I hope you enjoyed the last Chapter :)

Scourge had his head rested on Mao's shoulder enjoying his warmth. Mao watched as Scourge's ears twitched. He itched to rub him. "You're warm," He murmured. Mao laughed softly. "I take it that's a good thing?"

He asked. Scourge laughed. "Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be?" He asked. "I dunno," Mao said with a shrug.

Scourge laughed again. When was the last time he laughed? He didn't know, but that didn't matter right now. "Ah, I have a question— Well it's more like a request, but do you mind if I ask?" He asked.

"Sure, go ahead." Mao's ears lowered in embarrassment. He fiddled with the sleeves of his sweater. "Ah—Well— I mean I don't know how this would sound but—

Um- Can I rub you? T-that sounds weird nevermind!" He squeaked out covering his face. Scourge laughed at his reaction, not noticing the blush rushing to his cheeks. His laughter soon lowered to a small giggle. "Go ahead, no one's ever asked that before."

Mao uncovered his face slowly. "Really?" Scourge nodded. Mao hesitated for a moment, but then rested his hand on Scourge's soft fur. He started to rub behind Scourge's ears making him purr and lean into his touch. Mao smiled softly. "Does it feel nice?"

kkjjkk asked. He got a happy hum in response. Mao giggled softly. Scourge's ears twitched as he leaned into Mao's touch as Mao brought his other hand up to gently rub the side of his head. Scourge's tail had never wagged so much in his life. Neither had he smiled as much. Not even in his last relationship.

Scourge was confused why the warmth was no longer there. He opened his eyes to see Mao looking at him with a fond look in his eyes. Scourge felt his cheeks heat up from his gaze. Mao tilted his head to the side. "What's wrong? Are you sick? Your cheeks are red." Mao asked, concern lacing his voice.

Scourge rose a brow. He brought a hand up to his cheek. It was hot. Lik hot— "My cheeks— Oh. I'm fine. It's just super cold out here."

He said. Was he blushing? He hadn't done that in years. Or at least since he got over his little crush on Shadow. Did he really though? I mean— He's caught himself staring at the hedgehog at least 6 times a day. "Would you like to go back now?" Mao's voice cut in. "Oh, uh, sure. Yeah." Mao nodded.

The walk back was peaceful. Scourge caught himself staring at the tall male. Mao seemed to notice his stare and stopped for a moment to face him. "Is something wrong? You were staring at me." Scourge blushed in embarrassment. "Sorry.

I was lost in thought." Mao smiled at him knowing he couldn't see it. "It's alright, now let's go back hm?" Scourge nodded. Once they'd arrived at Sonic's house, Silver had ran up to Scourge and hugged him. Scourge was confused. Why was he being hugged?

Not that he didn't like it, he was just, confused. Silver pulled away and held his shoulders. "I'm glad you both are back! I got worried after a bit." Mao smiled at Silver and patted his head. Silver grinned. "Mao is so warm,"

He said, melting into his touch. "Let's get inside, it's dark out. I don't want anyone getting hurt while it's dark out, nor any other time of day." Mao said. Why does he treat us so nicely? He's the guest! He should be the one getting this treatment not us!

Scourge thought. Mao gently pushed Scourge over to the house. "Wh— But I don't live here—" He said. "I'm sure Sonic wouldn't mind you spending the night." Mao said. "Now come on, quickly now."

Once they got inside, Scourge had gotten a spare bedroom to sleep in, which surprisingly was beside Mao's. He'd went to go take a shower and came back to see a note on the door. He picked it up and it read, "Sorry, I forgot to give you my number so we can keep in contact with each other. It's 336-576-7252 I hope to talk to you again," And there was a little heart beside Mao's name. Scourge snorted and held the note as he walked into his (temporary) room.

Mao awoke the next morning and came out of his room. He stretched as he walked down the stairs. He paused seeing a pink hedgehog and red echidna. He ignored her and continued down the stairs, only for the last one to be blocked by the short female. (Really all of them are short to him— He's like 6'2-6'3—) "Um, hello.

Can you let me go to the kitchen so I can eat?" (I mean he could always push her but like— He's tall and intimidating with his silence— Plus he didn't want to be rude.) "Why aren't you wearing pants?" She asked. "Does it matter?" To him, no.

Was it insulting to them? "You might try to steal my Sonikku!" Mao tilted his head to the side hearing the name. "Sonikku?" He repeated in confusion. Then out of nowhere, Sonic peeked his head out of a room. "Huh?

Who said my name?" He called out. He turned to the blue hedgehog in confusion. "Your name is Sonikku?" He asked. "Oh you said 'Sonikku?' I thought you said Sonic."

Mao shrugged it off and turned to the female and picked her up and walked over to the couch gently sat her down, then went into the kitchen. The pink hedgehog was confused. If he could've moved her at the start, why didn't he? Mao spotted Tails in the kitchen resting his head on the table, asleep. Mao smiled softly and patted his head. Mao gasped softly. "He's so fluffy!"

He whispered. Mao had to force himself to let go of the poor fox. He grabbed an apple out of the fruit bowl, rinsed it off, then headed to the stairs to go to his room only to be blocked by the short female hedgehog once again. He sighed. "Hello," He greeted.

"Go out with me!" Mao was silent. ..What? "I um— Can you maybe reword that? I— I didn't hear you correctly."

(In all honesty, he just didn't want to tell the girl he's gay.) "Have a day out with me. We can get to know each other." Mao sighed of relief. "Oh, thank goodness." He muttered. "Okay, but we can go later—"

The girl grabbed his hand. "Come on!" She said, attempting to pull him over to the door. "W-wait! A-at least let me get dressed first!" She let go. "Okay."

Mao sighed as he ran up the stairs nearly tripping. "Gods, that girl.." He muttered, opening his door going in, and closing it behind him.

While Mao was about to put a sweater on, someone knocked on his door. "Yeah?" He called out turning his body to the door. The door opened and Shadow was there. "I came to return your..." He trailed off, his cheeks heating up. Wow, he is built nice.

Like a model almost "..Watch." He finished. Mao turned to look at him finally getting his sweater on. "Oh, you can keep it." He said. Shadow cleared his throat and nodded.

He left, closing the door behind him. Mao was confused but shrugged it off as he put his phone in his pocket. He opened his door and left, closing it behind him, going downstairs only to see the echidna ready to pummel Sonic and the pink hedgehog clinging to Sonic. Mao sighed and walked up to the three of them. The echidna's amethyst orbs landed on the Keno distracting him for a moment. "Guys, please. It's rude to do this in someone's home, and in front of a lady."

He said, gesturing to Amy. This seemed to fluster them as they all stopped what they were doing. Mao sighed once more. "Thank you," Mao said, now grateful for the silence. He turned to Amy, his red eyes sparkling with something between excitement and contentment.

"Would you like to go now, Miss Amy?" He asked. Amy snapped out of her trance and nodded. "Yeah! Let's go! I'll go start the car." Mao didn't really like the idea of cars, but he'd have to get used to it.

Back home, they either walked or flew to their destinations. Mao nodded as he watched Amy grab her coat. She left the house and closed the door behind her. Mao turned to Shadow, who was sitting on the couch scrolling through his phone, and Sonic and Knuckles who were having a staring contest. "Sonic, don't cause any trouble. Shadow you're in charge of those two." Shadow nodded.

Mao then left the house assuming the shiny red car was Amy's, he spotted her inside and knocked on the window. She turned to him and unlocked the door, grinning at him. He opened the door and sat in the passenger's seat, then close the door, buckling his seatbelt. Mao pulled his phone out of his pocket, seeing he'd gotten a text from Scourge.

Hey

I gave Silver your number is that okay?

That's fine with me.

Cool

I saw you leave

Were you going somewhere?

I don't know if I should be concerned or not

I didn't see you

Are you stalking me?

No dummy

I live across the street

I went on the porch for a smoke

Mao frowned.

You do know that smoking is bad for you right?

Who cares?

Um, me

Who else

It's sweet that you care and all, but it calms my nerves

Shit's been going on and it's helped me out

Just, please

Please be careful okay?

Mao smiled softly and turned his phone off. "So, what's your name? Sonikku never tells me about his friends," She said with a little pout. "Mao." Amy smiled. "You seem like a nice guy, how old are you?"

She asked. What the hell is this? An interrogation? He asked himself. "I'm 19." Amy's smile widened, creeping the poor boy out. This is why I don't deal with women.

"What about you miss Amy?" He asked. "Oh, I'm 17." Mao hummed, looking out the window not recognizing where they were. (Not that he recognized anything in the town.) "Where exactly are we going, Miss Amy?" He asked. "The movies. I thought it'd help you relax around me a little bit. I noticed you're kinda tense, not just around us since you don't know us, but around women in general." Shit, I didn't know she noticed. He thought. Mao could only hope that this day would go well.

Amy whined as her ears flattened at Mao's choice of movie. "Boys and their horror movies." She muttered as they walked into the theater.

Almost halfway through the movie, Amy wouldn't stop clinging to his arm. Mao would flinch, but eventually ignored his discomfort and tried to focus on the movie. After the movie Amy dashed out of the theater, finally giving Mao time to himself. She turned around and smiled at him. "How was the movie? Did you enjoy it?" She asked.

He nodded. "It was nice. I enjoyed your company." He half-lied. The first half he lied about. He was very uncomfortable with her clinging to him. But her company was nice.

She smiled at the response. "Great! I would take you out to do more, but I only got half an hour to get ready for work. Do you want me to drive you back?" She asked. He was going to say yes, but he might make her late for work. "No, thank you for the offer though.

I'll just walk back." He honestly did want her to drive him back, he doesn't know his way around the city. She smiled and ran off. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and went to Scourge's contact.

Hello

Hey

Where'd you and Amy go?

Oh

We went to the movies

I um

I need help

What happened?

Could you give me Sonic's number if you have it?

I don't mean to bother you or anyone else but—

I don't know my way around the city

Oop—

That sucks

I don't have his number

I could pick you up though

Don't worry about it

I'll find my way back

Eventually

I

That sentence scares me-

But

I'll call you in thirty minutes to make sure you're okay

And I'll pick you up if I don't see you by then

Forty

Wha—

Why-

Thirty

Forty

ₜₑₓₜ ₛₑₙₜ ₐₜ ₃:₄₃ ₚₘ

Scourge?

Fine

Forty and no later than that

Okay

See you then

:)

Bye

And for thirty minutes, Mao was trying to find Sonic's house but ended up sitting on a bench for the last 10 minutes. Mao pouted. He hadn't been able to find Sonic's house. Soon his phone vibrated, making him grab it only to see a call from Scourge. He answered it. "Hello?"

"Oh, hey!"

"I didn't find it.." He said with a pout.

"Aw, don't worry, I'm on my way now. Where are you at?"

"I'm in front of a bakery."

"Okay, Oh. I see you now!" Then a jet-black car stopped in front of him with tinted windows. The windows rolled down, revealing Scourge. "Hey! The door's unlocked." He said.

Mao got up, put his phone in his pocket and opened the car door, got in, and closed it, then put his seatbelt on. For some reason in Scourge's car, he felt safe. Mao smiled to himself and looked down at his phone and saw a new message. It wasn't from Scourge though.

Hey there

It's me!

Tails

I kinda hacked into your phone to get your number.

But don't worry it's only your number.

Oh

I'm not worried about that-

It is a little disturbing though

I

I'll see you when you get home.

Okay, bye.

Bonus:

When Mao arrived home, and he saw everything was still okay, he rewarded Shadow with headpats. In which the hedgehog immediately melted into. Mao smiled. He's like a puppy. He thought.

I imagine Shadow to be extremely touch-starved since he hasn't had any physical affection in over 50 years.

Tails: Hacks Mao's phone

Mao: Just calm about it—

I would've been fuckin d—

Anywho, reasons as to why Mao isn't too fond of being touched without his consent is because he was touched without his consent at a young age. Also, his mother abused him and manipulated him for years. That's why he was very uncomfortable around Amy after the movie.

I hope you all enjoyed!

There's gonna be new characters introduced next Chapter!
