Hello again.

I hope you all liked the last chapter.

This one is gonna be disturbing for folks who are scared of vegetation.

I'm just scared of vines. I avoid them as much as possible. But it's hard when they're at the entrance of my trailer park and in my neighbor's yards.

More fun facts about Kenos.

Kenos are nature lovers.

They have the ability to control or even coax nature creatures.

Anywho, enjoy.

Who's scared of suddenly magical vines? Well, Scourge the hedgehog is. (Plus the creator. Aheh— ✨Me✨) At first, Scourge thought it was Cosmo getting back at him for harming Sonic and his friends. Multiple times.

And succeeded. Every. Single. Time. But nope. It's vines. Just vines.

That can kill him if they wished to do so. Scourge had a literal death grip on Sonic's hand. Was he one to hold someone's hand? No. But in this situation, he has no choice. And now, Sonic led them into a forest full of vines. Scourge's grip on Sonic's hand tightened.

"Wh— Ow! Dude that hurts!" He exclaimed stopping his stride. "Sorry. Just— Just keep walking."

Shadow was concerned for the green hedgehog. "Are you okay—" He was cut off by Scourge. "I'm fine! L-let's just keep going." Scourge said. He just wanted Sonic to hurry up so they could leave.

He saw many lakes and ponds that looked much like the one he'd nearly died in. That memory flashed in his head over and over again. He just wanted to forget it. Forget that day happened. Forget the forest. He should've convinced his Auntie to move somewhere else. Sonic was too busy following Dark's Chaos energy to pay attention to how terrified his friend was.

"Soni—"

"Wait, we're getting close!" Sonic exclaimed. "Sonic," Shadow called out in a firm tone, motioning to the terrified green hedgie who was practically shaking. Sonic turned around and then looked at Scourge who was on the verge of tears. "Scourge..?" He called out.

Scourge was trembling. He looked like he was in a daze. "Scourge— Hey, are you okay?" Sonic asked concerned for his friend. Scourge's breath sounded ragged. "Scourge—

Hey! Scourge!" He called out to the male. He'd let go of Sonic's hand and was now on his hands and knees, hyperventilating. Scourge couldn't focus on anything else, but the terror he felt, the moment he'd felt that vine wrap around his throat. He felt it pulsating against his throat. The feeling of it scraping his throat.

The feeling of being suffocated. He remembered it all. He couldn't breathe. He remembered how he flailed around desperately. He then felt a familiar warm embrace. Scourge closed his eyes and relaxed into the embrace. The way the person rubbed him with so much gentleness, and care, reminded him of Mao.

Eventually, he fell asleep in their arms.

Sonic and Shadow were currently looking for the vine that had randomly grabbed Scourge up and passed him onto other vines. They'd lost track of where he was since the vines moved so quickly. "Shit. I need to find him." Sonic muttered as he ran his hands through his quills, trying to keep calm. "This is all my fault. I shouldn't have brought him here.

They recognize you, but not him. Damn it." Shadow rose an eye ridge. "I've been here before?" He asked. "Yeah, I brought you here before Egghead wiped your memory.

They don't know that though. We gotta get him back. Come on." Shadow nodded and followed behind the blue blur.

Shadow doesn't know how he found himself in front of Sonic, and three other hedgehogs that look exactly like Sonic. "Shadow, meet Dark, Super, and Fleetway. Now that introductions are out of the way," Sonic paused and took in a lungful of air, concerning the ebony hedgehog. "Scourge was taken by the vines. Crazy, I know, but I need your help.

You all have been here ever since I was born, and trust me. Even now, I still don't know how this place works." The three glanced at each other and then looked away from Sonic guiltily. Shadow had a feeling that what they were gonna say, was not gonna be pleasant. "..There's a chance that your friend might be held captive at.." Super paused and shivered. "Their core."

The silence in the air was so thick that you could cut it. "Okay, so where is that?" He asked. The three tensed up. "You see that flower up there?" Super asked pointing to a white gigantic flower unopened. "Yeah, why?"

He asked. "Well, It's.. Scourge is most likely inside of the core. Which is one of the Magnoia up there." Sonic grinned. "Alright. So where's the core?"

He asked. "The center of the forest," Dark said with a grim expression on his face. "When do we leave? You know I can't go out there by myself. You guys never let me go past the creek." The three sighed.

"Fine. We'll leave at sunrise." Super said. Sonic cheered. "Cool! Where's Mao?" He asked.

Shadow was taken by surprise, turning to Sonic and interrupting his glaring contest with Fleetway. "Hah! I win! You looked away!" (Fleetway being a competitive bitch XD) "Shut up." He said turning back to Fleetway.

Then he turned back to Sonic. "Mao's here?" He asked. Sonic nodded. This earned him a kick to the shin. "Ow!" He yelled kneeling down in pain.

"Shadow what the hell! That hurt!" Shadow huffed in annoyance. "Good! It was supposed to!" He retorted. "What the hell made you think that not telling us where Mao is was a good idea?!"

He yelled. "Mao isn't awake! This is just where his consciousness is! This is apparently my mind, from what Super told me." Sonic said as he rubbed his now bruised shin. Shadow huffed. "Fine.

I believe you. For now." He looked around examining their surroundings. "Where is Mao anyway?" He asked. "He went into the forest and turns out— Heh—

He was taken a few hours ago." Shadow sighed massaging his temple. "I swear I'm surrounded by idiots." He muttered.

Scourge awoke to find himself in something white. He touched it. He flinched when it moved. It was smooth. Soft like the petal of a flower. Wait. He must be inside of a flower.

He remembers Sonic saying something about a flower, but he can't remember what the rest of what he said was. His memory was fuzzy. His head was pounding like he'd been hit really hard on the head. Why was he here again? He couldn't think straight with this sweet scent going into his nose. He sat down, resting his head against the flower petal. He was surprised it hadn't done anything or even felt his quills.

He thought nothing of it as the sweet smell lulled him to sleep.

He awoke, hours later, to see the roof of some sort of cobble building. He sat up and rubbed his head. Whatever that smell was, it helped him sleep. He stretched, his body feeling sore. One of the petals seemed lower as if to let him out. Scourge was hesitant. He grabbed a stick he'd found.

(Why it was conveniently in there, he had no idea.) He threw the stick to see if the flower would close up, but it didn't. Slowly, he made his way to the petal and stepped on it only to slip and slide off of it. He stood up. Now realizing his jacket was gone, he looked around only to see a vine inching towards him with his jacket. Scourge backed up onto the wall only the feel a vine push him towards the other one.

He swallowed as the vine inched the jacket closer to him. Almost as if telling him to take it. He hesitantly grabbed his jacket, and the vine went limp. Once he put his jacket on, he walked around to explore, vines moving out of the way like draped curtains. He quickly walked past them, and his tried lowed as he marveled at the large room in front of him. A woman with long green hair quills, slim form, wearing a dress of some sort of expensive fabric, black tights, and diamond littered heels. He seemed to be asleep.

"Um— Hello?" He called out to the woman. "I suppose they've brought you here for reason? They seem to know you." She said, opening her eyes to reveal icy blues like his. "Who?"

He asked not seeming to understand what she was talking about and trying not to focus on the vines all around the room. "The vines." Scourge visibly tensed up. "Don't worry. They can't harm you." She said, hopping off the throne, and approaching him. She looked so much smaller than needed.

He was concerned if she was eating enough. She grabbed his hands, her opera gloves making her hands so much thinner. "I've been searching for you forever!" She exclaimed, her eyes lighting up with excitement. Scourge was confused. "Sorry, I can't recall seeing you anywhere. Have we met before?"

The girl giggled. "We're twins dummy!" Scourge examined her. Now that he looked a little closer, he could see the resemblance. Yet his mind was screaming at him to ask for proof. "Alright then, prove it. Tell me something only my sister would know."
(Got this from the Five Kingdoms book :D)
The girl let go of his hands and placed both hands on her hips. "When we were little, I was attacked by a bear cub in the forest and it scratched you on the chest. You told Auntie you tripped." Scourge's eyes narrowed for a moment but he sighed. "Fine. I believe you. But how come I can't remember you?"

He asked. "This dimension does it to you. Once I left, to keep the vines from spreading into town, eventually getting to the core, which happens to be your blue friend's consciousness and destroy it completely, I had to take my place on the throne. Plus, we are royalty after all."

"We are?" She nodded. "Yup." Scourge then realized, he doesn't know her name. "Shit. Sorry to ask, but I don't know, or in this case remember your name."

"Savi." Scourge hummed. "Nice." Savi nodded. "Thank goodness, the vines are friendly. Oh. Scourge, you know the incident 5 years ago?"

Scourge tensed up. "Yeah?" He responded. "I'd sent that vine to check on you. It tried to help you up, but it hadn't known it was hurting you. It feels bad." Scourge's ears went down.

And so did Savi's. "I know that won't change the fact that you're scared of vines, but please know they aren't hostile." Scourge looked at her. "Alright." Savi smiled and grabbed his hand. "Come, come! You have so much to tell me!"

"You like him huh? I always suspected you were a little too friendly with guys, but hey, I myself am happy to support you. You hungry?" She asked. He nodded. She giggled.

"Mephi! Can you serve us please?" She asked. Just then Mephilis appeared beside Savi. "Of course, your highness." (Why not make Mephilis a butler XD)

His eyes looked at Scourge who was growling, not noticing the soft glow of the markings on his quills. "Scourge. It's nice to see you again." Scourge growled his icy blue eyes glowing as well. "Nice to see you my ass." He retorted. Savi frowned.

"Scourge, calm down. And Mephi, I want you to take care of us both, once we leave." Scourge reluctantly sat down, still glaring at Mephilis as he left. "I was told you were in an incident where you were possessed. Can you see the dead?" Scourge turned his attention away from the random room that'd lit up when Mephilis entered the room. "Yeah."

Savi squealed excitedly. "Are there any in here right now? I hear the stairs creaking at night when I'm in my room. I always ask Mephi if he's doing it to mess with me, but he's either in the butler's quarters or cleaning." Scourge snorted seeing a teen hanging from the chandelier. "Milo's hanging from the chandelier. Grandma's chasing Charlie around, and Mesa just ran after Mephilis."

Savi laughed. "Mesa has a huge crush on Mephi. I'd hate to tell her he's not interested in her. Apparently, he's pansexual. I always knew no one in this castle was straight." She said with a snort. "Damn.

If he didn't try to kill Sonic and Shadow, I would've been chased after him." Milo gave him a teasing smirk, pushing his pointer finger through the circle he made with his fingers. Scourge rolled his eyes. Savi snorted. "We're literally the only twins that are open about our sexualities." Scourge snorted at her statement.

"Yeah, the queer twins." Savi laughed at his statement.

Bonus:

Mephilis, who'd heard their conversation, was flustered by Scourge's statement. He had to take a few moments to fix his posture.

Savi and Scourge are the ✨queer twins✨

I wish I had a twin-

;—;

Hopefully, you enjoyed this one! I did my best to make it not so angsty.
