"You okay, Knuckles, Rachel scares you too huh." Sonic said hearing Rachel talking to Tom making him frazzled.
"N-No, Maddie's sister is just different from her, plus her little one likes hanging out with you and Tails, I'm not a people-alien." Knuckles replied softly before following Maddie into the kitchen to help her cook some of the holiday food, because she'd been teaching him recipes.
It was Thanksgiving morning in the Wazkowi house and Rachel, her husband and JoJo were there surprised that Knuckles, Tails and Sonic were living here seeing JoJo curious about Unit who was hovering above them, freaking Rachel out while JoJo thought it cool along with her husband making Tom grin along with Sonic.
"Relax, Unit's harmless as we turned him from bad to good, and he loves poetry." Tails told her making Rachel more weirded out along with getting excited about playing football later as Tom had explained to their sons about Thanksgiving including the traditions impressing Knuckles, Sonic and Tails, Knuckles was excited about this battle called football making Maddie nervous, in case he hurt somebody as he was pretty strong.
"Can we have chilli-dogs as part of this Thanksgiving feast." Sonic asked Tom.
"We'll think about it buddy, but we can spice things up." Maddie replied from the kitchen making Sonic excited seeing Knuckles shake his head at this, knowing from Maddie you had turkey so Sonic could go one day without his beloved chilli-dogs seeing Tom leaving for work, more so visiting with and helping the residents of the town deciding to follow him, relieving Knuckles seeing Maddie shake her head.
"Awww, is uncle Tommy and Sonic gonna be super-long." JoJo asked.
"They'll be back, in time for football and antics are going to ensue." Maddie assured her niece hoping Robotnik wouldn't rear his head as Sonic along with Knuckles and Tails could kick his butt seeijg JoJo playing with Tails and Unit surprising Rachel things could be calm having alien kids in their house making Maddie frown at her sister, she loved Sonic, Knuckles and Tails along with Tom.
"Umm, Maddie I think the turkey needs us." Knuckles whispered.
Maddie knew he was shy so was working on that with him, besides his temper like the other day after her library books got wrecked knowing football might rile him up, needing to talk to him about this, hearing him asking why.
"Because they're our family homey, I know it's a little hard to understand but be careful when playing football later." she replied to him.
"I'll try Maddie." he told her seeing her smile.
A while later, both Sonic and Tom returned plus Sonic had chilli-dogs for lunch which had been Tom's thinking to keep him calm, getting ready for the football game seeing Knuckles in football gear impressing Sonic that they were goijg to join in the game noticing Knuckles being calm, plus had grapes to boost his energy seeing they were in their usual team for the game.
"Relax Rachel, things will be okay plus Maddie made sure that they don't get carried away." Tom assured his sister in law seeing Maddie agreeing as they were playing and working up an appetite for the dinner which Maddie and Knuckles had prepared which Unit was serving impressing Tom at this, along with Rachel seeing Sonic loading up his plate along with everybody else.
"Ahhhhh, that was some good food, I can barely move." Sonic said.
He was on the couch after Thanksgiving dinner, but full after the feast like everybody else yawning realising the infamous food coma was hitting him, which Tom and Maddie had warned him about going upstairs to his room getting on his bed lying on his side zoning-out as Maddie came in to check in on him, tucking him in leaving him be.
"He's fine, asleep and hit by the food coma like we figured." she told Tom.
They were listening to Unit reciting poetry, which had been Tails's suggestion which everybody was enjoying and Knuckles was in the corner reading.
