Sonic was up earlier than usual. The house wasn't the same without Tails. Sonic wanted to save him to bad, but it wouldn't do him any good to go there and get caught himself. Tails usually made breakfast, but Sonic could try and make some eggs. He threw them in the pan on the stove and began to stir.

Of course, the goblin and her shadow came down stairs as he was finishing up with toasting the bread. Surge looked all too much like a morning girl, "What the fuck is that smell?" She grumbled as she took a seat. Did every other word out of her mouth have to be "fuck" or some other swear?

"Eggs, you want some?" Sonic smiled at her, as Surge seemed to be in her warm up phase.

Surge put up a smirk that told Sonic that he was about to have to deal with an hour of her complaining about every little detail that even a gourmet chef couldn't work out. Thankfully, her Stomach spoke for her, and her Stomach let out a loud, angry growl.

Sonic snorted, "I'll take that as a yes." He scooped her some Eggs on toast with butter, and placed the plate in front of her. Surge looked mildly angry, but she ate the food without any issues. At least, she didn't complain while her face was stuffed.

Sonic took the opportunity to enjoy the quiet, and placed a plate in front of Kitsunami, who eyed the food suspiciously. Unfortunately, Surge was done with her plate, and went on her rant, "Wow, Faker boy, that shit was over cooked and salty as hell."

Sonic groaned, "Well, you didn't seem to mind eating it." She could really complain about everything, couldn't she? To add icing to the cake, she grabbed one of the slices of toast off of Kitsunami's plate, causing the Fennec to look up at her slightly outraged, but more sad than anything.

Sonic groaned, and gave Kitsunami an extra piece from his plate. Surge snorted, "I have to eat. Even if it is shit."

"Do you have to swear so much?" Sonic groaned, shaking his head as he finally began to eat, "It's not exactly heroic."

Surge laughed, "Oh, and what the fuck makes you think I'm a hero? I'm fine being the bad guy." Surge's eyes challenged Sonic.

Sonic decided to play along, "And yet, I think you're a scare girl who doesn't know what she wants in the world. You know you're supposed to kill me, but you can't find a reason, and you actually want to be loved by everyone. I think the two of us working together might just make you see a new side of the world."

Surge snorted, but her face was clearly upset. He got under her skin, that was good, "Fat fucking chance."

Sonic shook his head. She'd see, he had that effect on people. "Alright fine. I was thinking we could go searching for Tails today."

Surge rolled her eyes, "The fuck if I care. Let's just do something, I'm ready to go!"

Sonic finished up his food, and quickly ran through the dishwashing process. "Alright fine." He grabbed his warp rings and threw one out, thinking of the bar where Surge almost pummeled three guys. Not that they didn't necessarily deserve it, but He wasn't exactly keen on the only town being hostile to them so early in this journey.

The bar's porch appeared through the ring, and they crossed over.

"Alright Faker, Where to?" Surge growled, slamming her fist into her hand. If Sonic's memory was right, then Tails was north east of the port. A super badnik was probably there, waiting for him.

"Let's go north east, I think that's where Tails was last." Sonic glanced at the Tenrec.

"Good, let's go." Surge growled. At least she wasn't swearing. It was a start.

Sonic crouched down and looked at Kitsunami. The Fennec walked over to him, before looking at Surge for permission.

"Gosh Drippy, just get the fuck on and let's go!" Surge shouted, before taking off.

"Yes ma'am!" The Fennec followed, and jumped on Sonic's back.

Sonic ran north east, and talked to the Fennec, "Hey… how are you?"

Kitsunami was quiet, "Shut up and focus." He grumbled.

"Sheesh, just making small talk." Sonic laughed as they approached a wooded area.

"I don't want to talk to you." Kitsunami growled, his eyes focused.

"Well, I'm sorry you don't like me." Sonic rolled his eyes. These two were a real pain to deal with. But they were good enough to help out. He had to remember that.

The most frustrating part about them was the fact that Surge and Kitsunami both could be heroes, they could replace Sonic, and yet they chose not to. They'd rather stay with their typical villainous style.

Sonic caught up to Surge, primarily because they both knew he was faster. Sonic dared to flash her a grin as he passed her side, and slowed down. Surge rolled her eyes.

Sonic shrugged as woods turned into a Taiga area. If his memory served correctly, Tails was about ten miles away from their current spot, give or take a few. Sonic wasn't exactly a machine with GPS. He actually turned and asked Surge.

"Hey, out of curiosity, did Starline give you a GPS or map system or anything?" Sonic tried to smile as if it were a joke but the joke was becoming more and more useful as Sonic realized how big this continent was getting.

As Surge's shoes melted the ice, she growled, "Why the Fuck would Star-dweeb actually give me something like that? He's a fucking idiot."

Sonic shook his head, before immediately skidding to halt as a rock appeared in his front vision. Surge actually stopped to laugh.

"Ha, you dumbass, you can't even stay focused." Surge laughed. She seemed especially hurtful today. Maybe she was a little more insecure than she let on?

Sonic noticed something about the rock in front of him. It was unnaturally shaped, like a tube or cylinder. Sonic walked around it, and Surge seemed to notice as well.

"Huh… Looks pretty weird. "Surge went around the other side, looking up and down the Cylinder.

They met in the middle, and Sonic tapped his shoe. They didn't really have time for this, but at the same time, Sonic's curiosity was getting the better of him.

"This is one of Starline's bases!" Kit shouted, opening the map, and pointing to the forest. IT was pretty close to where Sonic thought they were. Granted, he wasn't entirely sure, as he didn't have GPS.

Sonic spun around, and slammed into the cylinder, brushing away the snow, covering his copy-cat and Her companion. Sonic smiled at them as the entrance was revealed, an elevator with chrome doors. There didn't seem to be a keypad, just a button.

Surge groaned and rolled her eyes, "Alright, let's go. The sooner I save your friends, the sooner I don't have to see your fucking ugly mug ever again."

Sonic shook his head, "But what if there's something inside here?"

"There is stuff down there, Starline's old knickknacks and nerd shit." Surge retorted, rolling her eyes. Did she really have to be like that? Well Sonic was going to punish her for it.

He pressed the button.

Surge whipped around, "Oh Come the fuck on!"

Sonic smiled as the elevator dinged open, "Come on, just to get out of the cold."

Surge grit her teeth, and pushed Sonic into the Elevator. She growled, "Fine, let's waste a bunch of fucking time looking at old fucking shit from a nerd in his teenage years. Fan-fucking-tastic." She sat against the opposite wall to Sonic. She seemed to put as much distance between them as possible.

Sonic pressed the button to go the lower level. The Elevator doors closed and Sonic sighed, "You know, you could at least try to be a little nicer. We actually did pretty good yesterday."

"Please, Why would I fucking care how you feel? News flash dumbass, I was sort of programmed to hate you!" Surge growled, balling her fists.

Sonic sighed, "But you don't have to listen to that programming. You can be what ever you want to be, not just what Starline made you." Sonic smiled at her.

Surge actually thought about it for a moment, "Alright… I've decided I want to be a total dick to you." She cackled at that joke. Sonic supposed he should have seen it coming.

The door opened, and the Team stepped out. There seemed to be an empty large room in front of them, with square tiles.

Kitsunami was quick to point out, "There appears to be lights."

Surge rolled her eyes, "Oh wow, imagine that? There are lights, anything else, Captain obvious?"

Kitsunami slumped down, but Sonic sort of got the idea, "This place is supposed to be abandoned."

Surge blinked, and leaned in with the most arrogant look on her face, "And? The fuck are you getting at?"

Sonic grit his teeth, "Who's been changing out the lights?"

Surge actually stopped, and blinked for a moment as she processed everything, "Stardweeb probably built a robot to take care of the fucking place."

Sonic shook his head, and looked forward. Something seemed off.

Surge growled, "You know what? Fine, I'll show you how outdated everything is." She walked forward, and stepped on the third tile in. A spoke shot out of the wall and stabbed her cheek.

"MOTHER FUCKER!" Surge shouted, sliding off the spike, and clutching her cheek.

Sonic watched as her cheek-hole filled in with metallic ooze, before turning green and cream. "Wow, that's a neat trick…" Sonic mumbled. No wonder she was such a pain to fight.

Surge rolled her eyes, "Yeah, well, Star-dick gave me and Kit a good healing ability. Bit him in the ass."

Sonic nodded, before looking at the floor. There had to be a pattern they needed to follow. Sonic looked around, and Kit did the same while Surge continued to complain.

Then Sonic saw the ceiling. There was a riddle on top, and Sonic read it out loud, "I am the Greatest there is, I am the wisest of all. I am the smartest in the room, Who am I?"

"Not in the mood for games Faker." Surge growled, tapping her foot angrily.

Sonic looked at Kit, deciding he was done playing Surge's game, "Can you use your water tentacles-"

"To push on the floor?" Kitsunami's eyes widened an nodded, before looking at Surge.

Surge tapped her foot, glancing at the Fennec, "The Fuck if I care."

Kitsunami's water Tentacles pushed down on the tiles, and Sonic watched as saws came out and cut into the water, fire shot out of the roof, and darts came out of the walls. "E…G…G…M-"

"Eggman." Sonic sighed, it really should have been obvious, but He was a little stupid. Sonic wasn't too proud to admit it. He had Tails to cover the brains of the operation.

Sonic stretched out a hand to Surge, "Well, you want to go see some old knickknacks?"

Surge smacked his hand away and stood up. Sonic stepped back, and made out the letters on the ground. Forward, left, left, forward, forward, right, right, forward, left, left, forward, right, right.

Sonic continued as Surge followed behind, and they made their way across, when Sonic dared to look back, and Surge stepped right one too many.

Sonic grabbed her and swung her around to the tile in front of him, "Pay attention, please!"

"Shut up, I would have been fine!" Surge boasted, waving him off, before pushing forward. Sonic still couldn't believe she was so selfish. They made It through the little maze, and were rewarded with a button to open the door.

Sonic pressed it, and stood back, incase Starline felt like booby traps. The door opened, "Welcome, Doctor… Starline." A female mechanical voice called out overhead.

Sonic looked at Surge, then to Kitsunami, "Good work. Let's go check it out."

Kitsunami looked at Surge, awestruck and apparently not mad at all that she almost got them killed. Surge walked in, "Oh, wow, look, old computers and shi-" She cut herself off.

Sonic saw the room. It looked very well kept. Sonic looked left and right. The place was surprisingly modern.

Then Sonic saw it, "Hey Surge… I think He might have been here sooner than you think."

Surge glanced at Sonic, "Yeah, and what told you that?"

Sonic pointed at the green vial across the room. There in the vial… stood a grey goo. One of the last remnants of the Metal Virus.

Roll out number three is underway. The plot thickens, what will happen? How will our cast of brave and heroic heroes react? Find out… tomorrow.

Please leave a review or PM to tell me what you thought or what you think is going to happen. I will respond either in the next chapter or with a PM if I can't in said chapter.

Again, don't expect every section to come every other week. I just happen to be blowing through these without much issue.
