Luckly the Vet clinc was not too far from the park. Wade was able to quickly get Knuckles there and into the clinc to be treated. The more diffcut job seemed to be keeping Sonic in the lobby.
"But I have to be there, he needs me..what if...what if he..."Sonic started as he finally sat down tears falling.
Wade frowns "I...He is in the best hands right now buddy,he'll be fine. They will do what they can to help him."
Tom came in quickly,with Tails beside him."How bad is it?"
Sonic rushed over and clinged onto Tom not holding back the tears.
Wade frowned as he was silent for a while, then spoke "A bad wound on his leg near his hip, also on his in surgery now. So i guess we have to wait...he lost a lot of blood Tom."
Tails sat down in a chair and took a couple deep breaths."What about the ...guy that shot Knuckles?"
Wade let Tom tend to Sonic , "The guy is in a jail cell now, he has a lot of charges agaist him too. By the way how is Jojo?"
Tom sighs as he rubs Sonic back, "I don't know, sorry...Rachael will call us I am sure, she acts like she dislikes the boys but I think deep down she likes them and she knows Jojo loves the boys. I hurried here so I didnt get much news."
Tails speaks "Jojo had road burn on her leg and some scrapes on her hand, her leg may be broken."
Sonic sniffs and finallt lets go of Tom and sat down, he was so very quiet,so worried as they waited for answers.
About four hours later Maddie came into the lobby, she gently taped on Tom's shoulder "Honey..."She said softly" Wake up"
Tom was soon awake and rubbed his eyes "How is he?"
Sonic and Tails were still asleep so Maddie left them alone for now "Got a scare a couple times, but he should be ok.I had to give him a blood trasfusion and I wasn't sure how he would react, but he seems is still unconious and likely will be for a few hoursIam gonna sleep here,you get the other two home."She looks at pphone messages"Racheal says Jojo is ok, a broken leg and 5 stiches in her leg...in could of been a lot worse." She groans..."Wish I had news on that..."She shakes her head.
Wade came in about that time, the news repeated as he nods "The guy who hit Jojo and shot Knuckles was drunk driveing, he will be in jail a while since he almost killed two friends, also being drunki, running from the sight of the crime and running from an oofficer."
Sonic woke and sat up, he had been half asleep "I want to stay with Maddie...please dad"
Tails yawned, he seemed ok with going home.
Tom hmmms and glaced at Maddie"Up to you"
Maddie nods "Ok Sonic, you can stay watch over Knuckles and let me know when he wakes or if anything happens and I m needed quickly."
Sonic nods and speeded to where Knuckles was in the recovery sat in a chair and stayed guard over his big brother.
