell."

We went over to Darkwing Duck, who was reading his own comic book.

"Darkwing, hey!" I greeted.

"Oh, hey there!" said Darkwing. "Great to see you two. Thanks for inviting me to your show's finale. I was afraid

I wasn't popular anymore."

"Malarky!" me and Dale said jokingly.

"Hey, that's my line!" joked Darkwing.

We all laughed.

"But seriously, you kidding, Darkwing? Disney maniacs miss you very much! They LOVE watching reruns of your show on Disney Channel and Toon Disney," I said.

"Not to mention the gamers love playing your Nintendo NES game, too," said Dale.

"You mean that?" asked Darkwing.

"Don't be down, you still have fans," said Dale.

"Exactly," I said. "And this will start a big trend on your fan base."

Christmas 2004

And it did. The Spy Munks finale was a HUGE success on Disney Channel. Everyone was not just talking about me and Dale's epic friendship stuff in the finale, or Gadget's epic brains with her inventions, but also Darkwing Duck's special appearance. Because of that, Disney signed Darkwing Duck for a brand-new show.

On Christmas Day that year, Dale felt a little down.

"Well... that's that, I guess," he said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well, with Rescue Rangers and Spy Munks all done, what do we do now?"

"We could make a movie," I said. "I got some ideas for a movie starring us."

"Yeah, well, I don't," Dale said with a sigh.

"Don't tell me you're out of ideas," I said.

"Afraid so," said Dale.

Then, I noticed something on our landline phone. "Dale, look."

"A message on our landline," said Dale.

We both looked at each other.

"We don't like that," we said in unison.

There was a brief pause.

"Should we?" I asked.

"It'll haunt us," said Dale. "Let's get it out of the way."

"Right," I said, pressing Play. The tape rewinds.

"You've reached Rescue & Spy World HQ. Home of Disney's Chip 'N' Dale! Please leave a message after the BEEP and we'll get back to you ASAP."

BEEP!

"Hello, Chip & Dale. This is the L.A. Police, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!"

"Wait, what?!" we reacted.

"Now, hold on. We know you only played heroes in your shows, but we did research on your characteristics in your shows through the years. Here's the thing: Darkwing Duck has been reported kidnapped and bootlegged along with Robin Hood and a dozen more cartoons."

"Woah!"

"We're in desperate need of assistance, Chip & Dale. Please come and help. Thanks."

BEEP!

Me and Dale looked at each other in shock.

"Bootlegged?" I asked.

"What the heck does that mean?" asked Dale.

"Like it or not, we're gonna find out tomorrow at the police station," I said, putting on my Raiders hat.

"Wow! You mean-?"

"Yep," I said smirking. "It's time for Rescue Rangers 2.0."
