This chapter and some of the next chapter will follow Percy on his first day of school. The first day of school is when Percy and Annabeth decide they hate each other (over a stupid argument). This chapter slowly introduces other main and side characters including Frank, Jason, Leo and Luke. Piper was introduced last chapter but still remains important. This chapter the soulmate tattoos/marks are rarely mentioned but once the story gets more Indepth and Percy gets closer to Annabeth and her friends, the soulmate mark becomes very important.
CHAPTER TWO:
Before speaking, Piper snorted at Percy's reaction to the girl. "Annabeth," Piper said as she approached her worried friend. She shook Annabeth's shoulders, which stopped her pacing and forced her to focus on the girl in front of her. "Are you okay?"
Percy's existence has yet to be acknowledged by Annabeth, but he has most strongly acknowledged hers. He watched as Piper gave Annabeth a pep talk about her upcoming interview or appointment, he does not remember. Percy was completely focused on Annabeth's face rather than listening in on their conversation, if he's being honest.
Mr. Apple entered the room a minute after the bell rang, clearing his throat. Except for Percy Jackson, everyone went to their seats, including Annabeth and Piper. He stood there dumbfoundedly staring at the teacher. Mr. Apple sighed and stomped his foot on the ground, as if he were a small child pleading for chocolate. After witnessing a teacher act even more immature than Percy, he concludes that this is the strangest school he has ever attended.
"Where do I sit?" Percy asked dumbly, looking around the classroom and making eye contact with the majority of his classmates. He noticed how Annabeth's gaze was fixed on the piece of paper in front of her. He's curious as to what she's up to. Maybe she's ignoring him, but that can't be because she hasn't even seen him yet. Maybe he is overthinking about this, which would be a surprise because Percy rarely thinks things through.
Mr. Apple rolled his eyes and pointed to the room's only empty desk. Percy made an O with his mouth before walking into the third row and taking the second seat. Annabeth is seated in the fourth row, but in the first seat, giving Percy a lovely view of her perfect face. No, Percy Jackson isn't obsessed with a girl he's never even seen speak; he just thinks she's very pretty and wants to introduce her to his mother before marrying and having cute little babies with her.
Mr. Apple, unlike the other teachers Percy has had over the years, does not introduce him to the class or ask him questions about his past; in fact, Mr. Apple does not even address Percy as if he is a new student. Percy hasn't decided whether this is a good or bad thing.
Percy is still staring at Annabeth 20 minutes into the class, but he has made his staring less obvious by pretending to pay attention to the board in front of him. He watched as Annabeth drummed her fingers on her thighs and scrunched her brows together in confusion whenever Mr. Apple reviewed a problem the girl didn't understand or know.
Percy has no idea what chemistry is, and if he's being completely honest, at his previous school, whenever he had chemistry, he would either sleep through it or skip it entirely. The teachers at that school had given up on Percy doing schoolwork or anything else school-related. The majority of them were just glad he showed up for class.
That's why Percy froze when Mr. Apple asked him to solve a problem in front of the entire class. He could feel everyone's gaze on him. Percy does not suffer from social anxiety, but he is very self-conscious about his learning disabilities. Percy pretends to look at the problem in front of him for a minute before shrugging and leaning back in his chair.
Mr. Apple grumbles something under his breathe but swiftly begins to grin the moment Annabeth Chase puts her hand up in the air to answer the question. She stands up and walks over to the board. She grabs a dry eraser and begins to complete the problem.
Percy had to turn his eyes away from the girl the moment she started to stand on her tippy toes. Her sweatshirt had risen up her waist due to sitting down for nearly 30 minutes without adjusting it. As much as he would love to stare at the girl's ass, he would rather avoid anything embarrassing today.
She finishes the problem in under a minute, turning around and smiling proudly at the teacher. She placed the marker and returned to her seat, but not before making eye contact with Percy. She smirked at him before sitting down, raising her brows at his flushed cheeks.
He bows his head and directs his gaze to his desk. Percy has never been so flustered by a girl before.
Mr. Apple claps his hands together and looks around the room, his eyes lethal. "Thank you, Annabeth, that is how you correctly factor a chemical equation," he says. In response, Annabeth gives him a smile.
Mr. Apple says, "Percy," bringing everyone's attention back to Percy, including Annabeth and Piper. Percy visibly freezes as his name is called again. He's going to make an assumption and assume that Mr. Apple resents him. "What exactly is a chemical equation?" With a stupid grin on his face, he asks. He was mocking Percy.
Annabeth tilts her head slightly, watching Percy stutter and nervously rub the back of his neck. Percy can feel her gaze on him, which makes him nervous. Percy raises his head to Mr. Apple and shrugs once more. "I wasn't taught this at my other school," he says quickly.
Mr. Apple smirks as he calls Percy out on his nonsense, "You were enrolled in Chemistry at your previous high school, Percy Jackson. Chemical equations are one of the first units taught to chemistry students. Percy Jackson do not lie to me," he warns, his tone tough and threatening. "You do not deserve to be in this class if you do not understand what a chemical equation is."
Not only was Percy embarrassed, but he was also ashamed. Piper watched as his face fell from the cruel words of the teacher. In response, she scoffs. "Obviously, he has no memory of learning about chemical equations in his previous school; why are you singling out the new student? Do you think principal Zeus would approve of your behavior if I went to him?" Piper's tone was lethal, and the look in her eyes was frightening. She clearly has no qualms about speaking her mind.
Percy gave Piper a grateful smile when he saw Mr. Apple scrunch his brows and shake his head before walking over to the board and erasing the problem. It felt good to know that someone was willing to stand up for Percy; he hadn't had that happen in a long time. Not since Grover.
When Percy was ten, his best friend was Grover. Nobody cared about Percy, the new kid. Percy pretended to be invisible to the point of being practically invisible. Other than the staff members, Grover was the only one who spoke to Percy.
It took Grover about a month to break down Percy's defenses enough to invite him over. They had been inseparable since that day. Grover was Percy's best friend, and his first best friend.
Percy was eleven years old when he was forced to relocate. That day, Sally practically dragged him outside and into the car. He never got to say goodbye to Grover or tell him where he was going. Percy didn't have a phone at the time, so he couldn't reach Grover. Grover most likely thought he abandoned him, but in reality, he had to flee Gabe.
Percy had tried to find him on social media over the years, but he couldn't find any profiles, matches, or phone numbers for Grover Underwood. Percy realizes he was only eleven at the time, far too young to remember, but he will never forget Grover. Loosing Grover taught him that becoming attached to anyone other than his mother is a bad idea because he will eventually abandon them.
He feels a pit form in his stomach as he recalls Piper standing up for him. She was not only friendly to him, but she was also standing up for him, and not just against a student, but against a teacher.
Mr. Apple begins to speak, jolting Percy out of his trance. "Before answering questions one through five at the end of the page, read textbook pages 48 to 55. After you've finished, have your answers checked by me before moving on." He sits down at his desk after speaking.
Percy observes as everyone takes out their chemistry textbook and a piece of paper. Percy takes his book and a piece of paper from his bag, the paper only slightly wrinkly. Before opening his textbook, he soothes the paper.
The bell didn't ring for another hour. Percy had slid his empty paper into his textbook after looking down at it. He didn't do anything.
"That is your homework if you did not finish the problems. Prepare to show it to me when class starts tomorrow." Mr. Apple says quickly as people begin to stand up and gather their belongings.
Percy got to his feet and stuffed his textbook back into his bag. He slung the bag over his shoulder and turned to see Piper approaching. She raised her brows, looking amused. "Fun class, right?" she sarcastically asked.
Percy laughed dryly and rolled his eyes. "I already love this class," he said sarcastically.
As she approaches the two, Piper looks back and smiles at Annabeth. She leans against Percy's desk, her gaze fixed on his features. Percy can feel his cheek reddening.
"Every time I look at you, your cheeks turn red," Annabeth states as she looks down at Percy. She doesn't say anything else as Piper drags them both away from his desk and out the door.
Percy can feel the awkward silence as they walk down the hallway slowly. Percy will speak if neither of them will. "So," he says to Annabeth. "Are you the girl with the soulmate mark on her boob?" He talks, ignoring the fact that it was a terrible thing to ask.
He notices Piper wince as she places a hand on Annabeth's shoulder. Annabeth's face is flushed, and her eyes are fixed on him. This is clearly a sensitive subject for her. "Where did you hear that?" She questions, her tone cautious.
Percy is uneasy standing there in front of her. He turns to Piper for help, but she sighs deeply and opens her mouth to speak. "While I was showing Percy around, Silena approached us and began talking," Annabeth and Piper exchange a knowing look. "She asked about Percy's mark, which led to Silena asking me if it was true that your soulmate mark is on your left boob. Luke allegedly told her at Dokota's party last night."
Annabeth sighed and threw her head back, irritated. She looked over at Piper before glancing at Percy once. "Last night, I rejected Luke yet again. He cornered me in the kitchen and asked if we could try again." The tone of her voice indicated that she was frustrated. "My soulmate mark isn't on my boob; he's just trying to aggravate me. It was an inside joke between us." She sighed and shifted her gaze to the ground.
"I hate that asshole. I cant believe you dated him," Piper says as she rolls her eyes.
"And I can't believe he can't take a hint; this is the second time I've rejected him since we split up," she groans once more. "I saw him grind on Drew Tanka last night and then make out with Cindy Rue last weekend; why does he keep trying when he has obviously moved on physically?"
"He obviously just wants to fuck you again," Percy says without pausing to think. It's as if he just blurted out the words.
Annabeth does not respond as she bites her lower lip and nods her head in acknowledgement of his words. She looks up at him and nods once more. "You are completely correct. I doubt you've met Luke yet, but he's the type to pull this nonsense on a girl, particularly me."
"Let's stop talking about Luke and get to class," Piper suggests. "My next class is absolutely awful, but the bell is about to ring. If I'm late for Roger's class again, he'll report me to Zeus." Piper turns to Percy. "Zeus is our principal," she pauses. "And my boyfriend's father."
Percy now understands why Mr. Apple was so hesitant to encounter Piper. With that kind of power, she could bring down any teacher at this school, assuming Zeus likes Piper.
"What's your next class?" Annabeth asks as she snatches the schedule from his grasp, just as Piper did earlier that morning. She looks over it and raises her eyebrows. She looks at Percy with an indescribable look in her eyes. "Every class except English we have together," she says.
When the bell rings, pipers' eyes widen. "Could you bring Percy to class?" She screams and turns to run to her class, completely ignoring Annabeth's reaction.
Percy was ecstatic to share many of his classes with Annabeth. The girl seemed smart, genius-level smart, which isn't usually Percy's type, but he can't help but admire her for it. She appeared to be funny and kind as well, but this is all based on a three-minute conversation he had with her. She could be completely different.
Annabeth looks at Percy. "Are you ready for history?"
Percy notices that, unlike Mr. Apple, this teacher's desk arrangement is quite different. Instead of desks, he has them sit at four-person tables. It's odd that the tables are in the History classroom instead of the Chemistry room.
He observes Annabeth as she sits at a table with another girl and guy.
"You must be the new student, Mr. Jackson," the teacher asks, his face bright with a friendly smile. Percy was well aware that this teacher was in a wheelchair. He's mystified as to what happened. Was he born without the use of his legs, or was he involved in an accident?
Percy recognizes the teacher's genuine smile. "My name is Percy." This teacher extends his hand in a handshake to Percy, who accepts. He's never had a teacher who was so formal.
"My name is Chiron, and I'm your history teacher." Chiron looks around the room and points to an empty chair. "You're welcome to sit next to Frank."
Percy focuses his attention on the teenager. Frank smiles and motions for Percy to come over. Frank happens to be sitting at the same table as Annabeth and the other girl. The other girl smirks as she whispers something into Annabeth's ear.
As he sits in the chair, he smiles at Frank and places his bookbag on the floor next to it. Percy observes Annabeth's slight smile before turning her gaze to Chiron.
"Let me take attendance quickly, and class will begin," he smiles as he wheels over to his desk.
"Percy, where are you from?" Frank asks. Percy can tell Frank isn't just being polite; the look in his eyes suggests he wants to learn more about Percy and his past. The girl and Annabeth also stare at Percy, waiting for his answer.
Percy is at a loss for words. He has no idea how to answer this question. He is from many different places. "I just moved here from Utah," he decides to say. It's the truth, he had just moved here from Utah.
"Thats cool," the girl sitting next to Annabeth says. "My grandmother used to live in Utah before moving here." The girl has long black hair and brown eyes. Her eyes are gentle and kind.
Percy doesn't know what to say in response, so he smiles and nods.
"Do you have any siblings?" Franks asks another personal question.
Percy freezes before speaking. He isn't ashamed to admit his father isn't in his life, it just sucks when people start asking questions about him. "No, it's just me and my mom."
"Lucky, I wish I didn't have any siblings. Clarisse, my half-sister, attends our school "Frank sighs and rolls his eyes. "She's a living nightmare. Her and I are only two months apart," he chuckles. "Our father is kind of a player."
Percy chuckles with Frank. He wonders how it would be to have a sibling. He has always wanted a little sister that he could protect and care for.
"Annabeth has two step-siblings also so it's not like Frank is the only werido in this school," the girl giggles while twirling her hair. Percy looks at her with a confused expression. What does she mean by werido? Is it a bad thing to have stepsiblings?
Annabeth and Frank share a knowing look before faking a laugh. "Thanks, Cindy," Annabeth says with a fake smile. Percy perks up at the name Cindy. Is this the girl that was with Luke the other night?
"Okay," Chiron says after clearing his throat. He wheels over to the middle of class and claps his hands to stop everybody's talking. "Today we will be starting our unit on the 1920s. Does anybody know anything about the 1920s that they would like to share?"
Percy was not surprised when Annabeth was the first to raise their hand for some reason. Chiron smiled as she answered the question, as she seemed confident and content with herself.
"Thank you for explaining, Annabeth. Today we will watch a video about the basics of the 1920s. Following the video, you will be paired up to complete an assignment." Chiron declares as he wheels over to the light switch to completely dim the lights. He wheels over to the computer and starts the video after he finishes dimming the lights.
After a little more than ten minutes, Chiron turns the lights back on and claps when the video ends. "You will be working with the person across from you rather than the person next to you. Over ten questions will be answered by you and your partner on the sheet of paper I am about to hand out. Some of the questions will be about what you learned in the video, while others will be about you "He smiles as he moves over to his desk to retrieve his papers. While Percy realizes he will be working with Annabeth, he begins to hand them out.
Percy looks Annabeth in the eyes as she and Frank switch places. She takes a seat next to him, and he smells her perfume. She smells amazing, and he knows it's strange that he's smelling her, but he can't help himself.
They don't say anything until Chiron gives them the assignment. Before letting Percy see the sheet of paper, Annabeth grabs it. She takes out her pencil and writes down both of their names. The first question, "Describe Flappers and their significance in the 1920s," she reads. She looks up at Percy for advice on what to write, but he just shrugs.
"Did you even pay attention," she scoffs and rolls her eyes in annoyance. She can't actually be mad at him for not answering the question, can she?
"The video was boring," Percy defends himself. He watches as she rolls her eyes once again and spends a minute writing down an answer.
She puts down her pencil and concentrates on the second question. "How come the 1920s were nicknamed the 'Rolling '20s?" She reads the second question before handing him the pencil. He grasps the pencil shakily and looks at her, perplexed.
"If were working together we both have to do work," she insists as she waits for him to answer it.
The girl is starting to irritate Percy. Isn't it clear that he has no idea what he's doing? "I'm sorry, I have no idea what the answer is," he says as he tries to return her pencil. Her expression is agitated.
"I need an A on this assignment, and I don't think you realize how important my grades are not only to me, but also to my family. I will fail my family if I fail this assignment; do you want me to fail my family, Percy?" Annabeth exclaims angrily. "If you refuse to assist me with this assignment, I will request a new partner from Chiron."
Percy looks at her, wide-eyed. Is she for real? This assignment is probably worth no more than twenty points. Annabeth may be attractive, but her personality is declining. " Do you realize this assignment is probably worth about 20 points? Why do you act as if failing is the end of the world if you fail it?"
Percy swears Annabeth growls at him before she responds. "I need to maintain my GPA," she states. "I don't need some new kid ruining it for me."
Percy mocks her arrogance. "I'm going to ruin it? I don't want to be partners with someone who is so controlling and annoying "He doesn't mind when her brows scrunch together to show she's offended. "I'm not interested in your pathetic GPA. This assignment is meaningless, and you are overreacting."
Annabeth shoots him a death glare that makes him shiver. While Percy daydreams out the window, she ignores him and takes ten minutes to answer nine more questions. "Would you consider wealth to be a good or bad thing, and why? Do you and your partner agree, why or why not?" Annabeth reads aloud the tenth question. She hands him a pencil and slides the paper in front of Percy. "We must both respond to this question."
"Wealth is good. Living in poverty is a nightmare." She responses both verbally and in writing. "Children growing up in wealthy families are more likely to have better manners and have more respect for their elders."
Percy's eyes roll, which she notices. She has an unreadable expression on her face. He takes up the pen and paper and begins to write. "Wealth is not always helpful. Children from wealthy families are brattier and more spoiled. They always have such good lives and are unaware of how fortunate they are "He reads and writes. "People growing up poor are nicer but having money gives you a good life."
Annabeth listens to his answer and opens her mouth to argue with him. "Are you saying that every wealthy kid has a good life?"
Percy snorts. "Is that even a question? Living up with money has to be a dream. Every kid with money has a good life. They don't understand how shitty life gets." Every rich kid Percy has ever met has been snobbier and snobbier. They always have the perfect family with a million friends.
"Money doesn't mean happiness," she argues. "Not every kid with money has a good life."
"How much money does your family have, Annabeth?" Percy inquires. It's clear she doesn't understand what he's saying, implying she has money. He wishes to prove his point.
Her face turns bright red in response to the question. "You know what, Percy, I understand how hard life is, and my family is wealthy, which proves your point wrong," she says, crossing her arms. "As I previously stated, money does not buy happiness."
Percy begins to laugh without a sense of humor. "I'm not talking about happiness here, but about living a good life. People who have money live a good life. You have a good life, Annabeth. You've never had to wake up wondering if the water would turn on or if there would be enough food in the fridge to make breakfast," he says this angrily, his hands clenched next to him.
Annabeth looks at him with a disbelief expression. "You're unbelievable. Just because I have money does not mean I have a good life."
After another thirty minutes of arguing, the class was over. Annabeth handed in their worksheet and stormed out of the classroom, not looking back at Percy. He didn't mean to irritate her, but she enrages him. He despises people who act as if they know everything. She has no idea how bad your life is when you're poor. Of course, she'd have no idea how bad life is. She's a princess. She most likely resides in a massive mansion with her parents and two stepsiblings. The only thing she has to be concerned about is her grades and where she will attend college. She doesn't know what real life is like.
On his way out of the classroom Frank caught up to him. He turned around and smiled weakly at Frank. "What's up, man?"
"I heard you and Annabeth arguing," Frank chuckles, ducking his head. "She takes school extremely seriously, like insanely so. She studies all hours of the day and night; don't be surprised if she gives you a hard time; she just doesn't know how to fail."
Percy laughs. "Is she always that controlling and rude?"
"No, not always. She is only that strict at school. Annabeth and I share a friend group." With a small smile, Frank says. "She acts like a mother, always protecting everyone." He slaps Percy on the back of the shoulder. "Once you get to know her, you'll love her."
"Yeah," Percy chuckles. "Maybe."
Frank assisted Percy in finding the locker room before departing for his own class. When Percy opens the door to the men's locker room, he hears a lot of voices. As he walks in, he notices a lot of teenagers changing into new shirts and shorts, while others were crowded around the sinks talking.
Percy finds a empty spot and places his bookbag down. He pulls out his gym uniform from his bookbag and swiftly changes before anybody tries to talk to him. He sits down on one of the benches and waits for instructions.
"I haven't seen you before," a boy with a cocky smile and ruffly blonde hair states. "I'm Luke."
Percy almost laughs as he stares at Annabeth's ex-boyfriend. The genius, Annabeth Chase, dated a cocky jock with bad hair. Annabeth may be attractive, but how did Luke put up with her bossy personality for so long? "I'm Percy."
Luke turns around, tilting his head. He looks at two boys before they run over to Percy and Luke. "This is Ethan and Dustin, Percy." The two boys give him a strange smile, neither genuine nor fake, more evil-looking.
Percy smiles at the both of them before directing his eye contact to the floor. Maybe if he pretends, they don't exist they won't talk to him.
Luke grins at Percy once again before stepping closer. Percy looks back up at Luke but only freezes at the look on his face. Luke grins evilly at him. "We have a tradition for new kids at this school," Luke grins once again as Ethan and Dustin grab Percys arms.
Percy stares at the three of them before rolling his eyes. He has an idea as to where this going.
"Leave him alone, Luke," scoffs someone from behind him. They all turn around to see a boy leaning against the wall, arms crossed. This guy clearly has far more power and confidence than Luke. Luke scowls at the blonde boy before ordering Ethan and Dustin to release his arms.
"Jason Grace," Luke laughs as he approaches the boy. "What are you doing standing up for the newbie, you got a crush?" He jokes, which drawls no reaction out from Jason. Jason looks at him unamused before looking over at Percy.
"Their tradition is to hang your jeans on the flagpole," he chuckles. "It's really immature, honestly."
Percy chuckles. "Seriously? Is that all? Dude," He turns to face Luke. "You're a jerk. They used to shove kids' heads in toilets to greet them at my old school. Stealing peoples pants to put on the flagpole is just sad compared to that." Percy was unimpressed.
Luke scoffs at Percy and pushes him, his back hitting the back of a locker. "Don't smart talk me. I could ruin your life," Luke threatened as he grabbed Percys shirt with both hands. In response Percy only raises his eyebrows and laughs.
Before Luke can do anything about Percy, Coach Hedge walks through the door, blowing his whistle. "Let's go Cupcakes, time to run." Luke releases Percy and sends him a death glare before walking away, his two minions following behind.
As they walk out of the locker room and into the gym, Jason smiles and walks next to Percy. "I'm sorry for them; Luke and his cronies are some of the worst people in this school."
Percy shrugs and turns to face Jason. "It's all right. I'm used to dealing with people like him."
The two boys enter the gym with the rest of the boys and wait for further instructions. "The girls should be out in a minute; until then, start running your four laps," Coach yells, blowing a loud whistle.
Percy starts jogging and is surprised when Jason decides to join him. They don't say anything for more than a minute until one of Jason's friends ambushes them. "What's up?" a cheerful boy approaches them and wraps his arms around both Percy and Jason, causing their jogging to become walking.
Percy is startled, but Jason smiles and knocks the boy off of them both. They all restart their jogging. "My name is Leo Valdez. You should keep an eye out for me." He exaggerates his wink. "I get all of the ladies," he quips wryly.
Jason and Percy both chuckle and roll their eyes. Percy can tell the boy is just playing around.
"Leo," Jason sends him a forwarding look. "You haven't had any game since Fawn."
Leo rolls his eyes playfully. "Fawn was a joke. She only wanted to date me because I'm friends with Annabeth."
Annabeth, what's up with everybody talking about Annabeth?
"What makes Annabeth so special?" Percy inquires of the two of them. "Everyone's favorite topic seems to be Annabeth," he grumbles.
Leo elbows Percy in the ribs playfully. "Jealous?" Percy rolls his eyes in response.
"Annabeth's family is super rich, like very rich, even richer than Piper's parents, not sure if you met Piper yet but She's my girlfriend," Jason proudly declares. Percy opens his mouth before Jason can speak again.
"You're the principal's son that's dating Piper," Percy speaks his thoughts out loud. "Piper told me about you in first period."
Jason was flushed. "Shes pretty great, anyways. Annabeth's father is a lawyer, and her stepmother is an accomplished surgeon. Her mother is a well-known architect. Athenas Buildings is her business. People at this school look up to Annabeth because she is not only wealthy but also popular, and this is not by choice. She also dated Luke and was the only and first girl to dump and reject him."
Percy took in this information and decided he doesn't like Annabeth even more now. He thought she was just wealthy not idolized. Imagine having three rich parents, Percy may be envious of the girl and her money, but he would never trade Sally for three rich parents. People date her friends just to be close to her. Thats pathetic.
"Annabeth's also really fucking hot. I might be her friend but I'm not stupid enough to deny that" Leo adds.
Percy decides to talk shit. He doesn't care if she's friends with these two guys, he wants them to know how annoying she was to him. "She was super annoying during history last period. She got super pissed at me for not knowing how to answer a question."
Both of them laugh. "That sounds like Annabeth," Jason says.
After they're done jogging their laps everybody crowds around the coach. Coach begins talking while the girls leave the Lockeroom and entering the gym.
Percy stands there watching as Annabeth walks in with Silena and another girl he doesn't know. He hates to admit it, but he finds himself staring at her. The gym attire for men and women was markedly different. The men wore longer gym shorts and an orange top, while the women wore shorter shorts and an orange top as well. Percy can look at Annabeth's tanned legs without the sweatpants getting in the way.
Annabeth is standing across from him, and when she meets his gaze, she glares at him, which is noticed by the girls next to her as well as Jason and Leo. Jason raises his brows at Percy, while Leo simply smiles.
"All right, cupcakes," he smirks, "today is my favorite gym day ever." he pauses. "It's dodgeball day."
SLOWBURN PERCABETH WARNING.
