A bright green light materializes inside the darkened living room. Ruby red eyes scan his surroundings, triangle black furred ears twitch. Still he allows his guard to drop, but is swiftly tackled to the ground.

The amused smirk on his tan muzzle as he lays on his backside, has his children laugh joyously. Looking down at him. "We got you daddy!"

"Getting better Maria, hey there son. Does your mother know you're out bed?"

The Ultimate Lifeform's soft but stern time has little 6 year old white hedgie look down ashamed. His 12 year old sister just smiles kissing their father's right cheek. As all 3 stand up from the carpeted floor.

"Technically, no. I got him out of bed. Well. . . HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DADDY!"

Maria shouts excitedly, tackling their father again. But this time he hugs her as she tries (fails) to knock him to the floor. Shadow looks over her quills gently rubbing them to see their mantle clock.

1:03AM

The confused look on his face, turning to his son. Amber golden eyes smile at him. Handing him a pure white sealed envelope. "Happy Father's Day dad." He takes it from his son, they fist bump.

"Yeah, I know it's late. Mom probably kill me for waking Silver up. But before any stupid lowlife or wannabe evil emerges I wanted to say it early. So Happy Father's Day daddy."

Shadow T. Hedgehog can't help but chuckle at his daughter's brilliant thinking. "Dad, can we train now pppllleeeaassseee?"

Shadow ruffles Silver's star shaped quills at his begging question. Silver smiles tho his eyes shine in annoyance. Maria already heading towards the door, when his strong voice halts her. "Kids, what have I told you?"

"When it comes training not at a late hour and make sure mom knows."

Shadow nods as Maria scoffs residing what he always told them. Silver grumbles under his breath, but smiles as Shadow breaks the envelope to see a homemade Father's Day card.

"Sapphire signed it too. Aunt Rouge and Uncle Sonic will be here in the afternoon. Said something about picnic."

Maria smirks as she leads the two into the kitchen. Already thinking making them some delicious pancakes and eggs. As Maria flickers on the light, they stare down at something very scary. . .

"Rose, I'm home."
