GUYS WTF. Why suddenly, in one day… MY OTHER FANFICTION HAS OVER 40 KUDOS ON AO3 WTF HAPPENED?!?!? Also, not long time ago, I brought myself book, and… it so great! That got me thinking, it wasn't such hard book, I mean easy one, easy langue, because of which I'm thinking about writing book either. (Aren't you doing that now? XD?) well, yes, but then it's fanfiction, I mean OC work. It would be probably in summer, so I'm curious about yours opinion.
Despite of it, that hers father wasn't now in a village at all, Hiccup rushed through whole forest in fast sprint. It wasn't first time, she would find herself in such situation, because of which she knew Gobber would likely in few moments came into hers house looking for her, checking on her. Did she regretted now staying with Toothless such long time? Not at all. After that confrontation, she was gladly sure theirs relation only strengthened. She smiled at memory, for moment, thinking it out. Lack of focus caused nothing different, than hers tripping over tree root. Painfully, she lay onto ground, hers stomach first. Glancing over hers palms, there were already wounded. Gritting hers teeth by ache, she stood up, or at last tried to. Hers knees felt like on fire, and she took notice they were skinned. Even so, hurtful alike, she stood up. Now slowly going into direction of said village. What a klutz!
Eventually, hers way get her in place area was perfectly visible. The sounds of shouts, metal grinding as well as mighty roars made her sure there was indeed training happening. She sighed. There was no way, which would likely help her avoid that place. Walking forward, she made herself look as small as possible. The sound was getting louder and louder, so eventually she was right next to the place. Half way towards leaving area, she was caught by arm, or rather hook of known her person.
Gobber took her by shoulders, his bright smile underneath those long moustache of his were blowed through wind. "Hiccup! Lad! I was lookin' for yer in yers house! Where were yer?!" He didn't even get her time to explain, she opened hers mouth, but he rapidly continued. "Forest! Am I right? Some mornin' routine?"
She giggled embarrassed. "Aye! Just some... mornin' runnin'"
"That's good! Yer imrpovin' and that's important. I'm actually happy to see yer here, there is trainin' happenin' and that would be educational for yer to watch it."
She sighed. "Probably..." With deep breath of air, she straighten. "Do I have to?"
"Aye, that's right!" She glanced over ground, hers head nodded slowly as she felt well known her feeling of desire to disappear. Noticing it, Gobber stroked hers shoulder. "If that would help, I have some news for yer. Yer can't kill dragons from that day."
Her eyes widen, she looked over him as he told her best news in hers life. "I can't?"
"Since chief isn't here, also dragons are lackin', we can't kill more of them. They are trainin' ones, we need those. I can't let go exception for yer."
"Alright. I understand." Hiccup tried her hardest remaining calm, showing she hers indifference towards topic, yet it was terrible lie. It was most amazing news she heard from some time on!
Gobber glanced at her, analysing hers body. "Yer tripped, aren't yer?"
"Don't worry, just few skinned limp."
"Alright, if yer say so." Gobber then turned rapidly, Hiccup felt bit neglected as she played with hers fingers. "Don't waste our time, yer must see that trainin' already!"
Glancing at him, he already was lost in group of another Vikings. She sighed as she went closer towards metal chains. Whole place was now covered in gas alike, creating view of green fog. She knew in a moment about what dragons todays lesson is about. Glancing down, she noticed just underneath her Tuffnut which likely analysed surroundings. Eventually she noticed her, as he raised his head, mocking smirk onto his face. "Who do we have here?" He waved his arm at her, with bored eyes she looked more focused onto him. "Our Viking princess!"
"For yer it's miss Viking princess, that's for first. Second, behind yer." She pointed behind his back with hers finger.
He didn't even had time to turn back, as heavy, large head bumped into him in impact, sending him onto stone wall. Hiccup giggled mocking alike, then glanced onto said head. From beneath fog, body with two heads, long necks attached onto green scaled body showed itself. Hideous Zippleback. In mere moment one of heads would get from its throat a green gas alike, while another with one with movement of teeth lighten it up, making it blow up surroundings. Lucky Tuffnut was able to get out of unfortunate situation.
She stared onto dragon, sometimes catching view of another young adults. This dragon was indeed one of older, in meaning of staying in theirs cage, for sure not in age. These two heads in difference of Nadder were likely not much troubled by people attacking them, opposite, they loved when they did. As Zipplebacks were ones of most difficult dragon to fight against, this one was special about making disasters. Hiccup noticed, those two loved creating pain, they loved causing harm, but in way of likely joking, maybe mocking. They seemed not such concerned by theirs locking, rather strangely happy about it.
"Human behind! Human behind!" Left head shouted towards second, immediately used theirs tail to knock down Snotlout which tried attack them by back.
"Another one!" This time they used theirs fire onto Astrid, which perfectly alike dogged attack.
Hiccup couldn't help, but to wonder how such creatures were able showing such happiness over fight, with the knowledge they would do that for rest of theirs life spawn. She kept being locked in hers village life staying miserable about it, yet there was creatures in worse state, still joyfully about its state. When another of theirs bumps happened, in which Tuffnut and Ruffnut crashed into each other with impact, forcing them into hug, she couldn't help, but to giggle softly. Such funny and stupid creatures.
Eventually Gobber would likely shout at everyone to get into entrance, in way to show that it would be indeed end of training. There were sighs of relief, snarls of dissatisfaction, yet everyone rushed out there. One lasting in area would be Fishlegs, which while running out there, was caught in Zippleback sight. Immediately with theirs terrible cloud, they crossed his way towards escape. Frightened Fishlegs rushed backwards, in meantime tripping himself, ending with his back over ground and Zippleback just getting closer to him.
Hiccup focused, there were shouts of worry around, calling to him so he would stand up. She knew he wouldn't. He was too frozen. Hers chest started raising rapidly, eyes widened as well as hers body shaken. Weird worry streamed through her body, she get grip onto thing which was closest to hers body and she stood still. Bag. She immediately started search through it, and smiled when she found findings. Eal, which just same day Toothless frightened about was, in hers grip. Moment she left cove, she insisted into taking it with herself. Now, it was indeed great idea. Forgetting about hers wounds, she smear it into hers palms, just so scent of it remained onto them. Swiftly afterwards, she rushed into direction of that part of area in which was most gathered, and underneath which Fishlegs was now stunned to death.
Without even thinking, she jumped into it. She felt someone hand in last second tried reach for her, but it was second too late. With slightly bump, she landed onto area, just between victim and predator. "Thin human?" In hers head mannish, yet still squeaky voice of both heads, asked same moment, making her momentarily uncomfortable. She closed distance, hers hands up in air. Around, there were shouting for her, calling, cursing, still she focused onto task.
Zippleback rushed upon her. Terrible call of Gobber surrounded hers ears, yet she stay still, shaky alike, but still. When distance between them closed, dragon immediately flinched backwards, making everyone around surprised, confused. Silence remained around, as well as few sighs of amazement. "Back! Back! Back!" She shouted, made few steps towards said dragon, showing it off with hers palms. Zippleback immediately almost rushed from her.
"Thin human eal! Eal sickness!" Left of heads shouted as another one tried going forwards to her. Right head snarled at another one, creating little argument between them.
"Now, don't make me tell yer again!" After those words, right head finally backed. "Yes, that's right." Every made step closed dragons distance from theirs cage. "Back into yers cage!" Hiccup shouted, as she saw it was just behind its back, inside it she still kept shouting. "Now think about what yer've done!" Momentarily, its body was by the wall, almost likely climb onto it. Hiccup with all hers strength closed cage with those metal doors. When sound of final bump of doors surrounded hers ears, she smirked to herself. Turning around she saw that everyone would likely stare at her. "Okay, so are we done?" With slow movement she went forward, just next to them in distance towards entrance. "'Cause I've got some things I need to-" Noticing theirs surprised stare, she just nodded. "Aye, I'll see you tomorrow!"
Cove. She didn't knew why, but since some time coming here was for her calming and joyful. Just few days back, she would shiver just by thought of coming here, but now it was likely a pleasure. Focusing hers sight, she saw hers companion in human form, sitting onto ground, likely busy with something that much, he wouldn't even notice hers upcoming. Idea came into hers mind as she smirked ominous. At hers tiptoes, she went forward to him, just so she would yell just to his ear. Surprisingly, he wouldn't even flinch. She sighed. "Really? Nothin'?"
"Next time, be more silent. You're lacking of element of surprise."
"What yer mean?" She didn't had to wait long for explanation as he swiftly turned to her, shouting such loudly and rapidly, making hers heart to jump as well sending her towards ground. Keeping hers palm at racing heart, she stared at him, huffing and puffing with brows almost onto hers eyes. Underneath his nose, he smirked mockingly, as well as slightly giggle escaped his mouth. "Really funny."
He turned towards his work. "You started. I just ended."
She rolled hers eyes, but then eventually curiously about his doings she moved hers body towards his side, sitting just beside him. "What ye're actually doin'?" She asked, but looking down, answer was well known in same moment. Next to hers latest drawing, surprisingly still visible, Toothless would draw another one. Analysing him, his palm would strangely held onto branch, his eyes were focused, as well as his tongue pulled out. Such strange view couldn't possible not made her giggle fully. She bend over it, hers arm supporting her. "As for dragon hatin' onto humans, ye're spendin' too much time as one."
"Yours latest request got me thinking that I should as well try to know humans better." He then rapidly turned his head to her, theirs eyes met as she noticed strange sparkle into those bright green eyes. "Beside I discovered this!" He showed his big thumb just before hers face. Maybe, even too close.
She moved his palm from hers face, so theirs sight again met. "Thumbs?"
"Opposable thumbs!" His face was streamed with excitement. He then turned his sight onto ground, making Hiccup do same. Both was now staring onto branch which immediately he took into his hold, he smiled to her brightly, likely child which just discovered new toy.
Hiccup giggled. "Didn't yer knew about those earlier? I mean, 5 years as human should be enough time to notice it."
"Maybe, but earlier I didn't searched any of positive aspects of those weak and vulnerable creatures. No offence."
"It's alright. I also didn't searched any positive aspects of those dumb and ugly creatures. No offence."
Both afterwards started laughing softly, both likely happily about theirs company. When Toothless ended laughing, Hiccup still would, because of which he couldn't help, but to stare at her. Strange warm feeling, which surrounded his chest, made him turn rapidly towards his work, now embarrassed about himself, which Hiccup fortunately didn't noticed. Seeing his turn, she as well looked over his creation. He held onto branch, but she could only bit hers lip, seeing how strangely he held it. Hers sight then caught his drawing, which would be redrawn of hers own, but in 5 years old child style.
"First of all Toothless-" With few movements, she helped Toothless get better grip onto branch, which would now with amazed stare at his holding onto branch hand. "-that's how we hold somethin'." At the sight of her innocent as child friend, she giggled happily. "Second of all, what ye're even drawin'?"
"You can't say?"
"Well..." She shallowed hardly. "Is that yer?"
"It's you!" He scratched his head. "At least it was supposed too."
"It's okay! I appreciate yers tries!" She then blushed, avoiding his look now. "Nobody ever drawn me like that. Once time when I was drawn by someone was at shield drawin'" He made her puzzled look. "Don't worry, it's just some borin' tradition. The point is... the artist made me look not alike. He didn't draw me, but some perfect daughter. Yer know, pretty, confident-"
"You aren't like this?" Hers face now bright red alike. She could feel hers heart bouncing at such nice compliment. He tilted his head at her. "You seems so."
She smiled at him thankfully. "Well, Vikings don't think of me that way, that's why they created me at this drawin' as my best version. At last that was how my dad explained it." She sighed, sorrowful. Hers sight went towards ground, then she felt touch over hers shoulder. Rising hers head, with little tears in hers eyes, she was met with calm and reassuring face of his.
"I don't know if that would help, but I tried draw you way you are."
She giggled, whipped hers nose. "Thanks, it is helpful." When his warm palm let go of hers shoulder, she was met with hard cold feeling, making her shiver. Just then, she insisted into looking more carefully onto drawing. Even so, it was terrible made, he was right, it was made just way she was. Skinny, smiling Night Fury. She tried reach for it, then his eyes narrowed. Swiftly, he caught hers palm, staring at it. She squealed, then bitted hers lip. "Sorry, I forgot yer don't like touchin' it."
"It's not that." He analysed hers hand, turning it from exterior part of hand towards inner side. His eyes widened. "You're wounded!"
He carefully stocked place as she snorted. "It's nothin'!" She took hers hand from him, even so he immediately took it back, still staring. "Toothless stop that! It's okay." She tried get away from his grip, but he tightened it, making it impossible.
He stood up, taking her with him, then both went forward towards his branch. She still tried get out of his grip, yet there wasn't any option about it. She was locked up with him. She made him annoyed moans, but he ignored them as they were for him just sounds of wind. Getting towards his target, he get bag from branch end over his shoulder and together they rushed towards stones by the wall of cove. As he sat up, she was forced as well. Finally when they did, she was able to sharp herself from his grip.
"Toothless what are yer even doin'?!" He didn't answered, just took out his bag and take out few bandages from it. He reached out for her hand, but she flinched, distancing both of them. "Are yer listenin' to me?!"
"Yes, I do. Now, you listen to me." He closed distance, as he pulled hers palm towards him, staring at it. "You need help."
"No, I don't. Besides, first of all ye're doin' it too lightly." Hearing these words, as instructed, he did, tightening bandage he started, immediately making Hiccup regretting hers words. "But not too tight!" He gritted his teeth as he again lightened it, making towards her apology face. In that moment, he finally did it in way he should from said start. Even so, she continued complaining. "Second of all, yer don't have to."
"I have to, it's my responsibility."
For some strange reason hers heart ached. Responsibility? "What yer mean?"
He glanced over her between work. "You humans don't have such rules?"
"What ye're even talkin' about?!"
"Dragon rules." He stared at her, strangely surprised she didn't knew what he meant. "It's something we're doing because we were learned to and if we won't, there would be consequences." He focused onto bandage, yet in meantime continuing onto story. "Like, the rule by which dragons responsibility is to take care of abounded hatchling. Or another one, by which it's forgotten to eat another dragons meat. Those which would done so, are consequently considered as traitors of blood. Then, it's alright to kill suchlike ones, without any consequences."
"I didn't knew dragons had such rules."
"Obviously, there are ones which are strong enough to not be punishment." His anger leaded towards tightening bandage. Hiccup immediately flinched and winced in pain, seeing it he lightened it as well as guilt was streamed through this body. "Sorry."
"It's alright. What yer mean by strong enough?"
She kept hers sight at him, but he avoided it. Hiccup could easily say, he was fighting his thoughts, but eventually he likely lost. "It doesn't matter for now. Don't worry."
She nodded, understanding that if he says so, it must be truth. Then, she continued onto questioning. "What's that havin' in common with that situation?"
"There is rule, by which I should help part of my family, no matter of my feelings towards it."
Her eyes widened, as well as heart started racing. "F-family? W-what yer mean? A-are you consider us as family?"
He nodded slowly. "Obviously. Since we're both Night Furies, why wouldn't I?" He glanced over her, as well as giggled seeing her whole red. "Why you're reacting onto that like that." Then, his expression saddened. "Are you embarrassed of it?"
"No! Obviously not!" She bit hers lips, as well as played with hers hairs. "I just... no one was actually delighted by havin' me as family. I mean, yer seems so, don't yer?"
"I am delighted. I know it sounds weird, after all of what I done, yet it's really reassuring that in my family there is someone like you."
She smiled brightly, for mere moment both now focused onto hers hand, but then at memory, she yer again saddened. "Ye're makin' it out of responsibility?"
"Not exactly. I just care. Besides, you made something like that for me either. I'm happy I can return it."
She smiled now reassured. "I'm happy as well someone actually cares."
For not known her reason, by the peaceful silent they stay by, she stared at him. It was for her amazing how such person, which looked at her with such hate now was carefully stocking hers palms, in way of pain to go away. It was long, really long time since she received such care for someone. She remembered time, when after theirs first meeting, hers father would show such care, yet it didn't felt same. In that time, as always everyone would, they just left her alone to heal herself. Toothless was showing her that indeed he wanted help her with that healing, that he wanted to take care of that pain, help her with it.
Seeing both hands were now onto bandages, she glanced over him thankfully. When he did even changed hers hands? It's already done? Even so, strangely, bandages were too long, but she just smiled brighter by that. What an overprotective dragon. Then, new idea came onto hers mind. "I know we should continue onto our little riddle, but maybe, just maybe, we might made some lessons again?" She showed him pleasing, bright smile, all teeth out.
He sighed. "I guess... I actually own you one, am I not?" He stood up slowly, as Hiccup almost jumped out of excitement. "We should hurry up then, cliff is waiting."
Hiccup stood still, turned to him slowly. "Actually~ I had another idea." He glanced at her questioning, crossing his arms and raising one of his brows. "Maybe, yer should firstly learn me how to walk?" By that he snort with laugher, half-bending himself over ground. Hiccup immediately blushed, as well as huffed. "Ha ha, really funny~ because Hiccup can't walk."
"It's just-" He tried ineffectively calm himself, but ended up only laughing more. "Last night you asked me to learn you flying, without knowledge of walking?!" He bursted into laugher.
"Okay! I get it! I'm stupid!" She sat up on ground, turning to him by back. "Yer don't have to show me that, it's enough that my village do."
After mere moment she felt presence behind her. "Manipulation?"
She hide herself behind hers now crossed arms, which were supported by hers knees. "Yer don't have to do anythin'..."
She heard sigh behind her, but one which would likely show his blaming over himself. Around her, there were steps, so now just in front of her was said figure, now smiling to her reassuring. "I'm sorry. I didn't meant to hurt you." With one of hers palms, she wiped hers tears, looking now onto kneeling onto one knee Toothless in whole glory. "You know, I will help you. As I said, I own you that, but not from latest night, from much earlier. I don't know how much would I had to do to repay my doings." He rushed his fingers through this hair, in way to calm himself. "I just hope it would be enough."
She smiled to him. "It is enough. Thank you."
"Okay then." He stood up, handing her his palm. "Stop then that wailing around fishbone, we have trainin' to do."
Hiccup grabbed his palm, as he helped her up. He backed little from her as he turned into dragon. She kept looking at him, but then something clicked in hers mind. "Did yer just called me fishbone? Yer Loki's blooded-"
Rest of day, happened rapidly. When both changed, Toothless amend his earlier behaviour, from that mad one, towards a helpful, much more motivating, yet unnecessarily ironic commentating one. Hiccup was delighted that he indeed wasn't in that angry one from earlier, so now peacefully he would learn her slowly, showing everything from start. As he told, it was all the tail that was most troubling. It was heavy, because of that hers centre of gravity should be placed onto farther centre of body. At first, it seemed for her impossible to just change it, yet after tries, and obviously after uncountable falls onto muzzle, she was even running. For some reason, she couldn't help, but to feel Toothless was strangely staring at her from start.
Noticing his student improvement, Toothless would now smirk in his dragon alike way, bending over ground, almost sinking in it. At first she was confused, but then she understood it whole. Hiding, focusing his sight, coming slowly closer, almost likely preparing himself. Was he hunting her down?! She didn't needed confirmation, she just rushed forward. As she did, same did hers predator. Fortunately for her, as Toothless said some time ago, she was faster. There was no way for him to catch her. That's when he started playing unfair. With might push of his wings, he was now hunting from air.
"Cheater!"
"There is no rules!"
Hearing it, she smirked. No rules huh? She stopped then, likely faking tiredness. Hers ears were upright, by the sound of now diving towards her predator, she step aside from his way, causing him painfully bump his muzzle onto hard tree, afterwards sending him towards ground. Continuing mocking onto him, she just jumped over him, likely predator over pray. And she was predator! Because of that, both now ended onto ground, Toothless back first onto his wings, with Hiccup just on his chest, keeping him onto it, gnarling alike.
He growled back, yet both of them done so playful alike. "You might be faster-" With his strength he tried to get out of such situation, just to find out he couldn't. Hiccup kept his wing with hers leg, causing him to not be able to move. He purred amazed. "Impressing. Great job."
She squealed with excitement, alike excited hatching. "Really? I did?!"
He smiled at her brightly and proudly. "Yes, you did."
Now guys, love me. I send it just in time despite of my trip. I swear, I love you too much. 3
