A new chapter to reveal whom Sonic will seek to aide him.

The Sky was dark and cloudy. The Sun seemed to avoid the town except for seven hours of the day. The mountains to the west seemed to shield the town from any nice sunset light, while the mountains in the east limited the light from coming in. The town itself was once a booming trade center. Apparently, the world was ripped apart and when it was put back together, it made a bunch of mountains and completely screwed up the farmland.
The town had several buildings, and all of them were empty. They had shingles which made solid roofs, perfect for star gazing… if someone was into that sort of thing. The area was green enough, a few trees here and there. A river nearby, but the fish were few and far in-between. It didn't matter.
All for Freedom and for pleasure, nothing ever lasts forever
The song played on the music player as the fox kept a careful eye on his partner. Her left leg served as a rest for her right leg as she tapped her feet up and down.
Everybody wants to rule the world!
The song finished out, and Surge smirked. Starline might have ass choice in most music, but he at least picked a few good songs. Surge smirked, as she finished doing a stationary rock while on her back. It wasn't exactly comfortable, but if that blue faker could sleep like that, she could too. Then again, he probably wasn't trying to hide the fact that he was dancing to a song.
"Ma'am…" Kit mumbled. Surge opened her eyes, right as the music player made a swirling sound as it changed track.
"Shut it Kit, The next song is on. It better not be one of those cryptic bullshit songs." Surge growled, glancing up at Starline's custom track cd through the player.
"Yes ma'am" The Fox slumped down. At least he would listen to her.
The Music player started once again
Blind…. In the deepest nights…
Surge grunted, already feeling the tune of the absolutely fancy, poetic, dumbass song. Maybe, just maybe, it would get better.
Reaching out, grasping for a fleeting memory
Surge growled,
"Ma'am…" Kit mumbled, a little more urgently.
Surge turned, "What! What do you need?"
Kit pointed down the road that was the entrance to the town. There…. Oh… He was there.
Surge sat up
Whoahhooooo
Surge sent a volt into the player, causing it to explode into glass and pieces. Stupid fucking poetry song Surge thought to herself.
There he was, the blue blur that she wanted to crush into a thousand tiny pieces, then down in gasoline before setting on fire. Maybe not in that order. Surge was ready to throw down with him. Heck, she hadn't even done anything to him this time.
Surge got up and got ready to fight. Granted… he was moving very slow. He seemed to be walking in casually. He clearly spotted her, but he wasn't in any aggressive rush. Surge was so confused, she forgot she was ready to jump him. For a moment, that was.
Surge jumped down with Kit in tow. "Alright, he's coming, you go left and grab him, I'll shock him hard."
Surge ran straight at him. She was reluctant to go throwing down in the cities before, but seeing him casually walking up to her made something reignite within her heart. She was going to enjoy pounding him into a pulp.
She zipped forward as Kit followed behind. He stretched out his water-tentacles right as Surge went full speed. This was going to be the moment, She leapt up and-
Hit the dirt. Surge growled, "Where'd you go, faker?"
"Right here? That was close, not bad." His voice whispered in her ear, his breathing fast. She had been so close!
Surge balled a fist and jerked around, twisting with the hopes of landing a good punch. Forget the plan! The blue faker zipped around her, getting back into her blind spot.
"Hey, I'm not here to fight!" Sonic shouted at her. Kit's tentacles shot out, passing Surge, making her giddy with excitement.
Sonic dove out of the way, before turning tail and running away.
"Oh fuck no, You aren't getting away from me!" Surge gave chase, as Kit cried out in protest. Whatever, he could catch up.
Surge chased Sonic out of the city. She was going to get him, pound him into the dirt, and walk away with her shoulders high.
Kill him The voice of Starline cheered in her head. Surge shook herself, slowing down a little. No… She wasn't his puppet. She'd let Sonic live purely to spite the stupid platypus.
Sonic also seemed to slow down, which was weird.
Surge didn't have an answer for why, so she sped up. They race out until the were in a field… when the faker stopped, and turned around. That was… a shock for Surge, and she skidded to a halt , almost sliding into his chest.
Sonic smiled, "Ah, I see you're still a slow on the slow-down."
Surge growled, "You know what? I'm gonna pou-"
Sonic interrupted her, "I didn't come to fight! Sheesh, what is with you?"
Surge snorted, "Yeah, right? And I'm Eggman." She got ready to fry him, "Why'd you come my way then?"
Sonic sighed, "Because I need you're help!"
Surge tripped forward, "W-What?" That threw her off. There was some trick to this, there had to be, "You really are quite the jokester." Surge mock-laughed.
Sonic sighed, "I'm serious. I need your help."
Surge snorted, "Come on, you and I both know we would never work together. What are you playing at?"
"All of my friends are gone!" Sonic shouted at her. Surge took a moment to process everything.
Sonic groaned, "I'm desperate. I can't beat Eggman like this. He's taken my friends and put them into his stupid machines. I can't beat them alone."
"S-Sorry ma'am… I'm here." Kit panted, coming in last minute, he balled up his fists, "I've got your back."
Surge held out her arm, and almost laughed at Sonic, "That's tough fucking shit. You and I aren't friends. Why would I-"
Then Kit did the most embarrassing thing he could. WARRB
Surge's eyes widened as the Fox's stomach growled…loudly. "Kit, Tell your body to shut-"
WRRRBBBRRR Surge felt embarrassed as her stomach produced the sound.
Sonic stood there, his hands on his hips, and he sighed, "Why don't we talk over lunch. My treat."
"Oh yeah, like I'd ever-" WAAAARRB Surge growled at herself, stamping her foot.
The cushion was pretty soft, the sound of clinking was out with a family in the next booth over, and what appeared to be a date over with a green wolf and pink fox.
A jukebox was playing, filling the room with music.
You got to know when to hold them, Know when to fold them
Surge pressed her back into the red fabric. She glanced over at Kit, who was awestruck by the menu. No, he was awestruck by a particular menu item. She guessed she probably needed to pick out a meal.
Surge glanced over before she saw the special. A two patty thick angus cheeseburger with special sauce, onions, lettuce, Bacon, tomato and pickles. It was nice and pricey too. Enough to pull faker boy out of the cheap attempt at winning her over.
The waitress came over, an old chipmunk with wrinkles around her eyes. She had faded red hair, and a brown fur that was probably the object of many young boy's late-night dreams when she was younger.
She seemed to notice the Faker first, "Oh my, Sonic the Hedgehog, I'd hoped you enjoyed your last meal here."
"Of Course, Ally, this place has the best chilidogs in town." Sonic rubbed his nose.
Ally snorted, "We don't even have a town. Nice try hedgie, but half-thought flattery will get you nowhere."
"Ah, but that means the world is your town." Sonic smiled, gesturing to the outside plains that had literally nothing but a road around the diner.
"Ally" smiled, and actually giggled a bit, before sighing, "Alright, You can pick a desert. It's on the house."
Sonic shook his head, "Oh no, I just want some water and a chilidog."
"Ally" seemed to smile, "Oh-"
Surge had frankly had enough, "OH GOOD GRIEF, are you going to take my order or stand here talking to faker-boy all day?"
"Ally" turned, giving Surge the opportunity to read the name tag. Alice. That sounded right. Alice seemed to put up a force smile, "I'm sorry, I don't think your kind is welcome here."
Surge put up a grin, oh this was going to be fun, "You don't like Tenrecs?"
"I don't like Tenrecs that tear up city blocks and cause problems for good people doing good things." Alice scowled.
Sonic stood up, "Hey Ally, can we talk for a moment. I need to explain some stuff."
Alice scowled at the Tenrec, but seemed to take the hint. This was fantastic. Surge loved stepping on this old ladies toes.
The Hedgehog and Chipmunk stood up and left.
Surge reclined back, before her body started acting up, She looked left and right, searching for the sign of the fox in a dress. And stood up, "Kit, stay here, unless you gotta go."
The door was set up so that the bathroom doors were in their own room. Fair enough, she didn't want the stink on her food. It was great, actually using a bathroom for once. Nothing like having to use the river or a hole in the ground. This diner actually had some nice infrastructure for some middle of nowhere eatery.
Surge stepped out after… doing her business. It felt fantastic to use actual running water.
She was about to head out, when she heard the Faker and Alice talking.
"Look, just put up with them for a little bit." Sonic pleaded, sounding desperate.
"… Alright, I'll deal with them for a little bit. But you owe my daughter a picture." Alice sighed.
"I'll take it with her now if you'd like." Sonic offered, as if hoping to get it out of the way.
"She's out at the university. She's apparently studying Computer Flavors or something. The girl is far too bright for me." Alice smiled.
"Ok, I'll… take it next time." Sonic seemed to sheepishly propose. Surge almost laughed. Almost. He was really getting free food and autographs. What a joke.
Surge zipped through the door and sat down next to Kit, who seemed to look up at her, "Is everything good?"
"Pfft, as if it wasn't" Surge dismissed.
Sonic and Alice came back to the table.
Alice spoke as Sonic tried a reassuring smile ,"May I take you're order?"
Surge picked at her ear dismissively, "I'll take the Deluxe Special Meal. Milkshake and all."
Sonic's eyes widened, before nodding, "A chilidog please."
Kit piped up, "Peanut-butter chocolate milkshake please… If that's ok ma'am." He looked at Surge for approval.
Surge snorted, "What the hell, yeah, two milkshakes. You get that Ally?" Surge was having a blast. Now to see how far she could push her luck.
Sonic nodded, "Please."
Ally pulled away with her little note pad, a clearly forced smile.
Surge reclined back, unable (and not really feeling the need to) hide her smug grin. Sonic looked less than amused, but certainly miserable.
Surge would throw him a bone, "Alright, so what's so big that you came to me, knowing full well what I am gonna say by the end of this? You get your shit knocked in?"
Sonic sighed, "So… I guess…"
Surge blinked up at Sonic. She was sorry she missed him getting tossed around. That would have been a shitshow she would have filmed.
The tray got set down in front of her, with a forced smile from Alice. The picture of the burger actually did its justice for once. Half-inch thick patties, golden sauce dripping down the middle bun. The onions looked crisp; the lettuce was…. lettuce. The tomato was thick enough to make up for the lettuce. The grease was dripping down the patty, pooling in a yellow puddle on the side.
The milk shake was plain vanilla, but had whipped cream and a cherry on top, with little brown… chocolate shavings?
BRRRRBBBRRT
Surge resisted the urge to shout at her stomach.
Kit's eyes became saucers as his ears slapped Surge's left arm. Surge jerked around, "What's the matter with you-"
The Fox swooned, before attaching his lips on the straw and continued to suck. Surge turned and saw Sonic take a bite out of the chilidog, before saying, "mmu shud eat, mo mon-" He swallowed, "no one cooks like Max."
Surge picked up the burger, and gave it a squeeze, feeling the grease slide down her hand. She opened her mouth and took a bite. Surge felt like she had been struck by lightning. The burger was incredible!
"Pft… taste's like shit." Surge dismissed, waving it off and setting burger down. Alice was certainly frustrated by the statement.
Sonic sighed, and looked down. Surge acted quickly as the hedgehog continued, "Look, I went and checked our coms. No one at the resistance is picking up. I'm worried, and I can't do this alone."
Surge smirked through her full cheeks, "Meah, SHCUCHS DO BE YOU!" She tried to keep anything from falling out of her mouth as she made the burger disappear.
Sonic looked at where it had been, and then to her cheeks. She would deny any love of the burger. She swallowed quickly. Kit seemed to be in a trance with the milkshake. Surge wondered if he was going to propose to it.
Surge gasped for air, before repeating herself, "That sucks to be you. Why do you think for I moment I care that your life sucks?"
Sonic sighed, "Because if I go, Eggman will come after you next probably."
Surge blinked. She hadn't really thought about that, but it didn't matter, she could deal with the badniks no problem.
"So what? You think I'm scared of the next robot monkey fat ass comes up with?" Surge snorted, "Come on, you might suck against him, I got power to spare." She sparked her fingers to prove it.
Sonic sighed, a little frustrated and stressed, "What do you want?"
Surge blinked, was he offering something?
Kill him!
Later! Surge mentally shouted to her internal Starline.
"I'll get you a meal for each of my friends you help out with." Sonic proposed.
There was a tantalizing thought. Surge smiled at the idea. "I got nothin going on. Whatever Faker boy."
Sonic blinked at her, "Was that a yes?"
Surge glared at him as she dipped her fries into the grease-sauce mixture that had pooled on the plate. "Why the fuck not? Don't make me say it again."
Sonic sighed in relief.
"But you still owe me a meal for everyone of your stupid friends we save." Surge cleared up. She wasn't going to get cheated.
"Fair enough." Sonic sighed in submission. Score: 3 for Surge, 0 for Faker-boy.

With Surge and Sonic working together( not to forget the young, brilliant Kitsunami), Eggman is surely in for a problematic future… or is he?
Please leave a review and tell me what you think.
