Onyx
They had known that the boys from the mall would take their revenge sooner or later, and each of them had been informed of the necessary steps they should take if they found themselves in that situation.
Ash had warned everyone to try to run, while Izzy had backed him up, saying that it was better to look like a coward than have irreparable damage done. Isla had suggested calling for help.
In the end, however, it was Onyx who found herself pressed against a brick building, large hands holding her in place whilst an upper classmate took her from behind.
Her mind was startling empty except Dolan, who had quickly shut the others away when he realized what was happening, and even he was a faint shadow in the back of her mind. Fingers entangled in her hair, pulling her head back sharply, and drawing a gasp from her lips at the pain.
"If the little whore likes this, I wonder how she'll like being taken from both ends!" One of the boys holding her in place laughed, smacking her bare ass hard.
She stared up at the blue sky, barely visible through the looming buildings on either side of them. The shade from the buildings combined with the two large trash cans provided a hiding place from the busy street. Even if she did cry out, the cars would doubtlessly drown out her voice, and then the boys would only have more to taunt her over.
One of the large hands reached down her front, rubbing her sex roughly. The dreaded warmth flooded her body, and she was unable to stop herself from squeezing hard around the boy inside of her, her hips jerking back and forth.
They laughed at her, the boy who had touched her grabbing her hair again and forcing her to her knees. The boy inside of her shifted to kneeling behind her, still moving methodically in and out.
The zipper in front of her face was pulled down, and she caught a glimpse of wisps of dark hair before a cold wind brushed against her skin, and every single boy was ripped away from her.
Alice helped her dress, tears that could never fall in her eyes.
"I'm so sorry we didn't get here sooner." She whispered.
Onyx didn't say anything, staring silently at the pile of unconscious bodies that Jasper and Edward were stepping away from. She wanted to say something, anything, to break the silence that came over the four of them… but she couldn't find anything worthy enough to say to them.
Therefore, she turned her attention inwards.
"We are damned." She said, lifting her eyes to the sky.
Dolan's presence in the back of her mind flickered, and she got the notion that he was shrugging.
She shrugged, too, turning on her heel and walking towards the street. She had only taken a few steps before her emotions turned darker, the anger inside of her curling dangerously.
"Fuck it." She whispered, and spun back around, throwing the knife with all of her strength.
It imbedded itself in the boy who dared to defile her body, his unconscious body gurgling as the knife cut through flesh and interrupted his airflow. None of the vampires said a word, their eyes watching her with an air of gentleness, as if she hadn't just murdered her rapist in front of them.
She closed her eyes, breathing in slowly. When she opened her eyes, the knife was gone, and Edward was staring at her, concern in his eyes. The boy was uninjured, just unconscious, and she hadn't even been carrying a knife.
"Onyx…" He trailed off, appearing lost for words for the first time in her presence.
She blinked.
"Hey, is that who I think it is?" A familiar voice spoke from behind her.
Every muscle in her body seemed to tense.
"Yeah, Boss, I think it is." A different voice replied.
It was horrible timing. She felt like the entire world was crashing around her.
"Hey, girl, you owe us money!" The first voice snarled, stepping from behind the garbage cans.
Onyx glanced at them, her lips curling into a cold smile.
"Is that right?" She asked, her voice harder than steel.
The large men sneered at her, ignoring the Cullens and the unconscious boys completely.
"You know what happens if you refuse to pay up." The second one said and walked towards her, his eyes filled with ice.
Onyx flinched back, the bricks hard and cold against her back. The drug dealers vanished, their memories leaving a sour taste in her mouth. They had been even more rough than the high school boys.
"I can't." She whispered, staring at the entryway to the alley.
She half expected the dealers to appear again, though she knew they were long gone by now. People like them never stuck around when rich parents got involved.
Edward had said something, though… he wanted her to focus? Focus on what?
She screamed when she felt someone touch her, the hands as cold as ice, and they instantly backed up. She couldn't remember actually meeting Carlisle Cullen, the doctor of the family, before he stood in front of her now, Edward and Jasper close behind him.
Esme lingered near the other three vampires, looking like she wanted to step in.
"She smells like – " Rosalie broke off, her eyes widening in horror.
"Damien?" The name bubbled out of Onyx's lips, mostly on accident. "It was an accident."
Her eyes shifted past the vampires of the present, focusing on the red-eyed vampire standing only a foot away from Jasper.
"Everything is an accident with you, Ilyssa." He sneered, hatred darkening his beautiful features.
"That's not my name." Onyx responded harshly, and he turned, vanishing into the shadows.
Why did they always leave her?
"We are not leaving." Edward spoke up, determination in his voice.
She laughed at his words, but there was no humor left. Dolan was slipping, his hold on the memories becoming looser and flooding her mind with information.
"Onyx, focus on me, darlin'." Jasper said, stepping into her line of sight.
"Just put her to sleep, Jasper." Emmett said, and Onyx flinched.
Too many people… too many eyes watching her. She longed to retreat into the recesses of their mind, but there was something blocking her from reaching out to Ash. Dolan was the closest, but he was hardly any help.
She lifted her hand to her wrist, pushing up the sleeve. The feeling of the thin lines anchored her enough for her to at least remember why she was in the alley.
Her breath caught in her throat. Disgust swirled through her body, her fingers curling painfully into her wrist. Who could ever want her now? Where was Ash, or Izzy, for that matter?
She heard the Cullens speaking to her, but she didn't care to listen, sliding down the wall to the ground, shaking violently. She couldn't breathe, couldn't ground herself.
Memories flitted through her mind, horrific scenes of violence and abuse. She didn't fight them, staring blankly at nothing as the images tore through her mind. She could feel the edges of her psyche fraying, but she held on, ignoring the tears that fell down her face.
She was supposed to be strong… but she couldn't do this. With all of her strength, she shoved herself back into their mind, leaving the body to slump emptily against the wall.
She found Dolan curled into a ball in the corner, and made her way to him, collapsing next to him.
