Chapter 2: Drago Valley and Eggman

Where we last left off, Sonic and Eggman were sent to the land of Shaton, Sonic ended up on a farm with a girl named Ivy and her Aunt Jin. After an incident with goblins, Sonic and Ivy find Eggman giving a speech to the people of the town of Drago Valley.

"Eggman?" said Sonic "excuse me, my adoring listeners, a good friend of mine wishes to speak with me" said Eggman as he and Sonic walk into an alley "what are you doing?!?" said Sonic "I'm saving this world, with technological advancement! This place used to trade animals for other animals, now I've introduced money, they had to go down to the river to clean their clothes, so I repurposed the well into a washing machine" said Eggman "seriously?!?" said Sonic "I know, great, right?" said Eggman "no, not great, while it is good of you to help these people, they don't need money and stuff like that" said Sonic "I was attacked by goblins last night, I seem to know something about us" said Sonic walking off "you know him?" said Ivy "yeah, Eggman…he just can't leave something alone" said Sonic "oh" said Ivy "so, can you tell me about this place?" said Sonic "okay, the town called Drago Valley, it got it's name from the fact it's in a valley protected by the Great Dragon, and they fact we live in harmony with it" said Ivy "so, do you like worship it or something?" said Sonic "he's more like close family friend to everyone in the village" said Ivy "anyway, let's to the marketplace" said Ivy "okay" said Sonic.

"That'll be 20 Eggbucks" said the shopkeeper "huh? Shouldn't a chicken be enough?" said Ivy "sorry, we don't accept animals as payment anymore" said the shopkeeper, a tall guy with black hair and a mustache "why?" said Ivy "because the doctor said that it was 'uncivilized' for us to do that, so he introduced a new system of trading called 'money' where these pieces of paper mean you can…trade for more things? I don't really get it, but everyone seems to love the idea" said the shopkeeper "Eggman…" mumbled Sonic "hey, tell you what, I'm going to give this stuff free, and 20 Eggbucks to start with" said the shopkeeper "thanks, Lawrence" said Ivy "it's the least I could do" said Lawrence "I don't get it, how could you guys just let Eggman walk in and start making up rules, don't you have a mayor or something?" said Sonic "well, the law is decided by the community, not a singular person, and the doctor is apart of the community" said Lawrence "*sigh* let's go, Ivy" said Sonic "thanks again, Lawrence" said Ivy "see you later" said Lawrence. Later. "So, how'd it go?" said Jin "terrible, an…acquaintance of mine has come to the village, and he's changing everything!" said Sonic "he's replaced the trading system with this thing called money" said Ivy "hmmm…" said Jin before a loud crash is heard "what is happening out here?!?" said Jin "sorry, miss, but we're expanding the village, so we need to make room by removing trees" said Eggman in a strange water-powered device "next to my farm?!?" said Jin "like I said, I apologize" said Eggman "Eggman, you can't just start destroying stuff" said Sonic "fine, fine, I'll do it somewhere else" said Eggman "hmmm…" said Jin.

Later. "Sonic just doesn't understand, I'm doing this for the good of the village" said Eggman tearing down more trees "that's enough" said the Great Dragon "I can't let you do this any longer" said the Great Dragon destroying Eggman's device and Eggman ran off. "Everyone, a giant dragon had attacked me as I tried to expand the village!" said Eggman "the Great Dragon? Why would it do that?" said one citizen "yeah, it's supposed to protect us" said another "protect you? It's limiting you, that's what it's doing! It's trying to keep you from expanding, exploring, and fulfilling your potential" said Eggman "it's human nature to want to expand and explore, I mean the rest of the world is doing that, let's join them, by overthrowing our draconic oppressor, and growing pass this valley!" said Eggman as the crowd cheered. Meanwhile at Ivy's house. "Sonic, Ivy, I need to tell you something…" said Jin "sure, what is it, Aunt Jin?" said Ivy "Sonic…I know you're from another world" said Jin "what?!?" said Sonic "in fact, I know a lot of things, why we live in this valley, why the goblins tried to invade, and why the Great Dragon protected us" said Jin "why?" said Ivy "long ago, when I was young, I grew up in a kingdom known as Shaton, it was a prosperous kingdom, but that prosperity brought those who seek to take it from us, and it would appear…" said Jin "what?" said Sonic "a being known as The One Beyond All, a being of pure evil, wanting only destruction who's physical form was destroyed by a group of heroes long ago. One day, the goblins, a neighboring kingdom, began to become erratic. This started when a man named George Wilingson, a priest of the dragon church, fell to The One Beyond All's temptation, he assassinated the goblin king and took over in the name of his new master. He would wage a bloody war against my home kingdom. Many perished on both sides, both kingdoms collapsed. The goblins are now a shadow of their former selves, only desiring to resurrect The One Beyond All, and the kingdom Shaton…at the end of the war, the Great Dragon appeared to bring the refugees, including me, to this valley. Unfortunately, your parents were killed in the conflict, Ivy. It was decided that all the refugees, excluding me, would have their memories wiped of the war and the old kingdom." said Jin. Sonic and Ivy were speechless, "but why were you the only one who didn't have their memories wiped?" said Ivy "because I would raise the person who would destroy The One Beyond All" said Jin "what?" said Ivy "you see, in the old kingdom, there was a prophecy…it said that the girl who could peer into dreams, the one worthy of the Blade of the Sun, and the man who accepted magic on his journey would destroy The One Beyond All for good. I believe that you two are two of those people" said Jin "I need a minute to process all this…" said Ivy "that was a lot" said Sonic, then they heard the sound of a large group of people outside walking toward the nearby hill with…pitch-forks and torches "oh no…" said Jin.
