Hi guys! Welcome to another Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers 2022 movie fanfic! Today's fanfic was requested by an anonymous guest who asked: Can you please do one when Dale chose to turn down the Double 'O Dale offer and stayed with both Chip and friends, that Dale told Chip of how he was feeling about being overshadowed and not feeling like he belonged, that Chip decided to do better but was happy that Dale decided to stay?

And the answer to that is yes! I will happily do this for you! Now, it won't be exactly what you requested, as there is already a fanfiction where Dale turned down the offer written by pancham 98. So I didn't want to basically copy their idea, stealing it and stuff, so, I'm changing it a bit if you don't mind!

Thank you for the lovely review and request! Usually I'm not very good at fulfilling request so I hope this is good enough for you! Rescue Rangers away!

Chip entered he and his younger brother's filming trailer, cake and concern with him.

"Hey, where'd you run off to, buddy? I saved you a piece of cake!" Chip hollered, trying to find his little brother.

It was strange, why did his little brother run off like that? Was it getting overwhelming? Dale is known to get very overwhelmed around a lot of people, and there were at least a few thousand people at the party, so maybe it got too much for him and he needed some time away.

Chip moved closer into their trailer, concern growing like flowers in his chest.

He finally found his brother, his mouth going slack-jawed as he saw a really weird poster. "What's that?" Chip asked, examining the poster further, now realising that it was a poster featuring his brother?

His brother was wearing some kind of spy outfit.

Weird.

Dale suddenly appeared from somewhere. Chip noticing him with a anxious smile.

But Dale pressed a fake forced grin on his clearly troubled face. "Okay," Dale began, not looking at his brother but occupying the poster instead. "I wasn't gonna show you this right now, but it just got delivered. So... Ta-da!" Dale sang, directing jazz hands towards the poster of himself. Chip once again going slack-jawed.

This was the reason he left the party? This was the reason he skipped out on cake? To show him this?

Dale was an absolute idiot.

Dale froze, his hands no longer jazz handsing.

"Double O' Dale? That's hilarious! What is that?" Chip asked. His younger brother didn't move, still frozen in place. Chip repeatedly waved his paw in front of his brother's face, his composure and casual act slipping from beneath him.

"Hello? Dale? Earth to Dale." Chip said, trying to get his brother out of his anxious trance.

Dale eventually came out of the trance, his eyes going wide.

"Finally, I thought you'd never get out of that trance, what's up with you? What's this about 'Double O' Dale'? Chip asked, quirking his eyebrow upward suspiciously.

"Wild right? It's my new show!" Dale said exuberantly, his anxiety no longer there, or at least deeply buried.

Chip went wide-eyed at the new information.

At his brother's wide-eyed reaction, Dale shrunk back into his anxious self. Maybe this wasn't a good idea. He was the dumb one, after all.

"Wh-why didn't you talk to me about it first? We tell each other everything. You've told me what you had for lunch the last 42 days." Dale frowned, hiding away. They did, they did tell each other everything.

He told his brother that he had pineapple Pizza and a diet slice for the past 42 days.

"I-I don't know. I just wanted to make sure the show was gonna happen first." Dale said quietly to himself. "And is it? Is it gonna happen? Do you know it's gonna happen? That's concept art! Like, has anyone told you?" Chip asked, his facial expression turning sour.

Dale gave a quick glance to the phone, waiting expectantly for his agent to call.

But nothing came.

Dale's composure finally slipped and he lost it.

Chip saw his brother's composure figuratively and literally drop to the floor, he came over bending down to his brother.

"Dale Dale Dale, whoa, hey hey hey, shhhh hey, what's wrong?" Chip says quietly.

Dale began hyperventilating, his breathing becoming uneven. He kept repeating apologies, saying that his older brother was going to be angry with him.

Chip rubbed his brother's back soothingly. "Hey... Dale, we can make that into an episode if you want? I don't think the concept is bad or anything, I just don't think you should be taking such a big risk, that's all..." Chip said gently.

The phone then rang, and the chipmunk with the red nose answered it, but instead of the excited agent on the phone, the agent was very sorry and explained that he 'wasn't what they wanted' at the moment, causing Dale's heart to be shattered.

Chip rushed over, pulling his baby brother in a hug. "I'm sorry buddy, i'm so sorry.."

What? What else could he say?

What else could Chip say that wouldn't make his brother worse? He was so excited, so happy and now his agent called to tell him that he wasn't wanted. How can you say something to comfort someone without making them feel worse?

"Dale…? Ya okay…?" Chip asked his brother softly after a uncomfortably long silence.

Dale wrapped his arms around his brother, crying. Chip pulled him closer, kissing his forehead brotherly.

"I-I just-just wanted to get my own show so I can prove to you that I don't always need you…." Dale sobbed.

Chip squeezed him tighter, rubbing his back. "I'm just the guy who gets hit in the head with a pipe each week. It's clear you're the favourite." Chip looked at his distraught brother, using his paw to wipe away the tears.

"Dale," Chip sighed. "Why didn't you say anything?" Chip asked, folding his arms.

Dale didn't know why he didn't tell his brother, maybe because Chip was always right, he was the leader, where he goes everybody goes. Dale just did things because they looked cool, he had no logic, at all. Maybe that was why fans found Chip more interesting, maybe that was why, logic.

Dale turned back to his brother, pain written all over his face.

"I'm just a worthless chipmunk, second banana.."

Chip hated that word. His brother was not worthless. His brother may be dumb sometimes, but he was far from worthless.

Chip hugged his brother. "You are not worthless, Dale. You are far from it. You are amazing. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me Dale, and I refuse to let you think so lowly of yourself. You are an amazing brother, an amazing chipmunk, and Rescue Rangers would be nothing without you. Don't you ever forget that." Chip said, giving his brother the no-nonsense glare, which meant business around him.

Dale nodded resolutely, his smile returning. "I don't need an agent to tell me my worth." He says proudly.

Chip nodded. "Right Dale, you don't need him. You have all of us right here." Chip said with a smile.

"So, you wanna go back to the party?" Chip asked, and his brother giggled. "Yeah, besides, we still haven't danced with Jessica Rabbit." Chip smirked. "You're determined to dance with her aren't you?"

"What? It's not my fault she's so goddamn attractive, Roger definitely knows how to pick his women, I swear to God!"

Chip laughed. "You are something, you know that? But, in all seriousness though Dale, if you ever feel like that again, talk to me."

Dale nodded. "I will, I promise."

With that, and the cake in the fridge for later, because we can't forget about the cake, Chip and Dale headed back to the party.

"Rescue Rangers away! "They shouted in their chipmunk voices, running back to The party, and leaving Double O' Dale to rot with age in their trailer.
