Welcome back to the Modern Sonic and Sonic Boom crossover special. Previously, Modern Eggman accidentally destroyed Boom Eggman's interdimensional portal generator and it'll take about a week to be fixed. While repairing the generator, a huge mishap occured that caused a returning villain to make his comeback. Will Nominatus get his revenge or will he be defeated for a third time? Here is Episode 3: Nominatus' comeback.

Episode 3: Nominatus' comeback.
(At Boom Tails' workshop.)
At Boom Tails' workshop, Team Sonic, the Modern team and Modern Eggman gathered around for Boom Tails' invention, his build-it box.
"So what is this invention of yours, me from this dimension?" Modern Tails asked.
"Well, Tails from another dimension. This is one of my greatest inventions I ever made. This is my build-it box." Boom Tails answered.
"And what does it do exactly?" Modern Shadow asked.
"It can materialize anything from my laptop, including three-dimensional manifestations of characters from video games." Boom Tails said, answering Modern Shadow's question.
"And we had made a manifestation of a character from a 3D game." said Boom Amy.
Ms. Tomatopotomus walks up to the group.
"Who's that weird looking hippo?" asked Modern Knuckles.
"First of all, don't call her weird. Second of all, this is my pet, Ms. Tomatopotomus." Boom Knuckles said.
Boom Sonic turns over to the Modern team. "With my Tails' invention, there is a certain princess in a castle I'd like to meet."
Boom Amy growled at Boom Sonic's remark
"Ohh!" Yelled the Modern team.
"Burned!" Yelled Modern Sonic.
"He totally got you!" Yelled Modern Eggman.
Boom Knuckles is seen with Ms. Tomatopotomus and turns over to the Modern team. "For a pudgy little crime against nature, she's so cute."
"She's hideous. I oughta strangle it." said Modern Eggman.
Before Modern Eggman can strangle Boom Knuckles' pet, he is restrained by the Modern heroes.
"It's best that we should have this Knuckles have his moment, Egghead." said Modern Sonic.
"Even if this Knuckles may be a simpleton, we shouldn't cross the line and straight up kill his pet.." said Modern Shadow.
"Grr! Fine!" said an angry Modern Eggman.
"By the way, I nearly forgot to mention that I set a file-size throttle on the machine." Boom Tails said.
"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty." said Boom Knuckles.
Ms. Tomatopotomus spits out a tomato at Boom Knuckles.
"It spits out tomatoes?" asked a disgusted Modern Knuckles.
"Well, yeah. There's a reason why she's called Ms. Tomatopotomus." said Boom Amy.
Ms. Tomatopotomus runs away and Boom Knuckles chases her.
"Grab her!" yelled Boom Sonic
The other members of Team Sonic, the Modern heroes and Modern Eggman are also seen chasing the female hippo.
(At Boom Eggman's lair)
While Boom Eggman is fixing the interdimensional portal, 3 small creatures emerge from the destroyed container.
Those 3 creatures are Nominatus and his goons, Retro and Beta.
"Finally, after being trapped inside that container for a long time, it is time to get our revenge and destroy this world." Nominatus declared.
"How long have we been in that container?" Beta asked.
"That doesn't matter, you 8-bit dolt!" Nominatus yelled. "What matters is finding a machine that can enhance us to our normal size."
"But the question is, where can we find it?" asked Retro.
"Shut up, you pixelated imbecile! Just shut up and look for it!" Nominatus yelled.
Nominatus sees Boom Eggman busy, working on the portal generator.
"Yes! With Eggman distracted, we should be able to find that machine that can grow us back to normal!" Nominatus said.
"Boss, we found it!" yelled Retro, as he and Beta found Boom Eggman's size maker machine.
"Ah! Excellent! My revenge is about to begin!" Nominatus declared.
The virus trio climbed a wire that led to Boom Eggman's size maker. Later, the digital trio of villains activated the machine and they grew back to normal.
"What's that noise?" asked Boom Cubot.
"I don't know, Cubot" replied Boom Orbot.
"Will you two metal heads stop blabbering and help me with this!" yelled Boom Eggman.
"Uh, sure thing, boss." answered Boom Orbot.
As Boom Eggman and his henchbots continued to work on the portal machine, they are about to meet a returning virus.
"Why, hello Eggman." said Nominatus.
Boom Eggman was shocked to see Nominatus.
"But, how is this possible?! How did you escape?!" yelled Boom Eggman.
"Let's just say one piece of your machine flew and broke us free from your prison." Nominatus said. Retro! Beta! Get him and his henchbots!"
Later, Boom Eggman and his henchbots are seen tied up to a rope and Nominatus is at Boom Eggman's control panel. Nominatus pulls up footage of Team Sonic and the Modern team chasing Ms. Tomatopotomus.
"But what's this? Another Sonic and friends and another Eggman, but much fatter than this Eggman? Ah, no matter. We will get rid of them, destroy this world, and rebuild it, with me in control." Nominatus declared, as he let's out an evil laugh.
"You won't get away with this, you cyber clown!" yelled Boom Eggman.
"I already have! Now, to reprogram Eggman's robots and have them under my control. I'll use them to distract Sonic and his friends so I can sneak into that two-tailed furball's lair." Nominatus said.
A bunch of Boom Eggman's robots, now under Nominatus' control are now invading the village.
(Meanwhile with Team Sonic, the Modern heroes and Modern Eggman.)
Team Sonic, the Modern team and Modern Eggman are still trying to catch Ms. Tomatopotomus, but were unsuccessful.
Boom Sonic and Knuckles ran to a corner of Boom Tails' workshop, but Ms. Tomatopotomus spits out a tomato that caused Boom Sonic to slip. Boom Knuckles tries to pounce the hippo, but he misses and is sent flying to a wall.
Modern Shadow and Sonic have Ms. Tomatopotomus between them. Modern Shadow skated towards the hippo and Modern Sonic ran towards the hippo as well. But, Ms. Tomatopotomus ran and caused Modern Sonic and Modern Shadow to collide into each other.
"Watch where you're going, Sonic!" Yelled Modern Shadow.
"You ran into me, Shadow!" Modern Sonic argued back to the Ultimate Lifeform.
Modern Knuckles yelled "Quit arguing, you guys, and catch that hippo!"
Modern Knuckles chased Ms. Tomatopotomus, but the hippo changed direction and sent Modern Knuckles running into a wall.
Boom Tails uses his enerbeam to lasso the hippo, but ends up tying up Modern Tails, Boom Amy, and Sticks, who were also trying to catch Ms. Tomatopotomus.
"Whoa! What is this thing that me from this dimension has?" Modern Tails thought, as he wants to know more about the enerbeam.
"Get back here, you hideous creature!" Yelled Modern Eggman as he chases the purple hippo.
Modern Eggman then trips on something and falls on then ground. To add insult to injury, Ms. Tomatopotomus spits out a tomato at Modern Eggman's face.
Team Sonic and the Modern heroes all laugh at Modern Eggman.
"Hey! You runts think this is funny! That's not funny!" Yelled an irate Modern Eggman as he wipes the tomato off of his face.
After so much chasing, the purple hippo runs up to Boom Knuckles and licks him. The hippo then lies down on Boom Knuckles' lap.
"Well, I was voted 'Sensitive Soul of the Month' by Hulking Brute Magazine after all." said Boom Knuckles.
"What in the actual heck is he even talking about?" Thought an annoyed Modern Knuckles.
All of a sudden, an alarm is heard. The 10 people rush towards Boom Tails' laptop. Mayor Fink appears on the screen.
"Who's this?" Asked Modern Tails.
"That's Mayor Fink. He's the mayor of this village." Boom Amy answered.
"Sonic! Eggman's attacking the village! And who are those guys?!" Mayor Fink yelled.
Boom Sonic said "This is another Sonic from another dimension and he also has his friends from the same dimension."
"Well, we can use the extra support. Now hurry, or this village will be destroyed!" said Mayor Fink.
"Who wants to see a battle when they could watch a small animal peacefully sleep on someone's lap?" Boom Knuckles asked the Modern team.
"Ahhh!" Yelled Mayor Fink before he cut of the video chat.
"We don't have time for any nonsense. We can't let your Eggman demolish the village." said Modern Shadow.
"We can't leave the village in trouble, no matter how cute Ms. Tomatopotomus is." said Boom Sonic.
"I could care less about that creature. But the Eggman wannabe has caused enough trouble already." said Modern Eggman.
Boom Sonic, Tails, Amy and Sticks all ran out of the workshop. Boom Knuckles is seem carrying the purple hippo with him. The Modern heroes and Modern Dr. Eggman followed Team Sonic to stop an attack which they believed it was from Boom Eggman.
But suddenly, Nominatus and his lackeys got inside the workshop and they have their sights set on the Build-it box.
"Yes! I now have the machine which I can materialize anything I want. Like I can summon Caterpixels, but I can make them stronger!" Nominatus said. "Time to destroy this world! Alright, you two pixel idiots! Get the machine and let's go!"
Retro and Beta grab Boom Tails' Build-it machine and left the workshop.
(At the village.)
The 9 heroes and Modern Eggman are seen with destroyed robots. But little did they know that this was all a distraction from Nominatus.
"Gosh, your Eggman is so desperate." said Modern Knuckles.
"I know and like always, he fails." said Boom Sonic.
"And that's why he's nothing but a failure." said Modern Eggman.
"Now with that out of the way, we can all go back to our main obstacle this week, that adorable hippo thing." said Boom Sonic.
(At Meh Burger.)
The 10 people are seen doing some target practice. Sticks throws 3 plates into the air and the purple hippo shoots them down by spitting out 3 tomatoes.
Team Sonic, Modern Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles cheered, Modern Shadow smiled, but Modern Eggman did nothing.
Dave walks in and said "Hey, hey! Only paying customers are allowed to destroy those plates!"
"Get lost, you miserable intern!" Yelled an angry Modern Eggman. Dave then walks away.
Boom Tails said to the group "Guys, let's back to my workshop, because I may have something else to show you."
Modern Tails said to his counterpart "I can't wait. Let's go."
(At Boom Tails' workshop.)
The group of 10 are wondering around the workshop, but Boom Tails realizes that his Build-it box has disappeared...again.
Boom Tails spoke up "Something's fishy's going on here."
Boom Knuckles said "OK, I admit it. I hid 12 sea bass under your floorboards."
Modern Knuckles thought "Oh, my Gosh! Give me a darn break already!"
"I thought I got rid them and you decided to put more. That's why I still have an animal problem." Said an annoyed Boom Tails. A moose is seen in the workshop. "Go on! Git!" Boom Tails yelled.
"But that's not the point. My laptop and build-it box just disappeared again." Boom Tails continued. "I need to check my security cameras."
Sticks spoke up and said "You mean you've been spying on us the whole time again? What about my right to privacy?"
Sticks takes out a paper bag and puts it over her head. "Much better."
"Take that paper bag off. You look ridiculous." Modern Eggman said as he take the paper bag off of Sticks.
"Ahhh!" Sticks screams as she runs behind Modern Sonic.
Boom Tails plays the footage and sees the culprits behind everything.
"Nominatus!" Yelled Boom Tails.
"Nominatus? Who's that?" Modern Sonic asked.
"Nominatus used to be an ally for our Eggman, but he turned against him and tries to destroy this world. After we beat him, our Eggman caught them. But for some reason, he's back." Boom Tails said.
"The thing is, conquering the world is one thing, but destroying it is another. In other words, let's stop him." Modern Eggman declared.
"But before we do. We need our Eggman to help us." said Boom Amy.
"Ugh! Do we have to?!" Modern Eggman groaned.
"We have too, doctor. With their Eggman on our side, we should be able to beat him." said Modern Tails.
"Alright, here's how this goes. Shadow, you, Tails, and Knuckles go with Tails and Knuckles from this dimension and get the other Egghead." said Modern Sonic.
"We're on it, Sonic." said Boom Tails.
"Which means, Eggman and I will go with Sonic from this dimension, along with Amy and Sticks to find this Nominatus guy, who stole the Build-it box." Modern Sonic continued. "Sound good?"
"Yeah!" Everyone shouted.
"Now let's move out." Modern Sonic said.
As the 2 teams of 5 went to do their tasks, meanwhile...
(Somewhere in Bygone Island.)
"My revenge consists of destroying the village, then the cities, and then I'll rid of the rest of this 'balanced insanity' once and for all. With a little help from..." Nominatus said before he was interrupted.
"Your best friends?" said Beta.
"For the last time, no, you dimwit! I'm talking about that two-tailed furbag's build-it box." Nominatus said.
"Yeah, that's what I was going to say." said Beta.
In the background, Boom Sonic, Boom Amy, Sticks, Modern Sonic and Modern Eggman arrived.
"Not so fast, horn-head!" Yelled Boom Sonic.
"Who the heck are you, you horrid creature?" Yelled Modern Eggman.
"I am Nominatus, viral sensation and destructor of worlds." Nomimatus said.
"Viral sensation? You mean the cute sneezing panda?" said Boom Amy.
"Or those weird pictures of me?" said Boom Sonic.
"What do they have on the internet? Some dancing hamster with a pizza head?" said Sticks.
"That's enough!" Nominatus yelled as he sticks out his hand to zap the 4 heroes and Dr. Eggman.
"Look out!" Yelled Modern Sonic, as he tackles Modern Eggman from the line of fire. But the Boom heroes were getting zapped.
"Get off me, Sonic!" Modern Eggman said as he shoves his Modern arch-nemesis off of him.
"A little thank you would be nice." Modern Sonic responded.
Meanwhile, the Boom heroes are still zapped.
"You non-digital life forms are powerless against me!" Nominatus said.
"But are you powerless against this?" Yelled Modern Eggman.
"Huh?!" Nominatus said as he sees Modern Eggman's fist coming towards him. Modern Eggman punches Nominatus right in his digital face.
The Boom heroes broke free. The Boom heroes got into fighting poses with Modern Sonic and Modern Eggman. Boom Amy has her hammer and Sticks has a net.
Nominatus uses the Build-it Box to summon Caterpixels. "Behold! My Caterpixels!"
Boom Amy yelled "You won't get away with this!" Boom Amy realizes something. "Oh! 'Caterpixels.' That's pretty clever, but at the same time, boring."
(At Boom Eggman's lair.)
Boom Tails and Knuckles, alongside Modern Tails, Knuckles and Shadow broke down the door of Boom Eggman's lair. The 5 see Boom Eggman and his henchbots tied up.
"Guys, please untie us." Boom Eggman said.
"What happened, Eggman? How did Nominatus escape?" Boom Tails asked.
"When I was fixing the portal machine, I piece of the machine flew and knocked the container off the table." Boom Eggman replied.
"Now that we know the reason, we must stop Nominatus" Modern Shadow said.
"But first, untie us." Boom Eggman said.
(Meanwhile, in a battle with Nominatus.)
Caterpixels are moving up to the heroes and Modern Eggman. Boom Amy jumps up in the air with her hammer and misses a Caterpixel.
Boom Sonic spin dashes into the same Caterpixel Boom Amy tried to destroy, but no effect.
"Ow! Digital minions are tough to destroy!" said Boom Sonic.
"They are not! Watch this!" Yelled Modern Eggman as he tries to punch a Caterpixel.
"Ow! I take it back! They are tough!" Modern Eggman yelled in pain.
Ms. Tomatopotomus shows up and spits tomatoes at the Caterpixels. Nominatus creates laser guns for Retro and Beta.
Retro and Beta fired at the hippo, sending her off the battle.
"What should I materialize next?" Nominatus asked.
Boom Amy spoke up "If we don't stop him, he will have a huge army of formerly digital minions under his control."
Here comes the calvary! Boom Eggman is in his Egg Mobile and below him are some of his remaining badnik Nominatus didn't hijack. Alongside them are Boom Tails and Knuckles and Modern Tails, Knuckles and Shadow.
"There can only be one supervillain here, Nominatus!" Boom Eggman yelled.
"I couldn't agree more, Eggman. The only supervillain here is me." Nominatus replied as he disables some of Boom Eggman's robots.
A Scorpion Bot fends off many Caterpixels and the same Scorpion Bot uses it's flamethrower on more Caterpixels.
Both Boom and Modern Knuckles create 2 holes. Sticks and Modern Tails knock the Caterpixels into the holes.
Ms. Tomatopotomus spits out two tomatoes before being blasted with more lasers. Two Caterpixels were pelted the tomatoes the purple hippo spat out.
"Chaos Spear!" Yelled Modern Shadow as he fires a Chaos Spear at one of the Caterpixels, while Boom Amy destroys the other.
Both Modern and Boom Sonic spun dash the laser guns out of Retro and Beta's hands. Beta tries to punch the two blue hedgehogs, but they moved and Beta accidentally punched Retro. Modern Eggman lifts Beta and flings him into Retro.
"As soon as I press this button, I will finally get my ultimate revenge. The likes of which you've never..." Nominatus said before getting Boom Tails' laptop knocked out of his hands.
"Oh, no." Nominatus said before he realizes he's defeated.
Boom Tails catches his laptop.
"I gave you advice and you couldn't follow it. I say it one more time, save your victorious boasts for after the execution of your evil scheme." Boom Eggman said.
Boom Sonic destroys a Caterpixel with a spin dash, while Boom Amy destroys another. Boom Tails activates his invention that sucks up the remaining caterpixels.
"I ain't going back in another container." Retro complained. "Let's blow this joint."
Nominatus summons a barrier and he and his lackeys run away. But Boom Tails types on his lapton and Boom Eggman presses on his wrist controller, causing Nominatus and his goons to shrink.
"No! I was so close to getting my revenge! You can impose data caps on me, but where do they end up?" Nominatus said as his voice is high pitched. "Its a slippery slope. A slippery slope!"
A Beetle Bot flies in the air and drops a container, trapping Nominatus and his goons. Nominatus bangs on the container, Boom Eggman uses his Egg Mobile's attraction ray, grabbing the container.
"Well, looks like you'll be coming back home with me." Boom Eggman said before turning over the group of 10. "The portal needs a few more days to be fully repaired."
Boom Eggman then flies back to his lair. Ms. Tomatopotomus is held by Boom Knuckles. Boom Knuckles proceeds to tickle his pet.
"Well, that's that." said Boom Amy.
"That Nominatus creature was nothing but a nuisance." said Modern Eggman.
"Hope we don't see him ever again." said Boom Tails. "Now let's bring my Build-it box back to my workshop.
Team Sonic, the Modern team and Modern Eggman are victorious against Nominatus. Speaking of Nominatus...
(At Boom Eggman's lair.)
"I'll be back and my revenge shall be much worse than ever before!" Nominatus declared.
"Feeding Time!" Boom Eggman said.
Boom Eggman sprinkles food into the container for the trio. Nominatus growls as he, Beta and Retro eat their food.
"Now if you will excuse me, I have to get busy doing something." Boom Eggman said before he, Orbot and Cubot resume to fixing the interdimensional portal generator.

In "Just a guy 2.0." Boom Sonic caused another uproar at the village as he called someone 'A stranger.' To top things off, one of the Modern characters was done with Boom Sonic's mistreatment and decided to take things personal between him, the 4 remaining members of Team Sonic, and the villagers.
