Hey! Thanks to Boss Teal, Key321Key and jackeline Arelyfor reviewing the last chapter and let's crack on.
See chapter one for the disclaimer.
It was two days after that, four days in, that the problems started. Up until then the majority of the staff and guests had been quite nice and polite to them. The staff because Tom guessed they had be warned by Walters that they were coming and the guests because maybe they were afraid? Tom wasn't sure.
Anyway, they hadn't been bothered. That was until two English tourists came into Breakfast and stopped dead in the doorway.
"What...the hell...is that?" The women said, clutching her partners arm like they'd just seen a ghost.
The man next to her scrunched his nose up and looked like he'd smelt something awful. "Waiter..."
The poor lad on meet-and-greet looked slightly terrified as he stepped next to them. "Yes, Sir?"
"What are those?" And with that the man pointed at them.
"And more to the point, what on earth are they doing in here?" The women said, sounding like she was about to faint.
Tails made a little whimpering sound and swung his namesakes in front of his eyes. The women let out a little shriek.
"Christopher, darling, it's going to attack me!"
Knuckles let out a low growl and moved ominously. Sonic let out a short laugh and leaned into Maddie. "If she thinks that's an attack wait till she sees Knuckles!"
"Don't joke, Sonic." Tom warned, watching as the meet-and-greet lad tried his best to calm the couple down. This could go one of two ways...
"I sense hostility." Knuckles said, fists tightening as he watched the manageress come and try to calm the couple down.
Sonic looked at the scene and raised an eyebrow. "No, really?"
"Sonic, I am warning you -"
"Thomas." The minor panic in his wife's voice made Tom stand up as the English man strode over to them aggressively.
"I am NOT paying $1,200 a night only for a bunch of freaks to be allowed-!"
"Hey, hey, we are not freaks." Tom said, standing up.
"I was talking about those things-" The man flapped his hand dismissively at Sonic, who also stood up.
"Who are you calling a thing!?"
Knuckles stood up and thumped the table, causing it fly towards him, emptying all the food and drink onto the floor.
"You wish to fight then I will take you on!"
The man went about two shades paler at that and stood back. Knuckles glared and went to move. The man screamed and pretty much leapt backwards. "Stay there or else I'll kill you!"
"Enough!" The manageress was at the man's side in an instance. "I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
The man looked smugly at them, but the grin was soon wiped of his face when the manageress clarified. "Mr Christie-Jones, I am going to have to ask you to leave."
The pompous Englishman made a sound like he was struggling to breath, then spluttered. "Why!?"
"Our hotel policy stipulates that Guests must not threaten - in either words or actual physical violence - other guests and that violence against hotel staff will not be tolerated. You have done both and so your booking is cancelled and you are not entitled to a refund. Now are you and your wife going to leave quietly or do we have to call the police?"
"I'm a policeman, I can escort him outside if you like." Tom offered, digging his badge out his pocket. Experience had told him it was better to always have it with him.
The man went even paler, if that was possible, and looked dangerously like he might faint. Stepping backwards he muttered than he and his wife would go on their own, thank you very much and he led his wife out. The manageress followed them for good measure.
"...Are they gone?" Tails murmured, uncovering his eyes.
Maddie reached out and gently stroked his head. Tails tensed up at first but then relaxed into her touch when he realised she wasn't going to hurt him.
"Yes, baby, they're gone." Maddie said, reassuringly.
Knuckles seemed to be deep in thought. "We're going to be in danger staying here." He stated.
"No." Sonic said, immediately before his parents could.
Knuckles looked at him strangely and Sonic amended his statement. "Okay, so I can't say it's all going to be sunshine and rainbows-"
"What does -?"
"-Happiness, Knuckles, it can't be all happiness but, ya know, most people are alright. Especially in Green Hills."
"Yeah and we're going back there in three days so not long now."
Knuckles shook his head and turned on his heel, heading out towards the gardens.
Sonic stood up and held his hands up. "I'll go." And with that he sped off.

Sonic skidded to a stop in front of the red giant. "Whoa, whoa, slow down-"
"Get out of my way, Hedgehog."
"Just stop!" Sonic put his hand out, accidently hitting the echidna in the chest.
With a low growl Knuckles raised his fist and Sonic decided his best idea was to just keep talking.
"Look, I'm not saying that Earth is easy all the time, it's not, but out of all places Green Hills is actually alright. The people are nice for one thing, they've taken me into their community against all odds and I'm sure they will you two as well. If you'll have them."
There was a silence while the two of them locked eyes with each other, Sonic could see the other was fighting about ten emotions at once, so he carried on.
"Just...give it a go, will ya? A proper go, I mean, when we're back. I mean, let's face it Knuckles where else are you going to go?"
"I shall find somewhere."
"Yeah, but do ya want to?"
The silence was telling.
Sonic smiled and indicated the hotel. "Do you wanna go back in?"
Knuckles considered then shook his head. "I will walk round the outside. The sun is kind today."
Sonic nodded. "Okay, well. We'll be inside." And with that he shot inside.
