This fic was done specially for the requester (I can't put his name here because for some reason it's not letting me. But for the person who did request it, you know who you are). But yes, this was done very specially for him. Not just because he requested it, but I got it done early for him as a gift for graduating college a few days ago. (If I got that wrong, I'm sorry, my memory is pretty shaggy). So enjoy the hard work I put into this fic. And I'll see you at the bottom.
The Dragon Kingdom had four different types of Clans. The Yagyu Clan, the Shinobi Clan, the Raiju Clan, and of course, the Gossamer Clan, a race of spider people. Like the other Clans of the kingdom, the Gossamer Clan are all well trained ninjas, all under the command of their Bride, known as the Bride of the Endless Reach.
But the Bride could see that the Gossamer Clan was slowly dying and in need of reproduction. Of course, the only thing she could do was find a suitable male to help her bring her Clan's numbers back up. But when she went and asked every single male member of her clan, she found out that each and every one of them were asexual, and thus, uninterested. Though Endless Reach decided that it was probably for the best, as they were technically her biological children. But she had to do something, otherwise the Gossamer Clan would likely die out. The multi-limbed Bride sat in her chamber, meditating to herself in frustration, trying to think of a way to solve this problem.
"Our Clan is in a dire situation, and we must bring our numbers back up" she said to herself "If we do not, then our unfortunate demise is upon us."
Fortunately for Endless Reach, she has a special ability not many others had. And that was the ability to read the Web of Fate. The Web of Fate was an artefact that the Gossamer Clan was in possession of, hidden deep within a cave. It was almost like a crystal ball, as it had the ability to give details of the future and give indications of what was to come, but it did not give straight advice on how to tackle certain fates.
"I must consult the Web immediately" said Endless Reach, standing up "It may not give me the exact details on how to restore us. But anything is worth a try."
So Endless Reach made her way into the deep caverns where the Web of Fate was hidden. Not many outsiders knew of the Web, only a select few. She stood before it and outstretched her six hand, feeling up the strings of the Web, her way of reading it. She closed her eyes and focused on what the fate of her Clan was. She was met with a result that left her relieved. But something that surprised her, was that it seemed that their Clan was also stronger than ever in this future. Something amazing must happen if that was the future.
"Our Clan will not die" she said "We appear to be living on in the future. And better than ever before. But how?"
Endless Reach knew that the Web would not tell her the exact path to this future. She knew that she had to figure it out herself. She sighed softly to herself and looked up at the Web, questioning how she could bring her Clan to a bright future. Obviously, the right choice would be to find a male, but no males in her Clan were interested, and we're her biological children anyway.
"Perhaps… the key to our Clan's survival… is an outsider" said Endless Reach, stroking her chin in thought "That must be it. It's… unthinkable, yet… suitable. But there are billions of outsiders. How will I know which one is the correct one? Only one can bring us to our future."
Endless Reach knew that the Web was unable to put her on the direct path, it was capable of showing, not telling. But… maybe… just this once, it was worth a shot. She took her six hands and began to gently stroke the Web again, reading it again. She saw nothing, nothing, still more nothing.
"This is a waste of time" she said, her hands slowly slipping from the Web. But as they slowly slid away, Endless Reach suddenly got a glimpse of something. Her eyes widened in hope and she halted her actions, replacing her hands on the Web to continue reading it. What she could see was a twin tailed fox, flying a red plane over the Dragon Kingdom, slowly coming in for a landing.
Endless Reach recognised this fox immediately. It was Miles 'Tails' Prower. She had met this fox before when he came with his friends, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sally Acorn and Monkey Kahn. The four of them had arrived to convince her to quit her allegiance with the Iron Queen during the Iron Domination. Endless Reach never really gave the fox much of a thought, as it was Sally and Kahn she was interested in. But now the fox was much, much older than before. It looked like he had just entered adulthood a few months ago.
"Him?" she said in surprise "Could this be the one?"
Endless Reach watched as Tails landed his plane and jumped out, stretching out and smelling the fresh air, enjoying the sight of the beautiful Dragon Kingdom. The Web never showed the key to the future Endless Reach wanted for her Clan. But it always gave her hints. So it was obviously showing her the fox for a reason.
"He must be the key to our future" said Endless Reach "We must bring him here, now."
Endless Reach was quick to call a few members of her Clan to her to give them the task of bringing Tails to her. Two younger spiders were quick to respond to the Bride and they stood in front of her, awaiting their mission.
"A twin-tailed fox has arrived in the Kingdom" said Endless Reach "The Web of Fate has spoken. He may be the key to guiding us to our future. Find him, and bring him to me."
The two spiders spoke not a word, but bowed to their Master. They turned and leapt away, their task to capture the twin tailed fox. Endless Reach turned to return to her chambers, awaiting the arrival of the fox. If she had to do what she thought she had to do with Tails, then she would do it, for her Clan.
Meanwhile, Miles 'Tails' Prower had arrived at the Dragon Kingdom. The beautiful scenery immediately captured his sight and he enjoyed it. He began to walk through the lush land, taking in the glorious sights.
"Well, here I am. Gosh, this place never loses it's charm" said Tails "Now all I need to do is find Li-Moon."
Tails had been back at home, working on his beloved inventions and tinkering away. But Sonic arrived earlier at his workshop with a letter from a friend in the Dragon Kingdom, Li-Moon. It had been a while since Tails had heard from Li-Moon, and it seemed as though she wanted to get together and catch up with him.
So Tails was quick to jump into the Tornado and fly his way to the Dragon Kingdom to meet up for some tea with the red fox. Though her letter never gave an indication as to where to meet her.
"Hmm, well I suppose I could ask someone if they've seen her around" Tails said, shrugging to himself.
As Tails walked through a more dense area of the Kingdom, a jungle-like area with several bushes, trees and bamboo, he had no idea he was being watched by two shadowy figures.
Endless Reach's followers had quickly located where the twin tailed fox was and followed him through the Kingdom, making sure to stay out of sight. Luckily they were excellent at sneaking around and staying silent thanks to the training from their Master. Knowing that it would be best to take him out right there, while they were alone with him, they took their chance.
One spider quickly jumped directly behind the fox and wrapped it's six arms around him, keeping him constrained. Tails gasped out and immediately struggled to get free.
"GAH! What the- Let me go!" he cried out, fighting back. The spider was losing it's grip on the strong fox, and called for his friend to help. Backup had arrived as the second spider jumped directly in front of Tails and delivered a swift chop into Tails's neck. Tails cried out in pain and suddenly went limp.
"We have the fox that the Master wanted," said one spider, picking up Tails in his arms.
"Now we must return to her and present our achievement to her" said the second one. With that said, the spiders leapt away with Tails in their arms, making their way back to their Clan's Bride.
Endless Reach sat in her chambers, meditating to herself in her web. Being a Clan of spider's, they didn't sleep in beds, they slept in webs. She awaited the arrival of her children and hopefully, they succeeded in bringing her the twin-tailed fox that the Web of Fate showed. She did not know what she would do if they failed her.
But luck was on her side as there was a knock upon her door. She opened her eyes and walked over to the door, opening it, seeing one of her loyal children standing before her.
"We have brought him" they said, bowing to Endless Reach.
"Excellent" said the spider Bride, following the spider out of her chambers and towards the main room of their base. When they arrived, she was pleased to see that Tails was there, unconscious and tied up with extra strong web and being guarded by the spiders that captured him.
"You have done well" said Endless Reach "Now, leave us. I wish to be alone with him."
The spiders bowed to their Bride and quickly dismissed themselves, leaving Endless Reach with Tails. She walked over to him and stood over the unconscious fox. She knew he wasn't going to be so forgiving when he woke up. But what was done, was done, and if this fox was the key to saving her Clan, then she would take whatever action she needed to take.
She bent over and picked the fox up in her many arms, and carried her back to her quarters. If she needed to do what she thought she needed to do with the fox, then she wished to be in private. She locked the door to her room and set the fox down on the ground gently, standing before him, waiting for him to wake up.
It took about five minutes before Tails began to stir. Endless Reach backed away a few steps to give him some space to gather his surroundings. Tails moaned in pain as his neck hurt from the chop to his neck from earlier.
"Agh… what… happened?" he groaned.
"Miles Prower" said a voice from behind him "I have something of dire importance to discuss with you."
With a bit of difficulty, Tails turned his body around to face who was talking to him, and the sight of who it was startled him. He found himself looking up at a tall, six limbed, female Mobian spider, dressed in a dark cloak that covered her whole body and her face except for her eyes. On the forehead of her cloak was a symbol of a spider web. Tails had not seen this person in a long time, but he recognised her.
"Oh… um… hi?" said Tails, feeling a little nervous to be in the presence of the spider Bride all on his own. The last time he saw her, he felt brave being in her presence since he had Sonic, Sally and Monkey Khan by his side. But now that he was all alone with her, especially in this situation being tied up in front of her, he wasn't as confident now.
"Please do not fear" said the spider "You have nothing to worry about."
"Wh…Why?" asked Tails "I was kidnapped against my will."
"I had something of dire importance to discuss with you and you specifically" said Endless Reach in a condescending way.
"Well, you could have just sent me a letter or something. There are easier ways to invite people than kidnapping" said Tails.
Endless Reach thought on it for a minute, and her condescending tone suddenly faltered as she realised she might have been too hostile. She closed her eyes in shame and nodded to the fox.
"My sincere apologies" said Endless Reach "We do not get many visitors that aren't captured by us. I… did not know how other methods would go."
"Well, can you let me go now?" asked Tails, wanting to make it on time to tea with Li-Moon.
"But you need to stay!" said Endless Reach "Please… Miles Prower… it is very important to this Clan that you stay and hear me out."
After being kidnapped, Tails wasn't too crazy about whatever Endless Reach had to say. He just wanted to leave so he could see Li-Moon. But given the situation he was in right now, still being tied up by the strong web, he didn't really have much of a choice. He had a feeling it would be faster to hear out Endless Reach so she would let him go faster.
"Fine… what is it?" said Tails.
Endless Reach did not speak a word, and instead, bent over and removed the webbing from Tails's body, freeing him. Tails stood up and rubbed the sore area of his neck, while looking up at Endless Reach.
"Come sit upon my bed" said Endless Reach "Then we shall talk."
"Uhh, bed?" said Tails, looking around the room confused, seeing no bed, until his eyes landed on the massive spider web on the other side of the room "Oh… that."
Tails didn't feel comfortable laying in a spider web, but he also did not want to offend the spider Bride and risk getting himself in trouble. He was in her territory now, if he made her mad, he would be done for. But to his surprise, when he climbed into the web and laid down, he found it to feel surprisingly comfortable. In fact, the web felt even better than a mattress.
"Wow… that's… actually really nice to lay on" said Tails, watching as Endless Reach climbed up into the web, laying down next to him. He felt a little odd sitting next to the Bride, as he felt like not many people did this, not even anyone from the rest of her Clan.
"So, what did you need to talk to me about? And why me specifically?" asked Tails.
"Because… the Web of Fate told me that you were the key to fixing our problem" said Endless Reach, folding her six arms over her lap.
"Oh right… that thing" said Tails, remembering seeing the giant spider web the last time he went to confront the Gossamer Clan "Wait… problem? Is there something wrong?"
"There absolutely is" said Endless Reach, sighing sadly "Our Clan is dying out."
"Oh no… I'm sorry to hear that" said Tails.
"But the thought of our Clan dying, never to be revived, is a fate I find… unacceptable" said Endless Reach.
"Hey… it's not their fault" said Tails "I'm sure they aren't doing it on purpose."
"That's not what I mean" said Endless Reach "The mere thought of the Dragon Kingdom being reduced to three Clan's instead of four, is a fate I cannot accept. I do not know what will happen if we die out. Nor do I think I want to know. But the consequences could be massive. Consequences that could possibly end up being the fall of the entire Dragon Kingdom."
Tails didn't really think the death of one Clan would start the end of the Dragon Kingdom, but he could tell that Endless Reach was not having any of it. So he decided to just agree with her.
"Ah… no, I completely understand," said Tails "But why does your Clan dying have anything to do with me? I know you said the Web of Fate called for me or something, but I don't think I can save your Clan. If there's anyone out there who can, it would be Kahn. Why don't you go talk to him?"
"The Web of Fate would have shown me the King if it was him who I needed to save our Clan" said Endless Reach "But since it has shown you instead, then you must be the key to reviving us."
Tails was still sceptical about this entire thing, not really believing that he could possibly help Endless Reach with her dilemma. Granted, yes, he always wanted to help those he could, but he just didn't know how he could this time.
"Well, I want to help, I just don't know how" said Tails, shrugging at her.
"Well, I think I know how you can help" said Endless Reach, sitting up straight on the web "I didn't know if I had to resort to this in order to keep our Clan alive. I thought that maybe someone from within the Clan would have helped me achieve this. But they are all asexual, and thus, could not help me achieve this."
"Asex- what!?" said Tails, looking up at her in shock "That's what you're thinking you have to do!? Wait, you're not seriously thinking of doing… that with me? I'm not even close to being the same type of Mobian as you! What if it doesn't work? What if nothing happens? Or, what if they aren't the same as the Clan you have now?"

Our Clan will live on, but only if I play the right game. But that wasn't all it showed me. Our Clan was stronger, faster, better than ever before. But something I didn't understand was that we could never be that strong with our own. Which meant that we must have had the help of an outsider. And the first outsider the Web of Fate showed me, was you Miles Prower."
Tails was surprised to hear those words from her. But he still barely knew this woman, and it felt really weird. "I… I really do want to help you" said Tails "But if I do this, then your new children will be mine too… and I wouldn't feel right just giving you children and then leaving."
Endless Reach's heart almost melted when she heard those words. Tails was so selfless. Perhaps that was why the Web of Fate showed him and him specifically. He was kind, sweet, caring, selfless and… she had to admit, cute. He had to be it! He had to be the key to her Clan's survival. And she knew how he could help too. But of course, he didn't want to gift her with children and then leave them all with her. But if he wanted to help her raise them, then that was fine by her. In fact, maybe this was the way her Clan not only survived, but became stronger. With a Bride and a Groom of the Endless Reach.
"Miles Prower" said Endless Reach "I now see why the Web of Fate chose you of all outsiders and all Gossamer Clan members."
"Huh? You do?" asked Tails.
"Yes… you are the perfect entity to repopulate us" said Endless Reach "You know what we have to do to achieve this. The Web of Fate has chosen you, not just to be the one to being the Gossamer Clan to be strong again. But to also be the first Groom of the Endless Reach, by my side."
That claim caught Tails by complete surprise. He was starting to think that this was all too far fetched and just a super complicated way for a girl to confess their love to them. But then again, they barely knew each other, so maybe… maybe this was fate.
"But… I will not force you to do this. While you may be in my domain, I cannot force you to do this with me" said Endless Reach "Sure, it may not lead to a happy future to the Gossamer Clan. But I do not deserve to be named the Bride of the Endless Reach if I did not give you a choice. So I will let you decide whether or not you will help, and become the Groom of the Endless Reach. I really want you to. But it is your choice."
Tails, in a way, felt relieved that she was not forcing this upon him just for the sake of her Clan and that she was giving him a choice. And it was something to think about for sure.
